00:00Saving that kid is all that matters.
00:02So either you deal with this android now, or I'll take care of him.
00:16Telling a story where your choices, your decisions are black or white was not very interesting.
00:22I mean, what is interesting is the choices that are in the shades of grey,
00:25where it's not obvious what you should do.
00:28I love to play with this kind of choices, because I think they are the most meaningful.
00:3428 stab wounds.
00:36You didn't want to leave him a chance, huh?
00:39I thought taking the point of view of androids was practically interesting.
00:44They would be the victims of persecution.
00:48They would be the ones who would want to fight for a better life.
00:52And I thought their point of view was by far the most interesting.
00:56And maybe a man kind of lost that sense of what it really means to be human.
01:01Having androids that are maybe more human than we are, was something that was intriguing to me.
01:07I tried to have characters who show the diversity of intentions and basically write Detroit pretty much like a Greek
01:15tragedy.
01:16There is no evil character, there are just characters with different agendas that collide.
01:22And so the story emerges from this conflict.
01:25It asks many questions about our past, our present, our future.
