PNM people are hurting more in Tobago than in Trinidad. This from Opposition Leader Pennelope Beckles as she spoke in Tobago during a PNM political meeting in Buccoo on Tuesday.
She said the loss of the PNM in the April 28th general elections in Trinidad and Tobago was as a result of the PNM losing its way. More from Elizabeth Williams.
00:00Let me make it plain. It has plenty hurting. And there's more hurting in Tobago. I mean, some Trinidadians mightn't be too happy to hear me say that. But when you have lost your both members of parliament and you only have one person in the assembly, that ain't easy.
00:22Mrs. Beckles-Robinson said the PNM must evaluate where the party went wrong. She went on to speak further on the pain of PNM members.
00:32When you move from two to zero or when we move from in total control of the THA to have one person after years of continuous control and after breaking a mold where Mr. McKenzie was a lone person for many years and we brought ourselves to where we were and then we take a dive. It had to be painful.
00:58The unopposed political leader of the PNM said there must be forgiveness in the rank and file of the PNM towards the party's readiness for the upcoming THA election.
01:10We start doing a little bit of forgiveness and we start getting ready for elections.
01:17It is not an easy exercise, but we cannot move forward if we don't find a way to say what is bothering us and why we are where we are and how we begin to get to where we are, where we want to be.
01:33She stated the leadership of the PNM will meet in Tobago more often as there appears to be a disconnect as Tobago must be treated equally.
