00:00I understand there's some big hail out there.
00:03Yeah, and we're talking, I mean, look at this.
00:05This is a baseball I'm holding up to this stone here.
00:09And this is four and a half inch hail.
00:11And you can see it on the ground all behind me.
00:14That's the Kankakee Water Tower there over my shoulder.
00:17This whole area just covered.
00:18We talked earlier about campus there kind of having more sporadic, large, damaging hail.
00:24This was not the case.
00:25This is just south of downtown, south of where the likely tornado went through.
00:29I stopped here because there was just a little bit of traffic in the area.
00:32And, of course, I wanted to get out and show some of the hail here.
00:34But a lot more hail damage in terms of car vehicles.
00:38A lot of car windows battered here.
00:39The good news, at least it appears to me here, I'm on the south side of Kankakee.
00:43The tornado likely passing south here.
00:45I think this is Kankakee, probably high school that's behind me here.
00:49Again, the water tower here.
00:51And, again, this is just south of downtown when you come in on the southwest side.
00:55And we're talking, again, four and a half inch hail.
00:58I'm going to kind of meander because, I mean, this is just unbelievable type hail.
01:03I mean, look at the size of this thing.
01:04This thing is almost, you know, half the size of my face.
01:06And you can see just the shape of how big this hail is.
01:10And, again, we're talking four and a half, probably five inches in diameter.
01:14So this is bigger than softball in some cases.
01:17Like I said, you put the baseball up to it, and the hail actually dwarfs the baseball.
01:22So that is just an indication of what came through here.
01:25I can only imagine how loud that must have been.
01:27And, again, you see the field just covered as far as the eye can see.
01:31And then this is pretty much the site in just every direction.
01:33Hail as big as this all through town.
01:36So a lot of damage likely to cars and windows here.
01:39That's excluding the tornado that likely developed just to the southeast of here and pushed across the south side of
01:45town.
01:46So I'm going to toss it back to you guys here as I kind of assess what's gone in Kankakee.
01:49Again, right now, this is the big story here on the south side of town.
01:53South of downtown is this four to five-inch diameter hail.
01:57All right, Tony, pretty amazing stuff.
01:59Thanks for being there, and we'll look forward to checking in with you again momentarily.
02:03We have tornado warnings in southeastern Kankakee County, confirmed tornado there.
02:07Another tornado warning for Bureau County in Henry County of Illinois, Henry County of Iowa, Jefferson County of Iowa,
02:12and then large hail right through downtown Kansas City.
