‘Pay ₹5 Lakh or Face Defamation’: Jhansi Woman Alleges Harassment, Social Media Threats by Neighbours

A sensational case has emerged from the Shivaji Nagar area under the Navabad police station limits in Jhansi, where a woman has levelled serious allegations of harassment, threats and attempted defamation against some neighbours, including women working in orchestras and their associates.

According to the complaint, the victim alleged that the accused often create disturbances in the locality late at night after consuming alcohol. They are accused of shouting abusive language, playing loud music and creating a ruckus outside her house. A video related to the incident has also surfaced, triggering widespread discussion in the area.

As per reports, Radha Yadav, wife of Krishna Yadav, who lives near BGN School in Shivaji Nagar, stated in her police complaint that Pragya Yadav alias Mohini Yadav and her partner Golu alias Gola Balmiki, residents of the same area, have been constantly harassing her.

Radha alleged that Pragya Yadav, using her Instagram account under the name “Mohini Yadav”, has been sending objectionable videos, photos and messages to her Instagram account. She further claimed that attempts are being made to defame her by sharing her mobile number on WhatsApp and other social media platforms.

According to the victim, when she contacted Pragya Yadav and asked her to stop such acts, the accused allegedly threatened to kill her. Radha also alleged that the accused demanded ₹5 lakh, saying that if the money was paid, they would stop posting videos about her on Instagram.

She further claimed that the accused boasted about having strong contacts and warned that they could do anything to harm her.

In her complaint, Radha also alleged that some women in the neighbourhood who work as orchestra dancers regularly drink alcohol with friends late at night and create chaos in the colony. She claimed they dance to loud music, use abusive language and sometimes even kick the gate of her house in an attempt to break it. Stones have also reportedly been thrown at her house, creating panic among her family members.

Residents of the area are said to be troubled by these repeated disturbances.

The victim said she had earlier complained about the issue. Even on the night of the incident, she reportedly called the police, but according to her, no concrete help was received. Radha alleged that around 10 boys and 10 girls frequently gather in the colony late at night, creating trouble and sometimes entering nearby houses, which has caused distress among local residents.

She claims to possess evidence related to the entire incident.
