00:00I'm a celebrity makeup artist with 20 years experience and I want to teach you about how to
00:04get the most out of your makeup through using your concealer and your foundation last because
00:08actually everything gives you coverage. Cream bronzer, powder bronzer, face powder, setting
00:14powder, blush, fucking highlighter. It all gives you coverage. That's why if you ever feel like
00:20you're wearing too much makeup it's because you've done your concealer or your foundation first.
00:24Now if you have a lot of breakouts or you have a lot of sort of things on your skin
00:28that you like
00:28to cover yes you do want to do your foundation first because then if you're gonna you might have
00:33to color correct areas for example that are red or discolored or you know whatever I hate the word
00:38discolored by the way but you might need to fix areas that bother you fix that bother you first and
00:45then
00:45you do this stuff second but this is a helpful technique for anybody that sort of feels like
00:50their makeup is looking heavy and you want to use less of it. So I've got nothing on my face
00:55right
00:55now. I have on a little I mean I have a little of the high pressure and highlight in light
00:59pink
01:00with the serum from KJH brand and I'm just going to start to add this quite generously to my face
01:06so
01:07already that is giving me a light reflectant benefit which therefore is pushing the light away from my
01:12face distracting from again imperfections because the the industry of beauty has taught us that
01:19freckles and blemishes and dark under eyes or whatever it might be is an imperfection and I'm
01:27going to use this in a way that maybe you wouldn't expect me to use I mean it's a highlighter
01:31but it's
01:31a concentrated highlighter that I'm mixing with a serum that gives it this sort of wet glassy look
01:36applying that just sort of all here everywhere where effectively I also want coverage. Okay I'm
01:43going to actually just do half my face so that you can see the difference of both sides. All right
01:47so as you
01:47can see this side already looks more perfected than this side. Now I will say the products obviously
01:52all depend on the coverage and the opacity level. You might have two blushes in your makeup bag one of
01:58them might be quite wet and dewy and balmy therefore it's not going to give you as much coverage as
02:02something that's matte and opaque. For example this one from Milk which is a sort of sheer stain isn't
02:10going to give coverage per se versus like something that is a cream sort of opaque pigment like this one
02:16from KJH brand will give you coverage. You will also get coverage from the uh from the Rode blushes
02:22because they have a dense creamy base whereas this one has like a transparent element to it. So for the
02:29sake of keeping things simple I'm going to use the same brush that has a highlighter in it and pick
02:32up
02:32some of the uh Sleepy Girl from Rode and just start stippling that onto my cheek. If you ever do
02:40this
02:40and you feel like there's too much color just buff it off into the back of your hand or buff
02:43the brush
02:43into a towel and then just keep working as you will basically just remove a little bit of the excess
02:49product that's in there that's stopping you from being able to blend it without adding more product. So
02:53I'm just adding a bit more sort of shape here. I haven't done my concealer yet obviously.
03:00I'm just going to do a little bit here because I like it when my blush feels like it's not
03:03just part of my cheek
03:04but it's part of my face in general. And you know makeup is one of those things and I always
03:09like to say this
03:10phrase trust the process um because I do think you have to sort of like you know if you are
03:14doing
03:15makeup in a bit of a slightly unconventional way you do have to trust the process but then you will
03:19also get this beautiful you know skin-like finish at the end. Right for the sake of just using the
03:24same
03:24brush and not wanting to wash 100 brushes I'm just going to buff what was in this brush out into
03:28a towel
03:29and then I'm going to take a little bit of cream bronzer from Makeup by Mario and pick up a
03:32little bit
03:32of that and just start to stipple and sweep that cream bronzer where I want it. This again is a
03:40sort
03:40of semi-transparent bronzer so it won't give me that much coverage but it will give me a perfected
03:44look because it is a little bit radiant it has pearl in it it also has a sort of balmy
03:49finish
03:50and so just popping that on there down the nose tip of the nose and then maybe a little bit
03:57close to
03:57the eye just to give a touch of sort of eyeshadow kind of tone. Okay and my objective with myself
04:07when I'm doing my own makeup and even when I'm doing clients I always want my skin or their skin
04:11to look as good as humanly possible without concealer after all of these steps because then
04:17I know that I'm going to use hardly any concealer. I'm just going to use a little bit of the
04:20lip crayon
04:21from KGH brand in the shade etch just to border the lip there. This color that I already have on
04:29is KGH brand in soft berry and I don't know I'm doing half my face but I guess I've committed
04:36to the
04:36bit. Okay so this is kind of where we are I kind of like how this looks I just want
04:42now contrast from
04:43my complexion product and maybe a bit of coverage here and there. All right and with one of my absolute
04:47favorite concealers ever made stretch from Glossier I'm just going to start to stipple this on
04:52to dull down anything that I want to dull down to provide contrast so I'll kind of cut underneath the
04:57jaw just there to sort of pop the blush and create a little bit more of a shadow not shadow
05:03but
05:03highlight at the jaw and then a little under the eye and then a little kind of everywhere just like
05:11a
05:11little thin balmy layer of complexion a little on the forehead essentially just this is like my
05:19retouching tool and being quite delicate and soft every layer I add after the first layer becomes
05:28softer and softer and softer in the pressure so that you don't basically take things off as you're
05:33applying it and then I can also now it's the sort of time where I would go back in maybe
05:38I want a tiny
05:39bit more of the sleepy girl blush and just pop a little bit more of that back in close to
05:44the eyes
05:44because I like blush close to the eyes I don't need more highlighter this is kind of a perfect ratio
05:50and then powder and that's kind of as simple as it is like I find that I use so much
05:55less
05:56foundation and complexion makeup when I do the sort of under layer of bronzer blush and highlight
06:04because again like I said before it's all giving you coverage this powder is the um vive powder I am
06:15pretty obsessed with it cannot stop using it um also just join sub stack who's over on sub stack if
06:22you want to follow me it's my same account name I don't yet know how I'm going to use that
06:26platform but
06:27I just thought maybe it's time to join it anyway this is my before after and you you might think
06:37this is a lot of makeup and everybody's level of makeup is different but I've hardly got any makeup
06:41on but I do want to know as always was this helpful in the comments below
06:45you
