00:00and also starting, Joe, in the ACC.
00:03It's the Miami Hurricanes taking on SMU.
00:05This is a road game for the Hurricanes.
00:06Overnight, minus 2.5s have now turned into minus 1.5s
00:09at just about every outlet, a total of 160.5.
00:13Miami, according to Ken Palm, the 31st team in the nation,
00:16going into college basketball conference tournament play,
00:20which means they're probably going to get a berth and play in March Madness.
00:24SMU comes in on Ken Palm, 41st here ranked.
00:26But SMU is the favorite here, Joe.
00:28Miami on the road to take on SMU in the ACC.
00:31What you're taking, your spread line on this one.
00:33Well, this is a very important game for seating and selection Sunday,
00:39if I'm SMU.
00:41The problem with SMU is that, yeah, they've had a decent season,
00:46but they haven't been able to beat any quality basketball teams.
00:51And if they're not able to beat Miami at this point,
00:54which is a top, like you mentioned, Donnie,
00:56top 35 team in the country, what's going to happen to you, SMU?
01:02Are you even going to make the tournament?
01:04Are you going to be on the outside looking in?
01:06It's not a great matchup for them.
01:08They're very soft in the interior.
01:10They don't have the kind of big men who play at the rim like Miami does.
01:15All of their offense generally comes from the outside.
01:19So Miami could have their way with this SMU team,
01:22and I think they will, quite honestly.
01:24I think Miami, they've done really good against teams like SMU.
01:29They, too, have had some difficulty with the better teams.
01:32But this is a much bigger game for SMU than it is Miami.
01:36Hey, John, Luke is doing a great job with Miami.
01:39What a turnaround.
01:39Looks like they're going to be heading towards March.
01:41Man, this year, a couple extra wins to sort of seal the deal.
01:43Can be nice to end the season.
01:45We'll see what they can do tonight on the road at SMU.
01:47Let's head over to the SEC.
01:49Joe, a 7 o'clock start tonight.
01:50That's Texas, and it's Arkansas.
01:52Overnight, 8.5 in the marketplace.
01:54Most of the marketplace now, Joe, 7.5.
01:56Even seeing some 6.5 here still is a favorite towards Arkansas.
02:00Love to see the total, 165.5, which is down from the overnight numbers.
02:04But the one thing we know is, last time out, Arkansas got absolutely detonated by the Florida Gators,
02:08looking for a bounce back and favored by roughly a touchdown tonight over Texas.
02:12What's your spread line tonight?
02:14Texas versus Arkansas.
02:16Yeah, Texas, though.
02:18I mean, Texas should have done enough at this particular point where they're going to be,
02:22and they're going to be a terribly high seed.
02:24But Arkansas, I mean, they're among a number of SEC teams, right,
02:29that are going to be looking for that mid-tier, maybe like 4 through 7 seed, Donnie, right?
02:35So Arkansas has been a different team at Bud Walton Arena.
02:39You mentioned that Florida game.
02:41That was in Gainesville.
02:42They are a different team on the road, Arkansas, which begs the question,
02:46how in the world are they going to fare in March Madness when all those games are going to be
02:51on the road?
02:51But this one isn't.
02:53This one's at Bud Walton, and they have played like a top-five team at Bud Walton this year.
02:58I think Texas is in trouble here.
03:00I think this is one of those games where Arkansas bounces back and goes scorched earth.
03:05Texas cannot compete with Arkansas from the outside.
03:08I think Arkansas runs away with it.
03:11How about this next one here we're going to talk about in the Big East?
03:13It's Villanova taking on DePaul.
03:15DePaul no longer – I mean, doormat is a different word in the past where it's like,
03:18oh, yeah, but they've gone, let's just say, DePaul two years without winning a Big East game.
03:21Joe, do you know they won four of their past five games in the Big East here heading into this?
03:25And Villanova, losers of their past two of three.
03:27Now, we do have Villanova on the road tonight as a favorite, minus three and a half against DePaul,
03:32and a total of 135 and a half.
03:34Big game for both of these teams, but just good to see like DePaul being competitive again in the Big
03:38East.
03:39With one more win, Donnie, DePaul locks in their best season in 20 years.
03:46And I loved Chris Holtman when he was at Ohio State.
03:49I thought he was a very underrated coach, but unfortunately, they don't have any patience at Ohio State.
03:56Instead, DePaul, well, guess what?
03:58He has done an amazing job.
04:01DePaul, with a win, will lock them into no worse than a sixth-place finish in the Big East.
04:07That is absolutely crazy.
04:09That will be DePaul's first top-half Big East finish in program history.
04:14That is ridiculous here.
04:17I'm rooting for him here tonight.
04:19Yes, Nova's kind of taking a step back here, Donnie, to your point, over the last couple of games.
04:24But there is no doubt, at home, DePaul, senior night, this is going to be a fun one.
04:30This is kind of one of those sneaky good ones here that I'll take the points with the home dog.
04:36Oh, let's have some fun here.
04:37Are you having fun?
04:38It's the early line.
04:39It's a Wednesday.
04:39It's hump day.
04:40You're halfway to the weekend.
04:41It's how we get down and do some business.
04:42Now, Joe, I do like overzealous college players just enjoying themselves right now.
04:47And they say stuff that probably doesn't make too much sense to the common man, but maybe it does to
04:52them.
04:52A.J. DiBanston, one of the best college basketball players who just might be the number one overall pick in
04:58the NBA draft.
04:59Riches right away, but out of the bad way, he gets paid a lot of money to play at BYU
05:03here.
05:04He, quote, said this, Joe, I might not leave college.
05:07My mom wants me to stay and get a degree.
05:10Well, your mom, look, it's a mom out here.
05:13What can I say?
05:14I can't disparage the mom right now for giving that type of advice, Joe.
05:17But he leaves BYU, minted, multimillionaire, even though he's already a multimillionaire.
05:23But there'll be more millions once he gets the NBA and a faster chance of getting to that second contract,
05:28which is what they all want.
05:29Love to see he loves it at BYU.
05:31But if their coach is like, yeah, you know, it sounds great.
05:33Come back.
05:34He's doing him at this service.
05:35The kid's got to go.
05:36But can't hate him for liking college this much.
05:41Donnie, I got to tell you, if this is a byproduct of the ineptitude of the NCAA and this NIL
05:49debacle here,
05:51where somehow you're convincing the college players, these 18-year-olds, that, you know what?
05:57Maybe it's, hey, with the money I'm making here, maybe I just stay and get my degree.
06:02Yeah.
06:02I am all for it.
06:04Let's not forget.
06:05We haven't seen something like that since they said the same thing about Tim Duncan back in the day.
06:11Remember?
06:11What are you staying at Wake Forest for?
06:13What are you doing?
06:14And Tim Duncan's like, I'm not going, like, I came here to get my degree.
06:17I'm getting my degree.
06:18The NBA will wait.
06:20This kid can do the same.
06:21The NBA will absolutely be there for him when he is done playing college basketball.
06:27But that would be great momentum for the college game if he is the poster child for,
06:33where are we, what are we running to go play in the NBA for if we're making a million dollars
06:37in NIL money here anyway?
06:38Why don't we just get our degree?
06:40That would be fantastic, Donnie.
06:42Look, here's what you do, A.J.
06:44DiBansa.
06:45I'm not saying it's the right thing to do here.
06:46You graduate, or excuse me, you leave after one, you go to the NBA.
06:49You got millions in your back pocket.
06:51You pay somebody to go on the University of Phoenix online.
06:54You get your degree.
06:55You get your master's.
06:56Boom.
06:56Voila, Joe.
06:57Isn't that the right move here?
06:58Go ahead, NBA.
06:59But they have millions already, Donnie.
07:02But that's the difference.
07:03He's not, you know, he's not on $3,000 a year in scholarship stipends.
07:09No, the kid is making millions right now.
07:11But he's not on Pell Grant, Joe.
07:13He'll make millions this year.
07:13Come on.
07:15That's the difference.
07:15Picking off that money?
07:17Yeah.
07:17We'll see what happens.
07:18By the way, four-year players in college basketball, I'm telling you right now, can
07:23you imagine if you had to go to college for four years before you went to the NBA, how
07:26good the college game would actually be?
07:28How good the NBA game would be, Donnie.
07:31You're right.
07:31There you go.
07:32GM's not getting fired over 19-year-olds that they don't have enough time to actually
07:36watch them play in college.
07:37It might be a revolution here out of BYU.
07:39How about this?
07:40Ben Portnoy.
07:41Maybe it's brother Dave Portnoy here.
07:43Sponsorship.
07:43Big 12 partnering with Windex as the official glass cleaning partner of the Big 12 tournaments
07:48here.
07:49Now, understand this.
07:50You see that court.
07:51It's digital and it changes here where it's like, okay, Arizona's on the court.
07:55Now, Kansas is on the court.
07:56I love this.
07:57But also, I love the fact like this, Joe.
07:59People are saying, I wonder if we can get this hacked mid-game and the stuff we can put
08:04on the court while they're playing.
08:06This could be a match made in heaven, Joe.
08:08Now, watching the Big 12 tournament, all of a sudden, a face pops up on the screen.
08:12It's hacked.
08:12Bitcoin.
08:13Click this link.
08:14I need this in my life, Joe.
08:15I do.
08:16Well, it was always the logical progression, Donnie, right?
08:19They've been talking about this for a while here.
08:22And yeah, go ahead.
08:23I mean, it's going to be like that, Donnie.
08:25It won't be too long before, you know, holograms are in your living room and the players are actually
08:30right there playing on your dining room table.
08:33So, yes, it's all coming, Donnie.
08:35It's all coming.
08:36It's all coming.
08:38Rutgers, Joe, has lost the plot.
08:40They just have.
08:41They leveled up and went to the Big Ten to take a paycheck.
08:44And all of a sudden, that paycheck isn't paying any bills.
08:46So, what are they doing now?
08:47Rutgers is set to unveil Scarlet Knight Enterprises Incorporated, a new third-party commercial arm
08:53centered on revenue generation.
08:55Do you know how the real schools do it, Joe?
08:58Hey, that basketball team's good.
09:00Oh, a lot of pride in actually graduating there and being an alumni.
09:04I'll donate to that school.
09:05Whoa, whoa, the football team is good.
09:07I'll send them a couple hundred bucks.
09:08Or the big-name guys that graduate and start as CEOs of company, they're donating millions.
09:13That's how schools do it.
09:14Have some pride in your school.
09:15Apparently, Rutgers has no pride where they send out those little leaflets.
09:19Hey, donate to the Alumni Association.
09:21Nobody wants to do it because the programs absolutely stink.
09:24So, now we're going to generate revenue outsides.
09:27At Rutgers, D3, it's awesome.
09:30Join the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
09:33Play William Patterson.
09:34Play Rowan.
09:35Play Jersey City.
09:36Get out of this conference.
09:37Get out of there.
09:38Or stop playing for athletic directors that haven't been in the office in 30 years because
09:45that's what you've done.
09:46You've kicked the can down the road where you can't make any money, Rutgers.
09:51Oh, we got fire topics all morning long on a Wednesday to go back and forth.
09:55You don't need caffeine at this point.
09:57You just need us.
10:01Pretty good question here on the Sports Grid Network.
10:03At Sports Grid on X, who will be chosen as the number one pick in this year's NDA draft?
10:08Four options.
10:09Peterson, Dibanski, Boozer, and Senac Jr.
10:12No surprise that Senac Jr. is getting about 2% of the vote here.
10:16I don't think anybody even knows who that guy is.
10:18Boozer, Dibanski, and Peterson.
10:19And for me, I want Dibanski.
10:20Who'd you go with, Joe?
10:22Yeah, I think Peterson's going to get it, period.
10:25I think he's the guy that is going to garner the most attention.
10:29He is the guy that's already garnered the most attention.
10:32And he is a game changer.
10:34And quite honestly, Donnie, his game, I think, currently will translate into the NBA better
10:41than some of those other guys, which they're great talents, but it might take them a little
10:45longer here.
10:46I think Peterson is the guy that goes right from Kansas right to the NBA and starts and
10:53makes a difference for a team.
10:55How about right to some best bets here?
10:572-0 last night.
10:58Here's Bye-Bye-Bye.
11:05Find them a winner, Joe.
11:06Where are we going tonight?
11:08Yeah, I love this spot here.
11:10I'm going to go with Florida State, laying a short number in college hoops, taking on
11:15Pittsburgh, who is now, this is their first game back from a West Coast road trip.
11:20They took on Stanford, then they took on Cal.
11:22They beat Cal impressively there, Pittsburgh, but this is not a very good team.
11:28Florida State, don't forget, started the season, Donnie, off 0-5 in conference play, and then
11:33ran the table.
11:34This is a team that has been getting better and better every game that they have played.
11:40First-year head coach, replaced Leonard Hamilton.
11:43I think they rout Pittsburgh tonight.
11:45Let's focus on college, Joe.
11:47This is the last week of the regular season for these college teams.
11:49Next week, head into conference tournaments.
11:51Then the following week, Selection Sunday is next Sunday, and away you go into March Madness.
11:56Let's take a look at the ACC.
11:57In the first hour of the program today, Joe, we took a look at some of the sportsbooks, right?
12:01Vandal and DraftKings, and give you some opportunities.
12:03Now we'll take a look at the predictive markets here.
12:05Miami of Florida taking on SMU.
12:08It's the Hurricanes taking on the Mustangs here.
12:10If we take a look at the game itself, it's close in the point spread.
12:12But if you just want to pick SMU to win this game, that's a 53% chance it's trading out
12:17here on Cal State.
12:18Miami at 47%, Joe.
12:20If you look at the spread, you have one and a half here as a favorite towards SMU.
12:24That's trading at 52%.
12:26And also, the total, 160 and a half points trading at 50% here, Joe.
12:31SMU taking on Miami.
12:33SMU the home team and favorite.
12:35Yeah, I mean, top 25 for Miami.
12:38I think they're one win away, Donnie, from actually setting a school regular season record,
12:43which is kind of crazy for wins here in Lucas' first year after replacing Laranega here.
12:50But SMU needs this game more than Miami does.
12:55Because SMU's resume, although they've racked up some wins, they haven't beaten anybody worth anything here.
13:02And this is an interesting, you know, styles make fights, Donnie.
13:05And Miami here loves to live in the paint and play at the rim.
13:09Well, that's where SMU's defense is the worst.
13:12They're not going to stop anybody in the paint or at the rim, which means they're going to have
13:16to make a lot of shots here from around the perimeter.
13:20Miami doesn't shoot threes.
13:22SMU does.
13:22But I think Miami's physicality is going to be a problem for SMU.
13:27So I do kind of agree here with the markets.
13:30And I like this price point for the University of Miami.
13:33Price points are key, Joe, as we always like to point out some of the differences
13:37between the sportsbooks and the predictive markets.
13:39If you look at that total, it's at 160 and a half.
13:42And you say to yourself that you want to take that over, $100 investment pays back $200.
13:47Oh, wait a second.
13:47It doesn't pay back $190?
13:49No.
13:49There's no juice on this type of layout here.
13:52So make sure you're shopping around.
13:53And these are some of the advantages that you might get here in the predictive markets.
13:56Let's head to the SEC.
13:58We just told you a fun topic where only one player in the SEC stayed four years with his
14:03own program.
14:04A lot of moving chairs.
14:05And Texas is going to take on Arkansas tonight.
14:08You take a look at Arkansas winning the game outright here, Joe, a 73% chance.
14:12Texas listed only 27%.
14:14If we look at the total on the side, minus 7.5% as a favorite for Arkansas tonight.
14:19Trading at 52%.
14:20And the total at 164 and a half, Joe, that's trading at 51% as a chance.
14:27Yeah.
14:27Listen, and to me, this is a Arkansas team, Donnie, that has huge home road splits this
14:34year.
14:34When Arkansas plays at Bud Walton, they are a different team.
14:38They look like a top five team in the country.
14:41They can drop 100 points on you in a heartbeat.
14:44When they're on the road, not so much.
14:47Listen, Texas just came off a nice win over A&M.
14:51They lost at home.
14:53They beat A&M on the road here.
14:55Now they got to go back on the road here into a hostile environment.
14:59It feels like this is a game.
15:01Arkansas will control the tempo and the scoring, Donnie.
15:06I think this has got double-digit win for Arkansas written all over it.
15:11Arkansas's offense, according to Ken Palm, number two overall inefficiency, number one
15:15overall in effective field goal percentage, and more importantly, number one at not turning
15:18the basketball over.
15:19And Joe is right.
15:20If Bud Walton Arena, as compared to home and away splits here, Arkansas gets after it.
15:23We'll see what Coach Cal and the boys have in store.
15:26Let's head over to the Big East tonight, Joe.
15:27Usually, this would be a doormat game.
15:29Villanova taking on DePaul.
15:31Not so fast.
15:32DePaul's won four of the past five games.
15:34Villanova, I believe, has lost two of their past three.
15:36But Villanova still coming in with a 62% chance to win this game on the money line.
15:40DePaul at 38%.
15:42However, Villanova is favored at minus three and a half, trading at 52%.
15:46And the total is listed at 52% chance of 135 and a half to the over there, Joe.
15:52Villanova, DePaul.
15:53How about this one in the Big East tonight?
15:55Yeah, well, I mean, this is a battle, Donnie, that Villanova has kind of dominated over the
16:01years, like most people have dominated DePaul.
16:03But this is a different DePaul team.
16:06I mean, kudos.
16:07They have really flipped the switch, and things started to figure out for them.
16:11Chris Altman's done an amazing job for them.
16:14I mean, this is one of the best DePaul teams that we've seen in a very, very long time.
16:18And all of a sudden, one win away, and this will be the most wins that they have had in
16:24almost forever.
16:24So I don't like the current form of Villanova.
16:28But this is one of those spots where Villanova is going to chuck up a ton of threes.
16:32If they don't fall, Donnie, guess what?
16:34DePaul gets that win and finally breaks this cycle of Villanova dominating.
16:39You've got to love Nova at home getting points.
16:42The Blue Demons, rather, at home with DePaul getting points tonight.
16:46Yeah, look, last couple games of the regular season for these college basketball teams,
16:50as we told you, heading into conference tournament next week, and away we go into March Madness.
