00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met
00:03Office. Now today we saw some sunshine away from some central and southwestern
00:09areas a bit damp in places. That cloud was stuck under high pressure and that
00:14high pressure which has brought the brighter and quieter weather further
00:17north and west is drifting eastwards through into Wednesday allowing weather
00:22fronts to move in from the Atlantic. Slow process with this cloud and rain but it
00:27will bring some wet weather as we head through to Wednesday night as well as
00:30Thursday some sherry bursts ahead of it as well and after some mild air we'll see
00:35colder conditions on Friday with a touch of frost but also the chance of some
00:39sunshine yet again. For the time being you can see this weak weather front here
00:43that cloud still remains and it is edging northwards some sherry bursts blossoming
00:48towards the southwest certainly across the Republic of Ireland the Irish Sea and
00:52moving towards Northern Ireland into the early hours of tomorrow morning eventually
00:56the southwest of Scotland as well. Now further south and east it's a bit murky
01:01overnight with some mist and fog patches of frost to start the day across the
01:05north and the east of Scotland with some sunshine coming through and after a chilly
01:10evening we'll see the clouds slowly move in across Northern Ireland temperatures
01:14recovering slightly. First thing then tomorrow morning when any low cloud or
01:19murk will gradually burn off across England and Wales a prospect of some
01:22sunshine here. These sherry bursts of rain gradually clear Northern Ireland through the
01:27morning into the afternoon and push towards the highlands of Scotland the
01:31central belt as well dry skies towards the northeast but we remain under cloudy
01:35skies for Northern Ireland and Western Scotland you can see that rain gradually
01:40moving in. Now here are your temperatures are through tomorrow afternoon we have
01:45ten to twelve across Scotland and Northern Ireland and Northern England but for the
01:50rest of England and Wales rising very nicely help with that sunshine so the
01:54mid teens if not higher down towards the southeast across the home counties we
01:59could see 16 even 17 degrees Celsius and it will be warmer still on Thursday here. A bit of a
02:05breeze towards the western side of Scotland and Northern Ireland Irish Sea coast as
02:10well through Wednesday afternoon and there will be a little shallery rain as we enter
02:15evening time particularly across more central and eastern areas pushing towards
02:19Shetland as this rain rolls in across Northern Ireland as well as Western Scotland
02:24into Wednesday evening and overnight. A few mist and fog patches can't be ruled out
02:28for England and Wales under starry skies into Thursday morning but a cloudier start to
02:33the day across Scotland without breaks of rain for Northern Ireland and Western
02:37Scotland. Temperatures holding up probably six seven eight degrees Celsius in the towns and cities
02:42across England and Wales. A similar situation further north and west but a wet start to the day across
02:48these western parts here and that rain gradually makes inroads eastwards through Thursday morning
02:54and into the afternoon and notice by lunchtime we'll see a bit more cloud for the west country as well
03:00as Wales a little rain in the mix here but further south and east you'll see some sunshine through the
03:06day
03:07and it's going to feel warm and pleasant in that sunshine spring-like as we see that rain just all
03:13across Scotland with some showers following across the northwest of Scotland as well as Northern Ireland
03:18and here the air turns colder through Thursday afternoon and into evening time this is a cold front the air's
03:24colder behind it but notice through the afternoon 18 or 19 towards the southeast there and we'll see that cloud
03:32gradually move in through Thursday evening and overnight across England and with that the rain gradually
03:38pushing eastwards as well so here's that weather front you can see a real marked contrast in temperature
03:44through Thursday evening and overnight into Friday so the chance of a frost as we head through to Friday
03:50morning across more northern and western areas but the chance also of some sunshine we hang on to more clouds
03:56across eastern counties until later now if you want a deep dive into our weather take a look at our
