10:30a half three games then who developed that if you want to say you weren't patient enough you
10:35misplayed it i am completely here for that but this whole steve kerr doesn't develop young people
10:42we've got a list of players that that we can point to that have developed into something whether it's
10:49big large medium small i mean guise santos is a success story also though it is not steve kerr's job
10:56to develop young players particularly when in the midst of a star-laden dynasty it's just not his job
11:05what's the player's job it's the coach's job it's everyone's job and so when you look at development
11:10that's always one for me that is a complete misnomer because you as a player have to get better
11:16on your own and the coach has to play you so you can go out there and show that you
11:21are actually
11:21getting better and you're playing well but when you have a team like this like you said if you're
11:26out there trying to win titles you're not going to be able to just play like you are this year
11:30like
11:31this year all right gee go out there and we're going to start you gee because we have no choice
11:35and you know pat spencer and pods and all the rest of them go out there and play because we
11:40don't have
11:40staff we don't have jimmy we don't have poor zingas we don't always have al or melton because you know
11:46they can't play back-to-backs and so you're going to be able to be more developed now just based
11:52on
11:52necessity coming you didn't have that luxury no he did not and so i like i'm i'm much more comfortable
12:00with the warriors as an organization totally misplayed this some reasons are understandable
12:07some are a little bit of a head scratcher but i i don't know why this heads into that snowball

12:15down to the head coach can't develop young talent i don't i don't understand for 15 years they've been
12:24a great organization they've won four titles you could argue that he at least had a hand in
12:30developing the superstars that that played there and continue to play there right um we can point

12:43kerr being made fun of for even looking at ty jerome who's now like a player in this league i

12:51know why that's become something that just constantly gets regurgitated it like i i would
12:59never look at it like imagine if the patriots had a few drafts tom bradiera and like a player comes

13:07and they did by the way they had a number of first rounders come in and just bust and imagine

13:13like bill belichick he can't develop young players i'm like what are we even talking about
13:18that who the hell in the middle of all that success is like head coach we need some time over
13:24here we need a separate wing where you're developing the young players that's not his job
13:29like it's his job to like win the game and see how to do that and put the best players

13:36he's got a hand in this whole situation but the steve kerr doesn't develop young players thing to me i
13:43don't i don't understand how that became it's a little bit like in the nfl we talk about a system
13:47quarterback oh he's just a system quarterback well they're all system quarterbacks and if you want to
13:52go to the nba every coach it's their job to develop young players but you develop them and they only
13:59develop as far as they're able to get better on their own and they're able to play with you in
14:05your system so you can look at guys like kevon looney who i believe was a first or second year

14:12when steve kerr took over and now he's still in the in the league and he's been a champion so
14:17did he not develop kevon looney did he not develop jordan pool or does jordan pool i mean jordan pool
14:23goes out there and he goes to the g league and he gets better and then he wins a title

14:28dealt and well he's not playing as well as he used to here so does steve kerr get credit for
14:34that or no
14:35you give credit to jordan pool for getting better so i think that we use like the whole idea of
14:40development we use it as a double-edged sword where if a guy gets better well the guy just did
14:46that i mean he got better and if he doesn't get better then it's on the coach you're 100 right
14:51you're you're 100 this is one that always kind of bugs me it's a little bit of a pet peeve

14:56because you know maybe it's just because i coached and you know when i coached and won titles it's like
15:02oh you're an amazing coach no my team was awesome and then you go out two years later and your
15:08team's not
15:08very good it's like man you're not the same coach you used to be by the way uh as fans

15:15we even start bringing up player development is halfway through a season when we realize our team
15:19sucks right that's how it works watch watch what happens in july if the giants suck this year
15:27ah you bring up uh beau and bryce bring them up bring them up give them all the reps let's

15:36them that's what a fan says when your team stinks and your season is cooked which has been very rare
15:43for the warriors at any point over the last decade and a half so again i'm not excusing the whole
15:52experience yeah they blew it they blew it but the player development thing that's the wrong answer
15:57my opinion yeah for me i always look at it in this lens where you take a player they're here
16:03and then
16:04they go elsewhere and what happens like did they not develop eric paschal the warriors well he had
16:10his best year here under steve kerr that that year of covid and steph was out and then he's gone

16:16do what where james wiseman another one where he was here and you know he went out and played elsewhere
16:23and i guess he still is playing basketball somewhere but i don't know i look at things like that and

16:29at a player who goes on elsewhere and does great well then you look at this situation and say all
16:34right you might have screwed it up and kaminga he might be the uh the poster child for that um

17:28the league with flaws and none of those flaws um ever vanished he kind of was still the same guy

17:40they're gonna eventually ask him to do a little bit more and he ain't gonna want to do it and
