00:00What's up, Bay Area? It's Will Richard from the Golden State Warriors.
00:03You're listening to Willard and Dibbs on 95.7 The Game,
00:06coming to you live from the Laughing Monk Studios.
00:09Oh, that man is about to go for 30 tonight.
00:14Like 30 points, 30 minutes? 30 for 30? For 30 for 30?
00:19He might go for 40 tonight.
00:22He might get that many shots.
00:23He might go for 50 tonight.
00:25I mean, you got Steph, you got Jimmy, you got Draymond, they're all,
00:30Al, they're all going to take up shots, aren't they?
00:33Breaking news.
00:3495.7 The Game, breaking news.
00:40Go ahead and make it official what has already been widely speculated.
00:46In addition to Steph Curry being out tonight,
00:49it is official that Jimmy Butler is out.
00:51It is official that Draymond Green is out.
00:54Al Horford was already officially out.
00:58Buddy Heald is in.
01:01Jonathan Kaminga out as well.
01:03We knew that already.
01:04So, D'Anthony Melton's still out.
01:06Well, tonight, hopefully it's Batman.
01:09But we do have a D'Anthony Melton injury update as well
01:13that the Warriors have just released moments ago.
01:16He continues to make good progress with his rehab,
01:19has intensified workouts in recent weeks,
01:22participated in practice and scrimmages with Santa Cruz on multiple occasions.
01:28He will continue to be integrated into full practices
01:30when the Warriors ever practice.
01:32We'll see when that happens.
01:33But, he is moving closer and will be re-evaluated again in 10 days.
01:4110 days from right now, another re-evaluation for D'Anthony Melton,
01:46which I think would be Saturday...
01:49Hmm.
01:50Is that the 30th?
01:52Saturday the 30th?
01:54Something.
01:55Anyway, 29th, 30th, whatever, something.
01:58Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend is when we will get another re-evaluation
02:02and therefore update on D'Anthony Melton.
02:05But again, circling back tonight, official, no Steph, no Jimmy, no Draymond, no Al, no Jonathan.
02:13Everybody else good to go.
02:15Yeah, sounds good.
02:16And I'm not surprised about Buddy because all Buddy does is play.
02:20And last year he played 82.
02:22The year before that he played 84 games, which both of those totals led the league.
02:26Last year he was one of only 10 or 11 players to play in every game.
02:30So unless Buddy's really hurt, he's not going to load manage.
02:34And you know what, Buddy?
02:35Tonight's a night for you to go out there and go 6 for 17 from 3.
02:39Find your shot.
02:40Like, just find it.
02:41You don't have to find it and be amazing, but just go ahead and look for it, right?
02:46Like, you don't have to even find it.
02:47Go out there and just look for it.
02:49Gosh, the Buddy thing is a head-scratcher.
02:51I don't know how you feel.
02:53For me, it's one thing if somebody is struggling to find their shot.
02:58Buddy seems to be struggling to find his way.
03:02That's what I find very concerning and why I think multiple, not just Jimmy, multiple people
03:10with the Warriors leadership group have screamed at Buddy just over the last five days on the court.
03:18Steve Kerr did it in San Antonio.
03:20Or I'm sorry, it was in New Orleans.
03:21In New Orleans, a game that was well in hand the entire time and was in the closing moments.
03:28And Steve barked at him because Buddy almost threw away an inbounds pass, which, by the
03:32way, he's done about eight times this year.
03:35I don't know what on earth Buddy is doing out there right now.
03:39He doesn't know what he's doing.
03:41And so I fully get that people seem to think that what Jimmy did last night was like mean
03:46or something.
03:47These are big boys who've been around the block a thousand times.
03:52Buddy is a grizzled veteran as well.
03:54And the bottom line is Jimmy has admitted right upon arrival, I hate turnovers.
03:59I hate them with a passion.
04:01I hate turnovers.
04:03Steve Kerr, what does he talk about?
04:04What's the Warriors' problem right now?
04:06Turnovers.
04:07And who seems to be trying to catch the ball with two pieces of wet newspaper so far this
04:14year?
04:15Who is not taking care of his passes more than anyone?
04:20Forget any talk about Jonathan or Draymond or whatever.
04:24Buddy healed.
04:25Good gracious.
04:28Like, we need to hire Debo to be like, dude, hit your clapper.
04:34Dude, lock in.
04:35Well, his turnovers are down.
04:36Year over year.
04:37Well, his minutes are way down.
04:39Yes, but the problem with Buddy is that his three-point shots are down.
04:43Last year, he took 6.7 threes per game over 23 minutes.
04:48This year, he's playing a little bit less, 17 minutes a game, and he's shooting three and
04:52a half threes a game.
04:54So he's missing his threes, but he's not even taking his threes.
04:57And so last night, and that's where I thought that the Jimmy Butler thing, like, Jimmy gets
05:02mad at him.
05:03I'm never throwing you the ball again.
05:04Fine, Jimmy.
05:05Like, honestly, why are you trying to throw the ball to Buddy healed, cutting down the
05:08lane anyway?
05:09So Buddy's cutting from the top of the key down toward the basket.
05:13And is that really what we're doing on offense?
05:16You know, Buddy, you should never be cutting toward the hoop.
05:18And Jimmy, you should never be throwing him the ball cutting toward the hoop.
05:22So Buddy needs to be a spot-up, in the corner, on the wing, above the break, three-point shooter.
05:29And right now, he's lost his confidence or whatever's happening.
05:32He's not doing the one thing he's best at.
05:34Yeah, I get that.
05:35But some of these things are just like, I don't know.
05:38They look like the simplest things out there.
05:41He's turning the ball over in the oddest spots, inbound passes, simple, just A to B things.
05:49So I get it.
05:50The Warriors are frustrated with his play right now.
05:53Okay, Dub Nation, let's get engaged.

06:08Here we go.
06:09And this is another thing that I think kind of loops into our overall point.
06:13At the start of the road trip, I felt like this fan base, I thought we had an agreement.
06:18That's how I felt.
06:19Tell me if I'm wrong.
06:21I thought we all agreed that a three-in-three road trip, all things considered, was a success.
06:28Still feel that way?
06:29No.
06:30Okay.
06:30I mean, new information.
06:31Right, that's fair.
06:32When you steal one, if not two, at San Antonio, then you start to recalibrate.
06:36I get it.
06:36And you have a different thought.
06:38And so if they lose tonight, which is not a given, but if they do, it is that three-in-three trip,
06:44which so many of us said represented a successful trip.
06:48But do you still feel that way?
06:50It's a yes or no question on 95.7 The Game's Twitter page.
06:55Go vote now, and then we will share the results later.
