00:04We were riding through the streets when we got stopped by a local boy who was holding this teeny
00:09little puppy. He gave the puppy to us and was on his way. We named her Squish. She was only
00:14about a month old. We took her to the vet, gave her the deworming medication. She was
00:19unfortunately ridden with fleas and ticks, so we gave her a bath to clean her up. Nothing like
00:23this has ever happened to us, but we knew that we could not put the puppy back out on the
00:27street.
00:28She slowly started to eat more and more as her appetite started to come around. She became
00:32more comfortable with us and her little personality started to come out. Unfortunately, it wasn't
00:40feasible to take her back home to Dubai with us, so we knew we had to try and find a
00:44home for little
00:45Squish. I was given a few places to go, but one person in particular was referenced to me multiple
00:49times. Connie from Loku's Dogs and Cats Care Foundation, luckily based in Trincomale. However,
00:55we weren't very hopeful given that we had contacted her within a day of us having to leave and the
01:01backup option was that Squish would travel around Sri Lanka with me until I found her a home. But I
01:06know that would have been much harder as I definitely would have gotten a lot more attached. Within a day
01:10of contacting Connie and telling her Squish's story, she found a sponsor family who were happy to look
01:15after her for a month. But lucky for us, this lovely family said that they would love to adopt her
01:19after the four weeks were up.
01:25We were incredibly lucky with the outcome and are super grateful to Connie and her team
01:30for finding little Squish her forever home.
