00:00I came upon Tiki through following Isabel Klee on Instagram, SimonSix.
00:07Good boy.
00:11I was forwarding it to my husband, Vince.
00:14I was like, I think this dog is supposed to be our dog.
00:18When Aubrey and Vince adopted Tiki,
00:20they knew that there would inevitably be a period of regression
00:23as he adjusted to his new home.
00:26But during those early days, Aubrey caught her husband playing the guitar for Tiki
00:31and suddenly she had her, we're going to be okay moment.
00:36I realized his curiosity was going to help get him much further.
00:46Walks were a really important introduction for us, for Tiki.
00:52It was going to allow us to get him more comfortable with the outside world.
00:58Walks were especially difficult for Tiki,
01:00but with some patience, he started making huge strides.
01:05Hi, sir.
01:07Today, Tiki is so excited to go on walks.
01:11It's probably one of his favorite things he does every day.
01:14Tiki, Tiki.
01:17Are you excited to go for, are you excited to go for a walk?
01:23Are you excited?
01:30And Tiki's siblings didn't just help him learn how to build his confidence.
01:35Gaia in specific helped him learn how to embrace being a dog.
01:39Literally.
01:39She'll start howling for me.
01:41And Tiki copied her one day.
01:47He would watch her and he would start trying to howl like her, throw his head back.
02:06Time, patience, and support from Tiki's family did wonders for him.
02:12And these days, he's really embracing his troublemaker side.
02:16Tiki.
02:17Tiki.
02:23Fine.
02:24Seeing a dog who went from taking these slow baby steps out from under the bed
02:30to suddenly stealing every kitchen towel in his sight
02:34has to be my favorite full circle moment from this story.
02:47Tiki's world has become so much bigger because of his own bravery, but also because of the
02:53gentleness that his parents provided while he found that bravery.
02:57This story isn't just a reminder of how resilient our pets can be, but it's also a reminder of
03:03how when we give a dog the time and space that they need, the bonds that we form with them
03:08are everything.
03:10Good job.
03:12Good job.
