00:00This is Outperform Yesterday, presented by Kayaks.
00:04They did it. The United States men's hockey team is the greatest hockey team in the world.
00:10You better believe it after an absolutely heart-stopping 2-1 victory in overtime against Canada here in Milan today.
00:17Devil's star Jack Hughes was the OT hero for Team USA.
00:21Just a fitting way for him to end the tournament after building his game each and every time he stepped
00:26out onto the ice.
00:27And he gets to celebrate it with his brother Quinn, who led the team with eight points.
00:31The two were actually sitting next to each other at the podium after the win, just soaked in whatever alcohol
00:37was flying in the locker room back there.
00:39Quinn couldn't have been more proud of his brother, who he implied has taken some unnecessary criticism up until this
00:45point.
00:46But what a tournament for the Americans.
00:48From top to bottom, Team USA had a plan going into these Olympics, and they executed it.
00:53They had chemistry, they had camaraderie, they had a strong team mentality, and my God, they were having so much
01:00fun during it all.
01:01They embraced the Olympic experience, immersed themselves in the Olympic Village.
01:06Quinn was saying the Kachuk brothers' door was open for the entire two weeks they were here.
01:11And that apparent bond is what got so many of these players on this roster.
01:15Guys like Rangers forwards JT Miller and Vincent Trocek, they were the ultimate role players for Team USA.
01:21They were the heart of a perfect penalty kill unit that went 18-for-18 in this tournament, including a
01:2793-second 5v3 Canada power play tonight.
01:30Of course, Conor Hellebuck deserves just as much credit for all that, and his teammates definitely gave it to him.
01:36Brock Faber said he skated up to Hellebuck in between every whistle to tell him he was the best goalie
01:42in the world, and he truly was in this tournament.
01:44Just an all-around memorable return to the Olympics for the NHL, not just for the players, but for all
01:50the kids watching at home.
01:52It's the first time both the men's and women's USA hockey teams have won gold, so everybody at home got
01:57to see a little bit of history this week.
02:00Thanks for watching all of our Olympic coverage here at the New York Post.
02:03We'll see you next time.
