00:00The Olympics, are you enjoying right now?
00:02Well, we're waiting for the men to take the ice,
00:04which is actually going to take place a little bit later today,
00:06where it's like, all right, let's get to the good stuff.
00:09USA versus Canada in women's and men's hockey.
00:12Team USA for the women's side hammered Canada 5-0.
00:15Team USA in Canada, I don't know if they play in group play or stage play.
00:18They probably do at this point because there's not a lot of teams
00:20like there would be in basketball.
00:22And then you'll see in the medal round who's going to get the goal.
00:25But let's go over there to Milan Cortino
00:27and check in at what exactly is going on on the medal count, Joe.
00:3113 for Norway, 13 for Italy.
00:33And here comes the United States ramping up the board with 12 total medals.
00:39Gotta love it, right?
00:40Four, six, and two, Donnie, right?
00:42Four gold, six silver, two bronze.
00:45Through what, five days of competition here?
00:49Not bad at all.
00:50And the best, I think, is yet to come, too.
00:53I think we've still got a few more golds waiting for us here in this one.
00:58So 79, in fact, remain.
01:01We'll see exactly how many of those 79 the U.S. can get.
01:06Controversy at the Olympics.
01:07It's just simple.
01:08When you go to the main stage here, sometimes they just ask you.
01:11You can do whatever you want.
01:12Have fun.
01:12Speak your mind.
01:13But don't be political with anything that you wear during the Olympic Games.
01:17You can't have a patch.
01:18You can't have a commemorative, you know, flag on your shirt or whatever.
01:21And what you can't do is have a helmet honoring athletes killed in the war against Russia.
01:26It's simple.
01:27Just don't be political.
01:29Play in the Olympic Games.
01:30Go home and be political.
01:32Some people can't understand that.
01:33And Vlachesav Hershevik is out of the Olympics because he chose to be political.
01:40I mean, all that time and energy that you put into actually making it to the Olympics is just –
01:49and you throw it all out because it just – I don't get it, Donnie.
01:53I mean, the Olympics is about the Olympics.
01:55It's about the competition there.
01:57Plenty of other opportunities to make your stance known.
02:00But the Olympics – and they told them, right, ahead of time, this is not the place for it.
02:06And now he's out of the Olympics.
02:08Unbelievable.
02:08Now he's saying, hey, Donnie, you cannot come on this network and wear a blue shirt.
02:13And I'd be like, well, I'm going to wear a blue shirt anyway.
02:14And then I get sent home.
02:15It's like, ah, that's not fair.
02:16No, they told me I couldn't do that.
02:18But he had decided to do that at this point here.
02:20Let's get over to Canada here, Joe.
02:22How about – I'm going to try this here.
02:23Piper Gillet and Paul Poirier take home bronze in the ice dance.
02:29I don't know if that's how you pronounce their names, but that's how I pronounce them.
02:33I mean, listen, they – if you watch any of that, Donnie, they are –
02:37Yeah.
02:38That's impressive, actually.
02:39Yeah.
02:40No, they actually are better on skates than I am walking.
02:44It's kind of crazy there because I don't think you can do any of that dance with shoes on, much
02:50less skates.
02:51I am amazed with that.
02:53I really, really am on how they do that.
02:56And by the way, taking a look from The Athletic yesterday through The New York Times,
02:59American ice dancers Madison Chalk and Evan Bates earned silver.
03:02Now, that was one of the groups – I thought they were heavily favored to possibly get the gold medal.
03:06So, you love to get the silver, but knowing if you're heavily favored, man, you wanted the gold.
03:10It is a medal.
03:11You can't be ashamed of that, but I think their eyes were on the gold, Joe.
03:14Yeah, no, we did.
03:16It was – you know, it's always crazy when silver is a letdown, right?
03:19But actually, listen, at this point, hammer home as many medals as you possibly can.
03:25We do have, of course, some predictive markets and some – might be some contracts on that, Donnie, that we
03:32have.
03:33So, we need medals, more medals.
03:34That's what we need, Team USA.
03:37How about this?
03:38After 118 years, Norway surpassed Sweden in the number of Olympic gold medals won here.
03:45You have 7-3 in this Olympics, which the totals over the years 220-219 now.
03:52Come on, Sweden.
03:53Let's go.
03:54Yeah, look at that.
03:56And listen, Norway has been an absolute machine over the last couple of decades, right?
04:01I mean, they were a favorite, once again, this Winter Olympics to get as many – all the golds, all
04:06the medals.
04:07It feels like they've got somebody – two or three people in every event, Donnie.
04:11It's kind of crazy.
04:13But, yeah, kudos to both of them.
04:14They have dominated the Winter Olympics for years now.
04:18Home ice advantage here, Joe.
04:20How about Italy claiming both gold in men's and women's double luge in events in their Olympic debut?
04:25How about that?
04:26The double luge, by the way.
04:27Do you ever see that, too?
04:27I think they lay, like, on top of each other.
04:29When are we going to get to the point, Joe, we have four or five people stacked up like a
04:33triple cheeseburger here going down there on the luge?
04:37Like, who's driving?
04:38Like, my goodness.
04:40Yeah, yeah.
04:40It's – like, my – but kudos to the whole nation there getting it done with the medals here, Donnie.
04:47Aren't they, Italy?
04:48Now, by the way, is it mixed?
04:50Like, is it men and women on the same thing, or is it just men separate and women separate?
04:54Because I got to tell you, ain't no way the woman is going to lay on the bottom and get
04:57crushed by the male on top, right?
04:59It had to be men's and women's at that point, right?
05:02Yeah, men and women, I believe, yes.
05:05Yeah.
05:05How about this next one, Joe?
05:06Free scout skiers.
05:07Elizabeth Lemley and Jalen Koff go gold and silver in the moguls, man.
05:13I'm telling you right now, you need an ACL, Joe.
05:16You need an ACL.
05:17You want to do moguls.
05:18You ever see that?
05:19Yeah, Cameron, all the way down the mountain.
05:21We're just getting started, people.
05:22Come on back.
05:22Let's have some fun.
05:24Winter Olympics style here.
05:25Ice hockey.
05:26We've watched the women play so far, and Team USA far and away the best team so far at the
05:30Olympics.
05:31Now, the men are starting to take the ice here, and later today, we'll have Team Canada in the game
05:36and also Team USA, both playing separately.
05:38We'll get to those in just a few minutes.
05:40But yesterday on the ice, Slovakia, 4-1 victory over Finland.
05:43And then the Swedes, a 5-2 victory over Italy.
05:47We saw this game, I believe, 2-2 at one point, as the heavy favorite Swedes on the puck line
05:52were minus 5.5 for this game.
05:55Sweden does pick up the victory, but Italy, showing a little fight there, Joe.
05:59A lot of fight for the home nation, right?
06:02Yesterday, a lot of fight that people didn't think they were going to see.
06:06But, yeah, they kind of punched back there, Donny.
06:10I was impressed, which should probably just go to tell us, right, that none of this is going to be
06:16easy when you get to the Olympics at this point.
06:19So, even Italy, who you don't associate with ice hockey in a whole lot of ways.
06:24Boy, they showed up last night.
06:26Final score aside, that game was pretty close for a while.
06:30Frozen vulcanized rubber, the pucks here, Joe.
06:33They don't feel too good.
06:34They say, you know what, if I'm a goalie, I had a couple saves a game here.
06:36How about 60 shots yesterday by Sweden, which was an NHL-error record here.
06:42Finland and Canada both held the previous record at 57.
06:45My man was taking bullets there as a goalie.
06:48Yeah, big time.
06:4916, and you got to give him credit, right?
06:51Hung in there, man.
06:52Just sat there and was, wow.
06:54It just felt like, you know, the guy in the goal where everyone's lining up at the blue line and
06:59just peppering shots at you one after the other pregame.
07:02That's kind of what it looked like in that game yesterday.
07:05You know, Joe, a lot of times in the NFL, I get angry at some of the concepts of the
07:09uniforms that they bring to us.
07:10Like, dude, your throwbacks are fantastic.
07:12We have this stupid new remake that you only wear your throwbacks two or three times a year.
07:16Check out Finland's uniforms here.
07:19I mean, Nike swoosh right there.
07:22Beautiful color scheme.
07:23You got the little, it looks like a lion dragon with a king's, you know, crown on at this point.
07:30And that's the dagger in a hand.
07:32I'm telling you right now, if an NHL team just made up their concept of, you know, we're going to
07:36be the, I don't know, the kings.
07:38Like at the LA Kings, that was their uniform.
07:41Sell out in minutes.
07:41It would be fantastic.
07:43Yeah, too bad the uniforms didn't, you know, the uniforms were better than the way Finland played actually yesterday.
07:49So it didn't help them actually get upset in that match yesterday.
07:53So kudos to Finland there.
07:56But I got to tell you, I loved, I love the, the coloring.
08:00And can we get any of these, Donnie, by the way, are they available on the, on the line?
08:06Because I was, I got Team USA's and I was wondering if any of the other nations, have you seen
08:10any of them?
08:11I haven't seen it, but I did see somebody upset they couldn't get the German one here, which looks fantastic.
08:16There are some really good color schemes and concepts that they have put together.
08:20Then sometimes, Joe, you look at the NHL and be like, why aren't we just getting these beautiful uniforms in
08:25the NHL on a night-to-night basis?
08:26Well, we'll never know at this point.
08:28Like the Rangers, Joe, it's the ugliest hell it's been that way for 70 years.
08:30Get rid of it here.
08:31Redesign it.
08:32I mean, my God.
08:32By the way, let's take a look at Team USA playing today on the ice.
08:36Finally, Joe, as an absolute monster favorite of minus 3,000.
08:41Puck line, minus one and a half.
08:43Total listed at six and a half going against Lafayette here, Joe.
08:46Did you know you could take any time goal scorer props here?
08:50Austin Matthews, Brady Kachuk, Jack Eichel, Matthew Kachuk here, Taze Thompson.
08:55Any eyeballs on this game, Joe?
08:57Should U.S. win easy?
08:58Should we be going over?
09:00And maybe just pick out somebody who's going to score a goal.
09:03Yeah, I think a message needs to be sent, right?
09:08And I think that's exactly what they're going to play like.
09:11I don't see Team USA taking their foot off the gas at all in this Olympics.
09:18I think if they can beat you by five goals, Donnie, they're going to beat you by five goals,
09:22and they're not going to apologize for it.
09:24Just like, by the way, the women are doing.
09:27Yes, just like the women here.
09:28But again, Team USA, women's hockey, very good.
09:32Team Canada hockey, pretty good.
09:33We'll see if they match up in the gold medal, silver medal.
09:35A huge upset if those two teams don't meet.
09:37Same thing on the men's side.
09:39Team USA and Canada for the gold medal.
09:40That's what we want to watch.
09:41That's what the ratings will produce.
09:43And Team Canada is going to open up their competition today as well, along with Team USA.
09:47They also are a heavy favorite in their game today, Joe.
09:51So as you flip it over and say to yourself,
09:52now, you know, which way do I want to go in this one?
09:54You say, all right, well, you can line it up and say,
09:57I want to take a puck line at minus one and a half.
09:59I want to take the minus 630 favorite on the money line, which does include, Joe.
10:02We just talked about U.S., minus 3,000, a six and a half total as well.
10:06How are we feeling about Team Canada opening up today?
10:10Connor McDavid, Nathan McKinnon, Kale McCart.
10:13Yeah, no, they're going to score some goals in this one too, Tani.
10:18There are going to be some goals scored here.
10:20I would not be sweating out unders in any of these games associated with Team Canada
10:26or Team USA at this point early on.
10:28Absolutely not.
10:30By the way, Joe, did you see me trying to string it out so the boys in the back would
10:33put the graphic up
10:33so I knew exactly what the numbers were, but the boys never put the graphic up.
10:37But as a pro, I went back to the book, got the numbers for the people, delivered it to you,
10:41Joe,
10:41and away we went.
10:42So let's get after it now at this point.
10:44Anytime goal scorer right now, Nathan McKinnon plus one third.
10:49And by the way, you read the U.S. guys.
10:51They're really good.
10:51But you read the Canada guys, McKinnon, McDavid, Reinhard, Crosby, Pospinock, Celebrini.
10:56I mean, just put them in a hat.
10:58Pick one out.
11:00You got Hall of Famers like on the third and fourth line.
11:03Like you've got to be.
11:04It's absurd how good the names are in Team Canada here.
11:10But again, you know, listen, it's ultimately it's going to be Team USA or Team Canada, right?
11:16You know, though we did see an upset yesterday with Finland already.
11:20So anything is possible, I guess.
11:22But you'd be hard pressed to bet against either of those two teams early on here in the group stage.
11:28Yes.
11:29Again, it's going to be fun to watch.
11:30You want that pride.
11:31And these teams hate each other.
11:33They love to represent their country, both of them.
11:35There's a lot of pride at stake in here.
11:36And then they'll go back to the NHL and try to win a Stanley Cup.
11:39But we're going to get some really good hockey over the next two weeks at this point,
11:41which still has Team Canada, Joe, as the favorite to win Olympic gold at minus 105.
11:47Team USA plus 200, followed by Sweden, Finland, Chechia, and Switzerland at this point right now.
11:52Yeah, and there's no ties, too, right, Donnie?
11:55We should know.
11:56And obviously, you know, total goals, total points, all those things matter early on in case there is any sort
12:04of tiebreaker needed.
12:05So expect teams to keep their foot on the gas here, especially early on.
12:12How about Finland and Canada, women's ice hockey?
12:15I believe that's 8.30 a.m.
12:16So coming up in roughly 40 minutes, minus 4,500.
12:20My goodness, you just take the puck line.
12:22Minus one and a half, why not?
12:24At this point, absolutely.
12:26Yeah, I mean, we know what that one's going to be destined to be, too, as well.
12:30But my goodness, good luck when you face Team USA at this point.
12:34Now, Cam, let's talk about some Winter Olympic hockey action today.
12:38Canada's going to take place 10.40 a.m.
12:40coming up in two hours.
12:41The U.S. is a little bit later.
12:42I say this time and time again.
12:43Sometimes on the national stages here, you don't have to actually love the sport.
12:47There's a lot of casual hockey fans, a lot of casual basketball fans.
12:50But when you get the teams, like Canada, they love their country.
12:54They have so much pride in playing for hockey.
12:56And then the U.S. always figures like the upstarts in hockey.
12:58They now love their sport, and they love playing for their country.
13:01I love the pageantry, and it starts today, Cam.
13:04So let's start with a little Canada and Chechia and USA Latvia today.
13:07Any action for you in either one of those games?
13:09Yeah, I'd be very scared to lay two and a half with Canada.
13:12I'm the prime minister, but I'm a realistic prime minister.
13:14And I'll tell you one thing, and Canadian-American relations, I'm the guy.
13:18Let's bring everybody back together.
13:19That's what I do.
13:20I want us to be all right here.
13:22Hey, I have USA women gold.
13:24They're killing everybody.
13:25They dummied Canada in hockey.
13:27But let's just say this.
13:28The underdogs against the spread, 2-0, guys.
13:32Finland lost to Slovakia outright, and the Italians were hanging with the Swedes in the third.
13:37Their goalie was standing on his head.
13:39Today's going to be a little bit different.
13:41It's unparlayable.
13:42You have to play these things on puck lines.
13:44I do believe the Americans are going to absolutely crush.
13:47Canada, I'm a little bit worried about.
13:48But I do have a parlay with Canada and Germany.
13:51The best I can find, Donnie, is minus 162.
13:53That's ridiculous.
13:54I know it's a lot of juice, but it's the Olympics.
13:57But I got something for you guys.
14:00Top point scores for each team.
14:02And shop around.
14:03I couldn't believe this.
14:05I went to six sites, Donnie, Joe, and Gabe and I were talking on the podcast.
14:09The best he found was plus 175.
14:12On FanDuel, I found Connor McDavid plus 325.
14:15Guys, you got to have different books.
14:17It's like you shop at different stores for different products.
14:19Plus 325 is amazing.
14:21And for Team USA, I think Robert Eichel is going to be absolutely monstrous.
14:26Producer Tommy knows as a former Buffalo.
14:28He's a former, like he's a Rochester Americans fan.
14:30But he knows Buffalo and Eichel's a machine this year.
14:33One of the better players in the league.
14:34Who actually doesn't get the respect he deserves.
14:36Plus 510.
14:37Are you kidding me?
14:38I see him at 3-1, 350.
14:40I'm getting a great price.
14:42So McDavid for Canada.
14:43Eichel, I know it's a little bit chalky.
14:45And I have one matchup bet.
14:47We got Makar for Canada versus Quinn Hughes of the United States.
14:51Minus 140 matchup bet.
14:53Who will have more points in the tournament?
14:55Kind of like our golf bet.
14:56So that's what I'm doing, guys.
14:57I got some action there.
14:58I think the Americans will take care of business.
15:00But Canada's in a bad spot.
15:02Like right off the bat.
15:03Like these teams are playing.
15:04Like these guys are not a joke.
15:05That's the whole thing.
15:06Like I'm looking at that.
15:08Chechnya's beaten Canada before.
15:10Like the Czech Republic, Dominic Hasek.
15:11I remember these days.
15:12But the USA should be able to take Latvia out to the woodshed.
15:15And I also like Germany.
15:17Over Denmark, I will lay one and a half, Donnie.
15:22Don't hinge your goal camp.
15:23Is that what it is?
15:24We'll talk about that later.
15:26As Prime Minister, I can't make decisions.
15:29I can't call John Cooper and say, hey, I'm worried about this.
15:33This is the best thing for Canada, though.
15:35If he's good, you ride him again.
15:36If he's junk, he gone.
15:38You know what I mean?
15:38That's the whole thing.
15:40Yes.
15:40And it's Darcy Kepler time.
15:42So this is actually smart playing Bennington.
15:44And if he gags, you know, okay, Bennington, nice role in the Four Nations, but the party's
15:48over.
15:49That's what I'm saying.
15:50Yep.
15:51You got it.
15:51Trust me.
15:52Everybody in Canada, the goaltending, a little bit shaky.
15:55It's a little bit shaky, but we'll see, Joe.
15:58We'll see.
15:59Bennington does tend to play better when things get better.
16:02Like, he played better in the Stanley Cup in the Four Nations, but have you watched him
16:05play this year?
16:06He's a sieve.
16:07So, yeah, there's a lot of problems there.
