NECA Fortnite x Texas Chainsaw Massacre Leatherface Figure Review

00:17but what are they doing with all the leftovers here's a look at the brand new neca fortnight

00:32inspired by the smash hit video game fortnight and the legendary texas chainsaw massacre franchise
00:37neca presents one of the horror's most iconic villains take control of leatherface as he
00:42appears in fortnight with a seven inch scale action figure leatherface includes interchangeable
00:46hands and his iconic in-game accessories prized peel back bling which magnetically attaches to
00:52the figure's back and his infamous chainsaw fortnightmare seems to be appealing to horror
00:56fans you had leatherface though the moment you said peeling before we find out what exactly has
01:01peeled off and what leatherface is carrying around with him what let's maybe first take the tape
01:06measure and see how tall the figure's gonna stand surprisingly enough i ordered this on neca site
01:11directly i ordered the entire set of three consisting also billy a puppet and also michael myers so we'll
01:16be looking at those in some upcoming reviews they also seem to ship them quite fast too the previous
01:22times i've ordered from neca site where it has kind of taken a while for things to show up
01:26these seem to arrive pretty fast after i ordered them for how tall leatherface is going to be
01:30though the tape measure is telling me he's a little over seven inches i would think be safe to say
01:35he's
01:36probably about seven and a quarter that's going to work out to be a figure though that's about
01:3918 and a half centimeters tall lining them all up not to slaughter but for sizing here's what the
01:44figure looks like with the most recently released neca texas chainsaw massacre ultimate leather face
01:49thinking though that they probably would have used some of the body elements it doesn't seem to be
01:53the case in fact he's actually a little bit shorter than the ultimate here's also what the
01:57figure looks like with a more dated release of him but the retro cloth release of texas leatherface
02:01and for good measures just because i happen to have him nearby here's also what he looks like
02:05with the one from toony tears also surprised to see that the chainsaw that comes in clue with
02:10fortnight's leather face isn't in fact the same reused one that we got with the ultimate
02:14look at the size difference really between the two maybe you could look at them and think that no
02:19it's not even like the engine is the same this one's clearly a lot wider it's clearly a lot more
02:24yellow and the blade and teeth are a lot longer than the previous one for that reasons some could
02:30choose maybe to use this one from the fortnight leather face to be displayed with their ultimate
02:34just because again it's a little bit longer of a blade and it looks a little meaner although this
02:39one had a whole lot more blood realizing probably it's not a good idea to put my fingers
02:43anywhere near the teeth seeing that the teeth have already been generously used this again not a bad
02:48looking chainsaw but again i was surprised that the fortnight leather face had a much longer one
02:53this can be held in his hands by the way i don't know why i was doing this by the
02:56way
02:56he can be held in hands although i've already taken the liberty of removing the hands that came with
03:01the figure when you get him first out of his packaging he comes with just these relaxed hands
03:05now again you can just pop those off from the hands i'll show you guys those in a second
03:09um and then again you're just going to take the chainsaw the thing at least about the
03:13plastic for the hands is really even without heating them they seem soft enough that you
03:17can pry them away yourself and then just take the handle of the chainsaw and fit that into his hand
03:23now one thing though about chainsaws leather face here from fortnight i guess really the original
03:28chainsaw leather face also had the same problem too he only seems to have a single hinge in his elbow
03:33i mean granted you could still bend the elbow and with having a bend on the other arm as well
03:37you just kind of bring that around and you can have him holding on to the handle of the chainsaw
03:42fine i also had him at the beginning of the review while he was rotating on the somewhat clean for
03:48right now rotisserie i had him actually with the arm with the chainsaw and his arms up a little bit
03:53higher but if you wanted to have him a little more closer to his chest you can also just have
03:57the
03:57figure displayed that way as well to show by the way how to swap out the hands can i also
04:04just say
04:04one thing about the fortnight leather face and because this is only the first figure that we've
04:08looked at from this new fortnight line the fort nightmares seems to have a different type of
04:12plastic i can't quite put my finger on it well i guess technically i'm putting my finger on it right
04:16now it seems really like it's a different type of plastic that neck has used for this figure and
04:21just to again show you quickly here the ultimate leather face i don't know it seems almost like the
04:28plastic is i wouldn't really want to describe it as mcfarland plastic but it doesn't feel the same
04:34way that an ultimate neca would have felt before maybe like neca started to overhaul the type of
04:39plastic that they're using just to ensure though that when you are kind of moving things around on
04:43the figure things aren't necessarily going to be breaking by the way though not to break the figure
04:48let's just go ahead and remove his hand the hand just wiggles back and forth pops that off find of
04:53course the hand that has the thumb facing inward and pop it back in place and hands are fairly easy
04:59to change no issues there whatsoever uh and then finally the figure does also come include his
05:05prized bling in this case look how happy this guy is now i don't know the poor sucker that had
05:11to
05:11have his face peeled off like this probably wasn't as happy as the skin is now but you get yourself
05:16this little peeled skin bling that basically just goes on the back of his body now with swapping
05:22out the hands his hand doesn't really hold that all that well i guess you could also take the bling
05:27and fit inside his hand but the planned purpose for this is you take yourself the bling frame frame
05:32the bling frame and it's magnetized you just attach it onto the back of his body billy the puppet has
05:39that
05:40also as well michael myers has the entire pumpkin we'll be looking at him as well and they attach the
05:45exact
05:45same way nice strong magnets certainly not not at all going to be going anywhere on the on you
05:50i like that nice little place to store that i would imagine though i haven't really played much in the
05:55way of fortnight i would think that when you do play these characters you're walking around with
05:59the bling on the back of the body it just so happens though that leatherface is walking around
06:03with somebody's leather peeled off and stretched across this metal frame at least it looks like a
06:09middle frame but then off to the side let's get a closer look now at leatherface you know i gotta
06:15say there's something about this figure that i find is just charming i mean normally though you
06:19really wouldn't want to consider a cannibal to be all that charming but there is certainly more a
06:24simple design to the character no better of a way to show you guys than to bring back in the
06:29ultimate
06:29leatherface from before i mean like if you look at really like the mass they have smoothed over a lot
06:33of the features he certainly also has a much smaller face than the original ultimate leatherface
06:38but nothing at all seems shared between the two to even like the point where i was looking at the
06:43apron would they have maybe used the apron again it doesn't seem to be the case he has a tie
06:49now the
06:49tie is tucked into the back unlike though this leatherface where the tie was a separate piece
06:55i always feel like i'm gonna break that off by accident this tie you don't really have anything
07:00to worry about he has like a very large thick plastic apron that goes over top of it it is
07:05strapped
07:05on the back but it's not a real strap it's not a real tie it's actually just simulated as a
07:11strap of
07:11plastic goes from this end to the other end over here it does because of that limit some of the
07:16posability on leatherface there's not really as much that you can do with him uh even again like
07:21looking at his legs what's also funny too is that the pant leg on the fortnite version is notably
07:27higher than the original the legs at all don't seem shared between the two i mean like but look at
07:32the
07:32wrinkles on the thigh and on the lower leg this leatherface doesn't have it he doesn't also because
07:37the way he's designed have the large diaper that this first leatherface had he had a very large
07:43behind this leatherface from fortnite doesn't have that things i like also about this figure is that
07:49he's got this staining all on the back of his body this guy's been running around i mean some of
07:54that may also be from his bling i mean if this is somebody's face you would just think like the
07:59pus and everything that's left behind on skin would just sort of start to sweat its way on the
08:04back of his shirt isn't that lovely i just love that this is magnet i'm going to just leave this
08:10off because i know by by this process of moving things around i'm going to possibly pop the frame
08:15off just to show you guys again like the face sculpt on this it is more refined it is certainly
08:20a little
08:20bit more i don't want to say like illustrated but it definitely has much more of a refined look to
08:26the figure's face even again saying that for his shirt as well like he doesn't have nearly the
08:31number of stripes that the previous leatherface would have had he is more blockier in design as
08:36well his arms don't have any of the arm hair he's missing of course the the bracelet doesn't have that
08:41now this time around but you know i again i really like the look of this character i like also
08:45that
08:45they darken this color down below here so it sort of looks more like a sunset sun is rising sun
08:51is
08:51setting and as it sun sets obviously you get the more darker color of that auburn orange
08:55more lighter there on the top um again he doesn't really have as much as the realistic features in
09:02his face but why does he have to anyways after all he's pulled from a game leatherface's articulation
09:08though it's about really the same as the other leathers in that the head does rotate all the way
09:12around it's on a ball joint it does move up and down it does seem also like he's got a
09:16ball joint at
09:17the base of his neck see the way that i'm kind of moving it up and down it looks like
09:20there's a gap
09:21now the gap is gone but again the head does also rock back and forth as well so you have
09:25a little
09:26more confused leatherface this would be probably the confused look that i would have if i set foot
09:30in the game of fortnite i'd probably just have people killing me all the time arms rotate all the
09:35way around i don't think that there's much struggle really getting the arms to rotate nor is there
09:41really a struggle at all to get the arms to hinge out at a t-pose he seems excited he's
09:45probably
09:45killed a couple of people he has a bend at the elbow just a single hinge he also has a
09:50rotation
09:50here for the forearm so it rotates all the way around hands do rotate all the way around as well
09:54hinge back and forth whether again you want to go with a relaxed hand whether again you want to stick
09:58with the grabbing hand for of course holding a chainsaw or again if you soften up the plastic
10:03probably may want to do that to get the frame of bling inside his hand i guess you probably could
10:08do
10:08that too i would only really worry about maybe breaking off these do look like everything is sculpted in
10:14place but i would just worry though trying to fit this into his hand if that ends up scraping the
10:18paint on the face again if we just assume it's a face he's made into a face so there you

10:24the torso if i can get in there actually is on its own ball joint but it's just really hard
10:29to move
10:29around it sways back and forth you can also turn it too legs split because he does also have sort
10:36of
10:37the apron parallel to his legs splitting out the legs don't seem to be that much of an issue
10:41moving them forward and well i guess forward is a little more of the issue moving them back not a
10:45problem at all swivel at the top of the thigh say what swivel at the top of the thigh single
10:52hinge
10:52only for the lower knee lower leg does rotate too and he has good sufficient ankle pivot a nice
10:58little ankle rocker as well i feel like this figure looks better in hand than he did online i mean

11:04i kind of went knowing going into this knowing that if i wanted realism i wouldn't necessarily apply to
11:09getting the leather face from fortnite if i wanted realism in my leather faces i would want to still
11:14stick with this one or again the pretty woman as well i wouldn't at all want to maybe be displaying
11:19this guy just because he he is i think long overdue on a on a re-release on him but
11:24you know i really
11:26like the look of this one it's fun too that they also include his little skin skin bling that you
11:31can
11:31also have displayed on the back of the figure's body the chainsaw also is a nice little touch i can't
11:36really think what other things they could have included of course when you go and run through
11:39the gambit the gambit of gore with the leather face of course you could have always thrown in
11:44there the the mallet or a sledgehammer or a hook or something like that but again not really playing
11:50much in the way of fortnite i couldn't really tell you does leather face even wield any of those
11:53things any of those weapons in the game or does he only really stick to his chainsaw if he sticks

11:58his chainsaw it's a good of course included accessory to come with the figure and the accessory of the
12:03chainsaw being better like this a little bit bigger of a chainsaw from the previous one for
12:07this one if you maybe want to upgrade and you think that maybe this guy's a downgrade just swift swat
12:13the chainsaws around give this one to this one and that much bigger one give that back to the ultimate
12:18instead now i believe fortnite does have an esrb rating of teens so it's recommend for ages 13 and up
12:24because leatherface does technically have the mindset of a child would anybody really restrict him from
12:28playing who are we kidding the guys waving around a chainsaw the chainsaw i when i looked at the
12:34figure inside of the packaging i sort of had the idea that he was probably going to be using a
12:38lot
12:38of brand new body molds nothing really borrowed over or maybe that they could have maybe used like
12:43the lower legs or the arms from the ultimate wasn't it wasn't the case at all but the thing that
12:48caught me off the guard the most was that the figure does have a chainsaw that is not at all
12:52the
12:52same mold as the ultimate because i thought if anything well if they're not going to have blood all over
12:58this even if this is leatherface after all we can't put blood all over his fortnite chainsaw
13:02but i still thought the chainsaw would be the same as the ultimate that's not the case at all so
13:08it's
13:08a great figure to pick up not just if you like fortnite but also if you happen to want to
13:12borrow
13:13the chainsaw from this figure and add it to the ultimate feeling like the one even though it was
13:17movie accurate with of course the colors and the size but if you thought it was maybe too small for
13:22bubba to wield with the ultimate by all means just borrow this one from bubba instead and have it
13:26displayed with the other figure he poses about the same really as the ultimate leatherface
13:30he does feel smoother for the obvious reasons that he's supposed to be like a game sprite so
13:35he's not going to have as many of the the deep cut details as the ultimate but i gotta say
13:40though
13:40there's something charming about this leatherface and a good way really to start as well because
13:44we're also going to be looking at coming up in upcoming reviews the billy the puppet also from
13:48fortnite and the frightmares the fightmares the fortnightmares i know i'm going to get that wrong
13:53saying it again uh and the michael myers as well good time too that we're going to be looking at
13:58the michael myers considering it is after all spottober season what do you guys think of the
14:03fortnightmares leatherface figure that's worth picking up where you're really happy just to have
14:07the ultimate and you're one with more you prefer your collection to be more movie accurate this one
