00:00In a world full of mock drafts, this is the mock draft.
00:05Mock draft 1.0 for the New York Post.
00:07Frankie Vitterini right here, repping gangs all here.
00:10New York Jets.
00:11B. London here, representing Blue Rush.
00:14All right, let's get straight into it.
00:1763 days until the NFL draft kicks off out in Pittsburgh.
00:22Yen's ready for a little NFL draft action.
00:26I actually got cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers,
00:28so I know the Yens, they say Yens out there.
00:31You know, Permanente Brothers, make sure you guys go out there, hang out,
00:35have a good time.
00:36To all my Jets and Giants fans, this is Jets and Giants focus.
00:40This is all about Big Blue and Gang Green.
00:43If you're an Eagles fan, Bills fan, whatever, you can still watch us cook.
00:47This ain't really for you.
00:49We are locked in for the Jets and Giants.
00:52But before we start, Frankie, I've got kind of an admission right here.
00:57I know you told me not to say it in the intro.
01:00Last time this happened to me, I was a little worried.
01:02Bro, this is that part of the offseason, that little not-so-sweet spot between the Super Bowl
01:09and the actual draft that I absolutely hate.
01:13I can't stay in a mock draft.
01:14There's millions of them out there.
01:16I hate hypotheticals.
01:18You know what I'm saying?
01:19Does that make me a bad person?
01:21The problem is there's too many.
01:23Okay, there we go.
01:24That's the issue.
01:24There's too many people doing these mocks, and it's tough to see or it's tough to base
01:29anything off of actual reality.
01:32I go back sometimes when the draft happens, and I'll be like, oh, who was right?
01:36You know, was Mel Kuyper right?
01:38Daniel Jeremiah?
01:39Yeah.
01:39We're going to try to be as right as we can, but yeah, I'm with you, man.
01:43There's too much information now out there.
01:45There's too many mocks, and everyone's doing a mock, so it gets to be a little OD, you know?
01:50But that's why the people at home are lucky that they got us.
01:55Exactly.
01:55Because we're going to bring a little flavor, we're going to bring a little action, some
02:00back and forth, some debate.
02:01Go ahead.
02:02Put the kids to sleep, ladies and gentlemen.
02:04Lock in.
02:05Let's talk some NFL draft, Jets and Giants style.
02:11Don't worry.
02:12We're going to get sound.
02:13We're going to get all that in future episodes.
02:15Right now, you just got to bear with Frankie doing the draft noise there.
02:19All right.
02:19Here's how we're going to do this.
02:20We're going to run it because we still are going to name the draft picks for other teams.
02:26We're going to go through the draft and the draft order.
02:28Not going to spend that much time on other teams, but we will go into depth, have a little
02:33back and forth discussion, discourse, debate, all that about what we think about each other's
02:39picks for each respective teams.
02:42Obviously, again, Frankie repping the Jets.
02:44I'm repping the Giants.
02:45I'll pick even.
02:46You'll pick odd.
02:47The Jets are 2-16, Giants are 5, so I'll be even.
02:50You'll be odd.
02:51You get two picks, though, man.
02:53Yeah, well, you know, that's how life works sometimes.
02:55Maybe you trade up.
02:56Maybe we'll do a mock eventually.
02:57Maybe this mock.
02:58The Giants will trade up.
02:59They traded up last year.
03:01Trade back into that first round.
03:03Let's do that next week.
03:04Let's do trades next week because I got a great hypothetical.
03:07Love it.
03:08Without further ado, I'm not Roger Goodell or anything, but how are we going to do?
03:12Because I got the first pick.
03:14How do we want to do this?
03:15Do I do it in Goodell voice, my chest foul?
03:18Can you do Goodell voice?
03:19No, I don't think I can do it.
03:20I don't think he has a memorable voice.
03:21Does he have a voice?
03:21Like, I don't even know what he talks like.
03:23All right, my bad, Roger.
03:24See you soon, though, bro.
03:26We're not on first-name basis like that, but it just made me feel cool.
03:30Call him Raj.
03:31Roger.
03:32All right.
03:33Now, without further ado, let's kick this thing off.
03:36The Vegas Raiders and Tom Brady and crew are on the clock.
03:41The first pick of the 2026 New York Post, mock draft 1.0.
03:49The Las Vegas Raiders select, surprise, surprise, Fernando Mendoza, quarterback, Indiana.
04:00Listen, man, this is the short thing, pick, coming out of this draft.
04:06I mean, there is a world I've heard where if the Raiders want to maybe look at another
04:11quarterback out there and make a big move, someone in the ilk of a Joe Burrow, maybe
04:16then that pick comes up for grabs.
04:18So you don't know what Vegas is going to do yet.
04:20You don't know.
04:21Who knows?
04:21Tom Brady's got relationships.
04:22You never know.
04:23But for all sakes and purposes, there's not much to get into.
04:27It's going to be Fernando Mendoza, 1-1.
04:29He does everything that you look for out of a quarterback.
04:32I will say I don't think he's a can't miss.
04:35I don't think he's Andrew Luck or Joe Burrow.
04:37I think he was in a system that was pretty rigid, and he was doing things based on what
04:42the offense was kind of telling him.
04:43All right.
04:44I don't know if he's a guy that could go back there with three or four wide and just
04:48go through his reads, even just by pressure, and just dish it out.
04:52He only threw for 300 yards once last year.
04:54Remember, he's not a guy that throws for 300 in his sleep.
04:57But this is the pick, and it's the right pick, obviously, for Vegas.
05:02All right.
05:02Well, the country fell in love with him.
05:05His interviews were a little weird to me, all that happiness.
05:09Like a little Tim Tebow-ish for me.
05:11I think it's a good thing.
05:13It's all good.
05:13You want to be a little off.
05:14Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:15Off is good these days.
05:16Especially as a quarterback.
05:16A lot going on.
05:17All right.
05:18He's got his hat on.
05:19He's walking off stage now.
05:22The New York Jets are officially on the clock.
05:26You know what, Brandon, and everybody out there, this is the pick the New York Jets need
05:32to make.
05:33And the pick is my man out of Texas Tech, the best pass rusher in this draft, and one
05:41of the best pass rushers in the last three or four drafts.
05:44I'm going to go that far.
05:45I'm picking my man, David Bailey, out of Texas Tech.
05:49That's my guy at two.
05:50I know Jeremiah had him at two.
05:52I think when all is said and done, and you look at his tape, and you look at what he's
05:56going to do at the combine, remember, this guy's a freak athlete.
05:58He was on Dave Feldman's freakish athlete list coming into the year.
06:03This guy can squat 550 pounds, Brandon.
06:07He can bench 405.
06:08He was clocked at over 22 miles an hour.
06:11This dude is a freak on all levels.
06:13He's got a freakish first step.
06:16He has great hand placement when it comes to knowing what to do with the offensive tackle.
06:22He feels the offensive tackles out and knows how to leverage them against themselves to
06:27get to the quarterback.
06:28Had one of the highest pressure rates last year in football and the year before was,
06:33I think, first on PFF last year, and the year before that was second for edge rushers
06:38in terms of pass rush grade.
06:39The Jets need somebody that is going to get to the quarterback and cause havoc.
06:43He's going to destroy offensive game plans.
06:47He's going to just, whatever the offense wants to do, he's going to throw a wrinkle in it
06:51to say the least.
06:53That's how you change the game.
06:54There's a reason that edge is a premium position in football along with offensive tackle and
07:00quarterback.
07:00They put edge there.
07:01Why?
07:01Because the guy's like this.
07:03And if the Jets want to make the smart move, you don't go with a project at edge like an
07:08Orville Reese.
07:09You go with David Bailey.
07:10And I hope, and I think when all is said and done, when they do their research, I think
07:15he's the pick at two.
07:16With that pick, you just made Darren Mugi the most hated person at one Jets drive.
07:21Why is that?
07:22If I'm on that defense, and my name is Jermaine Johnson, I'm up for a big payday.
07:28Will McDonald still could be up for a big payday.
07:33Why are you drafting my replacement?
07:36Who do you think you, Shane Bowen?
07:38Former defensive coordinator for the Giants.
07:40You think you, Shane Bowen?
07:42You got Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeau.
07:44And then you're going to draft Abdul Carter with that third overall pick for you the second.
07:50You see how that worked out last year with the Giants.
07:53So you tell me what you know that's different than what Shane Bowen knew and how this is
07:59going to work out with those three.
08:01With no Dexter Lawrence-esque like body in the middle because you traded Quentin Williams
08:07away.
08:08How does this work out?
08:08All right, I'll say, I'll have two angles here.
08:12Angle one, I think they can all coexist.
08:15Remember, the Jets are going to start playing a lot more 3-4.
08:18Jermaine Johnson's got to end up being a 5-tech.
08:21He's not going to play that outside linebacker edge role.
08:24Put him at 5-tech.
08:25He doesn't have the bend and doesn't get outside the tackle clean enough that I like him on the
08:30outside.
08:31You have Bailey on one side as the OLB edge.
08:34You have Will McDonald on the other side.
08:36Jermaine Johnson's playing your 5-tech if that's where he's suitable.
08:40You know, that's where it makes sense.
08:42Potentially.
08:43So that's number one.
08:44I would say they can coexist.
08:46And I also think they could coexist with flexibility if they want to get into a little 4-3 package.
08:50I was saying it to Ryan earlier.
08:53The Jets need to treat Jermaine Johnson like your boys, the Giants, treated Justin Tuck.
08:57I think we have to stop thinking of Jermaine as an edge and start thinking of him more as a
09:02bigger body D-end
09:04and maybe play some 3-tech on pass rushing downs.
09:06I think that's something they should entertain a little bit.
09:09Hear me out there.
09:10I'm telling you, there's something there with him.
09:12He's not the bend guy off the edge like we thought.
09:14He's got to bulk up a little bit and start playing a little bit with the big guards and boys
09:18inside.
09:20The other avenue I'm going to take is I think one of them could be on the way out.
09:24But Will McDonald's, they've got to figure out if they're going to give him a 5th-year option.
09:28And with Jermaine Johnson, he is on his 5th year.
09:30He's going to need a new deal.
09:32I think they're going to ship one.
09:33There was rumors they were looking at moving Jermaine this past before the deadline.
09:37So one of them might be out of here, man.
09:39So you just bailed on Jermaine Johnson for bail-e because you've checked out on this dude
09:47because he's coming back from that Achilles injury.
09:50And we always give players, especially someone who's got a bend, break, and burst,
09:55we always kind of give them that grace period of, all right, first year back, let's see what you get
10:00back to.
10:01He had a couple games where he kind of looked like the Jermaine Johnson of the past,
10:07but now you want to bump him in.
10:09Now what if you're Aaron Glenn?
10:12You've been forced to call the plays on the defensive side of the ball.
10:17So what's that conversation going to be like to him when you're telling him,
10:21hey, I'm bumping you to the inside now because we just drafted that rookie to take your spot?
10:27You know what, Brandon?
10:28You know it better than anyone how tough of a business and league the NFL is, right?
10:34And I think they're going to have to sit Jermaine down and say, listen, man,
10:38and the Achilles isn't his only injury.
10:40He's had injuries before that too.
10:42So injuries are a concern, one.
10:45Two, he only had three sacks last year, and it's not good enough.
10:51I can't remember the last time I can recall Jermaine Johnson just beating a tackle cleanly
10:59and getting to the quarterback.
11:00The only play I could think of that was super impressive was when he chased down Josh Allen,
11:05I believe was a big fourth down a few years ago now.
11:08But I just can't wrap my head around him as just an edge rusher anymore.
11:17I can be swayed differently.
11:19I mean, if he comes out this year and he shows that his injuries aren't killing him necessarily
11:25and affecting his burst, but I'm not seeing it, Brandon.
11:28I'm just not.
11:29And we need guys that can get to the quarterback.
11:32Listen, turnovers and interceptions, everyone thinks that's a linebacker, D-back stat.
11:37Yeah.
11:38That's also a defensive lineman stat.
11:40Come on, man.
11:40Absolutely.
11:42You get a little hit on that ball.
11:44That ball flutters up.
11:45You get a pick.
11:46Defensive linemen equate to a lot of turnovers.
11:49We had four turnovers the whole season, man.
11:51Zero interceptions.
11:53Those edge guys got to be better, and I think David Bailey will make them better.
11:56Yeah, it's all about wrecking the decision maker.
11:58Before I move on, I just want to say, like, you're so right.
12:00Won 2007 rookie year with the Giants.
12:03I got a Super Bowl ring because of a pass rush.
12:06There you go.
12:07You had Imani Toomer.
12:08You had weapons on the offensive side.
12:10Future Hall of Famer, Eli Manning.
12:12But the defensive line were the ones who were cutting checks that year.
12:16Those were the guys.
12:17The OCs, the Justin Tucks, Michael Strahan, Fred Robbins, like all those dudes.
12:22So I'm with you.
12:24I'm a wrecked decision maker type guy.
12:27You can never have enough pass rushers.
12:30And then from the receiver standpoint, you cook somebody at the line, right?
12:36Running.
12:37You look up.
12:38Ball's not coming.
12:39You're like, what just happened?
12:41Heat quarterbacks on his butt.
12:43That pass rush got there.
12:44Nothing more frustrating to an offense to where you can't run,
12:48especially if it's like a play where you know you put it in that week.
12:52You installed it.
12:53This is going to be a chunk play.
12:54We're going to max protect this or we'll keep it in seven.
12:57We're going to block this thing up.
12:59B. London, Garrett Wilson, whomever, get down the field.
13:03Mason Taylor, get down the field.
13:05You stick them.
13:06You get there.
13:06You look back.
13:07Ah, that is absolutely demoralizing.
13:09It's demoralizing.
13:10Because now it's like, where's that chunk play going to come from?
13:13And so I'm with you on that one.
13:16All right.
13:16So David Bailey, welcome to Florham Park.
13:20Put on his little hat.
13:21You know, what size is he?
13:22He's probably like, what, size 8 fitted cap?
13:24You got one of them big, thick necks.
13:26What do they got, 7 and 7, 8?
13:27Yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:28There we go.
13:28Big, thick neck.
13:31All right.
13:32We're going to move on because the Cardinals are on the clock.
13:35I told you guys we're not going to spend that much time when it comes to other teams.
13:38But with the number three pick of the 2026 New York Post mock draft 1.0,
13:45the Cardinals take tackle Francis Moigua out of Miami, the U.
13:53The U, baby.
13:54All right.
13:54Cardinals get themselves a tackle because their quarterback may be coming to the Jets,
13:58but we don't even need to talk about that.
14:00You guys might get Kyler Murray.
14:01So I don't know.
14:03Let's move on to the fourth pick.
14:05Both of our boys, Robert Salah and Brian Dable about to do some country line dancing
14:12down to Nashville, Tennessee.
14:13They'll be working at those bars pretty soon.
14:16I don't know, man.
14:18You take the best of Dable, the best of Salah.
14:21I think that's going to be a nice little one-two punch right here.
14:24That's a pretty good ball head collection right there, man.
14:28So you've got even numbers.
14:30Who do you have the Titans taking?
14:31So I have the Titans taking the player that a lot of Jet fans assume that we're taking
14:37or this player has mocked the Jets in a bunch of boards.
14:41That's Arvo Reese.
14:42Arvo Reese, we do a lot of content on him here at the New York Post Sports.
14:48He is a heat-seeking missile.
14:51You get that kid a free lane to anybody.
14:54He's taking that, and he's going to make something out of it.
14:58He's violent.
14:59And you're not breaking that tackle, that's for sure.
15:02I think he fits what Robert Salah wants to do with defensive players also because if
15:08you look at what Salah did with guys like Quincy Williams, he wanted Will McDonald.
15:12Jamie and Sherwood.
15:13Yeah, so you kind of get a little bit of all that.
15:15So I can see him looking at Reese and saying, I can do a lot with this guy.
15:20He's extremely violent.
15:21He's extremely athletic.
15:23And I think when it's all said and done, I think if the Jets don't take him at two, I
15:28think he falls and the Titans will take him at four.
15:30And when we say violent people, we mean football violent.
15:33He's a nice kid.
15:34It opens up the doors, helps grandmas across the street.
15:38You know, we got to throw that out there for the Gen Zers that are watching right now.
15:42So that puts us at the fifth pick of the track, the New York football Giants, who, let me
15:52go.
15:52Let me get up to you.
15:53Let me get my suit ready for this pick, man.
15:55Yeah, this is the only pick.
15:56I announced picks.
15:57I know, right?
15:58You get two.
15:59I'm going to sit back.
16:00I announced picks.
16:00Remember, I announced the Cam Scatterboo pick and I announced Theo Johnson pick.
16:04Yep.
16:05So I'm good at this.
16:07I'm kind of, I'm not going to say two for two.
16:10I'm one and a half for two.
16:11I'm waiting for Theo to take that.
16:12I'm waiting for Theo to take that step.
16:14I'm waiting for Theo.
16:15But Cam looks like he's going to be that guy.
16:17All right.
16:18With the fifth overall pick of the 2026 New York Post, my draft 1.0, the New York football
16:28Giants, four-time world champs.
16:30I should have wore my ring for this one.
16:32Select wide receiver, Cardinal Tate out of Ohio State University.
16:39He's, to me, he's not the best overall receiver in this draft.
16:43He's the most league-ready and most polished wide receiver in this draft.
16:50And if you're going to take the top, you're going to take a receiver at top five, you got
16:55to go with the guy that you're not worrying about developing.
16:58You want your receivers coach to have the easiest job coaching this kid when he steps in to be
17:04one.
17:05He steps in from day one.
17:07You need to draft a guy at five that can step in and be the one or challenge to be
17:14the one.
17:15And this is a dude that's going to make Malik Nabors have to rush back from his ACL injury
17:22to get back on that football field because I feel as though when Cardinal Reese steps in day one from
17:29rookie camp, like all these Ohio State and Bama and LSU receivers do, they step in and they get active
17:39from day one.
17:41And sometimes USC.
17:42I'll throw USC receivers in here.
17:43Check this out because what do the Giants need?
17:46A consistent, deep threat.
17:50And at 6'3", 6'4", he is not a blazer, but the 50-50 ball, you might as well
17:56call it 95-50.
17:59This dude is coming down with it.
18:01Got some stats for you.
18:02Deep targets this year, 2025 or last season.
18:05Nine catches on 10 targets of 20 plus air yards.
18:09That resulted in 383 yards and five touchdowns.
18:13Jackson Dart was slinging that thing down the football field this year and it would be dropped,
18:22dropped again, and dropped again.
18:24As a wide receiver, do you know how frustrating it was to watch that?
18:29And especially with some of the receivers that are dropping the ball because I got a great repertoire,
18:33great chemistry with those guys.
18:35Absolutely love them.
18:36Root for those dudes.
18:37But you're sitting, I've also been in a receiver room with Plaxico Burris,
18:41and he is no mercy when it comes to a drop.
18:45If it touch your foot, it's a drop.
18:47If it hits your grandma, it's a drop.
18:49So that's my mindset.
18:51And there's too many plays that should have been completed down the football field that were dropped.
18:57Go back to Carnell Tate and how explosive he is.
19:0011 receptions of 30 plus yards over his career.
19:04Consensity always had, his yards per catch would always be over, what, 15, 16 plus.
19:10Finished his career at Ohio State.
19:12Buck 18 receptions for a little over 1,800 yards and 14 touchdowns.
19:18Anywhere else, those are pedestrian-like numbers.
19:22Very Brendan London-ish at UMass, by the way.
19:25But at Ohio State, that's going to get you money.
19:29Those plays are going to get you money.
19:31Let me ask you a question.
19:32Carnell Tate, welcome to New York.
19:33Yeah, let me ask a quick question.
19:36Do you think Carnell Tate is going to really open things up for Malik Nabors in that offense?
19:42And do you think it will open it up to a point that you rather invest in another wide receiver
19:47versus an offensive lineman or even someone in the secondary?
19:52Because people are saying Caleb Downs might make more sense there.
19:55People are saying now that Francis Malago is off the board, maybe Spencer Fano.
19:59Are the Giants really becoming a better football team, you think, if they take Carnell Tate
20:04or if they go with Fano or Caleb Downs there or another tackle, potentially?
20:10You have your bookend left tackle who got snubbed for the Pro Bowl, Andrew Thomas.
20:16One of the best in the games.
20:17Jermaine Illuminor was serviceable on that right tackle spot.
20:21He's somebody that you should just re-sign him just to have that continuity
20:25and then go draft when it comes to interior offensive linemen or free agency
20:30because there's some guys in the interior offensive line that John Harbaugh could target on the free agency.
20:35But we talk about this entire coaching search.
20:38What do they say?
20:39Who's going to be a guy that's going to develop Jackson Dart?
20:42Look who they brought in.
20:44Matt Nagy, former OC, former head coach.
20:46Greg Roman, former OC.
20:48Brian Callahan, former OC, former head coach.
20:51They've done everything from the coaching standpoint to help Jackson Dart
20:56and to get him to progress.
20:57Now you've got to match that same energy by providing him with weapons.
21:01Too many times we're yelling at Jackson Dart,
21:04bro, get down, bro, don't do this, bro, don't do that,
21:08because he felt as though he had to do it.
21:13Before this, before we started shooting,
21:16we were talking about why I'm a little hesitant on certain quarterbacks
21:19because Matt Leinert and Ken Dorsey, they absolutely scarred me.
21:24They were great in college because why?
21:27I'm throwing to Andre Johnson, Santana Moss, Dwayne Jarrett, Steve Smith, Kerry Colbert.
21:32I'm throwing to stars, to pro bowlers, to future Hall of Famers.
21:36So a three-yard catch can turn into a 70-yard touchdown
21:40because you had weapons around him.
21:43That is what the Giants need to do for Jackson Dart.
21:46Caleb Downs would be great.
21:47I think he'd come in and reset that defense.
21:50But right now, if Carnell Tate is that, I need a sure thing
21:54because I don't know what Malik Nabors is going to look like at day one.
21:58And without him, let's say he's not ready.
22:00Let's say four games it takes him to get back to being league.
22:05Where's your weapon?
22:06Who are you throwing it to?
22:08Got to come in day one ready.
22:10We don't know what they're going to do with Wondell Robinson right now,
22:12but just think of this young receiver core of having Malik at the Z,
22:17Wondell in the slot coming off his career year, and then you've got an X.
22:22Yeah, you're in trouble.
22:23And Carnell Tate.
22:24Yeah, it's not easy to ask.
22:25You're in trouble, trouble, trouble.
22:30You're right.
22:30You're right.
22:31I love the pick, man.
22:32Yeah.
22:32I love the pick.
22:33No, I hear you.
22:33I hear you.
22:34I do.
22:34I think out of all the receivers in this draft, if there was a receiver that was a sure thing
22:39player that could play the Z or the Y,
22:43I think you're talking about Carnell Tate.
22:45I do like Jordan Tyson.
22:46Yeah, yeah.
22:47Gets hurt a lot.
22:48But he's missed 48% of his game.
22:51That's crazy.
22:51And there's rumors about whether or not he even wants his medicals checked out.
22:54So you can't really roll the dice at five with a guy that has those concerns.
22:58He's going to hide his medical history like I hide my dating history when I go on first dates.
23:06There you are.
23:07I don't need to hide them, bro.
23:08I stopped going on them, dude.
23:09There you go.
23:10Dude, I'm going to stop going.
23:11All right.
23:12Let's keep this thing rolling because they're already looking at me.
23:15All right.
23:15This is going to get canceled.
23:16All right.
23:18I thought this was a draft show.
23:20All right.
23:20So pick six.
23:21Yep.
23:22The Cleveland Browns trying to reset things up a little bit.
23:25Got the two young guys back there trying to figure out what the hell's going on.
23:30One of my favorite tackles in this draft.
23:32They say he's a tight end in a tackle body.
23:36But he's a tight end, but he's got strength like a tackle, though, so don't get it twisted there.
23:41Spencer Fano, tackle out of Utah.
23:43I have the Browns taking him at sick.
23:461.0.
23:46I'm going with Fano there.
23:47All right.
23:48Fano got a block for Shador Sanders.
23:51At number seven, the Commanders.
23:52We got the Commanders taking Reuben Bain, edge rusher from the U.
23:57Number eight, listen, New Orleans Saints, they got themselves, they think, a quarterback.
24:01They got themselves a head coach that likes to, you know, run a fast-paced offense.
24:07They play indoors in the dome.
24:09I think they still do.
24:10They want that thing moving.
24:12What receiver is going to keep things moving better than Makai Lemon?
24:17He's elusive.
24:18He's very elusive.
24:19I like watching his tape.
24:20I think, again, he's a guy that can step in day one.
24:23He's absolutely a dog.
24:24Ninth pick, the Chiefs select Jeremiah Love, who's sitting in this seat right here, running back out of Notre Dame.
24:33Because they're not going to be able to pay Pacheco.
24:36They're not going to be able to pay.
24:37You know, you get drafted to the Chiefs to play for the Chiefs until your contract's up, and then you
24:43got to go.
24:43A lot of things people don't know about Jeremiah Love, he can catch.
24:47He is a weapon out of the backfield.
24:49So, this pick absolutely makes sense.
24:52A 10, listen, the best player in this draft on a lot of people's boards, and people consider this guy
24:59an in-the-box safety.
25:00That's not true.
25:01They just had him playing in the box.
25:02This guy can play deep, too.
25:04This guy can play at all three levels of the game.
25:07I think you could put this guy at edge, and he'd freaking get you, you know, 10 sacks a season
25:10if you wanted to.
25:11That's Caleb down.
25:12So, the Bengals, this guy's going to come in there, and like you just discussed at five, maybe the Giants
25:17are looking at him.
25:18The Bengals at 10 would be more than happy.
25:20So, Caleb downs 10 in our mock.
25:22If he fell in their lap at 10, I mean, Jamar Chase, all those guys would be excited to have
25:28a first-year pro bowler, all pro on their defense.
25:32The kid, watch the kid's tape.
25:34Like, that's all we got to say.
25:35Watch the kid's tape.
25:36Number 11, we got a guy that I wanted the Giants to, I'm hoping the Giants could get.
25:43LSU cornerback, Mansoor Delane.
25:46Hands-on, physical, kid can run, play man-to-man.
25:51I mean, DBU, it's DBU.
25:52It's LSU.
25:54It's a for-sure thing.
25:56All right, so at 12, I got the Dallas Cowboys.
25:58Who?
25:59Them Cowboys?
26:00How about them Cowboys?
26:01How about them?
26:04Ohio State just has guys going left and right in this draft.
26:07So, we got another Ohio State player there.
26:09They need someone to reset that defense a little bit.
26:12There's nobody better in this draft, I think, to hold it down in the middle of your defense than Sonny
26:17Stiles.
26:17This kid's just super athletic.
26:19He actually is another player.
26:20I always use his Bruce Feldman's freak list.
26:23So, Sonny Stiles, I think, makes total sense for the Cowboys there at 12.
26:27Ohio State's first round is just the ultimate recruiting tool.
26:31Oh, yeah.
26:31Like, you come here, you're going first round.
26:34It's been like that for a few years, too.
26:35At pick 13, we got the Rams taking Jermod McCoy, corner out of Tennessee.
26:43They needed it.
26:44Remember all that hype with defensive coordinator Chris Shula?
26:47Yes.
26:47He could get the Giants job.
26:49Everybody.
26:50But then when we turned on the TV and we started looking at the Rams' defense, they looked like Swiss
26:54cheese.
26:55And it's because the secondary was breaking down game after game, play after play.
27:00You need complementary football on the defense.
27:04Next year, Shula gets a head job because the Rams' defense would be a lot better with Jermod McCoy.
27:09All right.
27:10So, moving on to 14.
27:12Listen, if this guy gets to 14, this team is extremely lucky.
27:16And I feel like this team gets a little lucky with picks sometimes.
27:18Or maybe other teams just aren't as good at drafting as they are.
27:22Baltimore Ravens selecting my favorite offensive player weapon in this draft.
27:27Player?
27:28My favorite weapon.
27:29My second favorite player.
27:31And I'm going to get to who my favorite player is when the time comes.
27:35It's coming pretty soon.
27:36Jordan Tyson, man.
27:38Arizona State, we touched on him a little bit earlier.
27:41Listen, Jordan Tyson is if you put, you combine Keenan Allen and Garrett Wilson together.
27:47And you sprinkle the little bit, you salt bae a little bit of Jamar Chase.
27:54Just a little touch of Jamar Chase.
27:55Oh, because he gets jacked.
27:55Okay.
27:56Just a little bit.
27:56Okay.
27:57Not too much.
27:59You're going to get Jordan Tyson.
28:00I'm a big Jordan Tyson fan.
28:02Without a doubt.
28:02He can stay healthy now.
28:04That's the what if.
28:05And that's what I was going to say.
28:06I love the recipe.
28:09But I go to your restaurant and I'm looking at the menu.
28:12And it's not on the menu because he ain't available.
28:16It ain't available.
28:17And it's taking you a long time to get seated.
28:18I just took the LIR all the way to Long Island to your restaurant.
28:23That's kind of how it is.
28:23For this steak and the steak ain't even on the menu, I got to wait.
28:27I got to wait until next week or maybe the week after for this to be back on the menu.
28:32Look, love the restaurant.
28:33Love the food there.
28:35Drinks at a good price too.
28:36There we go.
28:37But I came here for the steak and you ain't got the steak today.
28:40When can I get the steak?
28:41And that's what I think of when I think of this kid.
28:43I'm getting hungry.
28:44The best ability?
28:45Is availability.
28:46I mean, that's always it.
28:48So let's move on to 15 because I like this one.
28:52The Buccaneers are selecting Edge from Auburn.
28:57Keldrick Falk.
28:58So great.
28:59Get your Edge rusher because the defense is what set them back last year.
29:02All right, everybody.
29:03Oh, you're back on the clock.
29:04There we go.
29:04I'm back on the clock.
29:05There we go.
29:06Oh, boy.
29:07Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
29:08All right.
29:09This is the pick.
29:10If the Jets make this pick, I'm going to try to do a backflip.
29:13I will.
29:14If we're just trying to make this pick, you will see me try.
29:16I can't bend, but I will try.
29:17You heard it here first.
29:18We're clipping that.
29:19If the Jets get this guy at 16, who I think is – I'm going to go this far.
29:24I think he's the best player at his position in this draft, out of all the players.
29:29He's the best at his position in this draft.
29:32All right.
29:32I'm going to say his name too.
29:33You can't say that at the –
29:34Oliva.
29:37Vaga.
29:38Oliva Vega.
29:39Oliva Vega.
29:41Oana.
29:42Vega Oana.
29:43I'm telling you right now.
29:46Actually, it's Vega Oane.
29:47Sorry.
29:48I'm getting it wrong.
29:49Vega Oane.
29:51Vega Oana is going to change the scope of any offensive line that he goes to.
29:58Let me tell you why.
29:59This kid's a left guard.
30:01If this kid was a tackle, which people project him to be, this kid would be a top five pick.
30:07This kid is going to go to a team, and he's going to be a tree, a tree for that
30:16team at left guard.
30:17You ain't going to get through them.
30:18Never.
30:19And good luck getting around them because that tree's about 10 feet wide.
30:24That's a cooler.
30:25Yeah.
30:26That's a cooler.
30:26Yeah.
30:26This guy, I want the Jets to think differently about how they're drafting, and this is why I would get
30:32excited about him.
30:33You have two bookend tackles, right?
30:36You have Olu Fashionu, and then you've got Armand Membu, who are looking really good.
30:43Why not?
30:44And I think about this, Brandon, when I'm thinking about the draft.
30:47Why not make your strength even stronger?
30:52Why not make a potential strength something that differentiates you on Sunday versus the other team?
30:59Because the Jets don't have a unit where you go in and you're like, yeah, the line's good, but it's
31:05because of the tackles.
31:06The guards and centers can be a little iffy.
31:08They got John Simpson.
31:09We can get through that guy.
31:10We can send blitzes in a gap there.
31:12Him and Myers or Tipman, they're not going to handle it.
31:16They're in and out mentally.
31:17Sometimes they get a little wonky.
31:19Hands, they get penalties.
31:20Yeah.
31:21You put this guy, Vago Oane.
31:25Yeah.
31:26Bro, you're setting yourself up to have a unit with a line that'll transcend the way that the Jets want
31:33to run their offense.
31:35He can move in space.
31:36He's a big boy.
31:37He is like Panay Sewell, but a left guard version of Panay Sewell.
31:42And I just think you've got to get somebody.
31:44He's the best guy at his position.
31:46Some of his stats, he gave up zero sacks, zero hits, and only four hurries and 613 snaps last year.
31:56This guy keeps quarterbacks clean.
31:58He is an anchor to any O-line.
32:01And I think sometimes we want tackles, but sometimes guards matter too.
32:06And Vega Ioane.
32:11Ioane, I can never say his name.
32:12You're going to work on that.
32:13That's the third first round pick in a row we've got to work on.
32:17I can't say his name.
32:18But we actually got a live look of Garrett Wilson when the Jets made that pick just now.
32:28And we'll go to that.
32:32That man is turning his TV off.
32:35We just drafted an offensive lineman for the third straight year in the first round.
32:41Where is my help?
32:42All these receivers on the board here, and we just went edge and interior offensive line.
32:51Who's going to take the safety off of me?
32:53How am I going to get open?
32:55Who's going to take this double team, this double coverage off of me?
32:58Not some dude.
32:59Not some dude with a long last name, bro.
33:01Let me ask you a question.
33:03Garrett Wilson is going to be just as pissed as he was when they faked a punt in London and
33:08then bled the clock.
33:10What did you say is the most demoralizing thing for a receiver?
33:13You played receiver.
33:14When you're going to run your route, you do that double move, that safety is in his tracks.
33:20You got it.
33:20You got him for 30, 40 yards.
33:22Got him.
33:22But that quarterback's on his behind.
33:24This guy's going to help you so that doesn't happen.
33:26What's the second most demoralizing thing as a receiver?
33:31You line up and look.
33:33Oh, there goes this corner of my face.
33:36I look up.
33:36Oh, there goes the safety over the top because why?
33:40I got no disrespect.
33:42Josh Reynolds or any of those guys on the other side of the football field.
33:47That is also demoralizing.
33:49You know what?
33:49Listen, I'll say this.
33:50If you have Jordan Tyson there, Brandon, I'm probably going to take Tyson.
33:56Even with the injury history?
33:57Yeah, I would.
33:58I would probably take Tyson.
34:00If Makai Lemon's there, I might flirt with that.
34:02I would rather take Ioane over Lemon.
34:08That 5'11 thing kind of worries me a little bit, as you know.
34:11You got the white teeth.
34:13You get the hell out.
34:14I'm height shaming, dude.
34:15I'm a little height shamer, but I'm no one to talk, really.
34:20But, no, Brandon, I think Ioane is just somebody that when you look at him on film, dude,
34:27everything he does is at a premium level, and he's a big boy.
34:30And I think he just changes the scope of what you can do on offense.
34:33And then after that, Garrett Wilson will make a promise to him.
34:37We're not taking any offensive line in the first round.
34:40We got three first rounders next year.
34:41We're not taking any.
34:43Well, I mean, if they franchise tag Breece Hall, that might put a smile on his face.
34:46Like, that's a guaranteed 1,300 yards rushing if he has that offensive line that you just kind of mentioned.
34:53So, all right, you know, you talked me off the ledge, but I got to text Garrett.
34:58I got to call Garrett.
34:59I got to get his name down right.
35:00Absolutely.
35:00He's going to be on your show.
35:01I cannot get that right.
35:03You know how me and Bart Scott, we host the Giants and Jets draft party at MetLife.
35:08You should have told him I'm trying to say Mimbao and Fashionu for the first time.
35:13I've heard this guy's name pronounced a million different.
35:15I think I finally got it.
35:16Bart's going to be like, man, three years in a row, three years in a row.
35:21All right, we're going to run through these kind of last picks for the first round.
35:25That's going to wrap up.
35:26That's it.
35:27That first round of our first, our very first mock draft 1.0 for the New York Post.
35:35Frankie V, Brandon London here.
35:37We're going to be doing this thing every single Thursday leading up to the NFL draft.
35:42Frankie, finish us off here, man.
35:43Listen, I'll say this.
35:46Both New York teams have been in the dumps for the last 10 years.
35:50It's been a sad state of affairs for both teams.
35:53But I think things are going to change.
35:55You look at the Giants already.
35:57When you even brought up the pick with Carnell Tate and you just said John Harbaugh, I'm like, whoa.
36:02I'm like, just having that.
36:03It's like, all right.
36:04It doesn't even matter who they draft.
36:06Like, right?
36:08Yeah, that's different.
36:09Sitting there looking like this.
36:10Sounding like Joe Biden, you know?
36:14But and then, you know, with the Jets, we have the capital.
36:19We have 216.33.
36:21So that's a high pick, obviously.
36:23That can be considered a first runner.
36:24So I think things are going to start changing sooner rather than later.
36:28So have a little faith, everybody.
36:30We on the way up.
36:31Thank you guys for watching us.
36:33We will see you guys next week for the New York Post Mock Draft 2.0.
36:38We will see you next week for the New York Post Mock Draft 2.0.
