00:00all right going into week 14 the Giants have the number one pick in the draft but according to
00:10ESPN they're projected to end up picking fifth overall that means they're gonna win some games
00:15coming up Super Bowl champ David Tyree is back on with Tyree's takes on what the remaining four
00:21games mean for the season and unfortunately we have to look ahead a little to the NFL draft
00:26DT what's going on my man fresh off this bye week we hear bye week rested up motion is still healing
00:33but we rested up all right so let's look into these next four games ESPN's power index ranks
00:40the Giants at number 20 which means that they're a lot better than what their record indicates right
00:46now but as what Bill Parcell said you are what your record says you are four games left obviously
00:53this is an evaluation period so what position group or players do you have your eyes on most
00:59heading into free agency in the offseason that you need to evaluate yeah there's there's positions I'm
01:07going to be looking at is the secondary all over again I think when you're looking at your free
01:13agency acquisition as well as Deontay Banks there's tremendous room for upgrade wide receiver is
01:18obviously a primary position we get exposed um with the challenge of Malik neighbors I feel like
01:23you're you're moving in an upward trajectory at the start of the season and uh we we end up in the
01:28bottom of the basement so wide receiver DB and I think you know I think when you're looking at this
01:33this mixture of um of of D line if I'm going to put in a third one I'm kind of torn between either
01:40the linebackers or offensive line um I think our D line is is relatively stable but you know I think
01:46we've obviously lagged tremendously in what we would like to be on offensive line standpoint so
01:50third position offensive line I got to go with the linebackers and interior offensive line for that
01:57reason because you got back-to-back years where the Giants have been towards the bottom of the NFL
02:02and stopping the run I know if we could talk we could talk about you know defensive line and and having
02:07somebody next to Dexter Lawrence but Bobby O'Carake is making a lot of money he's making a lot of money to
02:13come in and shore up that linebacker position Michael McFadden was actually I thought that that
02:18this is a kid that was trending in the right direction when he's on the field and he's healthy
02:24the boy can ball but what do we say the best ability is availability and then uh Darius Musau
02:31he just hasn't made enough splash plays uh in his time as a starter or rotation guy for for you to feel
02:38like okay this linebacking core or this linebacking position you don't need to have a question mark on
02:45going into the offseason and then interior offensive line as well you got Andrew Thomas on the left side
02:51you got Jermaine Illuminor who I know he's going into free agency because my man's tweeting about
02:57the past the rushes he's giving up sacks he's giving up he's put his stats out there to let everybody
03:04know hey I'm a it's like a it's like a pretty it's like a pretty woman on IG like she's letting
03:09everybody know she's about to be single pretty soon and hey here's what I bring to the table
03:14so if you're going to have to go in and get someone I think you go you should look at that interior
03:19offensive line position because you don't know what you're going to have at running back next year
03:24and if you need to protect Jackson Dart it all starts you know up front in the middle would you
03:30rethink that now would you replace linebackers or interior offensive linemen with one of the
03:36secondary or wide receiver spots I'm actually a thousand percent with you on the interior O-line
03:41you know the the what even when you look at the free agent acquisitions of Runyon
03:47did it did it make the impact that we would have liked to have seen Schmidt did it make the impact
03:53that we would have liked to have seen and is Schmidt still a developing player perhaps but we talk
03:58about a window of opportunity and what was sold as opposed to the resume yeah there's room for it
04:04for for competition and that's what they need to do um but still if if I'm looking at a power position
04:11what is needed they need a real number two right they they they need it's kind of like we got Imani
04:17Toomer and Imani Toomer is at this this this guy's been our number one but we're going to go add
04:23Plaxico Burrs. Imani Toomer is still one of the most powerful productive wide receivers of the
04:27national national football league but we're going to bring a punch we're going to bring a legit
04:31um uh a legit opposite that's what Malik neighbors needs is that legit compliment Wondell Robinson salute
04:38to him um if the Giants are able to find a way to package it it looks like he's going to be in tow to
04:43make a lot of money but he is a slot gadget guy these guys need somebody that can stand and at the
04:49number two position opposite Malik neighbors and separate and apart from his production perhaps give
04:55you 900 to 1200 yards can they find a guy that can be that guy the wide receiver and I actually
05:00believe that is they need to square this away and stop negotiating we haven't seen it since
05:05Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz I like it because and if you mention Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz
05:10they had a three as well and Mario Manningham if you mention Imani Toomer and Plaxico Burris
05:15they had a three and Steve Smith the second when he came in rookie year remember he was out for all
05:21those games with the broken collarbone the boy came in there and the routes were routing so
05:26the boy was special the boy good that boy good and there's a lot of wide receivers out there in
05:32this draft that are going to be game ready like a like a Steve Smith so and that's why that next
05:39four games play into this because they're holding that number one spot but when you look at the next
05:46four games it's against a lot weaker competition you got the commanders at home the Vikings at home
05:53you go out to Vegas to play the Raiders and then you got the Cowboys coming back at home let's do a
06:00little prediction I'm gonna name the team you say win loss and give us your why as well commanders
06:07I think this is a win um you know you're looking at the health of Jaden Daniels
06:12um just went that went back down with the elbow injury against the Vikings um trending down I think
06:19confidence is low and again the Giants have enough defense to be able to slow down the commander's
06:24offense and middle middle of the tier same similar offense but I think the Giants have enough with
06:29Kayvon Thibodeau also get bringing himself back in the mix off of injury to add enough punch to knock
06:34out the commander my only thing that worries me okay it's Marcus Mariota that's coming up to be a QB1
06:41if Jaden Daniels doesn't play but then you see that drive where Malik Willis came in the game after
06:46they knocked Jordan Love out for a little bit and Malik Willis came in and marched down the field and
06:51was able to score a touchdown that's the only thing I'm worried about but it should be a win
06:56at home against the commanders then you wait then you get another week you got the Vikings coming into
07:02town Brian Flores led defense JJ McCarthy and then they ran the score up on uh I forget who it was
07:08somebody tear it was on the commanders last week when loss and or and why this is my loss just on
07:19the strength of the Brian Flores defense um I do I believe the Giants could win yes I I I think
07:25there's something solid about this this Vikings defense separate and apart now you know they got
07:33some magic out of JJ McCarthy and I don't I'm not necessarily stung by this but I think this is just
07:38one of the this is going to be the letdown this is going to be the letdown game um for the New York
07:42Giants you know as I looked at the last four opponents I think they actually could squeeze two
07:47and this is one win that I'm this is one win that I'm I'm I'm projecting and honestly I have a
07:52historical blueprint of the Giants always losing to the Vikings down to Eli Manning mishaps it's like
07:58what what is it with with the Vikings that caused us to play some of our worst football and so uh maybe
08:04maybe I'm maybe I'm a little stung well from past experience as well you know and that's you're not
08:10wrong for that not only you know reliving some of those past experiences but this year's Giants team
08:15hasn't been able to win two in a row at all so you know that's another thing that could play into there
08:20then you go out to Vegas we don't even know if it's on a Saturday or a Sunday yet but it's after
08:25Christmas you play Geno Smith it's if he's still the quarterback at that time and the Raiders and
08:32Pete Carroll has fired everybody DT this should be a win on the road give it to me this should be a win
08:40on the road I'm pushing my roulette chips in and just saying yo bro this is a stability win this is a
08:48this is you know and the reality is we're talking about two two two empires if you want to call it
08:53but this is the one where we strike back and just say hey there's a semblance when you look at what
08:59Mike Kafka has done out the gate there has been command there has been intent there has been sharp
09:05decision making this when it comes to Pete this has been a slow crumbling process and he's and it's
09:11almost like hey man I'm just I'm pulling a rug from up under a failing a failing first season so you
09:17know what what is the reasons we actually just have better players bottom line we have better
09:23players than than the than the than the Las Vegas Raiders and the Giants are going to go out there
09:27and and steal a win as uh and I just think from a morale perspective there's more of our Giants that
09:34actually believe in the Mike Kafka right now than they actually than than the Raiders believing in
09:38Pete Carroll all right now next is the one that scares me last game of the season first game of the
09:44new year Cowboys are going to be coming into town with their fan base they're going to need that win
09:50George Pickens and and CeeDee Lamb should be off a protocol by then and healthy Dak Prescott is
09:57playing at an MVP caliber level win loss and why this this is a loss um you know and I think
10:08the the Cowboys are playing for something that's that's just the reality they have the ability to put
10:15pieces together based on Dak Prescott alone I have been a slow emerging respecter of Dak Prescott I've
10:24been one of these slow I'm like he's good no reality is he's pretty great and he's close to this
10:31MVP caliber type of quarterback that and obviously the glaring um playoff
10:38lack is really the only thing that diminishes the legacy of Dak Prescott is just too much to overcome
10:45too much talent to overcome and the pieces that they have added on defense and light of some of
10:51the subpar start are starting to shine bright some of these additions free agent the trade um positions
10:57to shore up those defensive line is starting to shine bright for the Cowboys we'll see what happens
11:01on the interim but I do believe it's a loss I need that to be a win because I'm not trying to have
11:07Cowboys fans come in and try and take over the stadium at the very last the very last game of
11:14the season plus their fan base is hella annoying every time I'm walking through the corridors they
11:19look at me and be like oh look it's Dak shouldn't you be playing I'm like not all light-skinned brothers
11:25with a beard look like that Prescott that's you know like we need to chill out on that but yeah I mean
11:30that's going to be a tough game and the Cowboys going to be playing for something I mean that that that's
11:35going to be a game where the Giants going to have to pull out all stops to win that game
11:38yeah I've always said the Cowboys fans are like you know like we got sad to say New York City you're
11:45going to see a lot of rats in the subway throughout the city that's Cowboys fans they they they here for
11:50you everywhere you go they just hear they're still alive they're still talking about Tom Landry
11:54and they're still talking about the three-peat in the 90s and um they just as intense and just as
12:00annoying not looking forward to it we should have more hope in the big blue all right DT Sally we
12:06got to look ahead to the NFL draft a little bit our NFL reporter for the New York Post Ryan Dunleavy
12:11uh has a has an article out on the post right now it says ESPN says that the Giants have a 10% chance
12:20to stay with the number one pick that's fourth highest odds and a 54.4% chance to have a top
12:27five pick so right now they've got that first pick of the draft if that remains for the season
12:33what do you do with it or who would you grab man top five pick if I could be honest with you
12:41I'm looking at the past for Joe Shane if he's still in this position to make these decisions here
12:46we're assuming I'm still trading now um he trades down in 2022 he gets Wondell Robinson Dane Belton
12:54and Micah McFadden we talked a little bit about Micah McFadden but you're talking about I think
12:59Dane Belton might have 84 84 85 tackles this year um not the not I'm not saying this guy's an elite
13:06player but really great value from the trade down I'm a bigger fan and I think the Giants needs are
13:11greater in relation to continuously build this roster out with some depth the quality is there
13:16the depth has been lacking for years so the moment that we get draft capital that we begin to trade
13:22up and what do our trade-ups look like in the past Deontay Banks and Jalen Hyland hey man I'm just
13:29going with recent call it recent syndrome give me capital give me quality that's what I'm looking
13:35for for the Giants moving forward in this draft yeah if I got that number one pick and if you've
13:39identified as Jackson Dart as the guy going forward you don't need a quarterback so you mentioned
13:47needing a corner another defensive tackle interior lineman I feel like they need a tight end here's a
13:53couple names that I've kind of looked around on ESPN and other early draft boards and and found that
14:00okay these could be some serviceable guys if the Giants trade back in that number one from that number
14:06one pick and they're able to get two in the uh the first round there's a corner out of LSU
14:11Mansoor Delane six foot 190 transfer from Virginia Tech he's all over the field and you know just like
14:18at wide receiver them LSU boys come in as DBU they come in on the defensive side of the ball ready to
14:24play especially when they go first round Stingley all those guys there's a deep tackle from Clemson
14:29Peter Woods Clemson guy Dexter Lawrence Clemson guy 6'3 315 pounds all right like I'm I I'm John
14:41Mara reincarnated when he says I am tired of watching teams go up and down the field on this defense and
14:50they've been able to do that and back-to-back years you got to shore up that defensive line
14:54there's a tight end out of Oregon Kenyon Sadiq 6'3 245 and everybody's like why why don't you not go
15:02get a wide receiver uh like you know Cardo Tate or one of those guys you got Theo Johnson Theo Johnson
15:09still has to prove that he's a TE1 to me this Sadiq kid runs routes and I'm talking routes Theo
15:16Johnson can block so if if he has to be that TE2 that Daniel Bellinger role and you lose Dan
15:23belly and free agency now you've got a one-two punch at tight end Ohio State has a defensive tackle
15:30Caden McDonald 6'3 326 the boy is a dog I'm all about shoring up that defensive line and I think
15:38you know you can get a corner in the second round or free agency same thing with wide receiver but when
15:44it talks to that defensive line and maybe sprinkle in a a tight end there if you could get one of these
15:50two guys out of the draft I know it's early but I think they would be instant impact in terms of
15:56coming in stop be day one starters and make plays yeah I couldn't resist the opportunity to look at
16:03these wide receivers Carnell Tate Jordan Tyson Makai Lemon um those are those are you know you talk about
16:10three to five receivers typically on anyone's board I I need I need I need one and or a premier
16:17offensive line when I'm thinking about this draft this pushback give me some quality give me O-line
16:23give me wide receiver put the question put the bed to questions about and I know we've had you know
16:29we've had some some some Evan Neal who could have who could have predicted but they're they got to be
16:35able to knock this thing out the park um with this trade back and I and I'm calling a trade back
16:41I just really believe that we lack depth because this was a great roster at the start of the year
16:46injury Michael McFadden injury Malik neighbors and and next thing you know our whole season is shattered
16:52so um hopefully that's the move but there's certainly great prospects at the position Giants
16:57will be in a good position um with the top in my personal opinion top five picks
