00:00Well, this is a farce.
00:01I think we'll call it a cabin boat.
00:03Just stay on a lake for a little while,
00:05pull out your house, go to another lake.
00:07And we've never done anything like this.
00:09I think we may be in for a problem.
00:12Carpet glued.
00:13That may not be fun.
00:14A little moment of truth here on measurements.
00:17Dun-dun-dun.
00:18I hope these are right.
00:20See if this fits.
00:22This is back in 48 hours, and you guys are leaving me with nothing.
00:24You're giving me the stress.
00:25The big question is, how does she plane out through the water?
00:30Alright.
00:44Jaci Chase.
00:45Where are you?
00:46Out on the ice!
00:47What is he doing?
00:48What are we doing on the ice?
00:50Freezing our butts off?
00:51This is why I don't understand ice fishing.
00:54Today we are in Belgrade on Great Pond,
00:57going to meet our next homeowner.
00:59Good, you wore your hat.
01:02Well, probably the only fish we'll catch today.
01:05Chase gave it to me and said, wear it today.
01:07I didn't know why, but now I do.
01:09Our next campowner is actually ice fishing
01:11in that shack right over there.
01:14Well, this is a first.
01:15Yeah, so are.
01:16Camp owners very excited about this project.
01:18I'll let them tell you the details.
01:21This is a little sus.
01:22Is that a good thing?
01:23Is that short for suspect?
01:25I think so.
01:27Check out who is it.
01:28Who's there?
01:28Who does it smell like?
01:30Look at this thing.
01:32Dixie!
01:33Hey!
01:34Welcome to my cabin on the lake.
01:37Hi, Trigger buddy.
01:38What's happening?
01:39My name's Jared Jedi Baker,
01:41and I have been waiting years
01:42to become a homeowner on the main cabin masters.
01:45So what is it that you're looking for?
01:47Ice fishing shack?
01:49This one's pretty nice.
01:50This one does for now,
01:52but I like some summer activities.
01:53I'm looking for a cabin on the lake.
01:55Which one are we going to do?
01:56That one?
01:57Or that one?
01:58Or that one?
01:58I want a cabin on the water.
02:00Houseboat?
02:01Houseboat.
02:02When he said cabin on the water,
02:03I was looking around this beautiful lake.
02:05I mean, it makes sense,
02:06but he literally wanted a cabin on the water.
02:10I think we'll call it a cabin boat.
02:12So we're not fully as a house.
02:14You already got your cabin boy.
02:16Cabin boy, yeah.
02:16I don't have a piece of property on the lake anywhere.
02:19I'm always bouncing around,
02:20going to different lakes.
02:22Always on the go.
02:22Always on the go.
02:22I think a cabin on a pontoon boat.
02:25Go stay on a lake for a little while,
02:27pull out your house,
02:27go to another lake.
02:28Let's go look at it.
02:29Go look at your boat.
02:31That looks big, Jedi.
02:33I think it's huge.
02:35Those are big pontoons.
02:37Look at that.
02:38I found it in Vermont.
02:4025-footer.
02:41It's got the extra-large pontoons.
02:43It's 8'6 wide.
02:44An aluminum deck,
02:45so it's not rotted plywood.
02:47Yes.
02:47Which is great.
02:48Yep.
02:49What's your vision?
02:50It's going to be a place to entertain,
02:51but it's also going to be a place
02:52where people can get in and out of the elements.
02:55We're going to leave 4 or 5 feet of the front
02:57for hanging out,
02:59a little deck space.
02:59We'll close in probably 16 to 18 feet.
03:03It's going to have one bed.
03:04The plan is to have a good running toilet.
03:06We'll put a third pontoon.
03:08We're going to do an upper deck
03:09so we can hang out and catch some sunshine.
03:12You could park it out to our island
03:13and we could be neighbors.
03:14And you guys could use it
03:15on nights that I'm not there.
03:16So what's your biggest risk with this project?
03:19Sinking.
03:21Balancing the weight.
03:22Balancing it would be definitely possible.
03:23Balancing the weight.
03:24We don't want to back this into the water
03:25and have it just dip over.
03:27The deck's aluminum.
03:28The structure itself is going to be aluminum.
03:30All aluminum.
03:31All aluminum.
03:32Yeah.
03:32Try to cut the weight down as much as possible.
03:34Does height play into it as well?
03:37I want to build it
03:38so I can put it on any body of water in the state.
03:41So it's going to stay under, what, 13?
03:44Six.
03:44We're already four, almost,
03:47five feet up off the ground to begin with.
03:49We're going to work on it right here.
03:50What's the plan?
03:51I've talked about this with Tom.
03:55We've got a lot of metal fabrication
03:56that we've got to do for this project
03:58and he was willing to help out with it.
04:00Very awesome.
04:01I'm going to haul this over to Tom's shop.
04:03For demo, we're going to be able to do this inside.
04:05Lovely.
04:07Obviously, this isn't going to be ready
04:09for winter or anything like that.
04:11What's your time frame for completion?
04:14I'm thinking 17 weeks.
04:17Puts us into May.
04:18We want it to be warm so we can go out and use it.
04:20I've got about $50,000.
04:22I spent about $10,000 on the boat already,
04:25down to about $40,000 from here.
04:27Last question.
04:29What's her name going to be?
04:30I think we're going to need some inspiration for this.
04:32You're known for a good pontoon.
04:34Yeah.
04:35So here's the plan.
04:36We're going to strip down this pontoon boat,
04:38put a non-slip rubber coating on the deck
04:41and build a one-bed, one-bathroom cabin on top of it
04:44using aluminum framing.
04:46We'll give it windows, lights, and a vinyl wrap
04:48to make it look like an old main cabin.
04:50We'll build a deck up top for more hangout space
04:53with a killer sound system
04:55and add a third pontoon underneath for extra buoyancy.
04:58We'll also get a dock to work as a mooring station
05:01and add extra stability.
05:02There's only one thing left to do.
05:04I'll call you guys on Monday for demo.
05:06All right.
05:07Yeah.
05:08Bye.
05:08Sweet.
05:09Let's go check the traps.
05:22We got the boat dropped off on Friday.
05:24Awesome.
05:25At least they're going to be inside nice and warm.
05:27I know, yeah.
05:28You're spoiling us, Dad.
05:29It's a nice, easy warm day, stripping the boat.
05:31We're at Manly Handreels up here at Fairfield.
05:34Hey, good morning.
05:35Good morning, Tom.
05:37It's nice and warm in here today.
05:39Very warm.
05:40It's demo day for my little cabin boat.
05:42What's the goal today?
05:43Yeah, what do you want us to do?
05:44Ideally, if we can get this stripped clean,
05:46we'll get everything stacked up out of the way,
05:49get it down, get the carpet up.
05:50So get everything down to the deck.
05:52Yes.
05:53Sweet.
05:53Love it.
05:53Yeah.
05:54Okay.
05:54Let's start stripping.
05:59Let's get these tires off here.
06:03First step of the boat here, we want to get off everything that's not bolted down.
06:07We're going to get everything taken off, and we're going to just get ready to start unbolting
06:10things.
06:18Jared, grab that rail.
06:19Lights clip.
06:20You got it?
06:21Yeah.
06:21This will come right off.
06:22Sweet.
06:23Need me to go under and get the seats off?
06:25Yeah, I got...
06:27Yes, sir.
06:29So this is a little different than what our normal demo is.
06:33Our tools for the day, instead of saws-alls and skill saws and pry bars, our wrenches and
06:40screwdrivers.
06:41So it seems to be coming apart pretty easy.
06:49I've never disassembled a pontu boat, but it's all pretty simple.
06:53It's all just like an erector set.
06:54You just bolt it all together.
06:57This one's ready to come down.
07:09We've got our last set of rails coming off.
07:12Dixie's just making a few more last cuts, undoing a few bolts.
07:16Are we ready?
07:20She should come right up.
07:22She's free.
07:26Nice.
07:29Sweet.
07:32We are pulling the carpet.
07:33Yeah.
07:34Okay.
07:36I think we may be in for a problem.
07:40Because when I was trying to pull that centerpiece out, I think they might have glued.
07:44Carpet's glued.
07:45That may not be fun.
07:47That will not be fun.
07:56I mean, we know we've got to weld to the deck.
07:59There's no way we're leaving this carpet.
08:02Watch your fingers.
08:04Oh, here's one of them try bars.
08:08Oh, that will come out there.
08:09No problem.
08:11Oh, that's...
08:12Oh, come on.
08:18They did use a glue.
08:20They did use a glue.
08:21He was able to muscle it right up.
08:23Carpet will be gone in no time.
08:26I'm so glad that that carpet tore up easy.
08:29Come on, Triggs.
08:30It's a beautiful day.
08:32Well, let me say, better late than never.
08:34How late are we?
08:35We had a snowstorm.
08:36There's enough snow to have to plow and really be mad about it.
08:38Trigger, come on.
08:39Triggs, want to go to work?
08:40Hello.
08:41Go to work.
08:41Hello.
08:42Hello.
08:42How's it going?
08:43Howdy.
08:43My truck broke down, too.
08:45It was just one thing after another this morning.
08:47Whoa.
08:48Welcome to Boat Demo.
08:51Take your boat's all demo.
08:52It's a little shaky, but it's not going to go anywhere.
08:55We got to...
08:56I'll be a ballast down here.
08:57Get your sea legs on.
08:58You need sea legs.
08:59Give me the layout.
09:00This will be just kind of a little porch area.
09:03Yep.
09:03There'll be a ladder here.
09:05Either a ship's ladder straight up or one of those collapsible staircases.
09:09Yep.
09:09It'll go to your upper deck.
09:11There'll be a sliding glass door here where you come in.
09:14This will be our bathroom.
09:15And then we'll be walled off right here.
09:18This back area here will be one bigger bed.
09:22We'll have a big curtain right here.
09:23Right?
09:23Close it right off.
09:24I'll make some curtains for you.
09:26Curtains would be nice.
09:27I'll take that on as my project.
09:28It pretty much had stripped the whole pontoon boat.
09:30They just pretty much reinforced better late than never.
09:33Our timing was perfect.
09:36Quickest demo we've ever had.
09:37You got that going for your budget.
09:38That's the guy that came at the end of it.
09:40Now that we've gotten into this, our design really hasn't changed much at all.
09:44We had a good idea that it was a pretty well-made boat, knowing that it had the aluminum deck
09:48on it.
09:49That saved us a lot of trouble, a lot of time.
09:51I only learned that it's way better working inside during the winter than it is outside.
09:55You've got a good base to start with, that's for sure.
10:03We've got this third pontoon.
10:05It's going to be a big part of this boat, the buoyancy and the help it stabilize.
10:09Two, three hundred pounds here on this pontoon, but it's going to add about 2,000 pounds of buoyancy.
10:14So, well worth it right here.
10:16It's going to stabilize us for sure.
10:19Behind us here, we have finally got our materials.
10:21We've got all our two by three aluminum stock.
10:24Next step from here, we're going to start framing out the cabin.
10:43Trying to get our layout for what I'm calling the cage.
10:46We're going to build this aluminum cage.
10:48That's going to be the inside of our little cabin.
10:50It's eight foot inside to inside by 15 feet.
10:55It really limits our space as to what we're able to work with.
10:59This will be the pontoon boat, the little cabin.
11:02This is that cantilevered bed, almost like a pop-up camper.
11:07Have our big glass sliding windows here, here, and here.
11:13With our deck up on top, there's your motor obviously in the back.
11:17Our ladder up front going out to the motor.
11:23These are our headers.
11:25We're putting in headers just like we would with a regular cabin.
11:28We don't want that weight to be on the windows, crushing those windows, taking a chance of breaking the glass.
11:33We're going to get this all welded together, and then we'll be able to stand our framing.
11:38It's all right here.
11:40It's all in Tom's head.
11:41This is just the beginning.
11:57There we go.
12:00We're here at Tom's shop.
12:01What we've got going on right here is we're focusing on our roof system and our framing.
12:07Lay it down on the floor?
12:08Yep.
12:09And we'll kind of walk it right this way.
12:14I think you're good to leave that there, right?
12:17We'll tack our four corners on.
12:19Oh, I see what you're saying.
12:20Keep it up higher.
12:21Yep.
12:21Keep it above everything.
12:22That big square.
12:24Yeah.
12:25If you can hold it enough on one side so I can square it.
12:32Okay.
12:32So we've got a lot of things we've got to focus on while we're building this.
12:35One of the major factors is height.
12:37So when we're traveling with this, we are within the legal height limits from the ground to the top of
12:44this.
12:44I believe it's like 13.6 right there.
12:47Yeah, I got it.
12:52We wanted to give ourselves a little bit of extra space, not shrink this down too much.
12:57Okay.
12:58I'm right where I want to be.
13:01So all said and done, we're going to have an overall height on the trailer of 12 foot 6.
13:07That's going to give us at least a foot under all those low bridges, underpasses, stuff like that.
13:14Perfect.
13:16And we also still have plenty of head height in here.
13:30We are getting our framing all done and complete.
13:33Got our sills all cut out.
13:35Those of you who are unfamiliar with welding, there's a thing called welder's flash.
13:40And it's no joke.
13:41It hurts.
13:41It burns.
13:42You can't see for days.
13:44It's just like going to the beach and grabbing a couple handfuls of sand and just grinding it in your
13:50eyes.
13:51And then having that sand in your eyes for like two or three days.
13:54When they're welding, you don't want to be staring into that stick.
13:57Next, we're going to build out our bed frame.
14:19We've got everything underneath all taken care of.
14:21We're laying our roof deck boards right now.
14:23And we'll go through and we'll weld them all to the rafters.
14:34We're going to put this thing on the trailer.
14:35Okay, hold up, hold up, hold up.
14:40Yep, yep.
14:47And we're going to take it up the road and get our roof sealed and rubber coated.
14:52Nice and easy.
14:56Yeah.
14:56Good.
14:58We're going to put a rubber coating on this deck here and then on our roof deck on the cabin
15:02itself.
15:03It's going to be a non-slip light color so you're not burning your feet in the hot sun.
15:08It's just going to make the boat a lot safer and make it watertight.
15:11We needed that done on both the cabin and the boat before we could go forward with anything.
15:18Then we'll take it back to Tom's, get it sheathed and prepped for vinyl wrap.
15:33Great that too.
15:35Yeah, this looks good.
15:36It does.
15:37He's made a lot of progress.
15:39I know it's still in two pieces, but it seems like the base is in good shape.
15:43We've got more to see in here though.
15:44This is the fun part.
15:46Cool.
15:47Look at that.
15:47Wow, nice.
15:49Look at that.
15:50Welcome to the cabin fabrication shop.
15:53That is so cool.
15:54Never seen that type of vine.
15:56Been getting right after it.
15:57Had a pretty busy week.
15:58We really needed to get this cabin closed in, get ready for those windows.
16:02We couldn't be behind the eight ball.
16:04We had to get this skin sheathed, vinyl wrap, and ready for windows.
16:08You've got to wrap your truck to match it when you're hauling it down the road.
16:10Vinyl wrap is a great application for this.
16:13It cuts down on weight, gave a nice, flat, watertight barn board look.
16:19Inside the doors and windows, and here's Jacob.
16:21Morning.
16:21It's Jake.
16:22How are you guys?
16:22Hey, bud.
16:23What's happening?
16:23Good to see you.
16:24Yes, definitely.
16:25I'm glad we're doing this inside today.
16:27Yeah.
16:28So all we got to do is get this unloaded.
16:30All right.
16:31Get them open, see what we got.
16:32Yep.
16:34Those are pretty light.
16:38A little moment of truth here on measurements.
16:40Dun, dun, dun.
16:42Jacob gave me an eighth to a quarter inch play on my rough openings for these windows.
16:47That's not a lot of play.
16:49In the most windows we do in our cabins, we have a half inch to three quarters of an inch
16:54of play for these windows to set in, but these were pretty precise.
16:58Test number one.
16:59See if this fits.
17:00There is no cutting out studs.
17:02Everything is welded aluminum.
17:05I hope these are right.
17:17Oh, look at that.
17:19Oh, look at that.
17:20Perfect.
17:21Beautiful.
17:22Like a glove.
17:23That's gorgeous.
17:24That's going to look great.
17:25Breath of fresh here.
17:26Once that first window slid in, Chase kind of took some of the other windows and he walked
17:31around.
17:31They all slid in perfectly.
17:33I can sleep better.
17:35Just a matter of setting them in, screwing them into place, and putting the windows in
17:41and all the pieces back together.
17:46So we're going into aluminum framed window into an aluminum framing.
17:52So we use what's called a tech screw.
17:54It's a self-tapper.
17:55It has a little cutting bit on the end of it.
17:57And it's got a big three-eighths head that fits right into the channel here.
18:01And then after that, what do you have?
18:05A trim piece that snaps on, right?
18:06So after our mounting hardware is in place, what we have are our vertical receivers.
18:11These go in place to hold the window sashes, and they double as covering up all your hardware.
18:16Gotcha.
18:16So these are simply just going to snap in place, and then we're going to run a couple tappers to
18:24lock those in, and that's it.
18:26This window is fully installed.
18:29Just like that.
18:30Bam!
18:37I haven't been to the pontoon boat.
18:39Haven't checked it out in a while, so I wanted to just drive up and see what's going on.
18:44This place is amazing!
18:45Oh my...
18:47It's getting there.
18:48This is so fun.
18:50A few more final touches.
18:50I want to come up into your bedroom.
18:52Oh, boy.
18:53I think the pontoon looks amazing.
18:55So cool.
18:55Such a great concept.
18:57I really like the wrap that they put around it to give it that wooden look.
19:00Those windows are incredible.
19:02I like the bed.
19:03Can you be my ladder?
19:04I can.
19:09This is big.
19:10It's spacious up here.
19:11I'm going to have to buy some sheets and put them on his bed.
19:13What size is it?
19:14Let me grab a tape measure.
19:15So, Dixie, what size should I get here?
19:18If this is 80-something by 57, what should I get here?
19:22I get a double.
19:24They make doubles these days?
19:26Yeah.
19:27A double, a full?
19:28A double is a full.
19:29Or what's a queen?
19:30A queen is 60.
19:33A double or a full is 57 by 80.
19:38This is all part of that coffee table book I told you Maddie's going to write someday.
19:41He should.
19:42Something About Everything by Maddie Dix.
19:44Well, it is.
19:45Why is California the only place to get their own king mattress?
19:47Why can't Maine have a main king mattress?
19:54Jenna, wake up.
19:55Ashley!
19:57On top of the curtains, we've got to come up with a name for this.
20:00Okay.
20:00Back and forth.
20:01Ashley Ray?
20:02Ashley Ray.
20:03Ship of Fools.
20:04Charlie, the Gustopher Columbus.
20:07The War Frat.
20:08The War Frat.
20:09But I think better suiting, I think I want to name it after my mother.
20:13Oh, I love that.
20:15What was your mom's name again?
20:16Her name was Jean Madeline.
20:18Jean Madeline.
20:19But I think I might call it the Madeline Jean.
20:22Oh, I like that even better.
20:23The Madeline Jean.
20:24The Madeline Jean has a good ring to it, doesn't it?
20:26Yeah.
20:27Do you think maybe you could do some artwork and paint the Madeline Jean?
20:33The Madeline Jean?
20:39I think so.
20:40What I'm thinking is I could probably go to a local company and just get vinyl decal cutouts.
20:45That probably will last longer than paint.
20:48All right, well, I'll get working on this.
20:57So nice.
20:58Very nice.
20:59So nice.
21:01Jen, I think that's it.
21:03Yeah.
21:03The craftsman looks awesome.
21:04Everything's in.
21:05I got one more thing for you.
21:06I'm hoping you have a flagpole that you plan on putting on the boat.
21:11You want to make sure you have some branding on here.
21:14That's awesome.
21:15Yeah, we are definitely going to fly this.
21:18That's awesome.
21:20Hopefully it helps defend your boat.
21:22We will keep the pirates away.
21:23All right, take care.
21:25Thanks again.
21:25I'll see you guys soon.
21:26Bye, guys.
21:27They look awesome.
21:28Those look awesome.
21:29So what's left?
21:30Well, there's quite a few things left to do.
21:33Got to work out the thing with our toilet system.
21:35Yep.
21:35The sound system.
21:36Ashley, you've got some curtains and some lettering and some decorating of sorts.
21:40This is awesome.
21:41Great.
21:41It looks awesome.
21:42It really is.
21:43Can't wait to see it float.
21:44Me too.
21:46All right, let's go.
21:46Okay.
21:47Love it.
21:48Love it.
21:48See ya.
22:02Yep.
22:03Yep.
22:05Did we make it?
22:06Here we are up in Fairfield first thing in the morning.
22:09We've got a big list of things we've got to get done today.
22:15We've got to get our third pontoon up underneath there.
22:18Hold right there.
22:19Hold that thing right there.
22:20Yeah.
22:22I'm about to spend.
22:23Yep.
22:24You're good.
22:24Let it go.
22:25You're good.
22:26Everything's been pressure tested.
22:27We know they're going to not take on water.
22:30Everything's all fastened up underneath there.
22:32Once that's on, we're going to bring the boat out.
22:37We're going to bring the cabin out.
22:41And we're going to get that up on top of the boat.
22:48Yep.
22:51That over that way just a hair.
22:55Straight.
22:57Get it right down towards the deck.
23:00Try to lower them both.
23:02Okay, Tom, you're clean.
23:04Roscoe, you're clean.
23:09It got rid of the nerves in a hurry because we got it up.
23:12We got it on the boat.
23:15Now we've just got to center it, bolt it down, secure it.
23:20Marvelous.
23:21That was easy enough.
23:30All right, right over here, you're actually going to make some curtains for a little privacy up for the bedroom
23:35area.
23:36So we're going to do two panels for the bathroom and the bathroom curtain.
23:40So first things first is Jedi loves playing cards.
23:45Mm-hmm.
23:45And so I was thinking we could just have all the suits just randomly gathered about, however.
23:50So I have some red material for the heart of the diamond, some black for the spade, and the club.
23:58The club, thank you.
23:58And then the gray will be the actual curtain.
24:02This right here is some paper that allows you to attach the fabric to the fabric so that we don't
24:09have to sew it on.
24:10I got some scissors right here.
24:12Let me cut the paper.
24:17So the first thing we had to do was iron the fabric to the adhesive paper.
24:26So pretty much we iron it onto here.
24:28And then now, once this cools down, we'll peel that.
24:33Then we'll stick that onto here.
24:35Okay.
24:38We'll take this one, set it aside, let it cool.
24:39We'll do red.
24:40Once we did that...
24:44You want to cut out these things so we can trace them?
24:46We traced out the designs that we wanted.
24:49Then we cut those out, and then those onto the fabric.
24:53You think it went like that?
24:54Uh, is it supposed to go like...
24:56I don't remember.
24:58Hot dog?
24:59Okay, yeah, I was going to go this way.
25:00Hot dog?
25:01Hot dog or hamburger?
25:03I don't even know what that means.
25:05Horizontal or vertical?
25:06That's a thing?
25:07Yeah.
25:08What?
25:09Horizontal or vertical?
25:10Hot dog or hamburger?
25:13I've never heard of this in my life.
25:14The hamburger patty couldn't really be vertical.
25:16Oh, yeah.
25:17So your hot dog's vertical?
25:18Yeah, so your hot dog's vertical?
25:21Horizontal.
25:22Horizontal.
25:22You're trying to trick me.
25:23No, your hot dog's vertical.
25:24This is horizon.
25:25Horizon.
25:28You know what?
25:29I don't know.
25:29I didn't learn this.
25:30They're both horizontal as far as I'm concerned.
25:33Okay, there we go.
25:35Do you like it?
25:36Put it up there.
25:38Yeah.
25:38I always love working with Eva.
25:40Booyah.
25:41Booyah.
25:42The older she gets.
25:43It looks good, right?
25:44Yeah.
25:45I think it looks really good.
25:46The more helpful she is.
25:47Oh, boy.
25:49Yeah.
25:49Very good.
25:50Well, no.
25:51She's always been helpful.
25:52I don't see anything.
25:53You don't?
25:54I see a triangle not finished.
25:56Chase!
25:57Chase!
25:57Have a race!
25:58Okay.
25:59Let off this gas.
26:01Are you learning how to drive?
26:03Any chance I get to work with any of the girls or Fletcher, I'm going to take it.
26:09Here we go.
26:10Your first curtain.
26:11All right.
26:12I don't have a curtain rod.
26:13However, I got a broom.
26:15Oh, this is good.
26:16Oh, look at that.
26:17Right?
26:18Beautiful.
26:18Oh, my gosh.
26:20Right?
26:20And they can go like that.
26:22I'm just going to go and make the other one and have a match.
26:25I love this.
26:26Mm-hmm.
26:26Looks great.
26:27It actually really does.
26:28Cool.
26:29Thank you for helping me.
26:30Absolutely.
26:31Bye.
26:32Bye.
26:39So we've had a few changes here on the boat in the last two weeks.
26:42One thing you can see right off the bat here, we took this old railing system from the original boat.
26:47We took it.
26:48We cleaned it up.
26:49We powder coated it.
26:50Gave it a nice new look, a new color.
26:53Keep everybody safe on the front.
26:55We've built our ladder here and got this coated non-slip stick surface.
27:01But most of all, we got our stereo hooked up.
27:04We have sound in all four corners and a big bass box bench seat right there in the back.
27:10Now that the wiring got run, we were able to come in here and skin off all our walls.
27:15But the big part about the inside here is this control board.
27:18So we've got, obviously, our amps for our speakers and then our subs.
27:23We have our stereo, our running lights, our stern lights, our LED lights, and our spotlight.
27:29Today's focus, we're going to get the bathroom set up.
27:32We're going to have a pump that's going to pull water from the lake to allow us to flush.
27:40And then we're going to go out the side and we're going to have a nice, clean, easy-access clean
27:45-out for when we need to empty the tank.
27:49We've got a nice five-foot holding tank, a top-mount toilet.
27:53We'll close this in and we'll have a work-in bathroom.
27:56Hey!
27:57We have a toilet!
27:58Oh, I mean, that's perfect head height to look out the window.
28:01Look out what's going on.
28:02Get some scenery.
28:03That is perfect.
28:11Nice!
28:12Looking good.
28:14Man.
28:15Oh, man.
28:15That is beautiful.
28:17Looking good, Jedi.
28:18Good morning.
28:19Every time we show up, it looks better and better.
28:21Well, yeah.
28:22Welcome to Club Jed.
28:24It's really coming together now.
28:27Summer weather's on to us, so a lot of punch list stuff.
28:30Thankfully, we got the rest of the crew coming here to help us out with these things.
28:33Show us what's going on.
28:34Yeah, come on up.
28:35Let's see it.
28:36It's impressive.
28:37It's very impressive.
28:38Looks great with the sliding door on the front.
28:41Yeah, the black windows, the ladder to the upper deck.
28:44Nice view from up here.
28:46Laying home!
28:47Really came together.
28:48Very simple inside.
28:50We just kind of scum it with what we had here for materials kicking around.
28:54That stuff looks beautiful.
28:55Makes it nice and bright in here.
28:57Tell us about this.
28:58That is a porcelain toilet.
28:59Beats a bucket.
29:01Just going to be a wall and a curtain.
29:02I'll start building that wall if you don't mind.
29:04Okay, yeah.
29:05Absolutely.
29:06If anybody wants to do the lights, these are wicked simple.
29:08Plug and play, baby.
29:11This is one good thing about working on this boat.
29:13Not in the water.
29:16Let's work on the four interior lights.
29:18These are thicker gauge wire.
29:20So just to help that out, I'm going to tape back twice as much as revealed and fold it back
29:24on itself.
29:24That way we'll get a positive contact.
29:27Switch.
29:30Ah, yes!
29:31We've got lights.
29:32We've got lights.
29:33We've got lights.
29:33We've got lights.
29:36This thing is crazy.
29:37What's up?
29:37You like it?
29:40I like it.
29:41We got lights.
29:42I love it.
29:43Jedi, this thing is sick.
29:45What the?
29:46You can stay on it anytime you want.
29:48I've never heard Ashley say sick.
29:49So cool.
29:50This is sick.
29:52Totally tubular.
29:53You know, I'm just getting nowhere with these guys today.
29:56Why don't you put some music on your cool sound system?
29:58Ready to work.
29:59Is that going to be a sick montage?
30:01Sick montage.
30:02Sick.
30:02You're using words I've never heard you use today.
30:04Sick montage, coming up.
30:14Yeah.
30:15Yeah, yeah.
30:16Those motors are rocking.
30:18Don't come a-knocking.
30:20Yeah, rock.
30:26Nice.
30:31Sick.
30:31We've got 48 hours left.
30:33Everybody's up here.
30:34They're hustling.
30:35That's crew in there working on that upper rail system.
30:44Something that high up, we needed a good tall railing so nobody is falling off the side.
30:51Sweet.
30:54And now we're just working on getting our panels on there just to keep it safe.
30:58You can lean right on it, you can hang off from it, and it's not going to come apart on
31:03you.
31:03We're almost ready to get in the water.
31:15Great wall.
31:17So basically we're just trying to enclose the bathroom so people can have a little bit of privacy.
31:22So we're just building basically two walls.
31:25We just need one and one on the opposite side.
31:29Lovely.
31:31Big enough if you've got to take care of business.
31:34Last wall.
31:35The curtain will be what encloses the toilet.
31:39Nice.
31:42Enough room to turn around.
31:43Get a little fishing jig pole out there.
31:47Hi, Brian.
31:48How's it going?
31:49Good.
31:50One thing Jedi did ask me to do was figure out how to put the name on the boat.
31:55Ready to put some stickers on?
31:56Yeah.
31:56Nice.
31:56The local graphic designer did such a great job with the wrapping of the boat.
32:01Let me come up and help.
32:04He had all the decals printed out ready to go.
32:07My kid goes to school, he's like, my dad's a rapper.
32:10I'm like, no, he's not.
32:12That's pretty funny.
32:14Now you can peel.
32:17Right?
32:21Looks perfect.
32:22I love it.
32:23Jebediah, Obadiah.
32:24Are we lettered?
32:25Come check it out.
32:28Watch your head.
32:29Oh, man.
32:30That's beautiful.
32:31Nice work.
32:32Just as beautiful as my mother was.
32:34My baker would be some...
32:36Yeah, she would.
32:37Some happy about this.
32:38That's a special piece right there.
32:39Yeah.
32:39She loved, loved, loved being on the water.
32:42She's been gone probably 13 years now.
32:45She hasn't been able to see any of this journey that I've been on.
32:47And she would love every bit of it.
32:49Thank you, guys.
32:50Appreciate it.
33:01We have 48 hours to get this boat ready.
33:04So this is like a two day, so I'm just figuring out on my end what I need to get.
33:07But we can't even get into the boat to decorate until it's in the water.
33:12So we're gonna have to have everything there, ready to go.
33:15Boom.
33:16Put it in.
33:16Here you go, Jedi.
33:17How about curtains?
33:18I got curtains.
33:20That's all I did.
33:21That's all I...
33:21You got a curtain?
33:23You guys really want curtains over all the windows?
33:25If I get curtains for everything, then you're just gonna have a boat full of curtains.
33:28No.
33:28My job is to go and decorate.
33:31Tom, what do we think about seats?
33:33Let's go with that seat for the captain's chair.
33:35But if the homeowner, Jedi, doesn't know what they want, what are you doing?
33:38But I don't know.
33:39Do we want that one?
33:41I can't even see it.
33:42Yeah, you just threw a whole loop and everything.
33:45She doesn't like the camel.
33:46It's stressful.
33:47Are you talking about using this as a captain's chair?
33:50I'm getting nowhere.
33:51I'm asking questions.
33:51They're taking me to this chair.
33:53They're taking me to that chair.
33:54That would be the captain's chair.
33:56These I can kind of picture right inside the door in front of the console with a little
34:01round table in between them.
34:03Either in front of the console or we bring it to the right side and we have more room.
34:08On this right side, we'll do two.
34:09Who would that be?
34:11Starboard or what's the other one?
34:13Port is left, starboard is right.
34:15There we go.
34:15Tom and Jedi, they change their minds a lot.
34:16They could be like, you know, make the decision about one thing and all of a sudden,
34:20like, squirrel, they're definitely onto something, change their minds.
34:23You're going to be Captain Jared.
34:25Hey, stop.
34:25We got to know this stuff.
34:26We got to start like we know what we're talking about.
34:30Starboard's right, port is left.
34:31You guys, we have other things to talk about.
34:34We're giving this back in 48 hours and you guys are leaving me with nothing.
34:36You're giving me the stress.
34:37I have a plan.
34:39It's going to be whatever I come up with and they're going to be happy with it.
34:42Come on, Trigger.
34:42Let's go back to the boat.
34:44They can't make the decisions.
34:45Let me make them for you.
34:47Right and starboard are the bigger words.
34:56She's floating now.
34:57There she is.
34:58It's boat weather.
34:59So today's the day that we set sail.
35:02Got the boat down to the boat launch this morning.
35:05Hopefully there's not too much stuff.
35:06Not a lot of room.
35:07My team showed up and we're getting it decorated.
35:10But I do want to surprise a Jedi a little bit since he's been here for the whole build.
35:13So if we can just get everything in here, don't let him in, then we can just all bust it
35:17out.
35:18You know, there's five of us plus these guys.
35:21So this should be.
35:23We're going fishing.
35:23Yeah.
35:24You're not going fishing.
35:25Way too many people on this boat already.
35:26You're just going to help us bust it out real quick.
35:28Come on, Chase.
35:29Team player.
35:29We knew that we had only a couple hours to get it done.
35:32So we just brought in all of the furniture and got it ready.
35:42Check it.
35:42There's not even enough room for us yet.
35:46A lot going on.
35:49It just looks heavy.
35:51Oh.
35:52Tom showed up with the ladder.
35:54Straight up.
35:55Waking it up right now.
35:57Dixie, Ryan and I just put in the top railings.
36:01Okay.
36:02You in?
36:03You hold on.
36:04Yep.
36:06You doing the quick shuffle.
36:08Great Northern crew showed up this morning with all of the dock system that the boat was going to dock
36:15up to.
36:16Oh.
36:16Wind's blowing.
36:18Perfect timing.
36:19It floats.
36:20The motor runs.
36:21And it was something that we've never done before.
36:23We've never done anything like this.
36:24Not just being a boat, but also the materials that we use and everything.
36:29Let's go down.
36:31Okay.
36:32Chase, we need to apply the SPF.
36:34I tan red.
36:36Well, the Madeline Jean's officially done.
36:39Here's your ship.
36:39Come and get it.
36:40Come on board.
36:41I love it.
36:43Let's go.
36:44Dressed it up a little bit.
36:45Haven't been gone long, but the changes are big.
36:48Yes.
36:48No, it needed some changes.
36:50It was pretty basic.
36:53Ships ahoy.
36:54Ships ahoy's right.
36:55Walking up to the boat, it finally felt like it was done.
36:58Nice.
37:00Very nice.
37:01We needed some decor on this thing.
37:03You know, it was fun working on it in the shop, nice and level, but it's great to see it
37:08on the water though.
37:08Yeah.
37:09Yeah.
37:10Finally.
37:10It was a big relief.
37:12Added a whole pontoon to the center.
37:14Not to mention the actual structure itself.
37:16The structure itself.
37:17This ain't no shed.
37:18I mean, the beautiful windows, aluminum ladder, the second floor railings, the sound system.
37:24Let's check this bad boy out.
37:26Needed a little decoration in there.
37:29Oh, beautiful.
37:31Welcome aboard the Madeline Jean.
37:33Yes.
37:33Nice.
37:35Bathroom, all new console.
37:38It's got a sleeping space.
37:39I could definitely take a nap up in there.
37:42Oh, that's beautiful.
37:43That's perfect.
37:45Walking onto the boat, seeing everything finished.
37:47Thing looks pretty sweet.
37:49Wanted to just give you a little bit of privacy.
37:51So I sewed these with actually Eva.
37:53Oh, nice.
37:54Is that cool?
37:54Yeah, those are beautiful.
37:55The decor in there was awesome.
37:57Ashley knows I play a lot of cards.
37:59This boat right off the bat was a gamble.
38:01So the poker theme was perfect.
38:02Let's get to the other deck.
38:10Man, putting these rails in, dropped right in, pinned right in place.
38:14It's well thought out.
38:16Time and budget.
38:18How'd you do on both?
38:19We said about four to five months and a budget of about $50,000.
38:22And we got $42 left.
38:26But from the very beginning, like you guys, you had a vision.
38:29You wanted a second floor on top of it.
38:32You wanted sleeping space, bathroom, kick and sound system.
38:37The big question is, how does she plane out through the water?
38:41I mean, there's really only one thing left to do and that's set sail.
38:44Finally!
38:45Something I thought I would never say with you.
38:47Grab your life jacket.
38:49I will never get on a jet ski with you, but I will get on this boat.
38:52Getting the boat in the water, step number one.
38:54That was a relief for sure.
38:56Right there.
38:59We're sailing!
39:01Getting the motor going, step number two.
39:03Putting it under power, step number three.
39:06What a beautiful dock.
39:08Cut it now.
39:10Money.
39:12Line.
39:13Line number one.
39:14Yep, you go with that one, I'll grab the second one.
39:16Beautiful bumpers right on the dock system.
39:18Look at that!
39:18Like butter, Tom.
39:18Nice job.
39:19This is sweet.
39:21Yeah, so eventually you will have this moored.
39:26Yeah.
39:26And then you'll be able to take the boat out and then come back to wherever this is moored.
39:30So this is kind of like your home base.
39:31Everything worked out pretty well.
39:32It was a great partnership with Tom and the guys up at the shop.
39:36I really just want to thank everybody that helped us out through this.
39:38Everybody enjoys being on the water.
39:40Everybody wants to share the water.
39:42And I think it's just a great thing.
39:44I want to thank everybody truly.
39:47Thank you everyone!
