00:43during their second round of indirect nuclear talks in Geneva.
01:10The U.S. government tightens restrictive measures against Cuba while Havana denounces the energy
01:16blockade of LA's sovereignty and international trade. U.S. President Donald Trump has extended
01:21for one year the executive order authorizing the detention and inspection of U.S. and foreign
01:27vessels bound for Cuba, according to the Federal Register. The measure is part of the so-called
01:33national emergency with respect to Cuba, in effect since 1996 when it was initially
01:39signed by former U.S. President Bill Clinton. In response, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez
01:44Barrilla stated that the decision constitutes a validation of all the principles of international
01:50trade and creates extreme conditions for the Cuban people.
01:58The Peruvian Congress removed unelected President José Heri from office
02:03after he was involved in a series of scandals and accused of influence peddling. In an extraordinary
02:10plenarization parliamentarians approved Heri's dismissal with 75 votes in favor, 24 against and
02:16three abstentions. Congress stood this step after admitting the seven motions of censure to debate and
02:22then unifying them into one to facilitate the vote. In the meantime, Fujimori supporters and other
02:28forces tried to obstruct the process arguing that Heri should be removed by a motion of peccancy
02:34and not of censure, but the plenary rejected the request. Also, the first vice president in charge of the presidency
02:41of
02:41parliament, Fernando Ross Piliosi, announced that the position of president of the country is backhand.
02:5375 congressmen have voted in favor, 24 against, and three abstentions.
03:07Congressmen, the motions of censure to the president of the congress of the republic,
03:12in charge of the presidency of the republic, Mr. José Enrique Heri Orr, have been approved.
03:22Having approved the motions of censure to the president of the congress of the republic,
03:27in charge of the presidency of the republic, Mr. José Enrique Heri Orr, the executive board declares the
03:36vacancy of the position of president of the congress of the republic,
03:43and, consequently, the vacancy of the position of president of the republic.
04:00The central southern region of Chile remains in a state of emergency following forest fires that have
04:06burned nearly 1,000 hectares in the municipalities of Linares and Bichuken to date. The national forest
04:13corporation, CONAF, classified the Cajón de Peja Freight fire in Linares as critical, which has already
04:21devastated 522 hectares. At the same time, in Bichuken, the fire consumed another 450 hectares,
04:29mobilizing a large-scale deployment of brigades, aircraft, and heavy machinery, such as motor graders
04:35and water trucks. Due to the proximity of the flames, the populated areas authorities ordered immediate
04:43preventive evacuations to protect the population from the advance of the active fire.
04:53In the United States, strong winds are finding the flames of multiple forest fires in the central
04:58and southern parts of the country, forcing the evacuation of several communities. Authorities are
05:04fighting the rapid advance of the fire, which is being driven by strong ghosts that are hindering
05:10firefighting efforts in the state of Kansas. At least three localities were evacuated as an emergency
05:17measure due to the proximity of the flames. It should be noted that the highest alert level remains in
05:23effect in the region, where adverse weather conditions are forecast to continue in the coming
05:28hours. In this context, meteorological experts warn that temperatures will reach record
05:33levels in some U.S. areas, possibly the most sustained period of hot weather.
05:43And UNICEF expresses concern over the vulnerability of children in Madagascar after the cyclone
05:49Ghassani, which left dozens dead and thousands displaced. The storm left only 59 people dead and
05:56triggered a humanitarian crisis that threatens access to basic services and education. According to the
06:03agency's report, at least 6,000 children are among the displaced and nearly 29,000 students have been
06:10forced out of school due to infrastructure destruction. In light of this situation, UNICEF has
06:16confirmed that it is working with the government of Madagascar to restore normalcy and mitigate
06:22epidemiological risk.
06:30We change topic in Kenya. A strike by workers at Nairobi's Jomo Kenjata International Airport led to flight
06:38cancellations and massive delays. The strike was called by the Aviation Workers Union due to differences
06:44over labor agreements and warned that operational safety and crew schedules would be compromised
06:49if the demands were not met. After intense government mediation, the authorities confirmed the end of
06:55the forest and immediate return to work, although the details of the final agreement were not revealed.
07:01This crisis revived the tensions of 2024 when staff protested against failed bids linked to foreign
07:08groups, highlighting structural friction between management and local staff.
07:17In other news, unemployment in the UK hit 5.2% in the last quarter of 2025, the highest since
07:25January 2021.
07:27Experts attribute the deterioration of the labor market to three factors. Increase in employer contributions
07:34in 2024, the increase in the minimum wage, and the impact of the Employment Rights Act, whose greater
07:41protection for workers is set to have slowed higher. With inflation at 3.4%, the United Kingdom remains far
07:49from the Bank of England's percent that faced with stagnant growth. Starmer's government faces the
07:57challenge of reviving the economy, while the private sector absolves new fiscal and regulatory adjustment.

08:37Welcome back. Iran's Foreign Minister Abak Sarachi announced that Iran and the United States have
08:43reached a general understanding on guiding principles during the second round of Internet
08:48nuclear talks in Geneva. Abak Sarachi stated that various proposals were presented and discussed
08:54seriously by both sides. Ultimately, they agreed on a set of guiding principles that will serve
09:00as the foundation for drafting the text of a potential agreement. The Foreign Minister emphasized that
09:06negotiations will now move forward based on these principles, with both parties preparing draft
09:11documents which will be exchanged before a date is set for the next round of talks.
09:16Arachi also stressed that a final deal is not imminent, and while noting that progress has been made,
09:22he acknowledged that significant differences between the two sides still remain.
09:32Once drafting of the text begins, the work naturally becomes more detailed and complex. In my view,
09:39good progress has been made compared with the previous round, and we now have a clearer path ahead.
09:46which I see as positive. The time has been set for the third round.
09:52It was agreed that both sides will work further on draft text for a potential agreement, after which the
10:00draft will be exchanged and a date for a third round will be set.
10:07Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Arashi also has warned about the consequences of normalizing violations of
10:13international rules and norms. On Tuesday, in Geneva, the top diplomat met with his Swiss counterpart Ignacio
10:19Cassis after leading a high-ranking Iranian delegation in a second round of renewed indirect
10:24nuclear negotiations with the United States. Arachi emphasized the importance of governments upholding the
10:30rule of law and the principle on regulations of the United Nations Charter and international law.
10:35In this context, on the negotiations process, the top diplomat described the talks as serious and focused.
10:48Iran's Revolutionary Guard stepped up large-scale military exercise in the Strait of Hormuz,
10:54the most strategic maritime transit point for global oil. During the maneuvers,
11:00Iranian authorities announced the temporary closure of several sectors of the Strait for security reasons,
11:06and included the launch of ballistic missiles, the deployment of swarms of drones, and the use of
11:12advanced electronic civilian systems to track maritime targets. According to Iranian authorities,
11:18the main objective is to strengthen the defensive capacity of the troops and ensure the protection
11:23of territorial warriors against possible strainer threats. These operations are being carried out
11:29as part of an effort to improve the operational readiness of Iran's elite forces.
11:57Palestine condemned the ongoing bloodshed in the occupied Palestinian territories following attacks by Israeli
12:03occupation forces and settlers. A Palestinian government accused the Zionist entity of systematic
12:08violations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, citing as an example the recent decision by Benjamin
12:14Netanyahu's government to register Palestinian land as a state property. Palestinians denounced that
12:20Zionist troops and Israeli settlers are escalating violence on an almost daily basis. Palestine called on
12:26the international community, especially the United States, to stop the war and force its main ally to
12:32cease its actions that fuel the cycle of violence and conflict in the region.
12:45The Israeli army demolished a family home in Jenin in the occupied West Bank. The operation included
12:50closing access to the city and evacuating nearby residents. Israeli forces demolished a three-story
12:56house in the town of Silat al-Haritia. It should be noted that the house belonged to the family of
13:03Rafat
13:04Dabasa, a Palestinian who died in an Israeli bombing of his vehicle in August 2024. In addition, local
13:10officers also reported that during the operation, live ammunition was fired in the vicinity of several schools.
13:23Syrian authorities have launched a swift evacuation of the Al-Haul camp by relocating thousands of
13:29Arktarians in northern Aleppo in an urgent humanitarian needs. Syrian authorities initiated on February 17th the
13:37evacuation of the Al-Haul camp in Al-Hazakad province, relocating residents of Arktarian camp. The urgent
13:45decision to transfer Al-Haul's inhabitants stemmed from severe shortages in essential living resources
13:51as stated by Fadi Al-Khazem, the official managing the facility. The camp has been specifically prepared
13:59to accommodate the displaced individuals ensuring their immediate reception and improved living conditions.

14:23events of financial break. Don't go away. Welcome back. In Palestine, thousands of worshipers performed the Isha
14:39and Tarabi prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the first night of the holy month of Ramadan. Despite the
14:45restrictions imposed by the occupying forces, a crowd was able to access the sacred complex after the sighting
14:52of the waxing moon was confirmed. The day was marked by tension after the police broke into the mosque.

15:59And in Italy, after 18 days of celebration, the traditional Venice Carnival came to an end. It was a time
16:05when the
16:06mystery of mass blended with a water-dominated scenery. Under the slogan Olympus, this edition paid tribute to the 25th
16:14Winter Olympic Games, which are being held simultaneously in the Veneto region and surrounding areas. Unlike previous years,
16:22attendees had to adapt their sophisticated outfits to the weather conditions. Since January 27th, the Venice has faced an
16:31exceptionally prolonged high tide with repast of up to 1.35 meters. This phenomenon transformed iconic locations such as
16:42Saint Mark Square into mirror-like waters. At the close of the celebration, the city handed over the Batum to
16:48the sports
16:49competitions that continue in the region.
17:08In Venezuela, Carnival brought joy and color to the popular neighborhoods of Caracas in the San Agustin area,
17:14a community initiative that refreshes the festivities and ensures fun for the little ones. Hundreds of
17:21children and families enjoyed the 2026 Carnival celebrations in the iconic San Agustin neighborhood
17:27with a unique attraction, a water slide installed right in the middle of the street. The initiatives transformed

17:41activity
17:41was part of the popular celebrations that spread throughout the city, promoting culture and recreation in one of
17:47the most traditional areas of the Venezuelan capital.

18:09in the morning. Filled with rhythm, color, music and cultural significance, different Carnival blocks were
18:15created to maintain the festivity atmosphere throughout the Brazilian city. Previously, about seven Samba groups

19:38This event is part of the competition that will select the best participants for the street carnival this
19:43Wednesday, February 18th.
