Uproar at Khereshwar Mahadev Temple: Undergarment Stall Sparks Major Clash

A commotion broke out at the Khereshwar Mahadev Temple complex in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, after objections were raised over a stall allegedly selling women’s undergarments inside the premises.

According to reports, a man identified as Armaan had set up the stall within the temple complex, located under the Lodha police station area. On Saturday night, Sachin Raghav, associated with the Karni Sena, along with four to five supporters, entered the temple premises and began protesting.

It is alleged that Raghav went to the temple’s lost and found centre, took the microphone from the announcer, and used it to voice objections. During the protest, an altercation reportedly broke out between members of the temple committee and Karni Sena workers.

Upon receiving information about the disturbance, local police reached the spot and detained three youths for allegedly creating a ruckus. The situation was brought under control after the stall was closed. The detained Karni Sena members were later sent to jail under sections related to disturbing the peace.

Speaking from custody, Sachin Raghav claimed that they were protesting against the stall operating inside the temple complex and alleged that they were being treated as criminals despite committing no offence.

Lodha police station in-charge Hemant Mavi stated that action was taken against the three individuals for disturbing public order. Further legal proceedings are underway.
