00:00There's a really interesting story that we've been following that's from New Zealand,
00:03and in particular it's about New Zealand's wonderful natural history.
00:07Everyone knows that New Zealand is home to a lot of special species that don't exist elsewhere,
00:12and one of them, the kakapo, is a giant flightless parrot.
00:15They aren't doing very well, and there are only a few left,
00:18so it's very important to understand their history.
00:20And recently there's been a discovery in a cave on New Zealand's northern island
00:25of specimens from about a million to a million and a half years ago
00:30that include the ancestors of the kakapo parents, so it's pretty exciting.
00:34I hope you get to read about it on popularmechanics.com soon.
