00:00And let's start with my first winner, and that's Chicago.
00:04And I just want to kind of explain really my thoughts on why they are a winner,
00:10even though this team may not make the playoffs.
00:14When you think about Chicago and years ago when Lonzo Ball was healthy
00:19with DeRozan and Levine, I was not a big believer that team was going to go very far.
00:25Then obviously Lonzo gets hurt, and the team just bottoms out.
00:28And I just felt for too many years Billy Donovan and that organization
00:31kept running it back with DeRozan, with, you know, obviously Levine,
00:38with Vucevic, with Patrick Williams, with Kobe White.
00:41And I was just waiting for the time that they blew it up,
00:45and they kept going halfway in.
00:47Well, they stepped themselves all the way out.
00:50And that's the important thing for me, is getting rid of Vuce,
00:54not because Vuce wasn't a good player.
00:58They're not going anywhere.
01:00They got to get the guy out of there and get him to where he could try and win.
01:04Kobe White's a little bit different, but he doesn't fit the timeline of Chicago, right?
01:11And they can get something for them.
01:13So when you look at Chicago now, and you look at Jaden Ivey,
01:18when you look at Anthony Simons, when you look at, you know, Josh Giddy,
01:24when you look at Bozellis, right?
01:28Even getting a guy like Nick Richards, who was a big-time rebounding threat.
01:33And you got a guy like Colin Sexton, who's a good veteran
01:36that can kind of help these guys along.
01:39I love what Chicago did, because they finally decided that they listened to me.
01:44And I've said this time and time again on this network.
01:48Either you're winning or you're rebuilding.
01:52The last thing you want to do is get stuck in the middle.
01:56You've got to make a choice.
01:58And Chicago finally made a choice.
02:00They decided to rebuild.
02:02And kudos to their organization, because I think they did fantastic
02:05with a lot of young talent.
02:07They have guards, they can spray the ball around,
02:10and it'll be fun to watch.
02:12They may not look organized, but Chicago, at least it's going to be fun to watch.
02:16The other winning team that I thought won the deadline was the Knicks.
02:22And it's twofold.
02:24First, you had to get rid of Yabusele.
02:27It was not working.
02:30It just, he came in not in great shape.
02:33He never fit Mike Brown's system.
02:35And it just, it didn't work for Yabusele.
02:38So the Knicks won by getting rid of Yabusele.
02:43Now, by getting Terry and then flipping him for Grand Theft Auto Alvarado
02:48and getting him in a trade, the Knicks got themselves in Alvarado,
02:54a dynamic guard.
02:55Puerto Rico, stand up, Boricuas everywhere are going wild.
03:00Wait how crazy it's going to be at MSG when GTA V gets on the floor.
03:05But I'll spend more time about it to fit with Alvarado in a little bit.
03:11But there's a sneaky part.
03:12There's two other sneaky parts about this that make sense for the Knicks.
03:17Number one, by getting rid of Yabusele,
03:20they get out of his contract for next year.
03:23But what they also do is they open up room for the Knicks
03:27to go get and sign another player now.
03:31So where would I look if I'm the Knicks?
03:34I would look at Chris Boucher.
03:37I need a big to protect myself from that guy,
03:41Corey Anthony Towns, who has been healthy but can get into foul trouble,
03:45but also Mitchell Robinson, who has been fantastic.
03:49Now, Boucher is nothing like Mitchell Robinson,
03:53but he's better than, you know, the backup they have now behind Mitch
04:00that I'm blanking on his name,
04:03but he will do better than that as an insurance policy.
