00:00Snaps with debacle last night, 12-point lead going into the fourth quarter, and somehow,
00:05someway, the New York Knicks give you the worst fourth quarter, no joke, no exaggeration,
00:09that they've given you the entire season.
00:1115 points at home, and a very, very tough loss to the Atlanta Hawks, and now we get
00:17to play the game of, who do you blame?
00:19Good morning, Tyrone.
00:20How you doing today, pal?
00:21Good morning to you.
00:23You smile.
00:23Just smile away.
00:24Smile away.
00:25You lost by 50 in game one.
00:27Listen, and it might-
00:28I'm lashing out.
00:28I apologize.
00:29And it may happen again with the Sixers tonight, but I do think this loss last night for the
00:34Knicks could have repercussions beyond just one game.
00:37You think?
00:37As you look ahead to the Celtics, is this Knicks team good enough to get it done?
00:41Yeah, I think they are good enough to get it done.
00:43I do think they're still going to beat the Atlanta Hawks, but it's an unacceptable loss
00:46last night.
00:47We can go through, you know, kind of the list of who gets blamed the most, I think.
00:52Number one, I think we'd all agree, the guy that has to shoulder the majority of the blame
00:56for the collapse in the fourth quarter is New York Mets owner Steve Cohen.
01:01Get your unlucky ass out of my building, Steve Cohen.
01:05You've lost 11 consecutive games with the New York Mets.
01:09We don't want your bad juju in our building.
01:12Okay, now, let's go to basketball.
01:14And real fast, is it a rule that he has to wear a Mets hat everywhere he goes?
01:18Let's let everybody know who he is.
01:19Meanwhile, he's the most hated guy in New York right now.
01:21Just sit, listen, sit courtside.
01:22You're rich, but why do you have to wear that hat?
01:25Yeah, a reminder that I'm a billionaire that owns the New York Mets.
01:27You lost 11 consecutive games.
01:29You douche knuckle.
01:30Get out of my building.
01:31All you do is bring bad luck everywhere you go from a sports perspective.
01:36Maybe you should bring the mayor here to hug Jalen Brunson before game five, you knucklehead.
01:42All right, let's get to basketball.
01:44Now, number one in this game, and I'm watching it on TV like the rest of you are, NBC, or
01:50I think it's done a terrific job up to this point, was a disaster last night.
01:55As soon as they put, and it was their graphic error, nobody else's, that the Knicks had a
02:02timeout, and then they tell Noah Eagle the Knicks have a timeout.
02:06Noah was right in the broadcast.
02:08If the Knicks have a timeout, once McCollum misses the first free throw, even if he makes
02:16the next free throw or misses the next free throw, and it's a two-point game, the Knicks
02:21would have called the timeout if they had one.
02:23You advanced the ball to half court.
02:25Boom.
02:25And now you've got five and a half seconds or so.
02:28You're going to get a good shot off.
02:30Oh, yeah.
02:30Half court offense inbounding from a midcourt.
02:33Yep.
02:33But here's the problem.
02:35The Knicks did not have an extra timeout because NBA rules are you can use two timeouts after
02:41under three minutes to play.
02:43They called the timeout at 2.43.
02:46They called the timeout at 10.1.
02:49So we're watching the game thinking we got a timeout.
02:52So when McCollum misses the second free throw and the rebound comes down to Josh Hart, and
02:57he then forwards the pass to, what's his name, McHale Bridges, and he breaks the corner
03:03three to win the game, we're like, why didn't you call a timeout?
03:07Could have got a better look.
03:08Why is he taking that shot in that spot?
03:09And I'm yelling and screaming at Mike Brown for being a bad coach.
03:12I take back my yells and screams over there and didn't hear him.
03:15They were in my own living room.
03:17Right.
03:17The New York Knicks did not have a timeout.
03:19That is a terrible job by NBC.
03:22It's not why they lost the game.
03:23They lost the game because Jalen Brunson can't help himself.
03:29And in the final three minutes of the game, really 2.50 in the game, nobody else said the
03:34Knicks took a shot.
03:35He started playing hero ball, and hero ball was not needed.
03:39And all of a sudden, Carl Anthony Towns, who again had a great third quarter, how many
03:45points did he have in the fourth quarter?
03:47Yeah, I don't remember any.
03:48Zero.
03:49Yeah.
03:49How many shots did he take?
03:51I don't remember any.
03:52Maybe one early in the fourth quarter.
03:54So you've got this great two-man game that's finally working.
03:58It was great in game one.
03:59It was great in the third quarter.
04:01And they forget about it.
04:03And I'm saying to myself, how do you play a fourth quarter when a guy who is dominant
04:09and was playing bully ball against anybody and everybody that the Atlanta Hawks threw his
04:15way from gay to the other guys as well?
04:18And you don't give that guy a shot?
04:20It's strange.
04:21Now, part of that's on Mike Brown, part of that's on Jalen Brunson, and part of that's
04:27on Carl Anthony Towns.
04:28Yeah.
04:28You've got to demand the rock when you're dominating in the low post.
04:33Bad job.
04:33You're absolutely right about that.
04:35And that was the question when the Cat trade happened is there are times where when you
04:39play with Brunson, you become a bystander unless you force your way to the ball and
04:44Cat was too passive.
04:45And at times, we've seen this.
04:47So now, reason number two.
04:48I will get more in depth if you want.
04:50Reason number two.
04:51OG misses the two free throws late.
04:53All right.
04:56And the New York Knicks as a team missed 10 free throws last night.
05:00It's playoff basketball.
05:02It's one thing if Mitchell Robinson is going to the free throw line and Atlanta plays
05:07Hakamich, right?
05:08Nothing you can do.
05:08Which they did in game one.
05:09Right.
05:09There's nothing you can do about that.
05:10And I think he made two out of four when they got Hakamich.
05:14If it's him missing free throws, I'm upset about it.
05:18But I also understand it.
05:19If it's Jalen Brunson missing free throws, and OG Ananobi missing free throws, and Carl
05:26Anthony Towns missing free throws in a playoff game where you've got a 12-point lead going
05:33into the fourth quarter, that should be 100 out of 100.
