00:00So we were just talking off the air about the Mike Brown decision to give Alvarado huge minutes in the
00:06fourth quarter in the second half as opposed to McBride.
00:08I was actually on radio yesterday saying, because a caller brought up, can you see them going to that combination?
00:14And I said no, because they never have.
00:17If they want to go to the small guard backcourt to give Brunson a break from bringing the ball up,
00:21because Castle's been on him like white on rice, it's usually McBride that they bring in.
00:26I did not. I said that yesterday, not knowing this stat.
00:30All right. So it's like I was smarter than everybody.
00:33I didn't know the stat, but I've watched every minute of every Nick game this year.
00:37Alvarado and Brunson this entire season have never played a single minute on court together.
00:44There you go. So I like let that sink in.
00:46So with the playoffs on the line and an opportunity to win a championship on the line, Mike Brown put
00:54two guys on the court together.
00:56That have never been on the court together for a minute this season in Alvarado and Brunson.
01:03Right. So I was factually right yesterday when a caller brought it up.
01:07You hadn't seen it.
01:07I've never seen it.
01:08Because you hadn't seen it.
01:09But I have seen McBride on the court with him.
01:11All right. That's great coaching.
01:14Great coaching.
01:14That's a coach that also, this is why I hate analytics.
01:18Because analytics wouldn't have allowed that.
01:19Never.
01:20That's a gut decision.
01:21And Mike Brown said after the game, I needed some speed.
01:24I gave up size for speed.
01:26And obviously, I got to give Brunson a break bringing the ball up.
01:29Because Castle's so good defensively against him.
01:32Right.
01:32Now, Castle was not guarding him as much as he did in game three either.
01:36But the point is still made.
01:37That's how you manage and that's how you coach.
01:40A gut feeling.
01:41Because you know your guys.
01:42You know the game.
01:44And I'd make an argument that, well, OG's the obvious MVP of last night.
01:48With the tip-in to win it.
01:50And Brunson at 36.
01:51OG at 33.
01:53Pick one or the other.
01:54Don't matter to me.
01:55I'm going to lean on OG because he makes the shot.
01:57I agree.
01:57Off the Brunson miss.
01:58And the block on the other end.
01:59And the other block on Fox, which we're going to get to here in one second.
02:02Outside of those two obvious guys, hard not to want to give a game ball to Jose Alvarado.
02:07I'm going to get to here in one second.
