00:00Look, there's so many fingers to point, good and bad.
00:03Let's start with the obvious.
00:04Jalen Brunson became Michael Jordan in the fourth quarter last night.
00:07The New York Knicks couldn't shoot or hit the broadside of a barn.
00:10I think even at the end of the game with the win, they were under 20% from behind the
00:15arc.
00:15It was an embarrassment how bad they shot and how rusty they clearly were
00:19after a dominant offensive performance against Atlanta and Philadelphia over seven straight games.
00:25But I can tell you this, I've been to many events at Madison Square Garden.
00:30I don't think I've ever seen nor heard Madison Square Garden as loud as it was
00:38during that comeback over the final seven minutes.
00:41And look, and I'm not saying other buildings wouldn't have been just as loud.
00:44It was an epic historical comeback, one that nobody saw coming.
00:48I understand people leaving the building, you know, down 22, seven minutes to go.
00:53But if you left, shame on you, because you gave up.
00:57You acted like a Philadelphian.
00:59You gave up, and you said, we'll live to fight another day.
01:03But the New York Knicks said, we're not done just yet.
01:06And a combination, of course, of the great shooting late by Jalen Brunson.
01:12Let's start with him.
01:1411 consecutive points.
01:15Every one of those points against your favorite player, James Harden.
01:19Yeah, just unbelievable.
01:21So credit to Brunson.
01:22Full credit to Brunson.
01:23I don't know what took him so long, to be honest.
01:24Well, they admitted after the game, they were rushed.
01:27Nine days is a long time.
01:28It is.
01:28Nine days is a long time, and you saw it.
01:31And it ended up being 53 minutes of basketball.
01:34The last 12 were epic.
01:3644 to 11.
01:38Yeah.
01:38What Tyron's referring to.
01:39Yeah.
01:39Last seven minutes of regulation.
01:41Plus the overtime.
01:42The entirety of overtime, the five minutes of the 12-minute span.
01:45Man, in those final 12 minutes of the game, the New York Knicks outscored the Cleveland Cavaliers 44 to 11.
01:54Obscene.
01:55It's ridiculous, especially with how bad the offense had been.
01:59And then for whatever reason, Kenny Atkinson, in addition to everything else that happened, ends regulation with two timeouts in
02:07a game that became close.
02:08I've never seen a combination of a player getting that hot and the other team doing absolutely nothing to try
02:17to adjust to stop him.
02:18Well, look, they never took Harden off of Brunson.
02:21Never.
02:22And he abused him.
02:23That's just called the way it is.
02:24He was a traffic cone out there defensively, one.
02:26Number two, the Cavs missed a bunch of free throws down the stretch, which obviously helped the comeback.
02:32Number three, Jalen Brunson became the best player in the world for about a 12-minute span, a little bit
02:39less than that.
02:40And for all the people out there in the national media that are like, I said this to you the
02:43other day, and I know I'm a subjective fan because I'm a fan.
02:47Yeah.
02:47All right, so I understand that at times I see the Knicks through Knick-colored glasses.
02:52I own that 100%.
02:53It's my favorite team of all my teams.
02:56But I'm so sick and tired of all the people out there that you try to put down Jalen Brunson
03:03as he's not a superstar.
03:04He doesn't defend well.
03:06His shot's not that great.
03:08Jalen Brunson last night was Michael Jordan in crunch time.
03:13And you can say whatever you want about it.
03:15He's not fast.
03:16He's not a great defender.
03:17All the stuff that people like to say he doesn't do well.
03:20Now, every single time you tell me what Jalen Brunson can't do, he doesn't.
03:27He is one of the great fourth-quarter players this game has ever seen.
03:31Now, he's got to win a title, obviously.
03:34He's never seen.
03:34But I think the series ended last night.
03:36That is a soul-stealing, soul-crushing loss for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
03:42They should have left that building with a win last night.
03:45Yeah, they absolutely should have.
03:46Not only that, I think you're correct, unfortunately, about the series.
03:49I just don't see a path now for the Cavs to come back.
03:52Now, I'm not saying automatically they're getting swept, but there's no path to actually winning the series.
03:57So you're with me on that?
03:57I'm completely with you.
03:59I don't want to be, but I am.
04:00And I thought Kenny Atkinson, arguably, up until yesterday, was coach of the year this year.
04:05I think he's a great coach.
04:07He got that coach last night.
04:08Last night, Mike Brown took his lunch money, his mortgage money, the card note.
04:12He took all.
04:13He undressed them.
04:14And I don't know if they lose this series in four or five.
04:17It goes from coach of the year to you can't bring him back.
04:21You cannot bring Kenny Atkins back to Cleveland after what the Knicks did because they emasculated him.
04:26And then after the game, I understand he couldn't throw players under the bus, but he has to throw himself
04:32under the bus.
04:33And he refused.
04:35That hubris is going to get his ass fired.
04:37Yeah, I don't think he's going to get fired, but he did a bad job.
04:39He got outcoached by Mike Brown.
04:41And Mike Brown, the best thing Mike Brown did last night was, and I love Josh Hart, was bench Josh
04:46Hart for Landry Schaumann.
04:48Had to.
04:48And Landry Schaumann did a great job on defense against Harton for part of that in the second half.
04:55And, of course, made a couple big shots.
04:57I think he was three for three from behind the arc.
04:59Yeah, one of them.
04:59And all that in the second half.
05:00Two of them good.
05:01One of them bounced.
05:02I don't know where the hell it went.
05:04It comes right back through the net.
05:05And that's when I know, okay, game over.
05:07Or, hey, Kenny, get a timeout.
05:11Get a timeout.
05:11Get a timeout.
