Seth and Sean react to Texans DB Kamari Lassiter laughing at the notion that the Titans are the Texans' biggest rival, then assess who it actually might be.
Transcript
00:00All right, so this was Kamari Lassiter.
00:02Kamari Lassiter on Radio Row.
00:04I think it was on Radio Row.
00:05It was during last week.
00:08And Kamari Lassiter was in San Francisco because he was in the Pro Bowl.
00:11They were all staying at our hotel.
00:13Yes.
00:14What?
00:15Well, and I interviewed Kamari Lassiter, the entire group of defensive backs.
00:19We still haven't played that interview because so much of it was just those.
00:22I don't know.
00:23The audio is awful because it's those three just laughing with each other
00:27and giving each other looks and throwing shade at each other.
00:30It was Lassiter, Bullock, and Stingley?
00:33Yeah.
00:33It was very entertaining to me.
00:36But also as I'm trying to record it with my phone in vertical mode,
00:40I missed just about half of it.
00:41Right.
00:43But it's hours of work for me to turn that into something good.
00:46And I didn't have the energy to do it during the Radio Row week.
00:49Okay, so take a listen to this.
00:51This is the sick podcast.
00:54It's a Tennessee Titans podcast.
00:55And Kamari Lassiter was a guest on there.
00:58And the host presumptively calls the Titans the Texans' rivals.
01:04So take a listen to this right here.
01:07Use one word to describe the rivals of the Tennessee Titans.
01:11The rivals?
01:12Yeah.
01:14Wait, wait, wait.
01:15Wait, wait, wait.
01:17The rivals of the Titans?
01:18Who's the rival?
01:21What?
01:23He's wilding right now.
01:24Who would you consider then your biggest rival?
01:29Not the Titans.
01:32I'm not even being funny.
01:34I'm not even being funny, he says at the end right there.
01:37So no, according to Kamari Lassiter, not only are they not their rivals,
01:41we laugh in your face that the Titans are not the rivals to the Houston Texans.
01:45Well, it's also, I mean, Kamari's been here for two years.
01:50Where they've swept them.
01:51Yeah.
01:52So he hasn't, there's no reason.
01:54There's no reason that he would.
01:55Oh, actually, no, they didn't sweep them.
01:56The Titans beat them last year.
01:57No, they lost in the first game in 2024, right?
01:59Yeah, week 12.
02:00Week 12.
02:01Yeah.
02:01Yeah, that's right.
02:01That's right.
02:03It was week 12.
02:03And then they played him, was it the last game of the season?
02:05Yeah, they won in the last game of the season.
02:06In a throwaway game.
02:07Yeah.
02:08But they still won it.
02:09Yep.
02:09So, but yeah, like, yeah, he wasn't necessarily in the Titans as their rival.
02:14There'd be no reason for him to think that.
02:16Who do you think a young player, like, did.
02:19Young player right now, I'd imagine the Jaguars.
02:21Yeah.
02:22Yeah, probably.
02:23Probably.
02:24Yeah, that would have to be.
02:25I mean, if you're, if you're a young player, if you've only been in the league for a couple
02:29of years.
02:29Yep.
02:30Despite the Colts having been, you know, competitive, it's still, the Jaguars are on the up.
02:35It is funny.
02:35You're right.
02:36There's probably like stages to this.
02:37You know, like the, the really young players think it's the Jags, like the medium, you
02:42know, old players think it's probably the Colts.
02:44And then the, you know, the, maybe the older players think it's the Titans.
02:48Cause there were some, you know, there were some decent Titans teams a few years ago.
02:51Through the history of the AFC South at various times, it could have been the Jaguars or the
02:57Colts.
02:57Yeah.
02:57The Titans that's never felt, even though the Titans have it's, and this is maybe this is
03:03cause of my own personal bias or whatever.
03:04Um, because the Titans back when the, when Vrabel had the Titans really going that way, that
03:10coincided with the Texans were starting to fall off a cliff in the COVID year and whatnot.
03:16Yeah.
03:16Yeah.
03:172019 is the one year where they were recently, where they were both good.
03:20Yeah.
03:212019 was the year that the Texans lost in the playoffs to the chiefs and the chiefs went
03:26on to play the Titans in the AFC title game.
03:28So they were both among the final eight teams standing there.
03:32So Kamari Lasseter, no.
03:33Who is it?
03:33Text him on the, uh, what's the new base power, the base power text line.
03:38Who is the Texans?
03:39Right.
03:39Yeah.
03:39Cause the last time the Titans, the Titans beat the Texans a bunch was when Derrick Henry
03:45was running for all those 200.
03:47Right.
03:47Right.
03:47Yeah.
03:48It was December 29th, 2019 through October 3rd of 2022.
03:53That's when the Texans were losing to everybody all of the time.
03:57Yes.
03:58Largely the kind of back in the early 2010s, it was a little bit more back and forth.
04:04Yeah.
04:04And that was as the Texans were starting to get good again for the first time, um, or
04:09getting good for the first time in their franchise history.
04:11Really?
04:12But other than that, it's either been the Titans whooping up on the Texans or the Texans
04:16whooping up on the Titans.
04:17Yep.
04:18Um, Penny cast people texting in seven, one, three, five, seven, two, four, six, 10, the base
04:22power text line late.
04:23Oh, this is tough.
04:24Laid off after 12 years in the Texas, petty cast laid off after 12 years, gave all of my
04:31clothing with the company logo on it to the homeless around the headquarters in Dallas.
04:36Oh, that's going to be so funny when people are driving in and there were, you know, there
04:42were like Google gear or whatever, you know, like whatever the guy's company was.
04:46That would be, that's what we should do.
04:48You know, my, my, in my big Google doc of business ideas where I have licensed perp walk shawls
04:54where you could put a team logo on a perp walk, you know, the, you brought that up with the
04:58McNairs.
04:58Whenever I bring that up, people ask the understandable question.
05:01What is a perp walk shawl?
05:03Well, it doesn't actually exist, but you know, when people cover up their heads, right.
05:07They're walking into the courthouse or after they've been arrested because they don't want
05:10that image out there, that's so much, there's so much branding potential there.
05:16Yes.
05:16So if you put, it would be fun to do that as a troll to where maybe we would give a bunch
05:22of really nice Jaguars logo perp walk shawls or something to people as they're entering
05:28the courthouse and then we could, uh, we could get video of all of it.
05:31Oh, and then meme the hell out of the Jags.
05:33Yeah.
05:34Yeah.
05:34Cause he's a bunch of criminal.
05:35Yeah.
05:36Well, I mean, really it's the Patriots right now.
05:37We have the most high profile legal concerns.
05:39Two of the best football players, Christian Barmore and Stefan Diggs are still waiting.
05:44They're facing charges for assault.
05:46James Pierce would like a word.
05:48Oh, that's right.
05:49Yeah.
05:50Five felonies, five felonies.
05:52That would have been 15 points in my old fantasy crime league that I used to do on the Houston
05:56press back when crime was really burgeoning with the NFL.
05:59I did a thing where teams would get points based on their players committing crime in the
06:04off season.
06:05One point for a misdemeanor, three points for a felony.
06:07And then when Aaron Hernandez became a thing, I had to add 10 points for murder.
06:12So yeah, that's a James Pierce would have been a 15 pointer.
06:16The number of actual murders has really gone down at least.
06:20Right.
06:20There's a former player that has just got arrested for murder.
06:23Darren Lee.
06:24Yeah.
06:24Yeah.
06:24But he's been out of the league for a couple of years.
06:26Right.
06:26Right.
06:27The jets don't get any points for that.
06:28Yeah.
06:29Jets don't get any points for Darren Lee.
06:31Good job.
06:31NFL players.
06:32Yeah.
06:32Not murdering people as often as you used to, at least during your active career.
06:35Yes.
06:36Good job.
06:36Not killing people that we know of.
06:38Right.
06:39Aaron Hernandez may have murdered a few more people that we don't know about.
06:42Well, the one thing we know about Aaron Hernandez is that he shot a guy in the face at point
06:49blank range, thought he killed him.
06:51And then the guy showed up again in his life several weeks later, calling him on the phone.
06:57Like, Hey man, he's got a call from this guy.
07:00And then the guy, by the way, he had, let's give him a, let's give him a pass on being a
07:05in this sense.
07:06Yeah.
07:06Yeah.
07:06He flipped.
07:08After Aaron Hernandez shot him in the head and left him for dead.
07:11Yeah.
07:11He flipped and cooperated with the, uh, with the police.
07:14I, uh, I give him a pass on that one.
07:16Right, right, right.
07:17That's no violation.
07:18That's a rule I live by.
07:19If somebody shoots me in the head thing, they've murdered me.
07:22Yeah.
07:22I'll cooperate.
07:23You're going to rat him out.
07:24The cops after that.
07:25You're going to rat him out.
07:25It was a little soft.
07:26I'm just saying, uh, pain and Pendergast with you on a, um, on a Tuesday, uh, seven, one,
07:35three, five, seven, two, four, six, 10 people pointing out Jake laser.
07:39Sounds like he's talking to the bartender.
07:40That's, that's why we replayed it and did the visual with you guys.
07:44Um, Jake laser said, screw.
07:46Did he say screw him at the end?
07:48I didn't hear that part.
07:49He say screw him.
07:50Ben, can you pull that up and play the very back once this whole off season?
07:54So screw him.
07:55Oh, he did say screw him.
07:57Yeah.
07:58Boy, how little do you think Aaron Rogers cares about Jake laser getting up in his feelings
08:04about their friendship?
08:05I, yeah, I would, like Jake laser has always struck me as a kind of guy that for one, as
08:11he divulged right there, he calls these guys his friends and yet he's using them for nuggets.
08:17You know, it's a very transactional friendship you have there.
08:22And I'm guessing that Aaron Rogers at some point, this is me standing up for Aaron Rogers to relative
08:27rarity.
08:27I'm guessing at some point, Aaron Rogers realized like, Oh, this guy loves to be my workout buddy
08:34and everything.
08:34But he's also, he's mining for nuggets at some point.
08:38So yeah, I'm not calling you back because we don't have an actual friendship.
08:42Right.
08:42You're just, you're using me to be able to be able to put information to the press.
08:46Yeah.
08:47It's a Aaron Rogers at least saw the relationship for what it was.
08:50Whereas Jake laser, I think he genuinely thinks that's friendship.
08:54Yeah.
08:54We help each other out.
08:55Right.
08:56I, we hang out and then I, I leak information or make reports to the press that Aaron tells
09:02me that it's exactly like falling in love with a prostitute.
09:05Oh my God.
09:06You know?
09:06Yep.
09:07Uh, all right.
09:08So, Oh yeah, I know, you know, and how dare you.
09:18All right.
09:18A pain and Pendergast with you.
09:20All right.
09:20So we're getting somewhat confirmation.
09:23It's gotta be a dicey situation though.
09:25Where sometimes probably prostitutes and their clients do fall in love with each other,
09:28but the, yeah, hello, pretty woman.
09:31There's a whole movie about it to jump over that trust bridge is the John at some point
09:37you got to feel like, wait, am I, am I a total sucker here or am I, uh, yeah, Richard
09:43gear, total sucker, total sucker.
