00:00My name is Winston Duke. I'm here with Essence Magazine's June issue, Style Your Guy.
00:08I'm a little bit of everything. Sometimes a little bit preppy. Sometimes I like being a
00:18lot more urban and comfortable. I'm six foot five and a really good tip for me is always
00:24to stay away from trends but work with what fits my body. I've never bought the expensive
00:31thing just because it had a name. I've always been like, all right, that fits my shoulders
00:36and has a really good color that works with my complexion or something like that. Do I
00:41feel confident in this? And that's why I choose to dress.
00:46Look at your men's personalities and work with what's already there. You like them already.
00:53Try to augment their own personal style. Don't try to turn them into something that you want.
00:59My world's changed in a lot of different ways. For one, I'm a lot more visible now. So I feel
01:07people's eyes on me and I can feel my own presence. I can feel them going, do I know him from somewhere?
01:14Another way is I'm from the Caribbean. I'm from Trinidad and Tobago. And I actually feel
01:20I'm representing a whole community of people. These kids are looking up to me and seeing that
01:26their dreams are possible. I'm really honored by it. I'm really humbled by it. And it feels good.
01:33What have I learned from the black women in my life? That could be a long-winded answer right there.
01:39I would say everything. The women in my life have taught me how to be a strong man through their
01:45examples of what it means to be a strong woman. The black women in my life have challenged me to be
01:50better. They've challenged me to be smarter. That's what I would say I've learned from women in my life.
01:57Almost everything.
02:04Cut it. You need to cut it.
02:05Hey, hey, hey.
