04:57gang y'all look so beautiful so before we discuss the show notori we have to congratulate you
05:02how you feel i'm good i got one more month to go i'm staying strong happy to be here thank you
05:09well you look amazing you're going what was it like shooting while you were pregnant i assume you
05:12were shooting yes well yeah if we count back the month i shot up until i was five months and it
05:18was it was challenging because that's the beginning when you're like yeah but um i actually did okay
05:24and i had i had a good support system i didn't really tell anybody until the end right but um
05:29i did your cast members didn't know either you guys feel like the end until the end
05:35she did a really great job of doing it yeah and costumes did a great job of making it work
05:40so lila let's let's talk about you getting ghost arrested have you had any fans walk up to you on
05:47the street like what is the reaction been since that last season you know uh it's been it's been
05:52interesting sometimes sometimes with hard people like have a hard time separating uh reality but it's
05:59overall people are such wonderful fans of the show and it's you know it's been great it's a terrific
06:04show it's easy to fall in love with it now people have some really interesting theories about the
06:08show what's the craziest theory that you heard about the show the most outlandish i don't know that
06:13tommy and tasha are gonna have an affair oh okay people i mean as far as the characters they get
06:19really into it you know or i don't know i'd say that ghost dies in this seat in prison uh-huh that's
06:26what they are they have so many theories you know it's cool to hear it though it's a testament to how
06:31how dope the writing is you know because when people start making their own assumptions and their
06:36own storylines you know that means they're invested they're really invested they really are invested now
06:40we also have to mention that uh charlie murphy is also in this season did you work with him do you
06:44have any memories of working with him on set no i wasn't able to work with him
06:49i got to work with him very little i remember episode i think it was episode one it was a
06:55courtroom scene i'll just say that but sitting in our chair we talked and he was just super happy
07:02very very good spirit good energy talking about fatherhood he was he was a joy and i'm you know
07:09really sad to see him i think people are going to be excited to see him though because they're going
07:14to see him in a light that they've never seen him yeah exactly and speaking of seeing someone that
07:18we've never seen we're you're getting a lot more springtime this season i don't want to give away
07:21a lot of spoilers but what has that experience been like for you you know it's a blessing because
07:26you know that means courtney and the writing staff believe in me you know they trust my work so
07:31and it's a lot more work and it's and it's cool because the drake character in my life is kind of
07:35art imitates life where as an actor i'm being asked to do a lot more and as drake he's being asked
07:41to now possibly run a club and do all these things so it's cool but i'm surrounded by so many
07:46incredible actresses and actors that i'm learning so much so fast like oh my god it's like a six
07:52month course for me yeah and it's really cool to be a part of that now if you could change anything
07:58about your character yeah this is an open question to anyone here what would you change let's start
08:03with you routine since you're getting a little more a little more shine a little shine yeah the show
08:08will be called dre it'd be called dre oh really okay okay well that was cool that's what you would do
08:14that's what you would do yes and we'd be careful yes one man show one man show and you yeah and you
08:22and what would you do uh what would i do uh to change my character you change your character yeah i
08:28would probably find her a new man which actually interestingly enough tasha has a new love interest
08:34this season oh that's so you got to watch but i think she's just fed up with dealing with ghosts
08:39and his drama and this lady to my so you know we got to move on tasha we got to go forward so i would
08:46i would make sure what would you change oh angela would take over the entire justice department and
08:51rain down on everybody everyone go to jail you go to jail you go to jail all that could happen on dre
08:57right on the show all about dre of course oh my gosh you'll be the first one to write before we wrap
09:04up natari we saw you make up with adrian on uh on the real have you had a chance to talk to keely
09:09after that no i mean we we don't keep in touch i don't i have no idea what uh their thoughts but it
09:16was cool just to get an apology from adrian i accepted it i'm moving forward i'm so happy to be in
09:22this just really positive place in my life so it's been good oh we love that and moving forward

10:21remembers her wildest girls trip this is really funny take a look at this in my 20s my girls
10:26shows were fun and i was really broke so they were always a little bit more adventurous
10:33me and my friend we went to jamaica we had a hundred dollars that's all we had
10:40she took 40 of our hundred dollars and bought some weed and i was like now we have 60 dollars
10:48then she meets some guys and she's like they're taking us out to dinner and she ordered some real
10:52expensive stuff and then they split the bill we have 20 dollars so we met this girl and she's like oh no
11:03i haven't i have all-inclusive and i was like you do okay so then we'll have a drink so then the next
11:08thing we went to the beach we started saying we were her like using her name because like she
11:13wasn't going to be charged right because she's all-inclusive and then they go well where's your
11:17card and then we would be like did you leave the card in the room again and then we wanted to go to
11:22the grill and the bus was ten dollars and we sat on the bus and they were like ladies where are your
11:28tickets and my friend said we gave them to the guy and she said what did the guy look like and she said
11:34jamaican so we gave the man ten dollars we had ten dollars left right before we're leaving she goes
11:42i've got all this weed on me we gotta smoke it now i don't smoke weed
11:49that day i did get to the airport the last ten dollars she wanted to buy some jamaican rum
11:55and i remember waking up in new york the man next to me i was just on his lap my face is just
12:05i think the weed had put me to sleep anyway i wouldn't do that today
12:11now as we all know essence fest is coming but which night will be the best sunday sunday is the
12:21answer sunday night but what's she talking to you though it don't matter i know the answer i buzz in

13:53actress fashionista entrepreneur singer seriously there's nothing this young woman can't do and this
13:59summer she stars in spider-man homecoming please welcome zendaya back to the show zendaya how are
14:06you i'm really good how are you awesome now you said that and your character in spider-man is smart
14:10and a little quirky without giving away any spoilers are there any similarities to you in that character
14:16oh absolutely i think um my character is a bit of a loner and a lot of people don't think that i am
14:20that way but i'm definitely 100 a loner i like to be to myself you know what i mean i like to think my
14:25character is also very outspoken and we know that i like to do that too yeah um but i think you know
14:30she she's a very interesting character very different from anything we've seen especially
14:34in any spider-man movie so yeah it was really fun kind of developing her and creating her now you pay
14:39you play peter parker's friend in the in the movie would you ever want to play a superhero and if so
14:44which one yeah absolutely i mean it's cool now that we're seeing like a new wave of like female
14:49superheroes especially you know you wonder woman and everything like that and also just a new wave of like
14:54powerful strong female roles in general and so of course i want to be a superhero yeah which one
14:59would you be though if you could like wonder woman or like which do you know i mean there's so many
15:04i've learned so much about like just the comic book world in the past year that there's like endless
15:10options yeah um but i don't know i would i don't know what i would like i would know what i want to
15:15do i think we should just make up one because you're just so fabulous i feel like there needs to be a
15:19new zendaya based you know okay so you're turning 21 soon your birthday is when september 1st wow yeah
15:27what big plans do you have for your birthday nothing nothing at all absolutely nothing wow that sounds
15:32like oh you know because everybody especially at this time has like those major like parties and it's
15:37like a big hollywood thing i'm like the opposite of that i'm like honestly i don't know i'll just chill at
15:44home maybe i'll even go on vacation okay maybe maybe i'll do that so while you're sitting on
15:48vacation yeah we're in jamaica right okay we're in jamaica this is your first alcoholic beverage
15:54do you have a drink in mind that you're gonna have or you're real boring right now you're gonna drink
15:58but even when you turn 21 i won't drink you won't drink i just don't have a you know my life is too
16:03stressful as it is i do not want to rely on anything so let me just stay focused i like that i love
16:11that you don't need to drink we promote that for sure and speaking of getting older we've watched
16:15you sort of grow up yeah in front of our eyes and as you mature what kind of woman do you see yourself
16:20becoming well you know i think the most important thing at least for me is um you know it's one
16:26thing to be known for your movies and you know the things that you do as far as this industry goes
16:32and that's amazing but i would much rather be known for the person that i am yeah um and that's
16:36the most important thing to me when people come up to me and the first thing they say
16:39has to do with me as a human being um i think that that is i think something that i'm proud of
16:46um and i and i choose to take on that responsibility of being like a role model or being a you know i
16:51think that that's a gift i think that's a very special thing um that that i've been put in that
16:56place to do and i i just want to you know do it the right way and if you had to choose like three
17:00quick words to describe yourself who you are right now role model powerful like is there anything that
17:06comes to mind or maybe just even one three words one one i mean i don't know i think um
17:11i don't know if there's there's i just i don't know i don't really know what those words are which
17:15is kind of like one of those things i just feel like there's a lot of things yeah that come to my
17:19mind when i think of myself and that's okay it's a lot i'm a lot yes but um but um but i think you
17:25know the number one thing i think everybody should have is just you know belief in their own like self
17:30power you know the power that everyone has it's just whether you choose to see it and harness it or not
17:34yeah you know and who are some of the women that you look up to with celebrity or non who are
17:38well i mean obviously the women in my family are are really important to me whether it be my older
17:42sister or my mother or my little nieces um which i love that are they're actually like they're my
17:48screensaver they are let's see it can we pull it out that is so cute and they're text messages i
17:53see you hanging out with them all the time on instagram that is so cute that's from the vogue oh
17:57that's adorable um yeah but i have a lot of a lot of little nieces and nephews and um they are really
18:04you know empowering to me because i want to do the right thing for them you know so definitely them
18:09um and then as far as like the industry goes i mean of course there's beyonce there's rihanna there's
18:13you know the queens and then um i love oprah yes i'm obsessed with oprah i think she's just like
18:20she's everything yeah yeah and um i mean michelle obama i mean the list goes on and on but yeah and i love
18:27that relationship that you have with your mom and your dad and i know that they've given you
18:30such good advice but is there anything that you've sort of seen on your own as you've gotten older
18:35that you found your own path on like okay they gave me good advice but i think i'm gonna veer this way
18:40well i think something that they didn't literally have to tell me but they showed me um is a couple
18:46things i think just have just being okay with loving yourself i think it's so important i always was
18:51raised that and i wish everybody had this you know to that you're good enough that you can do
18:56everything that anyone else can do regardless of your gender regardless of your race regardless of
19:00anything you are capable yes um um and i would also say another thing that i've learned um i would say
19:08is to like to protect your your your energy you know what i mean like protect what is yours and and
19:14i think that that just means surrounding yourself with the right people being in the right place if
19:18if um if there's things that are negative around you like get rid of it get rid of it right
19:23just move out of that situation you know what i mean it's so important to like protect your energy
19:27and stuff so i mean you know i'm young and i'm still figuring out but those are some things that
19:31i definitely think are important yeah and your parents have been together for so long now we have
19:36to talk about your love life though yes i see the eyes sparkling up what life today i know there's there
19:42you are beautiful you're gorgeous there's got it is is there someone in the mix no no but i i will say that
19:49people have tried okay in the mix multiple people who can we have some names listen i'm not going to
19:54air out their uh dirty laundry but i will say that probably you've seen it on twitter okay these people
20:00are not shy these people are not shy yeah um but no it's it's i mean it's cool or whatever and it's
20:06it's flattering okay i guess but um you know my standards are very high um i'm a very i'm also very
20:13intimidating i've found oh really you're so nice so that's what guys say is that you're intimidating i guess
20:18i guess sometimes it's you know it's hard to approach a young lady with her stuff going on
20:22you know what i'm saying so with her stuff those who those who try i give them major props for it
20:27because i would be i would be scared to approach me as well i know that's right well speaking of
20:31crushes don't be scared guys she's really sweet i am maybe we can help you find a future bae on essence

25:26with emotion he's so excited he wakes up in the middle of the night and rubs my belly
25:32so i keep telling him like i hope you're like this when he's here and he's crying and i'm like uh your
25:37turn bottle well i think i know this i think that um babies when they're really small should sleep on
25:50their backs what i've heard is in research if they sleep on their stomach sometimes they'll suffocate
25:54so i think it should be on their backs oh my goodness what does bpa stand for baby

26:13can you drink a glass of wine while breastfeeding i think you can but i wouldn't do it um i don't
26:26really drink anyway so um i don't intend to drink while breastfeeding i think sometimes women do that
26:30they pump it out i don't know i ain't gonna be drinking while i'm breastfeeding
26:34well my son's gonna be high maintenance so i'm thinking a couple million i hope green poop is
26:57normal because i have a new um nephew and his poop is mostly green so i'm praying he's normal he's not
27:04an alien so yes yeah i just didn't know what bpa was
