00:00I'm Malkon Dovu, and today on Essence Live, psychic medium Zaya is here.
00:07Want her to make a prediction for you?
00:08Send us your questions right now using hashtag Essence Live.
00:12Plus, Slater Shade is back, but right now it's time for the hot list.
00:15The biggest stories you're buzzing about today.
00:21Philando Castile's family has reached a settlement with the city of St. Anthony, Minnesota.
00:26The city is giving the family $3 million after one of its officers shot and killed Castile
00:31after pulling him over for a busted taillight.
00:34But here's what's interesting.
00:35The same city also acquitted the officer who murdered Castile.
00:38And according to the New York Times, this settlement is just the latest in a series of police shootings involving Black people.
00:45The families of Michael Brown, Tamia Rice, also received million-dollar settlements despite the officers being acquitted.
00:52Okay, America, so you won't give these officers any real jail time for murdering Black people,
00:57but you'll give the families some hush money later?
01:00Okay, got it.
01:06Senator Cory Booker and Representative John Lewis held with Summer calling a sit-out to protest the Senate's health care bill.
01:13And Booker streamed the whole thing on Facebook.
01:16He posted a statement to his page, which read in part, quote,
01:19We must fight harder for the American people who will suffer, who will get sicker,
01:23who will lose loved ones if the Senate Republican plan goes through.
01:27Amen, Cory!
01:28And just in case you think the abolishment of Obamacare won't affect you because you work full-time, think again.
01:34The Congressional Budget Office reports that with the new plan,
01:37employers can choose not to cover basics like maternity care or preventative care that Obamacare required.
01:44So you'll end up paying more.
01:46Year 45, how's that plan going better again?
01:54The ladies of Escape looked and sounded amazing Sunday night at the BT Awards,
01:58and we weren't the only ones who were all up in our feelings.
02:01Trine Simone tweeted,
02:02And Echo Does Radio had a letter for the youngin' seeing, saying, quote,
02:12Dear children, once upon a time, Tiny was more famous than T.I.
02:16We were wondering why she was dating him.
02:18Hashtag Escape.
02:20Hashtag BT Awards.
02:21And one more from Fashion Flexin.
02:24Quote, she says,
02:24I'm mad that Escape's performance was so quick.
02:28I wasn't done kickin' it.
02:29Hashtag BT Awards.
02:31Now, you can see Escape do a full performance at Essence Festival,
02:34July 4th in New Orleans.
02:36Tickets are on sale right now.
02:38I hope to see you there.
02:40Chance the Rapper, Solange, will also be performing.
02:42So go get your tickets.
02:44Right?
02:44Yeah?
02:45Well, while we're on the BT Awards,
02:47can we talk about Future and his daughter on the red carpet?
02:50I mean, is her wearing a mask just like her daddy cute?
02:53Or is it a little strange?
02:55Send us your comments right now using the hashtag Essence Live
02:58because we're talking about it in Slade or Shade next.
03:01It's Tuesday, June 27th, and Essence Live starts right now.
03:12Welcome to Essence Live.
03:14I'm your host, Makon Dovoo.
03:15Hey there.
03:16Come talk to us right now using the hashtag Essence Live
03:19or email us at EssenceLive at Essence.com
03:22if you ever want to come up on the show
03:24and sound off on hot topics.
03:26And speaking of sounding off,
03:27it's time for a little Slade or Shade.
03:29Our panelists today are one of the Real Housewives
03:32of Potomac star Giselle Bryant,
03:35media and television personality Ray Holiday,
03:38and Essence.com assistant editor Lauren Porter.
03:41Welcome, everyone.
03:42Hi.
03:43Hey.
03:43How are you?
03:44Good, good, good.
03:45So as I mentioned in today's hot list,
03:46Future Walk BET's red carpet
03:48with his adorable eight-year-old daughter London.
03:51Both of them were rocking crystal face masks,
03:53and some felt the fashion statement
03:54was a nod to his hit song Mask Off,
03:57but others felt it was entirely inappropriate
04:00for his daughter to wear the mask
04:01considering the song's lyrical content.
04:04Panelists, what are your thoughts?
04:06On three, are you slaying or shading?
04:08Here we go.
04:08One, two, three.
04:09Pick up your cards.
04:10Slay, slay, slay.
04:11Oh, unanimous decision.
04:13Okay, Lauren, you go.
04:14Start.
04:14I thought it was absolutely adorable
04:16that Future brought his daughter with him
04:17to the BET Awards,
04:18and they walked the carpet together.
04:20We don't often see Future as a father.
04:22You know, he's all about the Molly and the Percocet,
04:25which is fun.
04:26Right.
04:27But it's also great to see him
04:28about his kids, his daughter.
04:30It was a very sweet moment.
04:31She looked adorable.
04:32He looked great.
04:33Mask and everything.
04:34I loved it.
04:35Ray?
04:35You know, I think we got to fight the right battle.
04:40Okay.
04:40I think mask off what it means,
04:42what it represents,
04:43as far as the chorus is concerned.
04:45We're not going to get into the lyrical content.
04:46But I thought it was, like, it was a cute moment.
04:48Okay.
04:49I also think that when Brad and Angelina
04:51were flaunting black babies as props,
04:53we didn't really go after them.
04:55Not black babies as props, though.
04:56Okay.
04:57So pick the right battle, Jezelle.
04:59I mean, I'm all about the marketing and the promotion,
05:02and sometimes you got to use your kids to do it.
05:04Amen.
05:04Now, she might need therapy
05:05for having to wear, like, a muzzle on her face
05:07at some point in time in her life.
05:09However, I'm down with the marketing.
05:11Get your coins.
05:12So you have no problem at all
05:14with the song's lyrical content.
05:15That wasn't a factor for you.
05:17Not really the point.
05:17Not really the point.
05:18Okay.
05:19So skipped everyone.
05:20Yes.
05:20Beautiful red carpet moment.
05:22Yes.
05:22Yes.
05:23Unanimous decision here.
05:25Let's check in with Kayla
05:26over in the social media hotspot.
05:28What are people saying
05:29about Future's daddy-daughter fashion moment?
05:31Kayla?
05:32Pretty mixed.
05:33I mean, for the most part,
05:34people are shading it, if you can believe it.
05:36They're not feeling it.
05:37So naturally, beautiful says shade.
05:40Shalafide says the mask wasn't needed,
05:42and the comments are rolling in,
05:43but they're not looking good.
05:44Oh.
05:45That's so interesting that on Facebook,
05:47they're totally shading it.
05:48And my panelists in the studio are loving it.
05:51Okay.
05:52Let's see if we can get another unanimous decision here.
05:54Moving on to the next story.
05:55New Jersey professor Lisa Durden has been fired
05:58after she appeared on Fox News' Tucker Coulson tonight
06:01to defend a blacks-only event
06:03hosted by Black Lives Matter.
06:05Watch what happened when she was asked
06:07why the event wasn't inclusive of all races.
06:10What I say to that is boo-hoo-hoo.
06:14You white people are angry
06:16because you couldn't use your white privilege card
06:19to get invited to the Black Lives Matters
06:21all-black Memorial Day celebration.
06:24Wow.
06:25Wow.
06:26Wow.
06:27Now, the school's president defends the decision
06:30to fire Durden, saying, quote,
06:32racism cannot be fought with more racism.
06:36All right, panelists,
06:37do we shade the college for terminating Lisa,
06:39or should Lisa get a slay for being unapologetic?
06:42In one, two, three, go.
06:45Shade, shade, shade.
06:46All right, I'll start with you, Giselle.
06:48So, the college was wrong for firing her.
06:50She only said how we feel.
06:52She had the courage enough to say it,
06:54and I'm not mad at her.
06:55And I thought we had, like, a Fifth Amendment
06:57or one kind of amendment that you can free speech.
06:59Freedom of speech, right, right.
07:00Yes, yeah.
07:00So, why would the school fire her
07:02for her just saying what the school probably feels in T-Way?
07:05Mm, valid, Ray.
07:06I agree.
07:07I think Lisa absolutely slayed this entire situation.
07:10I think we have such a double standard
07:12when it comes to what people can say
07:15and what that amendment really means.
07:18We have a white president who says whatever he wants to say,
07:21whatever he wants to say,
07:22he got Mexicans he's putting...
07:23He's gaining their communities.
07:24He's doing all sorts of foolishness.
07:27And he's still the president of the United States.
07:29And this young lady,
07:31who literally said nothing that wasn't true
07:33and nothing that wasn't beastly offensive,
07:36is now fired for her opinion.
07:38It's whack.
07:39It's whack.
07:40Very whack.
07:40All right.
07:41I definitely think that the school was in the wrong.
07:44They often want to play the card of, like,
07:47we're inclusive
07:48and we want everybody to voice their opinions,
07:50but when their feelings get hurt,
07:51then it's an issue.
07:52And because she ruffled some feathers
07:54by saying exactly what she should have said,
07:57she said nothing that was wrong.
07:58They got offended.
08:00They were hurt.
08:01And so she got fired.
08:02And that was very unjust.
08:04And so if the school had a whites-only event,
08:06that would be inappropriate, right?
08:07So you can have a blacks-only event,
08:08but you can't have a whites-only event.
08:10That's called life.
08:10That's called life.
08:11Yeah, okay.
08:12That's like a thing.
08:13Okay?
08:14That's how we live.
08:15We just trying to get our brownies.
08:15That's Tuesday.
08:16I know.
08:17You got it, Kayla.
08:18That's a Starbucks, honey.
08:19That's Starbucks.
08:20That's every day.
08:20My train car was right in the room.
08:22I was here.
08:22That's my cello.
08:23I ain't mad.
08:24That's what it is.
08:25All right.
08:26Thank you so much, Kayla.
08:26What are folks saying on social about this issue?
08:29Well, regarding the professor defending BLM,
08:31Danae Taylor says,
08:32I agree with Giselle.
08:34So Naturally Beautiful says,
08:35oh, my.
08:36And Eleanor Piper says she slayed it with the truth.
08:40Yes.
08:41Truth hurts sometimes.
08:42We're all bored.
08:43Truth hurts sometimes.
08:43All right.
08:44Let's move on to the next story.
08:45Now, our next story is about our girl and mommy-to-be,
08:48Serena Williams.
08:50Now, in a recent interview,
08:51the former tennis champion, John McEnroe,
08:54said that if Serena played on the men's circuit,
08:56she'd be, quote, like number 700 in the world.
09:00He continued,
09:00that doesn't mean I don't think Serena is an incredible player.
09:03I do.
09:04But the reality of what would happen on any given day
09:06is Serena could beat some players, I believe,
09:09because she is so incredibly strong mentally.
09:11Serena has since responded with a tweet that read,
09:14in part, quote,
09:15Dear John, I adore and respect you,
09:17but please keep me out of your statements
09:20that are not factually based.
09:22Now, it may seem like a pretty obvious choice
09:24of who to slay and who to shave,
09:26but let's play devil's advocate.
09:27Does John McEnroe have a point?
09:29Are male and female athletes separated for a reason?
09:32Panelists, what are your thoughts?
09:33Slay or Shade?
09:34Here we go.
09:35One, two, three.
09:36Shade, Shade, Shade, Shade.
09:37Ray, we're gonna start with you.
09:39Yes.
09:40John, so the name of John's memoir is Butt Seriously.
09:44You should take the butt out and put John.
09:45John, seriously?
09:47I mean, not number 700.
09:49You cannot defame what she's done.
09:52Her reputation speaks for itself.
09:54Her resume speaks for itself.
09:55And number 700 is such a joke just in itself
10:00based on the hard work that she literally has been slaying.
10:04Her and her sister have been slaying for years.
10:07And for him to put her in that tiny box and say,
10:10well, she's not a man and men do it better anyway,
10:13it was just totally sexist and a bit racist, if you ask me.
10:18Because if she was a white woman, would he feel the same way?
10:20Good point.
10:21Lauren, chime in.
10:22I think that he was absolutely incorrect.
10:25I mean, Serena has accomplished more in her life
10:27than many of us could even fathom as an athlete or otherwise.
10:32The fact that she won her 23rd Grand Slam while pregnant
10:35shuts down his whole argument.
10:38You can't point to me, an athlete anywhere, who can do that,
10:41especially not a man, for obvious reasons.
10:44But Serena is a world-dominating athlete.
10:48Man, woman, black, white.
10:50She is a phenom, number one in the world for a reason.
10:53John tried it.
10:54Giselle, I'll let you have the last word here.
10:56Serena's booty is a better athlete than John could ever be.
11:00Okay.
11:01I mean, she's going to drop the baby and then slam another Grand Slam.
11:07And he's mad.
11:08He's hating.
11:08Why are you hating?
11:09Right.
11:10I mean, I don't want to call you a racist, John, but I mean...
11:13Sounds racist-ish.
11:14It sounds racist-ish.
11:15That was good.
11:16Okay.
11:16All right.
11:17Kayla, what's happening in social?
11:19Are people dragging John McEnroe?
11:21They sure are.
11:22And I'm here to watch with the popcorn.
11:24All right, so Danae Taylor says,
11:26John McEnroe sounds mad to me.
11:27He needs to put some respect on Serena's name.
11:29Yes.
11:30Stacey Miller says,
11:31She's not a man, so why does she need to be rated like one?
11:33He's an all-around hater.
11:34Right.
11:35Evelyn Houston is really not here for her.
11:36She said,
11:37McEnroe is an ass who is trying to sell his book by generating controversy about Serena.
11:41There we go.
11:41Just go back to the hole he climbed out of.
11:43Come on.
11:43Ooh.
11:43Ooh.
11:44Ooh.
11:45Ooh.
11:45Ooh.
11:46Bloop.
11:47Panelists, thank you all for joining us.
11:49Of course.
11:49Really appreciate it.
11:50Now, coming up, we have psychic medium Zaya is here,
11:53and she's ready to do live readings.
11:55And she says she can predict what's going to happen in your love life or career
11:58and connect you with your deceased loved ones.
12:01So, if you have a question for her, send them right now using the hashtag Essence Live.
12:05But right now, here's our fashion and beauty director, Julie Wilson,
12:09with a few dope things on her desk.
12:11So, we're all on a quest to be centered.
12:25Well, these incredible bombs are aromatherapy.
12:29They're these stick bombs that you put on your pulse points and you sniff throughout the day
12:34to invoke different states of mind.
12:36I'm really into this one called love.
12:38There's also ones for happiness, focus, stress less, sleep well, and escape.
12:43So, something for everyone.
12:45I don't know about you, but my phone dies all the time, which is why I'm loving Nifty.
12:50It is the most powerful portable charger on the market.
12:54One charge of the pack will recharge your phone four full times.
12:58The design is super slim and sexy.
13:01It'll fit into your purse really easily, even into your back pocket.
13:04I'm also loving the fact that the wire is teeny tiny,
13:08which means it won't get tangled up in anything.
13:10I take it with me everywhere.
13:12Let's face it.
13:13Sometimes we don't wear sunscreen because it makes us look ashy.
13:16Well, there's no more excuses for not wearing SPF.
13:19This new product from Glossier is totally awesome.
13:24Glossier has come up with an invisible shield.
13:25It goes on clear, completely absorbs into your skin like you never had anything on it.
13:31Must, must have for summer.
13:33So, that's it, but you know there's always more.
13:36Check back next week for Dope Stuff on My Desk.
13:44Hey, what's happening?
13:45Charlamagne Tha God here, 1 third of the world's most dangerous morning show,
13:48The Breakfast Club, and right now you're watching Essence Live.
13:51Don't you piss these black women off.
13:53You don't want those problems.
13:55You're watching Essence Live.
13:58I'm your host, Makon Llovu, and joining us now is a woman who says she can see into your future,
14:04literally, as she started her career in fashion before discovering her gift as a psychic medium.
14:09Please welcome Ziya to Essence Live.
14:11Hi, Ziya.
14:12Hi, thank you.
14:13How are you?
14:14I'm good.
14:14Good to see you.
14:15Okay, so now let's get right into it.
14:17Explain to us what a medium is.
14:19Okay, excellent.
14:20So, a medium and a psychic are slightly different.
14:22So, a psychic can see like the past, the present, and the future, and mediums actually speak
14:27to the deceased.
14:28Okay, so whether it's your dead pet, your dead brother, or your dead mom, that's what a medium
14:32does.
14:33So, not all psychics are mediums, but all mediums are psychic, because you have to use
14:37other senses.
14:38Your clair is clairaudience, which means you can hear.
14:41Clairvoyance means you can see.
14:43Clair sentience, what you feel.
14:45So, we have to use all of those gifts in order to translate and channel messages from the
14:49other side.
14:49Oh, my gosh.
14:50Yeah.
14:50It sounds incredible.
14:52Let's talk about your journey, though.
14:53So, you started out as a fashion writer.
14:55Right.
14:55And now we're here.
14:56How did that all happen?
14:58Yeah.
14:58So, yeah, I graduated from FIT back in 2001, a long time ago.
15:02And I started doing events for myself.
15:05I created the concept of a shopping party.
15:07My first event was The Closet.
15:08And then I started having a web TV series called The Endless, where I interviewed a ton of celebrities
15:13around fashion and beauty.
15:15And then from there, I kind of just got bored with everything.
15:18And then I decided to go overseas.
15:22Oh, wow.
15:22And prior to that, just as I decided to leave, my grandmother and my best friend had passed.
15:27And I always had, like, a few gifts, but I never really understood what was happening
15:31to me.
15:31And when they passed, I just started being able to speak with both of them, both my grandmother
15:35and my friend.
15:36And it just got to the point where I was just, like, overwhelmed.
15:40And then I had a celebrity ghost contact me.
15:42Wow.
15:43Who was trying to get in touch with his daughter.
15:44It was actually Michael Jackson.
15:46Really?
15:46And it was, this was, like, the summer of 2013.
15:48And as you can imagine, it was insane.
15:50And then I then went and got, like, six weeks training with a woman named Beth Lane.
15:55Okay.
15:56And she was like, okay, you can go out and be a psychic medium.
15:58And I was like, no, I'm going to go to Vietnam.
16:00I don't want anyone to know I can actually do this.
16:02Bye-bye.
16:03And basically, I was in Thailand.
16:05I just ended up staying in Asia for the past three years, in London for a bit, studying.
16:08And I had a freelance job, a fashion freelance remote job, writing.
16:13And it went away August of 2015.
16:15And so I had a few people already calling me for readings.
16:18And then I needed to eat.
16:19Yeah.
16:20So you were like, I have to get into it.
16:21I had to get into it.
16:22Yeah.
16:22And so I was just sort of forced to do that.
16:25Life sort of led you towards it.
16:26Yeah.
16:26But what do you say to people, I mean, I'm listening to you now, and I'm listening to
16:30you say Michael Jackson's ghost attempted to, or did get in touch with you.
16:35Yes, he did.
16:35What do you say to people that are skeptics and don't necessarily believe or buy into the
16:40medium?
16:40Into the medium psyche.
16:42You know, I'm not here to make someone a believer.
16:45You know, I make sure that my guides send me the proper clients.
16:49I had a woman recently, she was getting in contact with her husband.
16:52And he actually showed me that she had a gas leak.
16:55And I said to her, you have a gas leak, please check it out.
16:57She emailed me and maybe 10 days later, she says, oh my God, you guys saved my life.
17:01I actually had a deadly gas leak that was, you know, undetectable, but she was starting
17:05to have fainting spells and headaches.
17:07And so I know this is real, you know, and it's not just the medium work.
17:10It's also the psychic work.
17:11When I look at someone and find out what's holding onto their heart, what are the things
17:15that are keeping them blocked and not able to move forward?
17:17When I can see the past life and the karmic attachments that they have, I know this is real.
17:22Right, right.
17:23Some people will never believe and that's okay.
17:24And you're not here to change their mind?
17:25I'm not here to change their mind, absolutely not.
17:27How does religion fit into this, right?
17:30That's the million dollar question.
17:31Yeah, yeah, that's the million dollar question.
17:32How does, yeah, how does it fit into this?
17:34I'm not a religious person.
17:35I mean, I remember being six years old and I was down south in Georgia at my grandmother's
17:40church.
17:40And I think I asked the pastor like where God or Jesus came from and he couldn't really
17:44answer and I was like, all right, I'm done with this.
17:46And I think that was really lucky because when people have their own gifts and we're all psychic,
17:50yeah, but people have to go through religion a lot.
17:54And, you know, and religion a lot of times tells them that people like me aren't necessarily
17:58good.
17:59And the interesting is most of your spiritual leaders are using these same gifts, but they
18:03don't necessarily want their flock to know it.
18:06Okay.
18:06I won't touch that.
18:07Right.
18:08I will say there's nothing wrong with mixing it, you know.
18:10Okay.
18:11So the two can coexist?
18:13For some people, yeah.
18:14Yeah.
18:14Wow.
18:14Yeah, I believe in God, but I also know that we are God, right?
18:17And the God in us and the goddess in us.
18:19Zaya, okay.
18:20This is going to be really juicy.
18:22I'm so excited.
18:22Okay.
18:23We're going to do a quick break, but when we come back, we want to put you to the test
18:26to do some readings live on Essence Live.
18:28Are you down?
18:29Yeah.
18:29Let's do it.
18:30All right.
18:30If you want a live reading with Zaya, send us your questions right now using the hashtag
18:34Essence Live.
18:35But first, our editors discuss SZA's new buzzworthy album, Control.
18:40So good.
18:40So good.
18:44We need to talk about SZA's new album.
18:49I guess I say Control, but I guess it would be just, you would just say the letters.
18:54But that's boring, so we're going to call it Control.
18:56Yeah.
18:56Oh, it's so good.
19:00It is, first of all, we've waited so long.
19:03So long.
19:04I thought I was going to be an old lady.
19:05I thought I was going to be dead.
19:06Literally unable to hear by the time this album came out.
19:09And it was well worth the wait.
19:11Thank you, SZA, for this.
19:12She took her time.
19:13She grew up since her last project dropped.
19:17Yes.
19:17She created a whole new, a whole new person for herself.
19:21World, really, yeah.
19:22She's like a brand new persona of SZA that's like older and wiser and been through some stuff
19:27and like...
19:28Oh, she's, this album, you can tell she has been through something.
19:31But we've like all been through something and I think that's why we all love it because
19:33it's so relatable.
19:34Absolutely.
19:35Who do you think she's talking about in this album?
19:37Oh, that is not a good question.
19:39She's got to be talking, whoever it was, like, you f***ed up, bud.
19:44You really messed up.
19:46You, okay, well, she did mention in an interview on The Breakfast Club that like she was talking,
19:51Go Gina is specifically about someone in her past.
19:53Okay.
19:53Who when she was heavier, like, he just loved her for her and she really appreciated that.
19:57But how if she had just stepped outside of herself, she would have had a lot more fun
20:01during that period in her life.
20:03Like Gina and Martin, had she not been so, like, buttoned up and corporate, like, and
20:07stepped outside and been sort of like Pam, like, she would have enjoyed life better.
20:11And I appreciated that.
20:12Yeah.
20:12I didn't know that.
20:13That's so...
20:14Yeah, it gave me a better perspective of the song because that is one of my least favorite
20:17songs on the album.
20:18Wow.
20:19I don't skip it.
20:20Anyway.
20:21Okay.
20:22That's one of my favorite songs.
20:23So I'm glad to know that backstory.
20:24Oh, can we talk about her mom?
20:25Yeah.
20:27Being on these interludes, it's the cutest thing.
20:29Her mom be out here dropping gems like, listen, Solana, don't let these men play you.
20:35It just makes you feel like, like, your mom is there giving you advice.
20:40Absolutely.
20:41I felt like I was talking to one of my aunties and she was just, like, spilling me the real
20:44after some real life stuff that she's been through.
20:47And I was just like...
20:49Seriously.
20:49I want it all.
20:50Just tell me what I need to avoid.
20:52Ladies, if you're having love troubles, just talk to your mom, like...
20:55Or just listen to SZA's album and listen to her mom.
20:58Listen to somebody's mom because they've got wisdom most of the time.
21:02Pick your moms carefully.
21:08You're watching Essence Live.
21:09I'm your host, Makon Yovu, and I'm joined today by Ziya, who went from working in the fashion biz
21:14to connecting with the ancestors as a psychic medium.
21:18And she's even had some celebrity clients.
21:20Here's a story from Miss Jessie's founder, Miko Branch, explaining how Ziya helped her.
21:25Quote,
21:25Ziya shared that she had a message for me from my late sister, Titi.
21:30I paused.
21:31Typically, I have a discerning nature, but somehow something told me that I should trust Ziya.
21:36I believe that she was, in fact, connected to my sister, and so I allow Ziya to act as a vessel.
21:43Wow.
21:44That really sounds intense.
21:45So what was that experience like?
21:46And can you share what message Titi had for Miko?
21:49It was an amazing experience.
21:51You know, they had been my hairdressers in the past, but I had only been to them like
21:56four or five times.
21:57And at this time, I was in Vietnam.
21:59I had heard about Titi's passing, and I was just grieving like crazy.
22:02And she came to me, and she's like, oh, can you get in touch with my sister?
22:05And I said, okay, sure.
22:06So I literally emailed her, and I'm like, Miko, I don't even know if you remember me,
22:10but I have a message here from Titi.
22:12Wow.
22:12And in that moment, I actually spoke to Miko, her son, and her parents.
22:18And the message that Titi wanted to convey was that she,
22:21you know, this was the choice that she made, that she was okay.
22:25But she also did want to have her sister sort of spread the message about mental illness
22:29and how we as a community need to, you know, accept that people will have certain challenges,
22:36and it's okay.
22:37It doesn't matter how beautiful you are, how rich you are, et cetera.
22:40She had some personal messages for her nephew.
22:42Her nephew had given her some flowers, a yellow flower he had put in her hair
22:46when she was in the casket, and it made her feel amazing.
22:49And he said, oh, my God, when I did it, she looked as though she smiled,
22:52and I said, yes, she knew that.
22:54Oh, my gosh.
22:55You know, I'm sure it gives a lot of closure.
22:57So much closure.
22:59All right, so we're ready for you to do some live readings right now,
23:01and your first reading will be with me, Ziya.
23:04Okay, great.
23:05Even better.
23:05Okay, so now it's time for you to read me.
23:07All right.
23:07So the first question that I want to ask is, what sort of energy are you getting from me right now?
23:12Oh, you're very sophisticated.
23:13You're very well put together.
23:14You're going to go quite far in your career.
23:16Oh, thank you.
23:16Quite far in your career.
23:18Just stay focused.
23:19I think for you it's going to be key over these next few years not to tell too many people of your plans.
23:23Okay, find a few people that you trust to guide you, and that's it.
23:27I feel as you continue to rise, there will be some people that you will have to let go.
23:31Let go, okay.
23:31Some people you will have to let go.
23:33I'm feeling a romantic energy from you right now.
23:37Do you want me to say anything, or should I?
23:38No, no, no.
23:39Let me just see what I can pull.
23:40I feel like you're dating, yes?
23:42You are dating someone.
23:43I'm married.
23:43You're actually married.
23:48Do you want children soon?
23:50Soon, yeah.
23:50Okay.
23:51You might have a child in the next 18 months.
23:53Next 18 months?
23:54Well, don't tell my employers that.
23:55Okay.
23:55You might have a child in the next 18 months.
23:58Okay.
23:59I do think that your husband is supportive of what you do,
24:01but you guys need to communicate more, especially as your time gets busier.
24:04It's going to be very important that you plan a family, you know?
24:07Okay.
24:07Plan that family so that you can understand who you are before and after the child,
24:11because it'll be a little bit challenging for you.
24:13Accept the help from relatives, you know, even if they may get on your nerves a bit,
24:16because when you do, you're going to need them for those first few months.
24:19But I see you doing very well, and I see you doing really well in L.A., by the way.
24:23I love L.A.
24:25Okay.
24:25That was really good.
24:26I have goosebumps.
24:27Is there anyone from my past, perhaps, like, deceased loved ones that is speaking to you right now?
24:34So many people here in the room.
24:36So I'm going to say a name, but it could be for anyone here in the room.
24:40There's a woman named Sylvia coming up.
24:42Do you know a Sylvia?
24:43No, I don't know a Sylvia.
24:45She feels like an aunt on the mother's side.
24:47She might be a great aunt.
24:49Okay.
24:49She might be for her.
24:54I'm not sure.
24:55Oh, it's for someone off camera.
24:56It could be someone off camera.
24:57Okay.
24:57Yeah, because we got, like, you know, so many people here.
24:59So many people here.
24:59Okay, wow.
25:00That's crazy how that works, though, that the energy just sort of comes and it swarms at you.
25:04Yeah.
25:04All right.
25:05All right.
25:05Thank you for that.
25:06Now, let's do some readings for our viewers.
25:10Okay.
25:10Now, you say you can do readings over Facebook.
25:11Yes.
25:12Now, how does that work?
25:13Well, energy goes through everything.
25:15It doesn't really matter.
25:16I do most of my readings via phone and Skype.
25:18I was mostly overseas when I was doing it.
25:19Most of my clients were back in the U.S.
25:21I don't need a lot.
25:22I just, I don't really need a lot.
25:24It's really, I'm getting the information from their auric field as well as my guides.
25:28So, I'm being fed a lot of information.
25:30Oh, my gosh.
25:30So, I don't need a lot.
25:32You don't need a lot.
25:32I don't need a lot.
25:33And I will ask questions.
25:34And, like, you know, I felt a romantic energy.
25:35I didn't feel the marriage.
25:36So, you know, sometimes it's not always 100%.
25:40It's never 100% clear.
25:41It's not a perfect science.
25:42I don't know really what is.
25:43Well, Kayla's been manning the comments.
25:44Okay.
25:45So, we have some good comments, right, Kayla?
25:47What do we?
25:47We have a few.
25:48Yeah, we got a few.
25:48Okay.
25:49So, let's dive in.
25:50Okay.
25:50Well, okay.
25:51People are coming in.
25:51Oh, okay.
25:52Now, this one, your lady, is moving so fast.
25:54Let's see.
25:55Okay.
25:56How do we stop it?
25:57Any way to, like, just pause on one of them?
25:58Kayla's got it.
26:00So interesting.
26:01Technology and psychic readings.
26:05Okay.
26:05Rochelle has a, this is an easy one.
26:07I'll kind of.
26:08Okay.
26:08Rochelle says,
26:09Hello, Ziya.
26:10I would like to move back to Cali.
26:12Is that coming up soon?
26:13Where am I looking here?
26:14Mm-hmm.
26:15Yeah.
26:15Hi, Rochelle.
26:17Moving back to Cali.
26:19I've got two years to move back to Cali,
26:22but there's seems to be some things you need to take care of
26:24financially where you are.
26:25You may want to consider moving up a little bit more in your career,
26:28and then once you get to the title that you want,
26:31and you have a little bit of seasoning underneath your belt,
26:33then that would be a good time for you to move back to California.
26:35Also, understand that you're still adapting to where you are now,
26:38so give yourself time to, you know, adapt to where you are
26:40and enjoy the moment, okay?
26:42Wow.
26:42That was for Rochelle.
26:44Rochelle's moving back to Cali.
26:46Okay.
26:47And maybe in two years.
26:48Two years.
26:49Okay.
26:50This other person's name is Michelle.
26:52Heaven sent with me.
26:53Love, Thomas.
26:54Okay.
26:54Okay.
26:55Essence,
26:55will my marriage take place next year as in May,
26:58as planned, or sooner?
27:01Does Michelle have a boot?
27:02Okay, you'll tell us.
27:03Is there a partner in the works?
27:05I got, yes.
27:06Okay.
27:09Michelle, I have to be honest.
27:14I think you need to really make sure that you want to be married
27:18and really go over what you really want out of your life.
27:21I'm not, I'm not sure if it will take place next May or sooner.
27:25I think you need to reconsider a lot of things
27:29and be very clear as to why you two are getting married
27:32and be very clear on what you want for your life to look like as a marriage, okay?
27:36Get really clear on that.
27:37Because I'm seeing that there's a lot of question marks
27:39and some red flags that you may want to wait a while
27:41before you walk down that aisle.
27:43Wow.
27:44That's what I'm getting.
27:45I hate delivering news like that.
27:46Okay, let's get a couple.
27:46I know, that's so hard, right?
27:48Yeah, it's very hard.
27:48It's horrible.
27:49But you have to tell the truth.
27:49I have, well, yes.
27:50And again, you know, okay.
27:52Let's just try to get one more of that.
27:53Okay, where's Dremler?
27:55Dremler had a really good one.
27:57Okay.
27:58This is for Dremler.
27:59Yes.
28:00Okay, Dremler says,
28:01I'm in a funk where I feel like I'm in a hole in my career
28:04and this stems back to some jealous friends.
28:06Ooh.
28:07I had that I got rid of
28:09but still feel like they still have an eye on my successes.
28:11How can I pull myself out?
28:13Okay, so Dremler, what I'm getting from you
28:15is that you have to let go of the past,
28:17meaning that you still have this one image of yourself
28:20and you haven't moved forward as to who you are today.
28:22Do not worry about people looking at you
28:25or whatever they do.
28:26They have no impact on your career.
28:28One of the things that you can get,
28:29you can get some black tourmaline or black obsidian.
28:33Those are two healing crystals that protect you
28:35from psychic attacks, psychic negative energy,
28:38as well as anybody that's kind of coming in
28:40and trying to bring you down.
28:41Also, take some time to step away from social media.
28:44Take some time to just get into yourself
28:46and understand who you are
28:48and get back to your core as to what you're searching for.
28:50That's why you're in the funk
28:51because you haven't taken the time to do some soul searching.
28:54So that's what I'm getting for Dremler.
28:56Okay, can we get one more?
28:58Yes.
28:58You know what?
28:59This is really just good life advice generally.
29:01Don't get married until you're ready.
29:03Do some soul searching.
29:04Let's see what else you got.
29:05Okay.
29:05This is...
29:06I'm soaking it up.
29:07I mean, that's the thing.
29:08You know, a lot of times...
29:09Okay.
29:10Oh.
29:11Okay, there's one woman.
29:13Okay.
29:14Melinda R. Thornton.
29:15Let's see.
29:15Do we have another one?
29:16Yep.
29:16Okay.
29:17Facebook.
29:18Okay.
29:21It's incredible.
29:23Crazy, right?
29:24It is really crazy.
29:25Okay.
29:26Andrea Vital Broussard.
29:28How is my financial future looking?
29:29Okay.
29:29Andrea Vital Broussard says, how does my financial future look?
29:37What I'm getting for you, Andrea, is that it looks good, but you need to, for these next
29:44six to 18 months, you need to be very conservative in your spending.
29:47Very conservative in your spending.
29:48If you start to get a raise or you start to make more money, because I feel like you
29:51may have a side hustle or be an entrepreneur, act like you never got that extra money.
29:56Okay?
29:57Save it, pay off a few bills, but that's what you need to do, and really plan for the next
30:01three to five years financially.
30:02I do get that there's going to be a big bump coming up in the next six months, but if you
30:07spend it too high or you don't plan properly, you'll find yourself back in the same hole.
30:11In the same fund.
30:12Yeah.
30:12Yeah.
30:13Really good advice, Zaya.
30:14Thank you so much.
30:16Zaya, thank you so much for stopping through.
