00:00Let's start off with our top story of the day and we deal with prediction markets as we seemingly
00:05are always at the top of the show too. Coalition for prediction markets, that includes Kalshi,
00:09Coin.
00:10Base, Robin Hood took out a full page ad in the Washington Post. Why did they do it?
00:15They're making the effort to advocate for a regulated prediction market.
00:20Association with an ad in the Washington Post, it lays out the differences between prediction markets
00:24that are.
00:25Registered with the CFTC and unreal unregulated platforms as well.
00:30Naturally, it's a state by state situation where some states feel they can operate and some don't.
00:35Trying to form a coalition will, I guess, make them feel a lot better about their situation.
00:40Meaning that they're working together to legalize this in some way.
00:42But needless to say, states don't want their money.
00:45They still want their taxes and they still want them to be regulated by the gaming associations
00:48as well.
00:49But they claim they're not gay.
00:50The gaming, very complicated if you're not familiar with Kalshi, Robin Hood, or any of
00:54our other shows that we discussed.
00:55We do it every day here on the show.
00:56I would encourage you to watch as often as possible to learn.
01:00More about that in the future.
01:01Virginia House of Delegates, meanwhile, overwhelmingly voted on a bill.
01:05To ensure that folks are not just dropping their credit cards online.
01:10And maxing out their cards to bet on sports.
01:13That makes sense at a floor session on-
01:15On Wednesday delegates approved a house bill by a vote of 94 to 3.
01:20It will now be sent to the Senate and they're looking to follow other states like Iowa.
01:25Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont, and Illinois rejecting and restricting-
01:30Credit card use for gambling in the future.
01:33So essentially those of you-
01:35Who want to just drop 10,000 on your credit card and you have these big credit card bills.
01:40And obviously with gambling you don't know if you're going to win or you're going to lose.
01:42Trying to eliminate that from the conversation.
01:44I like it.
01:45Pro Football Hall of Fame has released a statement regarding Bill Belichick's non-voting-
01:50related to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
01:52The statement says if it is determined voting members violated-
01:55The selection process bylaws and action will be taken including removal-
02:00As a member of the selection committee, I do see this morning that we're-
02:05Starting to percolate with some folks who were admitting they did not vote for Belichick,
02:09which by the way-
02:10Nothing wrong with that if that's their opinion.
02:12I have a feeling a lot more will be said on this before the Super Bowl next week.
02:15Especially when they make this announcement coming up.
02:17I believe it is next Friday or Saturday night.
02:19Drake may live-
02:20Limited in practice ahead of the Super Bowl, but no issue there.
02:23Also, Bo Nix says his ankle injury-
02:25Is not a concern.
02:26He'll be back in four to six weeks.
02:28Sean Payton said at his press-
02:30Conference, there was some pre-existing injury to Bo Nix and it was inevitable this was going
02:34to happen.
02:35Nix has pushed back on-
02:35I don't know if we have a battle with Nix and Payton at this point.
02:38I guess wait to see.
02:39All right, Cavs beat the-
02:40The Lakers very easily last night in what could be LeBron's farewell to Cleveland.
02:45129 to 99, Cleveland takes care of LA.
02:48They were three and a half point favorites.
02:50Donovan Mitchell had 25 points.
02:51Cavs are one of the hottest teams in the NBA.
02:53They've won five straight games, but the story-
02:55Of course, was LeBron who looked up at the Raptors and saw all of the things that-
03:00That of course meant a lot to him including championships and seeing some of his old buddies
03:04there.
03:05Seeming-
03:05Seemingly kind of pointing toward the last ride for LeBron in Cleveland.
03:10Take a listen.
03:11Well, I mean, obviously, I mean, I'm in my teammate who I won the championship with.
03:15You know, did the knife, took the knife out.
03:18You know, RJ took the knife out.
03:20That sort of thing.
03:21I mean, obviously, the moment they put up there with their, you know, the Detroit-
03:25game.
03:26You know, looking up in the rafters, you know, seeing our championship banner.
03:30So-
03:30Yeah, of course.
03:31It was a lot of reflecting for sure.
03:32Is that like a tradition?
03:33They're doing it now here.
03:34They pulled a knife out.
03:35Okay.
03:35Okay, cool.
03:36You know, I looked at some of our assistants-
03:40coaches on the bench and I was like, it's crazy that I'm watching-
03:45my teammate that I won a championship from 10 years ago and now he's an analyst and-
03:50I'm still playing.
03:51And it is super, super-
03:55crazy to think about that, but a lot of us are still on a group chat.
04:00My-
04:00myself, Channing, RJ, Tristan, K-Love, and-
04:05we got some plans for our 10-year reunion that will be following-
04:10finalized after the season, Kev's season, my season.
04:14And-
04:15it would be good to see those guys again.
04:16Who knows if he will retire, sort of.
04:20I feel like-
04:20I think this is it for LeBron this year.
04:21I don't know.
04:22All right, Knicks take care of the Raptors, 119 to 92.
04:25They blew him out.
04:26Mikel Bridges had 30 points in this one and it was an absolute blowout in the second half
04:30as the-
04:3172 to 41.
04:32After the game, Mike Brown gave all the props to his defensive wizard.
04:36O.G.
04:37and an OB.
04:38O.G. was our defensive player of the game.
04:39I think he had, he had six.
04:41Six steals.
04:42Seven deflections.
04:43Mike, those numbers are unheard of.
04:46Defensively.
04:47And, you know, the thing that I loved about O.G. was-
04:51his ability to attack the rim, like he attacked the rim, like-
04:56a grown man.
04:57For the offense to slow down, um-
05:01I think he got a little stagnant.
05:02Um, I thought we pushed the pace in the first-
05:06second quarter a little bit more than the second half.
05:09And, um-
05:11They just got a little bit more physical.
05:13They capitalized off of-

06:06O.G.

06:09because of the way we chose to play tonight.
06:12We started out flat.
06:14It's hard to explain that.
06:19Slowed the pace down, then they were scoring, then it led us.
06:24Turning the ball over, we had some really deflating offensive possessions.
06:29But we couldn't guard to give up a 40-point third quarter.
06:34On our home floor with great opportunity and playing.
06:39Really well in the first half, we just paid the price for that.
06:43We missed it.
06:44This opportunity, you know, great opportunity tonight.
06:49San Antonio, 111, Houston, 99.
06:52That was the final in that matchup last night.
06:54Rockets were two-and-a-half-point favorites.
06:55They don't win.
06:56They don't cover.
06:56Of course, San Antonio does.
06:58Victor Wimbayama.
06:59I had 28 points and 16 rebounds in the game.
07:01All right, over to College Hoops we go.
07:03Number 25.
07:04St. John's, they're playing some great basketball.
07:06They've now won seven straight games.
07:09Troy and Butler, 92-70, 12-and-a-half-point favorites.
07:12They end up winning.
07:13Ian.
07:14Jackson had 18 points in the game.
07:16And right now, it seems like Rick.
07:19Tino pretty happy with some of the way that his younger players are progressing.
07:23Well, I didn't think we'd have a problem.
07:24You know, but then when I realized we did, but now we're, we don't.
07:29We don't have as many problems because Ian's getting better and better and Dylan Darling's good.
07:32So, you know, it's.
07:34It's, it's like I said to you guys all along, not just with us, with every coach in the country.
07:39The most difficult thing is, is not navigating the portal, raising money.
07:43The most difficult.
07:44The most difficult thing is coaching eight new players every year.
07:45And it's not going to be a finished product early on.
07:49Now, if, if you get, you know, four or five starters back in a given year.
07:54It's, but that's very few teams have that.
07:57So it's just, it's just.
07:59Involving the way we hoped.
08:01Betting sweat last night.
08:03If you took.
08:04Houston, they beat TCU 79-70.
08:06They were eight and a half point favorites.
08:08Kingston fled.
08:09Clemings 27 points and the Florida Gators beat South Carolina in an ugly.
08:14They won 95-48, one of the biggest wins they've had by.
08:19origin in the history of college basketball at the University of Florida.
