00:00There was a moment where people were saying that Endgame would be
00:03Emilie and Camille.
00:05Wow, okay.
00:06Yeah, yeah. I heard that theory and I was like, you know what?
00:09Actually.
00:09Where could this go?
00:13All right.
00:14Do you remember the first time we met?
00:15And what was your first impression of me?
00:19I believe the first time we met was a table read.
00:21Yes.
00:22For season two, the first table read.
00:24And the first thing I realized was that we were getting a second Ashley Park,
00:31a second force of nature because you were so easy with people, like connecting people.
00:36Every person you would have a conversation with, you would leave them smiling.
00:40And my first impression was like, oh, he's a son, you know, he's a force of nature.
00:47I'll take that.
00:48Yeah, I remember that.
00:49That was 10 days in quarantine, so I had no one to speak to.
00:54So yeah, I might have overcooked it.
00:56I might have overcooked it.
00:57I might have overcooked it.
00:58What was it like joining the show one season in?
01:02I'm going to let you answer the first part of that question,
01:05because I think you know what my answer would be.
01:07It felt like, you know, the new kid on the block.
01:10There we go.
01:11There we go.
01:11That was his answer for every interview after season two.
01:14But no, honestly, to come on to a show that had such huge success in its first season
01:19was a little bit daunting.
01:21But also, I was only supposed to be there for two episodes.
01:23So in my eyes, it was just to have as much fun and embrace the moment as much as possible.
01:30And that really, really helped with having you on set by my side.
01:34I made some fun stuff to do season two as well.
01:36So I commend you for bringing me into the family.
01:39And yeah, I guess that's where the bromance blossom.
01:42Honestly, I feel like you've been here for season one, from season one.
01:45It's been a lifetime.
01:47It's been a lifetime.
01:48It's been seven years.
01:49We started in 2019.
01:51It's season six.
01:52I don't remember what it's like to be on this show without you being around, to be honest.
01:57Au revoir, chef.
01:58What's the wildest fan theory you've heard about the show or your character?
02:02I wouldn't call it wild, but there was a moment where people were saying that Endgame would be
02:10Emily and Camille.
02:12I think I love it.
02:14Wow, okay.
02:14Interesting.
02:15First, she should be alone as a strong, empowered woman.
02:19And then she should be with another woman.
02:21And yeah, I heard that theory and I was like, you know what?
02:24Actually, where could this go?
02:26Yeah, why not?
02:27But I love fan theory stuff.
02:30I love it because I think some of it actually does creep into what the storylines end up being.
02:35Like not taking anything away from the writers, but I do think they kind of lean into what the
02:40fans are kind of leaning into and what's out there in the ethos.
02:44So yeah, I agree with that.
02:45Give me your best picture of why Emily should end up with Alfie.
02:48I think Emily should end up with Alfie because he's honest, very sexy, true to his word,
02:54has a good situation, never did anything wrong, trustworthy, funny.
02:59The way he says Cooper is just cool.
03:02Oh, Cooper.
03:03And they just make sense together when they have a crazy chemistry on screen.
03:09Try to beat that.
03:10I guess it's Alfie, right?
03:11Gee, Alfie's Endgame.
03:13My best pitch for why Emily should end up with Gabriel.
03:16I think it's that star-crossed love.
03:19I think it's that it's ups and it's downs.
03:21And I think that's what real love and the idea of forever looks like.
03:26I feel like you guys have grown so much.
03:28I feel like Alfie and Emily connected in a moment where everything was amazing.
03:33Nothing was really kind of going wrong.
03:35It was all a little bit too streamlined in that way.
03:38Whereas I feel like Gabriel and Emily have evolved over time.
03:43And I feel like both characters are at new places now, but still hold on to that love that they
03:49had.
03:50And I think that that's a testament of time to where the characters are and how they still feel about
03:56each other.
03:57And I think that we can all have these passionate moments where, look, listen, this could be forever.
04:03But I think it takes a certain level of sustainability and problems and issues to be thrown at a couple
04:11to then be able to come up through the other side and recognize themselves of who they are now and
04:17what they've gone through.
04:18And I think that's what forever looks like.
04:22You made it so deep.
04:23Did I?
04:24You almost convinced me.
04:25Woo!
04:26I gave you a Tinder profile and you gave me an ethereal life lesson.
04:33What's one thing you know about me that you think our co-stars do not?
04:38Oh, boy.
04:42Next question.
04:43We're pretty tight.
04:44No, Lucas has this incredible collection of incredible things that never ceases to amaze me.
04:54So every time I go to his place, whether it be the doll of...
04:57What's his name?
04:58What's the doll?
04:59Oh, the Big Lebowski.
05:01Yeah, yeah.
05:01The Lebowski doll.
05:02Like, on his door frame.
05:04We were both at the Champions League final this year.
05:07Lucas, PSG, and Arsenal.
05:08And I don't know if he did it just to piss me off, but there's a little kind of...
05:15What's it called?
05:16Champions League.
05:17Champions League trophy above his doorbell, which I nearly knocked off and nearly threw away.
05:24But, yeah, you've got an incredible collection, whether it be Pokémon cards, whether it be
05:28like things from sets, then, yeah, you collect incredible things that mean things.
05:34When I bought my place five years ago...
05:37Which is so beautiful, by the way.
05:38It's so intricate.
05:40Like, I go in there for inspiration for my place.
05:42A friend visited, and I remember she said,
05:45it's so nice to be in a guy's apartment where there are no toys.
05:49The second she left, I started a collection.
05:51Big Lebowski, the Jumanji board game.
05:53Yeah, the Jumanji board.
05:54The ball, the Wilson ball from Castaway.
05:57Yeah.
05:58And, yeah, it's my rebellious side.
06:00All right.
06:00What does an ideal date night look like in Paris for you?
06:07I think an ideal date night should start with an afternoon with Lucien, asking him for advice.
06:13And then, just, I'm a walk and talk, you know, I think the city is designed a certain way.
06:19I think it's, I like to be intentional about that kind of stuff, because it's easy to just, you know,
06:25go for a drink or go for dinner.
06:27And I just love that kind of dynamic, you know, you just walk and on your way, you just run
06:33into people, history, a drunk person you can talk to.
06:37And it just, I think it's the best way to get to know someone.
06:41By the way, do never come to me for advice, by the way.
06:43No, no, he's actually pretty good.
06:45He makes me, yeah, he makes me secure about my values.
06:51My guy, my guy.
06:52What's one of the most romantic things you've ever done?
06:54The most romantic thing I've ever done.
06:56I think it's so specific to the person as well.
06:59But there's nothing more romantic to me than picking up on something, a conversation you've had previously,
07:08noting that down somewhere in the memory bank and being able to pull it out.
07:12I so agree with you.
07:13Whether it be a restaurant or an adventure or something like that.
07:18And a surprise is always good.
07:20Yeah, I think the idea, like you say, about the big flashy stuff doesn't really kind of sit well with
07:26me.
07:27I think it's more the thoughtful elements to romance, the details of romance that make romance romantic.
07:34Love is into detail.
07:36How's the meal?
07:37Oh, that's the man.
07:39Truly extraordinary.
07:40And you've got skills.
07:42Your character is a chef.
07:43What dish would you make someone you're trying to impress?
07:47I don't think food is to impress.
07:49I think food is love.
07:51My mother was a great cook.
07:53She's still alive.
07:54She's still a great cook.
07:55And I think her biggest love language was food.
07:59We were four kids and with my sister and brothers, she would still take time to adjust each dish
08:07to all of us and our tastes and our habits.
08:11And I think it felt like a lot of love.
08:14And so for me, food became a love language.
08:16The preparation.
08:17Yeah, and it's time as well.
08:19Time is a currency you cannot replace.
08:21When you give time to someone, I think it's love as well.
08:24Yeah.
08:25What's your favorite scene that we've ever filmed together?
08:29There's so many.
08:31Because we were a bit of a problem when we were on set, because we do have a little bit
08:34too much fun,
08:37sometimes, making the most out of the time that we have together, because we don't get to film
08:41that much.
08:42But there was something that came up the other day, and I think it was season two,
08:45where we got to play football underneath the Eiffel Tower.
08:49And honestly, I'm an Arsenal fan, so I'm going to break it down like this.
08:52It was like Bergkamp and Thierry Henry stepping up.
08:56But there was also like 15 other supporting artists who were on the field with us,
09:00who played ball.
09:01They were ballers.
09:02And we were coming in cold.
09:04And me and Luca held it down together.
09:07And I think that the shots came out really well.
09:10Yeah, that was just a magic moment.
09:11But there's something about the show.
09:13It has a key to the city.
09:15And you get to see the city in a way that you never would be able to as a tourist
09:20visiting.
09:20So to be able to kick a ball around with my boy, underneath the Eiffel Tower,
09:26with cameras rolling, so we've got evidence of us doing this, was pretty magic.
09:31So I'm going to go with that one.
09:32Can you remember the first time you were recognized or most memorable fan encounter?
09:36Wow.
09:37Oh, you know, it's so beautiful when fans do come up, because it's such an appreciation for the show.
09:43Netflix has this incredible reach.
09:46But one specific that will jump out is when we were shooting in Rome.
09:51I was by the fountain and a family came over.
09:55I kind of saw them from a distance.
09:57And there was kind of, do you know that moment where they're kind of working up?
09:59Yeah, yeah.
10:00Which one of them is going to have the energy to come over?
10:06And it was a beautiful family from a small town in Brazil.
10:09And we had an amazing conversation about life and the show and what they were up to,
10:15what the kids wanted to do.
10:16But it was just a kind of realization for me of what effect the show has on people
10:22from all around the world.
10:24And I know you're the same in that it's like when we're out and about and people come up
10:28and ask for photos or just want to have a quick chat.
10:31I guess, I think we almost both see it as a superpower in a way of just kind of being
10:35able
10:35to make someone's day and to connect with the people that watch us in their living rooms
10:40or on their phones or wherever they might be watching.
10:44And it's just a beautiful way to, in reality, to connect with them.
10:47So, yeah.
10:47And I like that we share the same values and principles about that.
10:51We actually were having drinks to celebrate the middle of production of this season.
10:58And the drinks were next to the big square where we have the restaurant,
11:01the apartment and everything.
11:03Oh, yeah.
11:03Now it's kind of, every time we shoot there, there are like, it's a tiny stadium.
11:08I think Lily's apartment is on Google Maps.
11:10It is, yeah.
11:12And we, as a joke, we decided to just go walk there and photobomb people
11:17because there's a constant line of people taking pictures in front of the restaurant.
11:21We got pushed out of so many photos that day until people clocked it with us.
11:26I will never forget that.
11:28I will never forget that.
11:29All right.
11:30Where do you think Gabriel will be in 10 years from now?
11:33Oh, wow.
11:33I think in 10 years, he will, he will have like, uh, maybe four or five restaurants.
11:40I thought you were going to say something else.
11:42Four or five wives.
11:44Wow, this joke can go really far.
11:45I think we're so far left.
11:46I think he will have like, four or five restaurants.
11:49Maybe one in Italy, three in Paris and one in, uh, New York, maybe.
11:54I like that.
11:55And he will just be traveling here and there and just like, maybe being a consultant.
12:00And eventually, he will retire to his, uh, happy place, Antigua.
12:04Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
12:06Where Lucien's from?
12:07We'll be kicking it.
12:08I think he will have like, two kids.
12:09Yeah.
12:10With who?
12:12Dun, dun, dun, wait for the movie, guys.
12:17It'd be cool to have a 10 year reunion where we all end up.
12:19That'd be cool.
12:20Yeah.
12:21It's the only downhill from here.
12:23Where do you think Alfie will be 10 years from now?
12:25Alfie, I don't think he'll be in the CFO game.
12:28I don't think he'll be in accountancy.
12:30I think that this journey that he's been on, living in Paris, meeting the people he's met,
12:35seeing the freedoms that everyone has.
12:37I can see Alfie kind of taking a step back.
12:40Wishful thinking.
12:41This is just for our 10 year, um, anniversary.
12:44I think he'll probably be in the Caribbean.
12:46A cool little pop-up kind of situation, bar close to the beach, pool table, good music.
12:53He'll be behind the bar.
12:55You'll have done the menu for him.
12:57So you'll be coughing in every now and then.
12:59And I think that's where Alfie will be.
13:01Because I think for Alfie, everything's, it's been so intense work-wise and things like that.
13:07And I think that he'll be ready for his break.
13:09I guess they'll, Gabriel and Alfie will just be together.
13:12I think that, I think so.
13:13In the Caribbean, just chilling.
13:14There we go.
13:15Sometimes they'll talk about the good old days.
13:17Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:18Yeah.
13:19Remember when you dated.
13:21What will you miss the most about working with me?
13:23Oh gosh, the knowledge, the love, the care, the affection you have, not just for me, but for
13:28everyone.
13:29Your ability to communicate your emotions and how you feel is, I've never been around
13:38anyone that can communicate the way you do.
13:40When I get a call from him, a FaceTime from him at like midweek, I answer the FaceTime
13:46and I'm just laughing.
13:47I'm just laughing.
13:48So I'm going to miss that.
13:50But I also know that I've got you for the rest of my life.
13:55So this is just a chapter.
13:56And the next chapter that we, we, we step into as brothers, as friends,
14:00is going to be just as magical.
14:02There's going to be more adventures.
14:03Like you, you mentioned it and you said it so beautifully before.
14:08This is kind of like our graduation, leaving the show, the show ending.
14:12And it's just what comes after graduation.
14:15We don't have to go to class anymore.
14:16We're just, we're on vacay, baby.
14:19Hey, cheers to you anyway.
14:2010 years from now, whether it be building a house somewhere or working on, on, on, on,
14:26on a script, developing something, working on a project with Lucas, um, would be a dream.
14:32And I had love, love, love more than anything.
14:34And I know it's going to happen in the not so distant future.
14:37And that might be a little bit of a hint, but, um, it's out there now.
14:40But yeah, um, someone's been writing happy and healthy, happy and healthy with the people
14:45I love and, um, with whatever is going on in the world, just to, to be able to smile,
14:50wake up in the morning and, and, and smile.
14:52I think I can't ask for much else than that.
14:53I'd be grateful for everything I've had.
14:55Yeah.
14:55Or, or me and Lucas will be doing the Emily in Paris tours.
15:00In Paris, so that's plan B, that's plan B, that's plan B.
15:04Honestly, it's not because we're doing this, it's, it's going to sound like too much, but
15:08what makes me the most happy these days is, is, is, is hanging out with Lucien,
15:13hanging out with Ashley.
15:14We've been constantly organizing little things here and there at my place, his place,
15:18her place, the, the paddle, the, the, the concerts, the, the activities.
15:22I, it's been, honestly, it makes me feel good and just waking up in the morning with the text.
15:28I was in Ibiza a few days ago and he, and he came just for the night, uh, he flew,
15:35he was like,
15:36you know, he was yawning and falling asleep, but he was there with me as a friend.
15:41And, uh, it's just, uh, as I said, it's just simple and it feels good.
15:46And that's what makes me happy these days.
15:48Yeah, I'd agree.
15:49I'd agree.
15:49I think we're both in our creative bags at the minute and to be able to share this moment,
15:55this last season and to know what we've been through and to really, really kind of sit
16:00with each other and appreciate the growth that we've all gone through.
16:04To have gone through this journey with these people, with Lucas and to come out of it,
16:09not just closer than we started, but really have that kinship is, is, is really magical.
16:15And I appreciate it so, so much.
16:18And it's, it's like we're on a different sort of cloud now, a different sort of frequency
16:24and to, to see him smile and to have the laughs that we do, I think maybe because it is
16:31coming
16:31to an end, it just makes me appreciate every moment so much more.
16:37And I don't take it for granted whatsoever.
