00:00Spanish footballer Aitana Bonmatti is one of the most decorated female footballers in this
00:05modern era.
00:06For the third consecutive year, she was voted as the best FIFA women's player for 2025.
00:11She's attained the same number of Ballon d'Or titles as well and also won the International
00:16Sports Press Association Award for 2025.
00:19It's an honor the Barcelona midfielder has gracefully accepted.
00:22It's my 14th year in Barcelona, so it's been a lot of work to achieve this kind of trophies
00:32and I'm very happy and glad to everyone who has voted me for all the awards.
00:40She credits a strong mind for her achievements and her ability to reap increasing success
00:45year after year.
00:47My mentality helped me to achieve all the trophies and to keep wanting to win more.
00:59For the moment, I'm in a stop because of my injury, but I hope to come back and elevate
01:08my level.
01:09Growing up, the 28-year-old says she did not feel connected to any female football idols.
01:15Instead, she indicated she felt more attached to male players like Xavi Alonzo and Andrea
01:20Siniesta, both former Spanish footballers.
01:23Yeah, and when I was a kid, I don't have a woman role model to look at, so it was the boys
01:32and my role models when I was a kid was Xavi Iniesta because of her style of playing.
01:40And despite all her accolades, she indicated she's not done yet.
01:44Congratulations on your achievements.
01:47My question to you this morning is, now that you've achieved some of the top awards in your
01:51sport, what else is there that you would like to accomplish in football?
01:55Yeah.
01:57Well, I'm lucky because I have a lot of awards in these past years, but particularly we lost
02:11this year last summer in Switzerland.
02:16So I would like to achieve this award and collect it in my career.
02:23It's an important team award and of course we would like to come back four years later and
02:33try to achieve this special award.
