00:00:00What a free shot!
00:00:02Oh, what a goal! Oh, look at that!
00:00:04Absolutely phenomenal!
00:00:06Rooney O'Hall!
00:00:08Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:00:30Seven games and loads of goals on tonight's Match of the Day, including at the Merseyside Derby.
00:00:56And I'm joined in the studio by a red and a blue.
00:00:59Welcome to Wayne Rooney and to Danny Murphy.
00:01:02So Liverpool came into the Derby top of the Premier League with four wins from four.
00:01:06Everton's David Moyes has never won at Anfield.
00:01:09Steve Wilson, watch this one.
00:01:13It's one of the great occasions of any season.
00:01:16And you can probably count the dull ones on the fingers of one hand.
00:01:21Standby for Liverpool against Everton.
00:01:24Football at its most febrile.
00:01:27Oneslott makes four changes to the XI, which started against Atletico on Wednesday.
00:01:32Werth and Isak are both on the bench.
00:01:34Robertson and Frimpong also drop out.
00:01:36In come Kirkes, Bradley, McAllister and Eketike.
00:01:40Everton have made their best start to a season for four years.
00:01:43David Moyes making one change to the side which threw with Villa.
00:01:47Vitaly Michalenko is fit again and replaces Tim Eric Boonham.
00:01:51Allowing James Garner back into his preferred midfield role.
00:01:55Eight played, the vast majority of it has seen Liverpool with the ball at their feet.
00:02:04But Pickford with nothing to do as yet.
00:02:07Gakpo tried to whittle between Idrissa Garnagé and O'Brien and couldn't quite do it.
00:02:12A new man N'Jai.
00:02:17That's nice.
00:02:18Good foot in by Gakpo, won it cleanly.
00:02:21He's back on his feet, the Everton man.
00:02:27Ryan Gravenberg.
00:02:37Salah, beautifully done.
00:02:38And Gravenberg!
00:02:42Oh, it's a lovely goal.
00:02:47The Liverpool have danced and probed in front of Everton for ten minutes.
00:02:52And then they strike, and how they strike.
00:02:57Well, Everton may argue that that was a foul from which Liverpool's move unfolded.
00:03:08But Gravenberg here not picked up and brilliantly found by Salah.
00:03:12And the finish is exceptional.
00:03:15Liverpool lead.
00:03:17And Everton have not come from behind to win in this stadium since 1923.
00:03:27Here's Salah.
00:03:31Good hit!
00:03:33Just too high.
00:03:34Ekiteke wanted a pass, actually.
00:03:36But Mohamed Salah having already provided an assist in this game was looking for a goal.
00:03:41And you've seen him put them away many a time from that kind of position.
00:03:4820 minutes played and the Jota song rings out around Anfield.
00:03:54His last goal for Liverpool was the goal which won this fixture last season.
00:03:59Garner nicely done, Grealish.
00:04:06Beto in the middle.
00:04:08Dewsbury Hall here for Everton.
00:04:10Wasn't far away.
00:04:13Nicely worked down that left-hand side.
00:04:16Good football and encouragement for Everton.
00:04:23It's probably the early start, but for Merseyside Derby Anfield is very quiet.
00:04:27Millen in the IF todo game here!
00:04:30Here's the beautiful track.
00:04:32The main number one!
00:04:34McAllister!
00:04:35Oh lovely ball!
00:04:36Ekytique!
00:04:382-0 Liverpool!
00:04:40Well they've produced two moments of real quality in this game.
00:04:51takes a bow and takes Liverpool into a two-goal lead
00:04:58great ball and tucked away in a very composed fashion by Ekitike and Liverpool have a two-goal
00:05:08cushion players of both sides wearing black armbands today in memory of two former Liverpool
00:05:13players Joey Jones twice a European champion with the club and former striker Bobby Graham who both
00:05:19passed away recently
00:05:26error by Alisson he's in Manan Jai
00:05:31and Beto very difficult to get that on target from there well Alisson's error
00:05:43look how difficult that is for Beto slightly behind in hip height very difficult indeed
00:05:50Vitaly Mikolenko finds Jack Grealish that's a lovely ball into Dewsbury Hall Beto is in the middle he's
00:05:58pulled it back to Idrissa Garnaguet and Alisson saves wasn't a good connection on the end of it by
00:06:03Idrissa Garnaguet and he didn't really trouble Alisson as much as he should have done
00:06:11since the second goal Liverpool have been low-key and Everton have been the more dangerous side
00:06:16Ekitike now there's a break on Cody Gatpo should get there ahead of Keane there are five forward here Keane with the half block but Gatpo will have another go and he's picked out Salah beautifully
00:06:31Salah comfortable save
00:06:34well a really good Liverpool counter attack that didn't quite
00:06:39pay the dividends it promised it's a great touch from Mohamed Salah but
00:06:44not much power on the shot
00:06:49Bradley
00:06:52deflecting off Idrissa Garnaguet to the path of James Garner
00:06:57here's Grealish
00:07:06that's a good ball by Grealish and Dye and Idrissa Garnaguet a score for Everton
00:07:13it's a really good goal
00:07:15and it's changed the whole complexion at Anfield
00:07:22and you'd have to say Everton deserve it
00:07:27really intelligent by Ilyman and Jai to touch it back into the path of Idrissa Garnaguet
00:07:34it's Liverpool two Everton one
00:07:37Kanate's header
00:07:44Dewsbury Hall first onto it Ilyman and Jai here
00:07:47lovely feet
00:07:48he's found Grealish
00:07:50plenty forward here for Everton Grealish's little cross
00:07:53Idrissa Garnaguet
00:07:55and Alisson under pressure
00:07:58play on says Darren England does he no he has given the free kick
00:08:02well that is a warning for Liverpool should be a warning for Liverpool
00:08:07walk with this for Alisson
00:08:11the Everton substitute the judge to have jumped into the Liverpool keeper which seems fair enough on the replay
00:08:20Liverpool with Soboslai and now Salah and it's four against Everton's five Salah finds Florian Wirtz
00:08:28who steps inside and Tarkovsky covering brilliantly for Everton
00:08:33and Liverpool have a corner they might have had a third here
00:08:36back for Tarkovsky
00:08:38that's a really good defending
00:08:41Soboslai's corner
00:08:42Konate's header and it hit Grealish
00:08:46shouts of handball from those behind the goal
00:08:50it's a good header by Konate and that is clearly the ribs of Grealish
00:08:55Deewsbury Hall
00:08:58challenged by Jones
00:09:00a good challenge by Idrissa Garnaguet in return
00:09:02and that's a foul
00:09:07that's a painful one Jack Grealish caught
00:09:16and
00:09:16Tewsbury Hall has been booked here and I think it's for taking the free kick before the whistle is gone
00:09:24The referee blows his whistle and Liverpool have won the 247th Merseyside Derby and continue their 100% record
00:09:38Liverpool 2 Everton 1
00:09:39Liverpool 2 Everton 1
00:09:42Taking everything into account
00:09:45that we had to play our third game in seven days and
00:09:49playing Wednesday evening having the early kick-off
00:09:52taking that all into account and then playing the Derby and winning it
00:09:55we have a great first half performance is good
00:09:58people keep saying that being 2-0 up is the worst thing Liverpool can be
00:10:04yeah
00:10:06no no but
00:10:08I think we had also the opportunity to score more but
00:10:112-1 then you know especially in this game Everton with the defence that they have and
00:10:16they keep coming keep coming then you have to defend but
00:10:21next time
00:10:23we don't consider
00:10:24I think somebody said to me I think they had maybe nine attempts at goal and
00:10:28couple three or four on target and we had seven so maybe in the end of the day there wasn't so much
00:10:32between it we've got no problems the players are doing really well and
00:10:36we just pulled up a little bit short against
00:10:39one of the best teams in the league if not the best and
00:10:42you know it shows that we're coming a long way
00:10:44you got a yellow card after the final whistle for a
00:10:46disagreement with the referee can I ask you what that was for
00:10:50he gave Kiernan a yellow card for taking a quick free kick and I was like
00:10:54I was like what are you doing like
00:10:55you can't give we want to get the we're losing do you know what I mean like
00:11:00we want to get the the ball back in play and carry on playing and he gives him a yellow card
00:11:06it baffles me I'm so unheard of I've never heard of that in my life so I was just saying that to
00:11:10him and then also I was saying where'd you get three minutes from and one minute in the first half
00:11:14for extra time I've never heard of that either come on
00:11:18usually it's four or five minutes in it
00:11:22so yeah listen it is what it is
00:11:25you know we move on
00:11:27yeah and then I didn't even know that he gave me a yellow actually so that's news to me
00:11:32well he knows now and he also talked about added time at the end of the of the game but really it
00:11:38wasn't there the second half where the game was won it was a very different second half from the first
00:11:42where Liverpool put it beyond Everton in the end yeah they were really bright and sharp first half
00:11:47I think he made some changes which helped them the freshness but I thought what they did really
00:11:51well is utilize the space behind Everton's midfield three and the back four the gaps were too big and
00:11:56Liverpool were really intelligent in how they got the ball in there early we see early on
00:12:02there's the Everton midfield three locked in on their opponents without really thinking about the
00:12:08space behind them I kind of get it early on but they get caught out this time it's Kyrgyz from
00:12:12the left back position terrific ball there's a space yeah maybe the back four could squeeze up a
00:12:17little bit there but the midfield's job early on condense that space be compact then they're on to
00:12:22the back four they actually defend this one pretty well and get away with it but it was it was an early
00:12:27warning for them to be honest Gravenberg the holding midfielder plays the ball and then he just
00:12:33continues his run because they switch off and there's that big gap again we're talking about
00:12:38when you're playing against players of such quality they're gonna rotate positions they're gonna
00:12:42they're gonna come in off the wide areas the deep midfield is bright he's brilliant by the way he's
00:12:46been terrific the last three games so Bozlai in the familiar role look they're so preoccupied with
00:12:50looking at the ball that the gap behind them they're not thinking about and and maybe the communication
00:12:56between the back line the midfield wasn't great and again they get let off the hook here so Bozlai
00:13:01free on the edge of the box I think it's Tarkovsky gets the block on this occasion
00:13:04Ekatike dropped into these lovely little pockets he likes doing that gap gap post swap places with
00:13:11him and then of course good players they find they find the spare man in the hole and when you
00:13:18continually give up that space as Everton did you're going to be under the cosh and at times they were
00:13:23hanging on and Liverpool you know were really dominant in that first half again that man I've talked about
00:13:28Gravenberg he's in that space a holding midfielder he's gone past McAllister he's gone past the Bozlai
00:13:34super little pass into the forward of Ekatike who gets another goal and did really well this afternoon
00:13:41to be fair to Everton in the second half they must have talked about it because they were more compact
00:13:46they won more second balls they condensed that space more and didn't get too preoccupied with what
00:13:50was ahead of them and from there they got a foundation into the game but job done first half really bright
00:13:55yeah they they did improve Everton but could they have done more to stop the goals
00:14:00yeah I think they could have I think the goals were were really poor goals for for Everton to concede and
00:14:06you know when you go into Anfield you want to be tight you want to be solid and
00:14:09and not give any easy chances away and I just felt the goals were too easy for for Liverpool to score so if
00:14:16we if we look here you look at a Ghana guy in particular in the middle of the pitch
00:14:21as Gravenberg lays the ball off he just carried on his run Michael Keane gets sucked across I think
00:14:25too far and then the minute that happens Tarkowski should come across to cover him
00:14:29but he doesn't um he goes too late and Gravenberg carries on his run and it's a it's a wonderful
00:14:35ball and an unbelievable finish um from and the second goal here I think when you you look at the
00:14:41back line of Everton if you if you look them there they never they never get up they never get compact
00:14:45they never get together they never get on one line and as Danny said with Medeka TK he's a good player
00:14:50he he's really clever here he he can see that Michalenko is is deeper he can he knows he can
00:14:56stay in beyond Michael Keane and then Michael Keane can't get back Tarkowski doesn't cover quick
00:15:04enough but just here if you look at Tarkowski I think if he goes with his left leg he blocks the
00:15:09shot he doesn't he he shortens his stride and then goes with his right leg there and then that allows
00:15:13Ekaterka to get a shot off and and it's a fantastic finish and from there it makes it very difficult for
00:15:18to get back in the game don't you think no Wayne that some of the confusion comes from Liverpool
00:15:22swapping positions a lot and then they they're like in between and they don't know who's picking
00:15:27who up yeah I do but I think on the second goal there John Pickford plays a long ball so it's quite
00:15:33easy for the for Michael Keane Tarkowski the leaders in there to make sure they get up and they get on
00:15:38one line because the minute you don't that's what happens they punish them uh the BBC drama series
00:15:43the city is ours reference there by Hugo Ekaterka clearly a big fan all episodes available now on
00:15:47one-eye player should you want to go and watch it and look as far as Liverpool's performance
00:15:52goes Danny again they weren't at their at their best are there signs that they are are going to
00:15:58to kick into gear maybe after the next international break before then later what do you think
00:16:03I think there's good signs because in most matches they've had great moments I thought midweek was a
00:16:07really good performance overall although they had a little spell in the second half but today
00:16:12the the more obvious thing was the fatigue from Wednesday night in the second half as the game wore on you
00:16:17could see that but still so many new players forming relationships and understanding what
00:16:22each other does you know Ekaterka is different to Isak so if you're playing with either one you have to
00:16:27learn their traits and their characteristics so to win five out of five not playing at your
00:16:32best is a phenomenal start for them and actually a really good sign let's see if we can do any better
00:16:37for you Wayne with the next one because it's been a tough start to the season for Ruben Amarim's
00:16:41Manchester United and they face the Chelsea side looking to bounce back from midweek Champions
00:16:46League defeat by Bayern Munich your commentator for this one is Guy Mowbrie
00:16:53of all Manchester United's many problems the one highlighted most by Ruben Amarim has been not
00:16:58converting chances and with that in mind Benjamin Shasko needs to start paying a return on his big money
00:17:05move from Leipzig ASAP the giant Slovenian striker stays in the side today for his second start in
00:17:11the Premier League despite being fairly anonymous in the Manchester derby last Sunday Chelsea's Moises
00:17:17Caicedo well he's scored twice from midfield already this season he only scored twice in the whole of
00:17:22last season including a cracker here to make it 1-1 in early November it's a grim day in a grim time for
00:17:32Manchester United and Chelsea aim to make it a blue day with a first win here since 2013
00:17:41it does go without saying but let's say it anyway conditions will play a big part in this
00:17:48it's absolutely filthy helped on by Shasko and Bumau is caught by Sanchez it's going to be a free kick but
00:17:57what else were the defenders covering sufficiently Peter Banks has a big decision to make
00:18:07red card for Robert Sanchez
00:18:09Shasko makes a difference quite possibly for the first time in a Manchester United shirt
00:18:17by helping it on to Mbermo who's been trying his best in every single game
00:18:26he's off he's got to go says Sam Allardyce so Alex Ferguson was asking for red and got his wish
00:18:32the chance Philip Jorgensen is going to come on and Estevão is going to be the player replaced
00:18:43no arguments about the challenge it was a goal scoring opportunity
00:18:47who's is it it is Bruno Fernandes straight into the wall and Bumau over the bar deflated that way
00:18:57Ruben Amarim has doubled down trebled down and quadrupled down but he won't change his system
00:19:13the quotes get more interesting by the week yesterday no one not even the Pope will make me change
00:19:18run by Masraoui nodded into Bruno Fernandes he had to look once he had to look twice the flag has stayed down
00:19:32and he starts celebrating a 1-0 Manchester United lead
00:19:38let's see if VAR will bring anything up as regards offside
00:19:43I think this will stand but they'll check it to the millimetre
00:19:51is it Bruno Fernandes 100th goal for Manchester United or not it is Manchester United 1 Chelsea 0
00:20:04turns out the move was perfectly timed the finish was perfect to beat Jorgensen
00:20:13Manchester United one up and a man up well this has to be their day doesn't it
00:20:20first thing that's gone against them there it's a yellow card for Casemiro
00:20:26challenge that he didn't really have to make
00:20:33six wins out of 33 visits to Old Trafford in the Premier League for Chelsea
00:20:38those six wins all under different managers
00:20:42João Pedro takes it on and then loses out to Masraoui he's got his hands outstretched claiming he was
00:20:47clipped the challenge on João Pedro is being looked at by Craig Paulson the VAR
00:20:53so we'll have a look at it too and as we do we get the message all being checked and cleared
00:20:58across comes for Farna is he quick enough not quite it's going to be a corner
00:21:11Bruno Fernandes is nearby should he be wanted and he is
00:21:15here's Masraoui
00:21:19Jorgensen decides not to bother
00:21:23not back into the only place where there wasn't a red shirt there's one there and there's one there
00:21:27it's Casemiro it's 2-0
00:21:33headed in by the Brazilian but made by a towering Luke Shaw leap
00:21:40he took off he actually didn't get anything on it but Maguire did and Casemiro did the rest
00:21:51there's Impermo but his his swipe didn't make connection
00:22:01Kukure has made connection there with Masraoui and he's going to be yellow carded for it
00:22:06Kukure has a look has another look and jumps into the tackle you know what at first that looked
00:22:16as though he just didn't know Masraoui was coming he knew exactly where he was he left the floor and
00:22:21it's not a good tackle at all yellow is the least he deserved
00:22:25Andre Santos
00:22:31Casemiro has a hold of him and it is a free kick Casemiro is on a yellow card
00:22:37Casemiro is going to be dismissed it's going to be 10 versus 10 that could be a game changer
00:22:43it will certainly change the Chelsea attitude on the stroke of half-time
00:22:49the most experienced player on the pitch has just done that
00:22:55George
00:23:07Fernandes
00:23:10Augusto gets a corner playing it against Shaw
00:23:13and even Amarim has spoken of his side's need to be more clinical in both boxes as James puts another cross in
00:23:23and it's in now
00:23:25and Amarim now knows he and his players have even more work to do supercross from Rhys James it
00:23:39hung delightfully in the air
00:23:42Celleber watching it all the way onto his head
00:23:44and Garte gives it away to James and the atmosphere changes but Bruno Fernandes has won the ball it wasn't a great touch by James and
00:23:58Fernandes is away from him to shoot
00:24:00Jorgensen has kept Chelsea in it
00:24:04that goes in it's all over
00:24:06the goalkeeper pressed into action just minutes into the match
00:24:13that's his best bit of action that's going in from Manchester United's talisman
00:24:18and
00:24:23Ruben Amarim cannot keep still
00:24:26he needs this today he has to have this today
00:24:30every win especially in this moment is important against a great opponent
00:24:39but I think we start the game in the right way
00:24:42we were really aggressive
00:24:44of course the centre from Chelsea help us to dominate the game
00:24:50then we score two goals and then we try to complicate our game again
00:24:55it's always complicated with us
00:24:57Cole Palmer is that purely just to protect the injury that he's got
00:25:01no Cole this morning he did a test to play this game
00:25:05it was not 100% he did a fantastic effort for the you know for again for the club for the teammates
00:25:11for the team
00:25:12you want to perform you want to put the best performance as you can out there but
00:25:16at the end of the day what it matters the most is getting points and
00:25:18we're not getting the points we wanted until now today we got
00:25:21we got the three points and that's the main thing for for today
00:25:24the red card completely changed the game
00:25:27after three minutes then become difficult and then after probably the red card for them again 10v10
00:25:34change a little bit the game for us but overall I think
00:25:38absolutely we need to start the game in the better way
00:25:43Danny three minutes is the earliest that a premier league goalkeeper has been sent off in 30 years
00:25:48what did you make of Robert Sanchez dismissal
00:25:50well I think it's the right decision I thought United started the game actually just before that
00:25:55really quickly with a good tempo and some tenacity about them
00:25:59a terrific head here from Cesc and Mbruma loves to run in behind and I just he loses his time in and
00:26:04his position just a rush of blood early in the game catches him on the knee it's
00:26:10it's a difficult one the referee's got to send him off really some there will be some conversation about
00:26:14the fact would he got the ball or not but you never get away with those as a goalkeeper when you take
00:26:18someone out on the edge of the box so it was the right decision and gave United then
00:26:24the platform to go on and dominate the early stages of the game
00:26:28eventually Manchester United also down to 10 men in that game when Casemiro was sent off you know
00:26:35as we heard in the in the commentary one of the most experienced players for Manchester United what
00:26:40did you make of the the manner of the two yellows Wayne yeah it's silly it's it's it's naive for such an
00:26:46experienced player and Manchester United have full control of the game and and if you look here it's
00:26:51just there's no need for him to to go into that tackle Chelsea with 10 men um and yet the conditions
00:26:56were the difficulty that was wet and slippy but yeah that's a silly silly booking and I felt then maybe
00:27:03Ruben takes him off takes him off the game because you always fear that this happens and he he goes and
00:27:07gets a second yellow card it's harsh it's a bit harsh um he wins the ball but then you see his arms
00:27:12there pulling in pulling them down so yeah I think is you don't expect that from such an experienced
00:27:18player and and that could have cost Manchester United today so thankfully it didn't but yeah a bit naive
00:27:23that's the the question really isn't it is why a player of that experience gets himself into that
00:27:27situation no way should know I've been said so a few times but not when we've got to 10 men like that
00:27:33but no I think he's I think that's the only way he knows how to play I think he's passionate he's
00:27:39front footed he he likes to put his foot in and put tackles in and um but I think that he could have
00:27:45just held his composure a little bit better than he did the second one was really silly yeah you know
00:27:49that that you the last thing you do is go make it even it was a really bad and apparently as Ruben
00:27:55said he was very aware of it and apologetic after and they got away with it so obviously
00:28:00Enzo Mareska makes the substitution because he needs to bring on a goalkeeper but it was three
00:28:05substitutes within 21 minutes of the the start of the game which is the earliest any manager's done
00:28:10that in the in the Premier League what did you make of his his choices well I think bringing an
00:28:15extra defender on is understandable um and taking off an attacker but a few minutes later then
00:28:20Palmer's off after the 1-0 down and we felt Neto and Cole Palmer coming off was a really negative move
00:28:27now okay we trust his word that he's struggling a bit with injury so but maybe should have brought
00:28:32him off at the beginning then and left Neto on for his pace because even when they got level men's
00:28:36second half they really didn't have that much of a threat on the break you know to beat somebody to
00:28:41beat people there was only João Pedro who really had that forward thinking they had no imagination on
00:28:46the pitch did they and I felt that that's what was missing for Chelsea had a lot of possession going
00:28:50side to side second half but they missed that creativity which a Cole Palmer or a Neto could
00:28:55bring them so I think the change was strange but thankfully it helped help United well the change was
00:29:01strange but the whole game was strange can we read anything into either that result or those performances
00:29:07no it was a strange game and I think obviously when it went to 10 men apiece I just felt there was no
00:29:13urgency from Chelsea to try and get back in the game obviously they get one goal back from a cross
00:29:19there was no cross in the box the two crosses they put in the box they get one goal and then they have
00:29:22another good chance and it was just slow it was side to side and and yet the weather was was poor but
00:29:29I think if you're a Chelsea fan you you'd want to see them with a bit more urgency to try and get
00:29:33something out of the game United did defend well though to be fair they stayed disciplined
00:29:36they didn't go chasing the game which was a real clever thing to do when you've got the lead
00:29:42now the pressure has been growing on West Ham's Graham Potter after a poor start to the season
00:29:47and there were fan protests against the board ahead of their game against Crystal Palace
00:29:52commentary comes from Alistair Mann
00:29:57Graham Potter's requested patience as he shapes his new look team a statement from the club a few
00:30:03days ago appears to be supportive accentuating that his remit is to focus on integrating young players
00:30:10from the academy that said two heavy home defeats have led to the footballing scribe speculating and
00:30:16today the hammers go into a third home London derby without Thomas Socek whose untimely red card was so
00:30:23pivotal against Spurs today Callum Wilson's given his first start since signing while Alphonse Arreola is
00:30:29preferred in goal the return to fitness of Adam Wharton is the only alteration to the Palisade which
00:30:36extended its unbeaten start to the season with a draw against Sunderland indeed they've not lost in any
00:30:42competition in their last 16 matches Crystal Palace haven't lost on any of their last visits to the
00:30:52London stadium West Ham haven't won here since February
00:31:01they've worked that pretty well Somerville and Dioff
00:31:07there's good energy about the build-up and they win the game's first corner from it
00:31:12they've lost every game so far this season they were
00:31:42protests pre-match but not aimed at Graham Potter but aimed at the board
00:31:51he's changing the angle well to bring in Muñoz
00:31:56across towards Pino and then Kamada
00:32:01and just wide of the post that's probably as close as we've come to a goal
00:32:07the unity at Sellers Park is in marked contrast to the disunity here
00:32:14both content just halting the other's progress ball in main towards Mateta Kamada and then hit
00:32:26deflected by Jeremy Pino and out for a corner
00:32:29it might have hit the arm of Walker Peters but it was just slammed at him
00:32:40good delivery against the bar over the line from Mateta and Palace lead
00:32:45well there's been so much talk about West Ham's vulnerability from set-piece defending same old
00:32:54story I'm afraid for West Ham United a ball into the box a gay header against the bar
00:33:00and Mateta the quickest to react and despite every effort from Mavropanas on the line it was already over
00:33:09it and Crystal Palace in a game where chances have been at a premium have West Ham in familiar and rather depressing territory
00:33:2127th of February the last time West Ham won a home game he probably knows that
00:33:26and he's getting to know that
00:33:31Somerville Pakatar good ball Dioff and now Somerville brilliant counter-attack from West Ham
00:33:39Wilson is he onside that's the first question in the end he's lost the ball anyway
00:33:46Somerville Pakatar Dioff between them turn defence into attack and as Wilson try to come back on the inside
00:33:56he just found the ball going away from him just maybe offer some optimism for those who are supporting the home side
00:34:08so having conceded for a seventh time from a corner this season West Ham must now find a goal against a
00:34:16side who've conceded just once at all in the Premier League so far West Ham might have some defending to
00:34:23do early in the second Munoz almost in that's a good sliding challenge by Dioff and the only downside to that
00:34:33excellent tackle is that it gives Palace a chance from a corner
00:34:37and they almost conceded again La Croix with a header and it came off the bar
00:34:46really good meat by La Croix
00:34:55Walker Peters now Bowen
00:34:59now West Ham have a corner what can they do to Palace what Palace have done to them
00:35:06now they're going to get another chance because Wharton's thumped it away
00:35:19and just as it seemed as though
00:35:31West Ham might have gone two down now the mood changes again Bowen just peeled away and glanced
00:35:42in beyond everyone
00:35:49here's Bowen
00:35:58Richards put himself in a good position to clear it Dioff clips it in Henderson clears it
00:36:04Ward Prowse and now Walker Peters and Henderson is there again
00:36:11and it was headed towards the goal I think it was necessarily going into it from Pakatar
00:36:17that Richards made sure
00:36:23Munoz
00:36:24watered towards Kamada
00:36:33and oh brilliantly turned in that is a sensational goal by Mitchell
00:36:40he just sat up to be hit on the volley but on his supposedly weaker right foot
00:36:46he has just smashed that into the roof of the net like a striker in his pomp
00:36:53he is a left wing back
00:36:57but when you see a finish of that quality you just wonder why that is
00:37:04it's been a much better performance but looks like it might be the same result for Graham Potter
00:37:10yet another home defeat in a London derby
00:37:15I'm getting older and older and the players have to look after my heart
00:37:19and uh yeah and we had so many situations where we could decide it also the keeper saved one two
00:37:25we are not clinical enough and this is uh but it's still at the beginning of the season
00:37:30so it's really good not to be on your top level at the beginning so you need to be on the top level
00:37:35in that in the crunch time
00:37:37how difficult a period is this
00:37:39yeah it's tough of course it is i mean the results are not what we want at all
00:37:44and um i feel for the players i feel for the supporters
00:37:47uh i feel for everybody connecting with the club because uh you know it is a tough time and um
00:37:52you're trying to find the answer and i think that's what we have to do we have to try to
00:37:55sit together and find a solution
00:37:57well a good win and a great start to the season for crystal palace wayne but yet again
00:38:03west ham undone by a set piece seven of the 13 goals they've conceded this season have been from corners
00:38:10yeah they've been really poor from set pieces and conceding seven goals already this season is too
00:38:16many and if we look here they've actually they've picked players up one bersaka here you see he's very
00:38:23tight but then kukurea gets a flick on and then that can happen wamsaka just doesn't get off the
00:38:29ground here but again here casey though come round the back second ball again not reacting to
00:38:36to to the ball coming in and this is chelsea coming hasn't it yeah this is chelsea a few weeks
00:38:42ago again second ball and if you look here you've got four players in the spares game in
00:38:47what's the front post you don't want to check the shoulder don't look over the shoulder to see who's
00:38:51coming in behind them to see if they can get a block or get a header on the ball and then the
00:38:55ball comes in the box then bergval and palina clever block the west hand defenders here and then
00:39:02side at the back post it's easy header and a good goal and then if we look at the goal today with palace
00:39:09it's a three v two by the penalty area and so there's gay he gets free completely free header
00:39:15and the ball comes in completely free header mateta on the goalkeeper no one marking him
00:39:21and maverick panos instead of going back to get into mateta he goes on the goal line and then that's
00:39:26too late and crystal palace score another set piece goal and andrea potter said that they've been
00:39:31working on the set pieces and as a coach when you're you're working you're putting the work in then
00:39:37that's all he can do he can keep working to try and stop it he's being asked more and more difficult
00:39:41questions now graham potter and he is under real pressure he was under pressure before this game
00:39:46how much threat is there on his future now huge huge threat i mean the numbers of lopetegui there
00:39:53got him the sack and graham potter's a worse average per game if you go through the the metrics there
00:39:58look they they don't make enough chances they don't look a threat um yes the set plays are really poor
00:40:05but if you're if you're not scoring the other end and you're not finding it easy to make chances and
00:40:10getting the fans off the seat and then scoring some goals then it's it's real trouble for him
00:40:15and he's got to find some wins and really quickly so it's been a really difficult start to the season
00:40:21for west ham and for graham potter and wools manager vito perera signed a new contract this week
00:40:27despite beginning the season with four straight defeats newly promoted leads have only scored once
00:40:33in their first four tom gale was at molyneux
00:40:38a significant show of faith in vitor perera despite their worst ever start to a season
00:40:43josé saw makes his 150th wolves appearance another new deal dished out this week went to
00:40:49jürgen strand larsen but he's only fit enough to make the bench leads are still yet to score from open
00:40:55play daniel farker was quick to shut down any talk of throwing 16 year old striker harry gray straight in
00:41:02he is though amongst the subs dominic calvert lewin will want to change his record of no goals in
00:41:07seven appearances against wolves
00:41:15cretci goes cross fields fair lopez is unable to bring it down strauch
00:41:23knock a four has to go the long way around ag for doing it is a long way around that big man
00:41:32seems to have lit a fire amongst the wolves supporters that leads champs cretci
00:41:43on his home debut
00:41:46ladder slab cretci gives wolves lift off just the nods from head coach vitor perera but he knows
00:41:56that is a huge goal lovely passing football they cut through leeds united one touch stuff
00:42:04and that is an excellent finish his first goal for his new club
00:42:10and padu
00:42:16chachua good take by lopez quickly surrounded by three in white and leads have the ball back
00:42:26aronsson
00:42:29the american has his first sight of goal
00:42:32there lopez guilty of maybe trying to do too much running straight into trouble there the american
00:42:40who's only ever scored one goal in the premier league
00:42:43who's more than happy to remind doubters that he's still got what it takes
00:43:04to score goals in the premier league just like wolves it's their first effort on target
00:43:12but far more importantly dominic calvert lewin is off the mark in leeds united colors
00:43:18joao gomez long staff quick to close down the space
00:43:30aronsson
00:43:34still going dominant calvert lewin he didn't get the shout from behind but he does get a free kick
00:43:40well is this the experience of dominic calvert lewin he knows the contact's coming
00:43:48he's right in front of anthony taylor
00:43:52goodmanson and stack are the two options here for leeds united
00:43:56it is anton stack
00:44:03that is a banger
00:44:08coming into this weekend no premier league player had more shots
00:44:11and created more chances than the german
00:44:15and perhaps his most difficult effort so far in english football
00:44:18brings about a sensational result the visitors have come from behind
00:44:30stack
00:44:33has options left and right up to four
00:44:40what a sensational turnaround in the first half from daniel farker's side
00:44:44a team many questions can they score goals well it's an emphatic answer three in the opening 45 minutes
00:44:55it's careless from wolves agpadu gives the ball away stack finds his man
00:45:03and it's another player who bags their first goal in leeds united colors
00:45:09this time around it's noah okafor
00:45:17he saw pereira admitted pre-match he isn't yet sure what his best starting 11 is a triple change at the
00:45:23break suggests maybe he got the lineup wrong for this one
00:45:28magpadu provides one challenge
00:45:32to chew it is he in behind he's away from goodmanson no spoke too soon
00:45:37good recovery but it is at the expense of a corner
00:45:44bueno it is who comes across to take the left-footed in swinger
00:45:51it's a deep one chihuahua gomez and tipped over by darlo it was minette
00:45:56see you got the final touch
00:45:59that's called all over full stretch
00:46:06totti
00:46:12brave play from the captain
00:46:14trying to drive his team forward agpadu deep cross soccer for a
00:46:18mannese
00:46:23it is straight at karl darlo but the save needed to be made
00:46:30fine stop
00:46:30to chew
00:46:37agpadu
00:46:39goes low that is a teasing ball a nightmare for defenders to deal with
00:46:47any touch from a defender and that's potentially in the back of their own net
00:46:50absolutely shocking if my lip reading is any good
00:47:00stran larson gomez
00:47:03arias can't get there gomez can
00:47:09bueno his cross
00:47:11was met by rocadari but couldn't keep his effort down
00:47:22so wolves become the sixth team to lose their first five games at the start of a premier league
00:47:29season full-time wolves one leads three
00:47:36today we're more effective especially better and then in both box especially in the box of the
00:47:41of the opponent scored three goals especially in the way game it doesn't come around that often
00:47:45for newly promoted sites on this level so pretty happy and delighted and uh precious points for us
00:47:50i think going one nil down and we show great character and and spirit to to turn it around and
00:47:56and once we got a bit of confidence we start to play and then for me today getting that goal it's
00:47:59it's nice to get my first one for the club no one wants to be in the situation but we have nothing
00:48:04no one else and nothing else to complain about only ourselves can't give away those goals we
00:48:08give away and especially not three in the first half we need to be doing better every day from now
00:48:12on and hopefully we can do it otherwise this league is too tough to be playing like this after the goal
00:48:18our goal they start to create some some problems and we were not in in our best level defending in
00:48:26my opinion results dictate your future are you not worried about my future no i don't need to answer
00:48:34because i don't know i'm not worried about my future i'm worried about the results and the
00:48:39results are not going their way they haven't picked up a point yet this season but from leeds
00:48:43point of view it was one goal so far this season and that was a penalty this time around they got
00:48:47the goals they got the win and they did it away from home danny yeah they were they were really
00:48:52clinical and actually looked like a confident side they've had some of these performances since the
00:48:57season started without probably getting the rewards but here is wolves helping them out there was
00:49:02some really poor defending calvert lewin two center halves should have him covered there he's in the
00:49:07middle no pressure on the ball if you play five at the back you've got to get pressure out wide
00:49:12stop the crosses coming in and he just bullies them both the keepers caught in between do i come do or
00:49:17not it's a terrific header from calvert lewin great for him to get his confidence up and relationship
00:49:22with the fans but the mistakes kept coming i mean this just lazy sloppy defending silly free kick
00:49:29giveaway from i think it was cretie on calvert lewin when the free kick there you're always
00:49:35you're always going to give up give chances i should say but the keeper if he just steps a yard
00:49:42and sticks to his side it's a super strike from stack but the goal shouldn't go in when it's the
00:49:49keeper's side he's just got to position himself better that shouldn't be going in there although it
00:49:54is a technically really good strike and this is it's just sloppy it's just basic play and then
00:50:00leads again really clinical clinical nice and positive timing of the pass good finish
00:50:09from okafor and that was it i mean three goals in 40 minutes what a fantastic period in the game for
00:50:15them to then go on and get their first points on the road but wolves really are causing their own
00:50:21problems at times with their mistakes and naivety and defending and pereira said he's not worried
00:50:26about his future they've just given him a new contract so you can understand why he would say
00:50:30that there's obviously a lot of goodwill from from last season the job he did then but it's been
00:50:36so tough for wolves how and what are the signs that they can turn it around this season yeah well
00:50:41i think we've seen um the contracts don't mean mean that much nowadays but no listen there will be
00:50:47pressure of course they've they've played they've got no points in the first five games and um just
00:50:51clearly like confidence there within the team and obviously they lost cunyre stran larson has been
00:50:56out injured um so they need him back quick um and they've got quite a few new players in there so
00:51:01um i think there will be pressure i think the fans will will will force that pressure if they if
00:51:05they don't pick up points soon and um but yeah they need to start picking up points and and
00:51:11trying to get to get the season started yeah but worrying times for wolves at the moment there are
00:51:16three games on tomorrow's match of the day
00:51:21alex scott puts the cherries in front that is just the right way to please your new fan base
00:51:28the light at the stadium of life lovely take by rogers he's in he scores what a goal by martin
00:51:35jubimendi so so city and harlem

00:52:15today they travel to brighton jonathan pierce was at the amex this is the first test then of
00:52:22tottenham's strength to deal with the champions league and premier league after their testing home
00:52:27victory over velareal on tuesday brighton will be the more rested team are unbeaten at home in six
00:52:32games and did the double over spurs last season the home side make four changes from defeat at
00:52:38bournemouth two enforced caddyoglu starts a league game for the first time since november with de copa
00:52:43injured and aieri replaces hincherwood who was also injured at the fatality but labour is preferred to
00:52:49milner and gruda to welbeck they might employ two false nines as they did in the victory at spurs
00:52:55in the last day of last season there are four tottenham changes from the league win at west ham
00:53:00udogi starting for the first time this season bentan curry charleson and udderberg come in
00:53:06saw simon's spence and tail go to the bench william vicario the goalkeeper starts
00:53:19oh good run to the dead ball line pulls it back and brian got away with it
00:53:24bergval came in the boggy started it brighton ball watching midi port lunging challenge risk
00:53:34and away by van hecke in the end thomas frank good start as the tottenham head coach four wins from
00:53:42his opening six games
00:53:47what about
00:53:52one back by minty for uh brighton
00:53:57here's brian gruda and now this is a chance for brian first chance of the game they've got minty
00:54:04directly in on goal around the goalkeeper and brightner ahead against the runner play from the
00:54:09opening seven minutes suddenly they broke out and jankuba minty scores his first in the campaign
00:54:16lovely ball through to him by the alert jorginho ruta
00:54:22tottenham couldn't live with him that high line exposed by his pace and he touched it in neatly
00:54:30and he was just on site bar completed very quickly and brightner ahead
00:54:36it's the first away goal they've conceded in the premier league this campaign
00:54:41just that one defeat under thomas frank so far came against bournemouth at home they've won at
00:54:46manchester city in west ham and charleson and van hecke together as charleson has stayed down
00:54:53here's bergval blocked by dunk one back now by mitoma
00:54:56they've given the ball away in the end
00:55:05bergval that's pretty poor straight to ayari oh it's a terrific goal
00:55:13right in the tunnel up well moments ago they squandered opportunities where they could have shot
00:55:20he had one thing in his mind yassi nayari that's a beautiful second goal for brighton swerving beyond vicario
00:55:30what a terrific goal half an hour play brighton two tottenham nil and all the while
00:55:37richarlison was down as brighton built up but tottenham had richarlison down all the way through
00:55:42that build-up and they'll look at this challenge here and they won't be happy with that but the referee
00:55:47allowed it to go on it's been checked by var none of them saw anything wrong with it and it's 2-0
00:55:53brighton intense conversations in the tottenham technical area
00:56:01van hecke for brighton hovarbi belaba bit sluggish won the ball back ayari he took a chance and has
00:56:09given it away and brighton are taking chances now they opened up a gate here for tottenham to crash
00:56:13through and get back into the game ben tanker odabaire ben tanker squares it it comes to richarlison
00:56:19and it's in and tottenham are back into the game brighton are complaining about something but they
00:56:26should look to their midfielders who gave the ball away they think there was a handball in the build-up
00:56:29here brighton nothing wrong with the build-up here it's pulled back to ben tanker there's the first shot
00:56:37richarlison on the ground all looks good to me they're just checking to see if there was offside
00:56:43in the build-up and tottenham back in it still trading 2-1
00:56:52kanioglu with the throw it's crept all the way through to gruda
00:56:58still persisting in there georginho fighting for it as well he's pulled it back ayari's arrived
00:57:04brighton's best moment of a poor second half so far mayari arriving void by his first half goal
00:57:18simmons good block by milner
00:57:22and then won that in the air he's a doggy again now simmons will cut in from that side you're rolling
00:57:28another shot at goal and he very nearly equalized it's saved by verbruggan who got down well when
00:57:35you could see that coming a mile out what he was going to do danger signs are flashing for the home side
00:57:47kanioglu beaten by kudas berglas steps over it simmons arrived big chance should have scored
00:57:53had to hit the target from there good build up again created by the run
00:57:57of kudas who's been dangerous all day down the right hand side
00:58:00every time he's taken on kanioglu he's had the beating of him
00:58:09that's misjudged by udogi welbeck holds it up for brighton
00:58:14and milner kanioglu arriving on the left-hand side play through to mitoma he's timed his run well
00:58:19but he's got a very very tight angle here kanioglu arriving
00:58:22he had the chance to settle it there milner with the vision mitoma with the timing of the run
00:58:31he's very very wide karioglu getting up they have to keep their patience top
00:58:37the simmons still going here's kudas bends the cross in it's got in an own goal
00:58:50off john paul van hecker saw the cross coming in late and almost need it beyond his goalkeeper and it's
00:59:00brighton two top and two and it's a deserved equaliser
00:59:05here's kudas checks back has a look
00:59:17re-adjust goes for goal oh it nearly went in off lewis dunce hill i think
00:59:20i think this is our best performance this season um
00:59:25we'll see this as a point well won and they'll to be honest wonder why they haven't had all three
00:59:31from 2-0 down after 30 minutes they've come back to draw 2-2 brighton need to really improve they've
00:59:37not hit the heights of last season or the season before really but tottenham hotspot this was a gritty
00:59:42display and in the end the point they thoroughly deserve brighton two top them two i do think this
00:59:49is our best performance this season um i think overall was it was it uh very good in in many
00:59:54phases we we yeah we gave the two goals away which is one is mistake one you know leave this aside uh
01:00:00besides that defender world aggressive in high pressure uh very good phase one two and three
01:00:05created opportunities and then the mentality and physical look i love that it doesn't feel great
01:00:10it's uh it's a little bit unlucky the the result for us but overall there's a lot of positive things
01:00:15we we did some good steps forward we had a lot of energy on the pitch good intensity so i thought we
01:00:22we did enough to win this game in the end of course sottenham also had chances they created they had a
01:00:27good energy so it was a it was a tough game 50 50 game but like i said we we conceded in the wrong
01:00:33moments in the bad timings the goals and therefore yeah it's only 12 hours you've hit some spectacular
01:00:39goals and how about that one today was that one of your best no it was a good one but not not my best
01:00:46he was swerving though wasn't made it very difficult for the goalkeeper yeah he told me afterwards he was
01:00:50the movement was it was good and yeah i'm happy about to go well look forward to seeing his best
01:00:55when it does arrive because that was a great goal because as far as spurs are concerned they go 2-0 down
01:01:00arguably against the the run of play what did you make of their response to that danny outstanding
01:01:06in so many ways i think one of the he spoke about it there thomas frank but the doggy coming to the
01:01:11team he was terrific he hasn't started but players taking responsibility is what a manager wants to
01:01:17see you're 2-0 down men in the box this is a 2-0 down from 2-0 down still getting men in the box
01:01:23still brave enough to get on the ball and make chances pressing the intensity the uh the attitude is
01:01:29still there to do the job but structured it wasn't chaotic it was really well done and this is uh the
01:01:36goal that they end up getting eventually for richarlison which gave them confidence to get back in the game
01:01:44um second half more of the same bergval with his wonderful physicality i have to say as well this
01:01:50team's so fit so well organized kudos outstanding again causing all sorts of problems simmons came off the
01:01:57bench made a difference nearly moment there but they just kept going and they really limited
01:02:02brighton to very few chances which is difficult to do when you're throwing men forward and really
01:02:07trying to get back in the game again kudos simmons there would should do better with his technical
01:02:13ability paulina doing what i'm talking about the hard yards breaking up play and again players taking
01:02:20responsibility to run at people to beat players to try and make passes that are progressive and
01:02:25forward thinking weak finish from richarlison but in the end you know they they got their
01:02:31rewards and i think on their performance they deserved a win to be honest but they'll they'll be
01:02:35happy with the uh the point after going through behind again working the ball and then putting
01:02:41crosses into the box you've got four men in there again if you keep putting crosses in the box and get
01:02:46men going in with intent you're going to get goals but terrific performance i mean thomas frank
01:02:50suggesting that might be their best performance of the season so far what what can they achieve if
01:02:54they carry on on that trajectory do you think well i think top four has to be their ambition you know
01:03:00you really have to think that because they've got a really good squad now competition for places
01:03:05and capable of winning games against brighton sorry drawing bright and winning at man city away from home
01:03:10is a great start for them now a league cup defeat by swansea on wednesday night made it two defeats in
01:03:17a week for new nottingham forest boss ang postocoglu his side were up against burnley and their formidable
01:03:23home record at turfmoor simon brotherton last week's agonizing defeat to liverpool was burnley's first
01:03:31here at turfmoor in 16 months since nottingham forest were last here on the final day two seasons ago in may
01:03:3920 24. burnley of course to make one change with leslie ugachuk who is suspended following his red card
01:03:45here last weekend florentino who's on loan from benfica makes his first start after coming off the
01:03:51bench last time out murillo misses the match for forest through injury so morato slides across into the
01:03:57middle at the back with olexander zinchenko in at left back douglas louise and dylan bakwa make their
01:04:04first starts in the league since arriving at the club over the summer
01:04:09both teams looking for their second league win of the new season
01:04:16here come nottingham forest on the attack and winning the first corner of the game early on as
01:04:22well with just over a minute played dan and doi on the near side
01:04:32douglas louise sends it across
01:04:35what a start for nottingham forest blasted home by nico williams with less than two minutes play
01:04:43burnley behind already and nico williams scores his first goal since the seven nil win over brighton
01:04:56back in february louise with the corner only half cleared and stopped in by a deflection by the welsh
01:05:05international and burnley who conceded very very late in their last home match concede exceedingly
01:05:13early in this one well just the sort of start that he will have been hoping for particularly
01:05:19given the way things ended during the week in the league cup
01:05:25laurentino sprays it high and long and suddenly hartman has a shot and goal well that outsells
01:05:32scrambling to the near post it's a lovely pass from florentino a quick shot from the boot of the left back
01:05:46hartman's delivery and chowna going for it
01:05:50and it's gone in
01:05:53off olexander sinchenko
01:05:55as he tried to clear it off the line burnley draw level after 20 minutes
01:06:03frustration for the forest defender it's jayden anthony's shot and as it headed towards the goal
01:06:11it was redirected into it the only decision to be made is whether it was goal bound and whether it
01:06:17would be an own goal for olexander zinchenko but jayden anthony claiming the equaliser for burnley
01:06:24zinchenko
01:06:28louise back into anderson collected by gibbs white real threat here bakwa i could say
01:06:34that's a fine start by dobravka lovely play from nottingham forest
01:06:38zinchenko louise anderson gibbs white and then the first time shot is turned around the post
01:06:47forrest looking composed in possession
01:06:49dan and doi up against walker
01:07:01anderson
01:07:01andy milenkovich she'll take the return little ball in chris wood
01:07:06again they very nearly worked their way into a genuine goal scoring opportunity there for a second
01:07:13oh that's more uh scott parker's team competitive in one of their early season matches
01:07:23foster waits in the middle chowna has it josh laurent on the overlap
01:07:29cullen walker free kick fouled by bakwa
01:07:36nottingham forest very much on the back foot as we head for the last minute of the first half
01:07:41everyone back inside their own box for forest
01:07:47chowna strikes it it's a beauty of a free kick and he's really unlucky not to have his first burnley goal
01:07:57still on the attack hartman floats it across esteve
01:08:02foster with the shot deflecting against dylan bakwa
01:08:06a lovely free kick that was forest relieved almost on the stroke of half time that it stays at 1-1
01:08:15at the start of the second half it's still misly and drizzly here in lancashire
01:08:20forward off the boot of ekdal into anthony this is a nice flowing move from the host it's jayden anthony
01:08:31denied by cells chowna able to collect it
01:08:34it was almost an outstanding start to the second half uh bernley
01:08:43zinchenko with the opportunity to clear
01:08:47they only have it back here with jayden anthony across
01:08:50and foster was so close to just turning it home
01:08:53burnley out of the traps very quickly
01:08:59following the restart
01:09:03morato
01:09:06and still williams
01:09:07kalim wendo into anderson whipping it in on the header super save from dubravka
01:09:19and eagle jesus was mighty close to a first premier league goal
01:09:25the brazilians header wonderfully saved by martin dubravka
01:09:29ibrahim sangari
01:09:34gibbs white forest sensing an opportunity following the changes that they've made
01:09:40jesus waits in the middle and it's beyond the brazilian and met by nico williams who's denied by dubravka
01:09:48another superb stop by burnley's goalkeeper that's two in relatively quick succession
01:09:55to deny jesus and also williams forrest pushing hard for a winner here
01:10:04sent on its way by matt cells here's gibbs white and it's a comfortable save
01:10:10and that was the last action of the game
01:10:13it's a hard for point for both of them the full-time score at turf moore burnley one nottingham forest one
01:10:20i think the point's probably fair enough i think both teams um jabbed their way through the game
01:10:25at times and was looking for a knockout punch and um i think over the course of the game today we have
01:10:30some very good chances and i think forest have some as well and i think the point's a fair result
01:10:36i thought we controlled the game really well we had a couple of sort of sloppy moments which
01:10:40just allows them to sort of get a bit of traction in the game um but you know we we handled it really
01:10:47really well um either side of sort of the goal um and i thought second half like i said we uh we
01:10:53certainly create enough chances to win the game we've been hugely competitive we need to maintain
01:10:56that and i'm i'm always conscious of that really there's some fundamentals in this group and
01:11:01fundamentals in us as a team that give us that opportunity and we we need to maintain that from
01:11:06seven days ago when we played arsenal and i know it's a different opponent but we're looking at a
01:11:10different team and that's what i wanted to see um you know we saw elements of that on wednesday
01:11:14night as well and um and you know that's great for me because it means the players are sort of
01:11:19responding and you know to what we wanted to do and if we keep making that kind of progress um
01:11:24you know the results will follow well it was another point for for burnley at turf moore chances for
01:11:31both sides in that one to go on and and win it but angi pasta cobbler made the point there
01:11:35the arsenal game was very early in in his time and and it was always going to be a difficult game for for
01:11:40forest then there were 10 changes for the game in midweek in the cup so what did you make of of this
01:11:46version of nottingham forest under poster cobbler i i think we've seen and just philosophy here um
01:11:53and how he wants to play and the players have took it in quite quickly i was impressed with
01:11:56nottingham forest today at all the rotation between gibbs white and douglas louise and and anderson
01:12:02and zinchenko him just picking up random positions really and but forrest were committing players
01:12:08forward um again now counter pressing anderson going in with the ball back and then they're on
01:12:14the front foot trying to to go forward and create chances it doesn't pay off this time but then
01:12:20again here we look the rotation what they've done a lot was was different players were filling in
01:12:25different positions and and zinchenko again from left back going in now he's on the top line
01:12:30making the running behind um and again counter pressing but then again if you look the position
01:12:39to pick up the pockets and behind the midfield being difficult to pick up and if you look here
01:12:44this is typical and shame six players on the on the top line and it's important from behind
01:12:50zinchenko again picking up positions which was very difficult for burnley players to pick them up
01:12:54douglas louise making a good running behind which creates the space for zinchenko to get turned
01:13:01and then this is lovely play one touch football one touch one touch again takes a touch and back
01:13:07out with a good attempt and really good save from the goalkeeper and then again here anderson playing
01:13:14it off and then if you look at the amount of bodies the forest have put forward now players but this is
01:13:20with angie this is what you get where burnley are very dangerous on the counter-attack if they
01:13:24nick the ball here but they don't they go through and it's a really good chance for chris wood and
01:13:29he should finish it really but i think andrew will be really really happy with the progress he has
01:13:33in that picture though doesn't he doesn't but i think he will be really happy with the progress he's
01:13:38seen him disappointed to lose to swante but the progress he's seen from from the arsenal game i think
01:13:43he'll be really pleased with that yeah really good performance from them but the points were shared and it
01:13:49was a west london derby in the day's late game as brentford made the short trip to fulham your
01:13:54commentator is martin fisher the table bedfellows last season these london neighbors have both made
01:14:04steady starts to the new campaign beginning the day 11th and 12th in the table fulham unchanged harry wilson
01:14:13starting then after his heroics as a sub in this fixture last season surprisingly perhaps brazilian
01:14:20kevin begins the night on the bench after his lively cameo a week ago brentford make one change from last
01:14:28week's draw with chelsea michael damsgard returning and replacing fellow dane matthias jensen jordan
01:14:35henderson makes his 500th league appearance nine minutes in and brentford about to unleash their third
01:14:46long throw of the evening fulham have been working hard on defending these all week and they just about
01:14:52got away with that it almost went all the way through might have taken a couple of flicks on its
01:14:56way through and it evaded the grasp of bent leno it would have been a goal of course just closed his
01:15:02legs at the absolute precise moment brentford have lost both of their away matches so far king oh
01:15:12careless straight to damsgard what a chance for brentford and damsgard slops it home
01:15:17oh it's a horror moment for josh king and understandably all of his teammates so so quick
01:15:26to get around the teenager we've seen him knock a few early passes like that throughout the evening
01:15:33already this time straight to damsgard and on his return to the first team in the premier league
01:15:39the dane was not going to miss that chance
01:15:45anderson for lukic that's loose this time it's sharder who looks to profit force wide by bassy
01:15:51force very wide and the chance is gone good defending by bassy
01:15:58more careless work with the ball by fulham this time it's lukic who's the guilty man
01:16:05but uh unlike damsgard before him sharder couldn't capitalize to the max
01:16:12it's it won't be far side
01:16:16tete
01:16:18lukic
01:16:22oh that's awkward collins can't get it away it's it won't be
01:16:26it's just as the ball is locked it in here the deflection took weight off it but it was swirling
01:16:41very awkwardly for collins and then the ricochet bounce so invitingly for iwobi
01:16:47fulham have an equalizer before the break
01:16:50and here's munoz and he's got a wovie again to his left hand side he won't be looking for wilson
01:17:00what a glorious finish from the man who wrote his name all over this fixture last season
01:17:12came off the bench to score twice and out of time in that one
01:17:15well he's finished that one with so much poise
01:17:22it's all gone horribly wrong for brentford in the space of 90 seconds
01:17:27and the whole atmosphere around craven cottage has changed as has his mood big time
01:17:37king
01:17:38goes down under the challenge of henderson
01:17:41and he's going to be booked for simulation
01:17:45i think a lot inside the stadium thought that this might be given as a penalty
01:17:50this night from a personal point of view is not getting that much better is it gave away the goal
01:17:54and now he's been yellow carded
01:17:55and it's in the back of his own goal and it's three one fuller
01:18:20and for the second successive week a visiting player has put through his own goal
01:18:28at the hammersmith end at craven cottage
01:18:31well there's no doubt about it it's a quality ball in from ryan sessignon
01:18:36it was just a bit too strong for munoz and pinnick just trying to get his head out of the way
01:18:42that's off his shoulder isn't it a horror moment for pinnick
01:18:46and now daylight between philip and their west london neighbours
01:18:54well they never scored more than three last season and they only scored three on four occasions in the
01:18:59premier league
01:19:01collins goes down as wilson helps it on bounces invitingly for munoz and what a finish
01:19:07what a hit that was by rodrigo muniz
01:19:17brentford players have surrounded michael oliver they feel in the build-up that nathan collins was
01:19:23taken out of the game you can see blood pouring from a mouth wound
01:19:27bar obviously will check meanwhile fulham celebrate what they hope will be their fourth goal of the evening
01:19:36well that's how it happened is it intentional is it accidental it certainly took collins out of the game
01:19:45but it doesn't take anything away from the quality of that hit by the big brazilian
01:19:50and michael oliver has been directed by the var jared gillett to come across to the pitch side monitor to
01:20:01to have a closer look at that incident it's the right elbow there of munoz that clatters into collins face
01:20:09after review fulham number nine makes no contact with them all and catches his opponent in the face with his arm
01:20:19the final decision is direct free kick to brentford
01:20:22no one's not going to count
01:20:24quite possibly his best goal for fulham he's scrubbed out
01:20:30two wins in a row for fulfillment something they only managed twice throughout last season
01:20:36two in a row is very very um good feeling for us and very difficult to achieve and and and the feeling
01:20:44is is top um well deserved that is the the the main thing i think clear we're the best team on the
01:20:50on the pitch from the first minute until the the last one the performance overall was a little bit
01:20:55disjointed certainly with the ball and that lacked that little bit of quality at times where we got into
01:21:01good areas whether that was one we won that final pass that final little bit of quality was just
01:21:06lacking proud of the players is and make the fans to feel and to have a better weekend is always what
01:21:12we want and then it's because that we work so hard and more three points and we have to move on
01:21:18danny they did work hard and they got a lot of joy down the left they did there was lots of quality um
01:21:23he'll be especially pleased after coming back from a goal down played with some confidence
01:21:28and assessing yoni wobe down the left-hand side caused all sorts of problems to brentford the
01:21:32majority of the attacks were down this way but a lot a lot of confidence in this fulham side they
01:21:37play some really good football um they're all happy to have the ball and they commit men forward
01:21:43and then when this does drop to wobe technically really good finish really confident finish and uh
01:21:49that gave them then the confidence and the impetus to really go after brentford and cause them more
01:21:54problems i mean this you can see the two boys at the top of your screen again willing to go forward
01:22:00but he doesn't use him this time that is a exquisite little pass and we know what a great finisher uh
01:22:06harry wilson is and he loves playing against brentford and this is session in the second half whipping
01:22:11in another great ball and he did many of them today and gets the own god but lots lots to be uh
01:22:17pleased for from marco silver from his team's performance so many good aspects quick word on
01:22:22brentford wayne man united manchester city and liverpool at home three of their next four
01:22:27matches it's going to be a tough run yeah i'm a bit concerned for brentford i think um obviously using
01:22:33losing thomas frank um is a big factor in that and then they've lost some big players as well and
01:22:38i think with the promoter teams who've come up as well they're all doing okay and um so i think it's
01:22:42going to be a long haul old season for brentford and um i've got what he says they possibly could go down
01:22:48yeah tricky transition series a season for brentford and they'll be hoping that they can
01:22:53maintain their premier league status talking of which let's take a look at the premier league table
01:22:58liverpool continue their perfect start after making it five wins from five in the merseyside derby
01:23:04crystal palace clan to fourth after extending their unbeaten run to 17 games in all competitions
01:23:10wolves begin the campaign with five defeats for the first time in their league history west ham lose
01:23:16their opening three home games for the second successive season thank you very much to wayne
01:23:23and to danny for your company it's been a mixed day for you two but liverpool get their kicks and for
01:23:29now at least the city is theirs good night
01:23:46so
01:23:55you
