00:00We'll see you next time.
03:02Each day holds space for wisdom, clarity, and real conversation.
03:06So grab your journal, pour your glass, and prepare to go beyond the surface.
03:10Because here, we don't just talk, we transform.
03:15And now, here's your guide through it all, entrepreneur, mentor, and founder of Black Diamond Consultations, Laren Gaines.
03:23What's going on?
03:24What's going on?
03:25Welcome, welcome, welcome on in to the 411 Podcast.
03:31This is Coaching Sessions Thursday.
03:34Today, we are kicking this thing off, Dis 6 Vitality, Episode 5, Discipline Isn't Punishment.
03:46So, of course, you know, we speak debt-free living here on the 411 Podcast and Reading Between the Wines, helping you break through with everyday, real-life conversations.
04:01That's what we're here to do.
04:04So let's go ahead and get this thing started.
04:06And before we kick this thing off and continue down this road, I want to go ahead and give a very special thank you to my executive producer, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
04:20Thank you so much for giving me another opportunity to come out here and do the 411 Podcast.
04:26And I also want to thank each and every one of you out there.
04:30Thank you all so much for checking out the new podcast series.
04:36I appreciate that.
04:37For those of you out there who tuned in on the season premiere night, thank you so much.
04:46Please do me a favor if you're out there.
04:49Please like, comment, share, subscribe, tag a friend, text a friend.
04:54Put it in the comments.
04:55Let me know where you are calling from, where you're chilling from, what you're doing.
05:01Holla at me.
05:02Let me know what's going on.
05:07Track five, Discipline Isn't Punishment.
05:11Song of the Day, The Light by Common.
05:16And I loved this record when I first heard it in 2000.
05:21And of course, you have the elements of Stevie Wonder.
05:27And what I love with the chorus part, you know, the Stevie part is, I'm going to do this some justice here.
05:39There are times when you need someone.
05:43And Stevie's basically saying, I will be by your side.
05:48And there is a light that shines special for you and me.
05:52But, you know, we remix it here.
05:56And instead of waiting for somebody else to be the light, instead of someone else shining a light on your situation, on your situation.
06:06I'm so still on that Encourage Yourself movement.
06:12Sometimes you have to be your own light.
06:14Because you can't always rely on somebody to be the light there for you.
06:20So, as we remix this thing, you are the light.
06:25You have to be your own light.
06:28And of course, if somebody wants to join in on a party and want to go ahead and brighten up your situation a little bit more.
06:34But please, make sure that you have enough light within you to shine all over your situation.
06:42Because you have to do it first.
06:44And you can't rely on somebody else to do it for you.
06:47And there are times when we may not want to do it.
06:52We may not want to.
06:54We might think that our light is a little dim.
06:57It's not on point like we want it to be.
07:01But that's where discipline comes in.
07:05That's where consistency comes in.
07:07And that's what we're going to speak about here tonight.
07:10Of course, you know, kicking this thing off in 2026.
07:15Coming fresh off of the holidays.
07:17And I'm going to make sure that I keep this on the forefront.
07:19Because I do know that this is a time where people struggle the most with discipline and consistency and getting back on track after what we've been through.
07:30So we're going to speak about budgeting, of course.
07:33That's so important.
07:34And that's so key in this debt-free living process.
07:38And aligning our lifestyle.
07:41Adjusting our lifestyle.
07:44We may not be where we want to be today.
07:47But what are we going to do to adjust our lifestyle to make sure that we hit our target goals?
07:55And it's so important with consistency.
07:58And consistency matters more than intensity when rebuilding your financial order.
08:05Now, we're going to help out Miss Nicole from Arizona.
08:10And Nicole writes,
08:12I keep waiting to feel ready.
08:18Ready to budget.
08:19Ready to say no.
08:21Ready to live smaller for a while.
08:23But that feeling never comes.
08:25What comes instead is guilt.
08:28Then another swipe.
08:29Then another promise I don't keep.
08:31I've tried starting over more times than I can count.
08:35New planners.
08:35New apps.
08:36New systems.
08:37I go hard for two weeks.
08:39Sometimes three.
08:40Then life happens.
08:41A bad day at work.
08:43A fight with my sister.
08:45A night where I don't even want to be strong anymore.
08:48That's usually when I spend.
08:52Not on anything wild.
08:53Just little things that make me feel like myself again.
08:57Clothes.
08:58Take out.
08:59Home decor that I don't need.
09:01I know discipline is supposed to help.
09:03But it feels like punishment.
09:05Like I'm being asked to give up everything that makes life bearable.
09:10What I really want is relief.
09:13Not from responsibility.
09:14But from the shame.
09:16I've tried starting over.
09:19And I'm tired of taking myself up.
09:23Excuse me.
09:23I'm tired of talking myself up.
09:27Just to let myself down again.
09:29How do you build discipline without turning your life into something you resent?
09:33That is so important.
09:36And we are going to help out Miss Nicole.
09:40But before I go ahead and give my response.
09:45Please know that I am a financial coach.
09:48I am not a financial advisor.
09:50I am not a financial planner.
09:52Please make sure that you do your own due diligence.
09:54I'm just speaking from real life experiences.
09:56In most cases.
09:59My life experiences.
10:01So.
10:02This is what I would do.
10:04In my opinion.
10:06This is not necessarily.
10:08The blueprint of what you should do.
10:10You have to make sure you do your own due diligence.
10:12Your own research.
10:15And let's get right on into this thing here.
10:17This is so important.
10:21Because when we are on this debt-free journey.
10:23This debt-free living journey.
10:26When you're not used to it.
10:29It could sometimes feel like punishment.
10:31And this is where you have to make sure that you.
10:36Stick close to people who can support you.
10:39You need a great support system.
10:40Remember you're on average of.
10:44You are only an average of the five closest people.
10:47That you surround yourself with.
10:48So if you are trying to get your life together.
10:50But you surround yourself with people.
10:52Who are not aligned properly.
10:55With the debt-free living philosophy.
10:58It could be a struggle for you.
11:04Now you says.
11:05I keep waiting to feel ready.
11:10Waiting to feel ready.
11:14That could be an issue.
11:15Depending on how far you're in debt.
11:21Because I'm not sure.
11:23That that moment really comes where we're really ready.
11:28I know that point might come where you're sick and tired of being sick and tired.
11:32And you don't want to do this again.
11:34Maybe that's the same thing you're speaking about.
11:36Only thing that I can say for people who are out there.
11:41Excuse me one second.
11:47The only thing that I can say is for people who are out there.
11:52That.
11:55Say that they want to feel ready.
11:57Or they're not sure when they're ready.
12:00The only thing that I can say.
12:01And I know this might sound weird.
12:03Is to just keep on doing the same thing that you're doing.
12:05And I don't know if this is the best advice.
12:11But I would say just keep doing the same thing that you're doing.
12:15The downside about it is that you're going to still continuously dig yourself a deeper hole.
12:20Which isn't good.
12:21That's why I'm saying that.
12:23I'm not quite sure that this is the best.
12:26I'm not here to give you any advice.
12:28But keep doing the same thing that you're doing.
12:31Eventually you're going to get sick and tired of it.
12:34But.
12:36On the flip side of it.
12:38Let's hope that you get sick and tired of it.
12:42In a timely fashion.
12:44Because the more that you stay stuck.
12:45The more that you stay down.
12:46The longer it is going to be for you to be able to get up out of this situation.
12:49You said you want to feel ready to budget.
12:53Ready to say no.
12:55Ready to live smaller for a while.
12:57But that never comes.
13:00What comes instead is guilt.
13:02And then because you're guilty from what you're doing to yourself.
13:07You just continue to stay in, you know, whatever situation you're in and continue to swipe and continue to make another promise and continue to say that you're not going to do it again.
13:17But then you end up doing it again.
13:18This is a prime scenario of you have to wait until you get good and sick and tired of yourself.
13:25Because when you're good and sick and tired of yourself.
13:28You will do whatever is possible to make sure that you get up out of that situation and stay out of that situation.
13:36So I get it.
13:39Because I've been there before.
13:40And it's not just with, you know, the financial aspect of it.
13:44It could flow into relationships.
13:46It can flow into.
13:47I want to get out of this job.
13:49I can't stand my boss.
13:51But, oh, maybe I'll just go ahead and give her the benefit of the doubt.
13:55And then, you know, she will be nice for a couple days.
13:59And then a week later, she cuts up.
14:02And then you're sitting here beating yourself up again and saying, you know what?
14:07Last week, when we were ready to fill out the applications last week, when we were ready to go on the job interviews, we should have just went ahead and did it.
14:15But yet you fell into the trap again of thinking that this boss is not going to go ahead and show you their ugly colors again.
14:22And then this is where I take it back to day one.
14:25When people show you who they are, we ought to believe them the first time, not the second, third, fourth, and fifth.
14:31And on that note, while we're there, we can say that with ourselves.
14:37Because you have to know yourself more than anybody.
14:40You know yourself more than anybody else do.
14:43So you got to get good and sick and tired of yourself.
14:47Sick and tired of being sick and tired of when you know who you are.
14:50You know exactly who you are.
14:52You know what your patterns are.
14:53You know what you're used to doing.
14:55You know what's comfortable for you.
14:57You know the patterns.
14:59You know the situations.
15:00And then this is where you have to kick it into gear and say, okay, now this is a game of defeat and self.
15:06I don't have to worry about people on the street.
15:09I don't have to worry about anything, anybody, except on making sure that I'm going to be about what's yesterday.
15:16You said you tried starting over more times than you can count new planners, new apps, new systems.
15:24You go hard for two or three weeks and then something happens.
15:27Life happens.
15:29You had a bad day at work.
15:30You have issues with family.
15:31A night where you just don't want to be strong anymore and then you just fall into the trap of spending.
15:38This is where I'm talking about.
15:44I believe that this journey, when it comes to debt-free living, and not even just debt-free living, this could be just anything.
15:53When it comes to wanting to do better, they always say, when you know better, you do better.
16:00But is that really the case?
16:02Because sometimes we know better, but we still don't do better.
16:05Not right away.
16:10And we get to where we are here.
16:15January.
16:16New year.
16:17New you.
16:18And we sign up for the gym memberships.
16:24We get the new apps, the new planners, the new systems.
16:28And then we don't stick to it.
16:31And you know the song by Donnie McCurklin.
16:37We fall down, but we get up.
16:43He said something so profound.
16:45I think it was on a reprised version, the live version.
16:50And he's breaking down the Proverbs.
16:55And again, I don't want to quote this scripture.
16:59Because I don't know the exact one.
17:02I'm still a work in progress.
17:04But somewhere along the lines that a righteous man will fall down seven times.
17:10I'm sure y'all have heard that.
17:13And again, I know I might be off with it.
17:19But basically, the way he broke it down, it just was so.
17:24It was so just I can't even think of the right word to describe it, but.
17:30It was really on point.
17:34Because he said, even though.
17:38The righteous man fell down seven times.
17:43I don't know.
17:44It might have been something seven times seven.
17:46Seven times 70.
17:48He has sense enough to get back up.
17:55Ugh, when I heard that part, it just came full circle.
17:59He has sense enough to get back up.
18:02So that was so powerful, even from my life.
18:04Even in my situations when I have felt, you know, fell short.
18:08But you got to have sense enough to get back up again.
18:15You don't have to stay stuck.
18:17You don't have to stay down.
18:19The fact that you are able to open up your eyes and take a breath the next day.
18:24Let's you know that you've already won the battle.
18:27But see, because what happened yesterday.
18:30What happened just two seconds ago.
18:33It's done.
18:34You have to focus on the present moment and focus on seeing a beautiful, a bright and beautiful future.
18:41And you can't stay stuck in the past.
18:43Yes, we've made mistakes.
18:45Yes, we've done things wrong.
18:46Yes, that relationship didn't work.
18:48Yes, you might have had an issue with somebody on your job.
18:52I get that.
18:53But that is in the past and it continues to fall away.
18:58Second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, week by week, month by week.
19:04Month by month, year by year.
19:07We can't stay stuck in the past.
19:11So I get that you've tried all of the apps and the planners and this and you went hard and you gym memberships and all of that.
19:19So I get back up again.
19:28Discipline yourself.
19:30And when you are on a good streak, you said you go hard for two or three weeks.
19:36Reward yourself.
19:37Encourage yourself.
19:40Discipline yourself.
19:42When things are going good, this is when we have to be very on point and we can't get cocky.
19:47We can't get too full of ourselves because with pride, first comes pride, then comes destruction.
19:54We can't.
19:54And we have to be very careful with what we are saying, what we are speaking over our lives, what we are sharing with people.
20:06Because you can speak blessings or you can speak a curse over your life.
20:11So when you are doing well, I believe that's the point where you have to be even more careful and you have to be even more disciplined to make sure that you stay on track.
20:23And you said that when you, there are some times where you don't want to be strong anymore.
20:33Whenever you have that moment where you feel that you don't want to be strong anymore and you feel like you might want to give up.
20:39That's the time where you need to get into some real hardcore discipline prayer.
20:47You need to look at all of the distractions that are around you.
20:51You need to unplug, unplug from whatever you are plugged into and attached to and take some time to look at your life.
21:04I was just thinking about how things were so intense for me a few weeks ago, you know, doing stuff or, you know, this situation, other obligations that I have outside of.
21:21Black Diamond Consultations, some that we love, others we don't.
21:25It's just, you know, temporary for the moment.
21:30But things that are outside of Black Diamond Consultations.
21:33It does something when it starts to consume and take up a lot of my time where I don't want anything to compete with Black Diamond Consultations.
21:46Like this is, you know, what I do.
21:51This is what God has put me here to do.
21:53So, this is my, you know, my main thing here.
22:00Everything else, you know, it's secondary.
22:08But I see how we have to be very careful.
22:15And this is, you know, me speaking to myself with the attachments and the commitments that I make.
22:21Because the minute that it starts to pull away from this joint right here, I feel a certain way.
22:31So, when you don't want to be strong anymore and you're pulling away from what you know is right to do, that's when I would say you might need to start to look what you have yourself attached to, what commitments you have signed up for, what you agreed, the contracts.
22:53For me, for me, less is more today.
22:56I don't need all of that.
22:58I don't want all of that.
23:05And you spend and you spend and you say it's not on anything wild.
23:10Things that just make you feel like yourself again.
23:12This is an issue.
23:13When we think that clothes, people, money, materialistic things, taking vacations, trips, and all of these things are going to make us feel a certain way about ourselves.
23:35That's very temporary.
23:38You can dress it up all you want.
23:45Mary J. Blige has a song called Whole Damn Year.
23:51And she says, yes, I look good on the surface, but I'm a mess.
23:55I'm a mess underneath.
23:56All that clothes, makeup, jewelry, and all that stuff.
23:59If you haven't centered yourself and looked within, because everything starts with self.
24:06If you haven't centered yourself and you haven't looked within and you haven't done your work, all those clothes, jewelry, makeup, all of that stuff is going to just be very temporary.
24:17And you can dress it up and you can look good on the surface, but still be a mess underneath.
24:22The takeout, ordering food, all of that stuff.
24:31Temporary.
24:33What do you feel like after you eat the food?
24:36What do you feel like after you get home and get behind closed doors and it's just you?
24:39What do you feel like after you went out there and spent money and flexed and act like you had it when you really didn't and then the bill is showing up in the mail?
24:53What do you feel like after you go ahead and you sign that new lease agreement just so you can pull up to work and have a new car just like everybody else to keep up with the Joneses?
25:14I know I've been there and done that before struggling to make a payment because you're worried about what somebody thinks about you with the car you pull up in a parking lot.
25:27He said, I know discipline is supposed to help, but it feels like punishment.
25:34Nobody ever said that this whole process here was going to be easy.
25:38Nobody ever said that this process here was ever going to be easy.
25:46It is not for everybody.
25:48And in fact, so many people come to me and they ask for advice, debt-free living, and can't give you any advice.
26:03But one thing that I can tell you is that this is not for everyone.
26:10If you are not good and sick and tired of your current situation, if you feel that you still want to go ahead and use a credit card, you still care about the clothes, let's just back this up.
26:23You still care about what somebody else thinks about you.
26:25You might have some insecurity, some anxiety, based off of what somebody else thinks about you.
26:36You ain't ready.
26:42In my opinion.
26:45And know that this is not easy.
26:52It can be accomplished.
26:57Many people do it.
26:59I've done it.
27:01I'm still doing it.
27:04But it's not easy.
27:08And think about how long it took you to get into this situation.
27:13How many years were you living incorrectly?
27:17It can be changed.
27:23Neuroplasticity is a thing.
27:26Absolutely.
27:27I'm living proof of that.
27:29You can change that mindset.
27:31You can reprogram yourself.
27:35But just as long as it took you to get into this situation, it's going to take you some time to get out.
27:41It's going to take you some time to reprogram yourself.
27:43It's going to take you some time to pay up that debt.
27:47It's going to take you some time to clean up your environment.
27:51It's going to take you some time to say no when you really wanted to say yes.
27:55You said you want relief.
28:07Not from responsibility, but from the shame.
28:11You're tired of starting over.
28:13You're tired of talking yourself up just to let yourself down again.
28:17It sounds like you are already defeated because tomorrow is another day.
28:26God willing, tomorrow will be another day.
28:29Pick yourself up.
28:30Dust yourself off.
28:32Know that you can get up just like the righteous man.
28:38Have sense enough to get back up and do it again.
28:40But here's the thing.
28:41When we get back up, just start looking forward.
28:44Don't look back.
28:45If you're too busy looking back in a rearview mirror, you can't see where you're going.
28:53And when you get good and sick and tired of your situation, and you've hit rock bottom, and you've humiliated yourself, you've embarrassed yourself, you've got yourself into so much debt that it's like, hey, what else do you want me to do?
29:09I'm here now?
29:11I did this.
29:13Can't stand it.
29:14Worn out.
29:15I could care less what anybody else thinks about me because I'm going to drive whatever I drive.
29:19I'm going to turn this in.
29:21They can come pick this up.
29:22I'm going to cash this in.
29:24I'm going to sell this.
29:26I'm going to downsize this way.
29:27I'm going to downgrade that way.
29:30I'm going to unfollow.
29:32I'm going to unsubscribe.
29:34I'm not going to go there anymore.
29:35When you get to that point where you really don't care what somebody else thinks about you, you won't be worried about all of this extra stuff.
29:44You won't be letting yourself down.
29:46If anything, you'll be lifting yourself up.
29:48And your main question is, how do you build discipline without turning your life into something you resent?
30:00I look at the end picture.
30:03What I would resent is staying in the same situation that I was in before.
30:07Being in a relationship, being in relationships, staying at jobs that no longer serve me.
30:17That's where the resentment came in for me.
30:19That's where the attitude came in.
30:21That's where the didn't know how to act right came in because I want to be here.
30:28I didn't want this situation.
30:30I mean, I did.
30:31But then when I got it, I didn't want it.
30:33I put myself in this situation because I didn't look at the red flags.
30:38I didn't believe people when they showed me who they were the first time.
30:47That's where the resentment comes in.
30:52Look at where you want to be.
30:55Think of where you want to be six months from now, 12 months from now.
31:03Three years from now.
31:06Think of that.
31:08And look at where you're at here today.
31:10If you want to talk about resentment.
31:16Staying stuck in a situation that no longer serves you is something that I would resent.
31:23There's a lot going on here tonight.
31:26There's a lot.
31:27Spiritually, we need to understand and know who we are.
31:37So we need to start to look at our environment and see what can we call perspective.
31:41Are we living our lives the way God had intended us to?
31:49That's the first step.
31:50And after we clean that up, get back on track, clean up our environment, unsubscribe, unfriend, unfollow certain people that might influence poor decisions.
32:10Then we need to focus on that mindset because the mindset is so important.
32:23The spiritual aspect is number one, because if you don't know who you are, other people will be able to shape you and mold you and turn you into the person that they want you to be.
32:33And then all of a sudden you wake up and realize, what is this?
32:37Who is this person?
32:38I did not sign up for this.
32:40And you want to talk about resentment.
32:43When you wake up and realize that you've been living a lie.
32:47That's not what God has intended for you.
32:54You didn't have enough in you to you just signed up for somebody else's plan.
33:00Focus on the mental.
33:08Change the mental.
33:10Easier said than done.
33:13Look back.
33:16What was your childhood experiences like when it came to money?
33:21Who is the first person that comes to mind that you can think of that taught you about money?
33:33Was that a good example?
33:35How are they living financially today?
33:38How did their story end?
33:43Do you see a correlation?
33:46Or are you following the same patterns?
33:52Whether directly or indirectly.
34:02Before we even get into the physical realm.
34:05I believe we need to just stay focused right there.
34:09For right now.
34:10Because when you don't know who you are.
34:16You got to stay focused on that spiritual aspect.
34:19You got to stay focused on that mental aspect.
34:21Before you start thinking about building any type of wealth.
34:24Or any grand financial decisions or situation.
34:30You got to focus on the spiritual and the mental aspect of it.
34:34Cleaning things up and getting healthy.
34:36Healthy from a spiritual perspective.
34:38Healthy from a mental perspective.
34:41And a lot of times that includes.
34:45Losing some people.
34:47That were never originally destined to go with you in the first place.
34:53Unplugging from situations.
34:55Removing yourself.
34:57Taking responsibility for your life.
34:58And doing something a little bit different.
35:00And this is where this discipline comes in.
35:02And if you feel that it's punishment.
35:04You're not ready.
35:08You're still playing a game.
35:11You're still out in the field.
35:16You're still being drained and depleted.
35:19You haven't gotten to the low level yet.
35:21To where.
35:23The panic button.
35:24Is ready to be hit.
35:26And you need help getting pulled out.
35:34The whole term.
35:38The whole saying of.
35:40How do you build discipline without turning your life into something you resent.
35:45You haven't looked at the end game yet.
35:47You don't know what the end game is for you.
35:49I'm just like.
35:57Wow.
35:59That's a deep.
36:01Bold word.
36:02Resent.
36:07Sounds like you still want to have fun.
36:09Sounds like you still want to.
36:11Because if you're truly tired.
36:19You've really had enough.
36:21I'm not sure that you would resent.
36:24Cleaning your life up.
36:26You would know that spending money.
36:33Recklessly.
36:34Doing things.
36:35Of that nature.
36:37Is not something that you.
36:39Would want to sign up for.
36:40It's not.
36:43Showing good stewardship.
36:47Not being.
36:51Financially responsible.
36:52The life that you're currently living.
36:59Is something.
37:01That you're.
37:02May resent.
37:04If you don't make some.
37:08Quick decisions.
37:12When it comes to.
37:15The spiritual mental.
37:19And I would just say.
37:21Physical and financial aspect.
37:22Of your life.
37:26But it first starts.
37:28In the spiritual realm.
37:30When we're walking around here.
37:36Not knowing who we are.
37:41And if you're walking around.
37:43Not knowing who you are.
37:46Not knowing what you've.
37:47Really been put here to do.
37:49You might still find yourself.
37:52As being a people pleaser.
37:54You might still find yourself.
37:56Agreeing to things.
37:58That you.
37:59May have not.
38:00Really wanted to agree to.
38:01Going places.
38:03Spending recklessly.
38:06Committing yourself.
38:07To relationships that.
38:09And staying in them.
38:10That no longer serve you.
38:11That's a strong indication.
38:13Of a person who does not know.
38:14Who they are.
38:16That's going to be something.
38:18That you resent.
38:19And you may not see it now.
38:23Fast forward.
38:27Fast forward a bit.
38:28That I'm using that word again.
38:33Hope.
38:34Which.
38:34I don't like to use it.
38:38Especially after Dick Gregory.
38:39Going through and.
38:41Saying what he has to say about hope.
38:43But I hope.
38:46That that's not going to be something.
38:48That you resent.
38:50Not making a decision.
38:52Not making a move.
38:53Not getting up and taking responsibility.
38:55For your life.
38:56You staying exactly where you are.
39:00Doing the same thing.
39:01Over and over again.
39:01Expecting different results.
39:03Is a definition of insanity.
39:05You doing that.
39:05Is going to be something.
39:06That you resent.
39:10Yes.
39:10It might be hard.
39:12Yes.
39:12It's a discipline.
39:13Yes.
39:14You might have to do some.
39:15Uncomfortable things.
39:16Yes.
39:16You might.
39:16You know.
39:18Cut back on this.
39:19Don't go here.
39:20Don't go there.
39:21Something that you're not.
39:22Really used to.
39:24Yes.
39:24It's discipline.
39:25But in the long run.
39:27When you see the results.
39:28And you see the end game.
39:30If you're consistent.
39:32And you're on point.
39:34That should never be anything.
39:35That you will resent.
39:38Freedom.
39:39Freedom from the stress.
39:41The debt.
39:42The nonsense.
39:43The drama.
39:44The ability.
39:45To be able to make moves freely.
39:47And buy back your time.
39:48I don't know anybody.
39:52That's going to resent that.
39:54At least.
39:54I don't know them.
39:56There might be people out there.
39:57But.
39:58That's a whole nother story.
39:59That doesn't sound right to me.
40:02So.
40:05In any case.
40:08If you're out there tonight.
40:10Let me know what you think about tonight's assignment.
40:12Please feel free.
40:14To text me.
40:15609-200-1098.
40:18Again.
40:18That number is.
40:19609-200-1098.
40:22That is the official 411 podcast.
40:25Reading Between the Wines hotline.
40:27And tonight.
40:28I have a burning question.
40:29For reflection.
40:30Are you resisting discipline.
40:35Because it restricts you.
40:37Or because it exposes.
40:39Where you've been inconsistent.
40:43Are you resisting discipline.
40:46Because it restricts you.
40:48Or because it exposes.
40:50Where you've been inconsistent.
40:54Sometimes.
40:55We don't want to do the right thing.
41:00Because we haven't built enough.
41:04Muscle.
41:05Enough strength around the thing that we want to do.
41:09Because there's been so many inconsistencies.
41:12And when there is so many inconsistencies.
41:14It will not be like clockwork.
41:16It will not come second nature.
41:17And it may feel like a task.
41:22But when you're consistent.
41:25And you're on point.
41:26And it's clockwork.
41:28And you built the muscle.
41:29Whether it's the mental muscle.
41:33The spiritual muscle.
41:35The physical muscle.
41:36The financial muscle.
41:38It will just become so much like clockwork.
41:41That you won't even have to think.
41:42You'll be able to do it in your sleep.
41:44You'll be able to do it with your eyes closed.
41:45Walking backwards.
41:46Hands tied behind your back.
41:50See if it feels like a task.
41:53If it feels like a job.
41:55If it feels like something that's out of the normal.
41:58It could be because you haven't been consistent enough.
42:04Now I'm not saying that it will not be a task.
42:08It may not be easy peasy.
42:11It might be an uphill battle.
42:12But once you commit to something.
42:14And you're consistent.
42:15And you're on point.
42:17And you're disciplined enough.
42:18And you focus on defeating self.
42:22Because everything starts with self.
42:23You stop looking outside.
42:25You stop looking at other people.
42:26You stop pointing at other people.
42:28And you turn inward.
42:30And you look within self.
42:32Because everything starts with self.
42:34Self.
42:39Man.
42:40Sounds like a plan to me.
42:42Sounds like success to me.
42:48Sounds like it'll end up being easy to me.
42:50I don't know who I'm speaking to.
42:56I'm only speaking from.
42:59Real life experiences.
43:01But if you feel a certain way.
43:03You know something that I don't know.
43:06Because listen.
43:07We all here.
43:08And we can grow together.
43:09And learn together.

43:50Through the spiritual.
43:52Mental.
43:53Physical.
43:54And financial lenses.
43:57I believe.
43:59The first step.
44:00Is focusing on.
44:02The spiritual aspect.
44:03Understanding and knowing who you are.
44:06It's important.
44:09So you can see where you're going.
44:11Know what your purpose is.
44:13Dig deep.
44:16To figure out what your calling is.
44:19From there.
44:21Focus on the mental aspect.
44:23Cleaning up.
44:26Refinishing.
44:27Restoring.
44:29Resurfacing.
44:32The mental aspect.
44:34When it comes to the people.
44:36Places.
44:37Material things.
44:38How are we.
44:39Accepting it.
44:40And processing it.
44:42And working through things.
44:43From a mental aspect.
44:44When it comes to money.
44:50I believe that focusing on the spiritual.
44:52And the mental.
44:53They go hand in hand.
44:55It will automatically.
45:03Make it easier.
45:06When you're showing up in the physical realm.
45:11You should.
45:13Start to look at.
45:15Things differently.
45:16When it comes to how you're showing up.
45:18From in a physical realm.
45:19When it comes to how you're spending your money.
45:21Better food choices.
45:23And if you're doing that.
45:29In a physical realm.
45:34As in taking care of yourself.
45:37Health means wealth.
45:39Take care of your body.
45:40You'll make better financial decisions.
45:42And if you're making better financial decisions.
45:45Because you're getting the rest that you need.
45:47You're able to think properly.
45:51You'll be able to build wealth.
45:53Your financial wellness will grow.
45:58And build.
46:00Over a period of time.
46:03If that is something that you're interested in.
