00:00now it's time that we do after every game cj stroud's grade i see people up and down uh giving

00:06their thoughts on the grade cj c plus he still won the game minus uh the two defensive scores

00:13c minus d plus from bill c minus somebody texting with a complete f um

00:20some people just said i don't even want to grade someone said f negative c minus

00:26i give cj sc minus only because we won and had uh we lost definitely would have been a d minus

00:33they lost i think we i think we see more more other uh letters than that but uh keeps it in

00:39what's your grade for cj stroud in his performance plant you you watch this and i know you look at

00:46it from the eyes of playing the position before in the nfl and in college what did you see well i mean

00:51i look at it from what my expectations are for cj stroud as well and and uh i thought i thought

00:58he fell well below those expectations in my opinion for me so i'm gonna go d plus um i mean yes you did

01:04win uh and yes your team was was absolutely tremendous on third down which ultimately you

01:10know gave you a chance to to keep the ball um it aided in in in extending drives sustaining drives

01:19along with that run game and i gotta give credit where credit's due there were a couple of big

01:23boy throws in there that cj is definitely capable of making um but when it's all said and done the

01:29the negatives for me far outweigh the positives and it starts with not just the turnovers but kind

01:36of how the the the turn turnovers with the uh the interception that was just a i think no it fits

01:43there too like to me watching that game i thought there was for a a big chunk of the game cj stroud was

01:51completely overwhelmed if you want to call the moment too big uh if you want to call you call it

01:56that he's been you know the fit in this offense isn't exactly right he's still struggling with making

02:02the right decisions that they want him to make he's not able to just play free and play with his

02:07instincts i think all those things are true but at the end of the day i think for a huge chunk of the

02:11game cj was overwhelmed um dropping snaps uh obviously picking up those dropped snaps and

02:20making a bad play even worse within fumbling the football i think there were times where he was

02:25just in the pocket instead of getting through a progression and taking off running or getting

02:29through a progression and throwing it away it was these happy feet this panic looking situation

02:34that was obviously um i think cj's got to be beyond that at this point in time and i think he's got to

02:41be beyond that for this team to to make a four game run in the playoffs and win a super bowl this

02:45year uh so that overall number one number two the turnovers where they happen um i mean the turnovers

02:52didn't end up hurting you as bad as they could have but if you look at it i mean the two first half

02:58fumbles the only reason we're not talking about them or they didn't they didn't cause more problems

03:04it's because the defense turned around and gave up in 10 plays gave up nine yards and one field goal

03:09so the defense bailed you out on those you look at the interception and the interception happened when

03:15you had points uh at least the field goal at that point in time i mean so i think those things far

03:21outweigh the positives because you look up and there were a couple of big boy throws over the top throws

03:27there were a couple of key throws that cj made i just expect cj to make those in his sleep um and

03:34and and when you take all that ron and i go okay now what does my grading skill look like okay

03:40i don't grade like let's say cj stroud and caleb williams the same caleb williams exist in an offense

03:50that they're just going to dial up shots after it's going to be low percentage it's going to be low

03:55percentage it's going to be high risk high reward and that's how he's playing and i think to a

04:01certain degree how ben johnson is okay with him playing right you look at cj stroud we're grading

04:06cj stroud on an efficiency scale right i know being harped and and you know all year long and and i know

04:17what he's being asked to do is be efficient be cool calm collected make the right decision don't turn

04:23the football over don't hold the football right and and all now when you look at that being what's

04:29been preached to him and kind of what his every week he goes out there that's what his test looks

04:34like i think he struggled mightily this week i i think i think he answered on that test i'm talking

04:41about i think he answered a couple of really really difficult questions that maybe got him some

04:45additional points but when it came to the majority of the questions the simple questions the layups and

04:50free throws i thought he struggled i thought he struggled in a big way so um i'll go i'm going

04:56d plus for cj stroud d plus for cj stroud text in what was your grade for cj stroud tyler's wife megan

05:05uh she chimes in with the c c minus c plus c plus c plus tyler what was your grade i never hear yours

05:14what was your grade i can't give cj a passing grade with five fumbles man hate to say it but

05:20i went d somebody just texted in so you went d lint said a d plus yeah i i'm at a d as well um

05:28you know what they did on third down and i think he was a lot of that um i is the only reason why i think

05:37i'm not in an f yep yeah right i mean i i i think the honest statement from the game is

05:46the texans played pretty good everywhere except quarterback their offensive line played pretty

05:54well they ran the ball the running backs ran the ball well the receivers did pretty good everything

06:01on the defense was good fairbairn kicked a long field goal in that stadium did good tommy towns

06:07and drove somebody back he had a rough punt too but he had everybody everything went pretty well for

06:14the texans last night except for their quarterback that interception is unacceptable all right jack

06:20sawyer hit you you're trying to get the ball down the field hit you probably you probably could feel

06:26the pressure around you at that point as soon as woody tossed it back on that flea flicker

06:32like you could probably see that the pressure was around you maybe you just you just protect the ball

06:37and go down but that that interception was pathetic i i i just there's just like why

06:45what like why why there's just no reason just no reason the only way that the steelers were gonna

06:53have a chance if you helped them and he repeatedly helped them and and to me it and to me this is and

07:00i and hopefully maybe throughout the week we could discuss this because i i don't know there it was more

07:06than just the turnovers like i saw some people say yeah he had some turnovers but other than that no

07:12like he just air milled guys or nico nico nico three points if not a touchdown yes right right nico he

07:20just air milled oh my goodness he almost got higgins killed uh i mean with everything as as aikman was

07:28saying was sailing on him and high so it wasn't just the turnovers it and and and i think the thing

07:35we've kind of talked about like i i many of you may go a different way because it didn't happen it

07:41was seven to six going to that fourth quarter if the steelers at any point ever put anything together

07:48to where the texans were ever trailing late in that later in that game in the second half

07:54like cj cj just didn't put forth like we're good yeah like it it didn't it like the the defense had to

08:04come and blow that thing open and then when they did score their offensive touchdown in the second

08:09half you know a lot of it was either the play just drawn up just well like they got a quick

08:18throw to higgins 12 yards just by by scheme or they just handed it off and ran through them

08:26because the steelers were about done at that point it's that simple yeah i i'm at a d i'm at a d

08:32and and really i'm at a d minus for the expectations of him i came in here saying

08:37yesterday yo man all the all your young contemporaries balled out

08:42cj was cj was the worst out of all of them i mean in in many ways i know his numbers say 250 and all

08:51that you watch that game man i mean it like it felt like he was going to be primed to throw a pick at

08:56any moment therefore stretch there in the game so yeah that's that just i'm not saying he's gonna

09:02stink it up the rest of the way but i know what they did last night but that is not that is not

09:09i can't believe i'm saying it maybe i'm that doesn't seem to be it's sustainable that your

09:14quarterback plays like that and and you win games against better team that just doesn't seem to be

09:20sustainable so yeah that was uh that was rough that was rough last yeah it's again i mean people

09:28are gonna have to decide i and and again we i will talk about this definitely in the four o'clock but i

09:32like you're just gonna have to decide and and there's no right or wrong it's just and really

09:38domico's gonna have to decide i mean do you you know with cj stroud is it is it a man are we looking

09:46at a at a qb that's just hey man just play it tight to vest and if things go bad whatever you

09:52do just don't go in the tank or are are you looking at cj stroud of hey man you know it may not

09:58be our over and go to to ben johnson and caleb williams it may not be a cj just go out there and

10:05take hits and run all over the place and stretch the field and make a highlight reel but also make

10:09mistakes when overcome some mistakes like that's not going to be who you are and and and you're in cj or

10:15the offense and and but in moments throughout a season um and and in the playoffs are you going

10:24to be able to bank on your quarterback to be the reason you win right and um well hey people got to

10:30people got to figure out how they want to how they want to view if you're all right with just having

10:33that qb that just hey man just don't go in the tank when you play like garbage then then you're

10:38obviously you're you're you're you know your bar is going to be really low yeah tough one for cj but

10:45everything else was uh was great that that's why i do want to hear from you a day after this the

10:50texans win their first road game ever road playoff game ever become the last team in the nfl to win

10:57a road playoff game they get that crossed off the list they're headed to new england to face the
