00:24Mark Vandermeer on the call.
00:25That touchdown looked almost identical to the one he scored against Tampa Bay to take the lead.
00:30The difference was, I think the Ravens were trying on that touchdown.
00:34There's some questions still over whether the Bucs were trying to tackle him.
00:37I think one of the most promising things about that run was that it was against the Blitz.
00:41And, you know, there were still some things yesterday that popped up where you got to be concerned about how the Texans are handling the Blitz.
00:48But they blocked everything up properly.
00:52And then, as it happens with runs against the Blitz, if you can make it past that first wave of defenders, there's a lot of green grass.
00:59And I'm curious, you know, sometimes NFL Next Gen releases this information, sometimes they don't.
01:05But I'm curious how fast he was running on that.
01:07I am, too, because he outran guys to the end zone.
01:09It's not like he got past that first wave.
01:12It's not like they had 11 guys on the line of scrimmage on that play.
01:14Right.
01:15You know?
01:15He wasn't out running, like, Bonafide.
01:19He wasn't out running Kyle Hamilton.
01:20He wasn't out running Marlon Humphrey or anybody.
01:23But he was out running people.
01:24Yeah.
01:24And I think that was a little closer to that burst that classic Nick Chubb might have.
01:30Yeah.
01:30And, yeah, I'm just curious to see how many miles per hour was it in comparison to what his previous top scores were.
01:36But the blocking on that play by the receivers was very, very key.
01:42Yep.
01:42Because you had Xavier Hutchinson with a nice block.
01:45You had Christian Kirk.
01:48We're going to come.
01:50That was really, really good by the entire offense.
01:54Good to see.
01:55Yeah.
01:55Here was D'Amico Ryans yesterday after the game on the performance of the offensive line.
01:59Yeah.
01:59Offensively, I thought our offensive line did a really nice job of protecting.
02:04CJ had a lot of time in the pocket to make those decisions and make the good throws that he made.
02:09So, really proud of those guys and also running the football.
02:12Like, we were able to run for over, what, 160 yards for us to run the ball that way.
02:17It's a credit to our offensive line.
02:18It all starts there.
02:20Tight ends, receivers, everybody getting involved in blocking and staying with it.
02:24And our backs did another great job again this week.
02:27Yeah, and CJ was getting the ball out fast yesterday, too.
02:31He was, I think I saw one of the Advanced Stats Twitter accounts saying this was the fastest.
02:38The fastest he's gotten the ball out all year for sure, like 2.4 seconds.
02:41He was among the fastest in the NFL yesterday getting rid of the football.
02:45That helps the offensive line for sure.
02:47And that's been a trend all season long.
02:49He's been, you know, in the top ten for time to throw, fastest time to throw,
02:55which is the exact opposite of what it was last year where he was one of the, you know,
02:58he was in the bottom third of time to throw.
03:01And that's part of just being a third-year quarterback.
03:05We saw Pat Mahomes have to go through this, understanding that you've got to just,
03:10you've got to take what the defense gives you.
03:11As much as it's a cliche, as annoying as it is, you've got to just keep the sticks moving,
03:16get to third and short, do all those things.
03:18And I think they've done a good job of that the last couple weeks especially.
03:21And then just trust that you'll have your opportunities to take your shots downfield.
03:26Yep.
03:27If you keep doing that, the defense is going to get a point.
03:31And we saw it last week in the Titans when, you know, LeJarius Sneed ends up,
03:37all it takes is that one moment where LeJarius Sneed screws up his coverage
03:41and he hit Nico Collins.
03:43You saw yesterday, just taking what it gives you, rush the ball for first downs when you need to,
03:49and the big moments will pop at some point.
03:51They averaged eight and a half yards on first down, I think I saw D'Amico say,
03:54in the postgame, not in his press conference, but in the locker room.
03:59You know, locker room, he was rattling off number after number, and they scored 44 points.
04:03And so he was acknowledging a lot of people, eight and a half yards they averaged on first down yesterday,
04:07which is really good.
04:08Here was CJ, his assessment of the offensive line.
04:11Yeah, you know, our O-lineman did a great job, and that's where it starts, you know.
04:18I think I'm one of the best, you know, when I get the time and I can, like, deal it out.
04:23And our O-line did amazing this game.
04:25And when that happens, you know, Kells is calling a great game,
04:27and our receivers are running really good routes.
04:29We've been getting better at practice every week,
04:32and I think that's where, you know, you see the growth.
04:34But, yeah, it really starts with him.
04:37The offensive line, you know, against the beleaguered defense,
04:42they did some things really well, including the play where Nick Chubb
04:49had to dodge a defender in the backfield.
04:51Yeah, it was the first drive of the game.
04:52Yeah, Jake Andrews missed a block because his defensive tackle was slanting as he was playing.
04:57He was playing on a double team in that defensive tackle with the left guard.
05:01But the difference between how that would have happened last year versus how that would have happened this year,
05:08last year, three others, two, and it would have been dead in the water.
05:13Like, Joe Mixon would have beat that tackle, and then maybe he would have gotten a yard or two.
05:17Yeah.
05:17But because the right guard and right tackle did such a good job on their double team
05:22because the tight end actually performed his duties,
05:25you ended up – Joe Mixon could dodge a block or dodge a defender in the backfield
05:30but still had a really good picture in front of him.
05:33And that's what – you can withstand one missed block.
05:36It's that when you've got multiple breakdowns, that's where things get really, really ugly.
05:41I've just seen more evidence in the last few weeks on those plays of guys,
05:45all right, somebody misses a block, but you've moved the line of scrimmage ahead a few yards,
05:49and you can at least make three yards out of it.
05:52That play ended up being much more than three yards.
05:53It was a nine-yard run.
05:56It would have been stuffed from negative two yards.
05:58Nick Chubb got 11 extra yards out of that play.
06:00The thing about this offense, and you heard Nick Haley and D'Amico Ryan's talk all during the preseason
06:05about how important the double teams are going to be playing physical at the point of attack.
06:08It's really hard in training camp anymore to really get genuine quality reps doing that stuff
06:14because you're trying to keep everybody up off the ground.
06:17You're not playing in the preseason hardly at all.
06:20And it might seem like, oh, what's so hard about it?
06:24You're just double-teaming somebody.
06:25It takes a lot of footwork and timing and cohesion and all of that.
06:29I mean, I've turned into a grumpy old man about it.
06:31I wish I'd see the offensive line play more in the preseason because the downside –
06:37okay, the risk is that somebody gets injured.
06:39The downside is that you start off 0-3.
06:42Yeah.
06:42Because you're not good at doing what you want your bread and butter to be.
06:45That's right.

06:46Okay, so a 6-1, half-dozen the other.
06:50I'd rather practice at doing what you want to do live and getting good at that that way
06:56than start off 0-3.
06:58But me, oh, no, somebody's got a sprained ankle.

07:03I'm watching – they're showing highlights last night, the Sunday night football game,
07:06which you could have heard on Sports Radio 610.
07:10The AFC is wide open.
07:12If you missed it last night, Buffalo lost at home to the New England Patriots.
07:15Patriots are – they're a decent team.
07:18Drake May looks like he might be good.
07:20You know, it looks like there might be another good quarterback in the AFC here
07:23with Drake May and the Patriots.
07:25They're 3-2 now in the season.
07:27His numbers are very similar to Josh Allen's.
07:30Yeah, no, I have Drake May on one of my fantasy teams.
07:33It's been delightful having him this year.
07:35Yeah, and he's – and stylistically he's kind of similar.
07:37I don't think he's the tippy-top level runner that Josh Allen is,
07:41but he's very athletic, Drake May.
07:43So I say that to say that the Texans winning that game yesterday
07:46and just getting to 2-3 and kind of keeping the teams that are in front of them
07:50in their windshield right now, Seth, is really critical.
07:54Look, Buffalo was the last of the undefeateds going into last night,
07:57if I'm not mistaken.
07:58I think this is the fastest I can remember the undefeateds all going away.
08:02I think they were – Philly was undefeated and Buffalo was undefeated,
08:05and I don't think there's any others left, if I'm not mistaken.
08:09But, you know, Buffalo proved that they're fallible last –
08:11look, Buffalo should probably be 3-2.
08:13They probably should have lost to the Ravens in the opener,
08:16but they made that huge comeback at the end of the game.
08:19You know, like who's – I guess Buffalo's still the best team in the AFC right now.
08:23And then, I mean, just – you talk about the teams that were undefeated.
08:26I mean, the Eagles – nobody can figure out what the hell the Eagles are right now.
08:31And it was – it was – with an offense that can't run the ball, can't pass the ball.
08:37They've done it with blocked kicks and turnovers and everything else.
08:41But the upper crust of the NFL at large right now is standing on very unstable foot.
08:48Very flawed.

08:51And even just keeping it in the AFC, look, two weeks ago,
08:54people were putting Justin Herbert in the MVP conversation.
08:57You know, people were saying, see, this is why I had Justin Herbert fifth among all NFL quarterbacks,
09:03even though he's never won a playoff game.
09:05See, he's 3-0.
09:06Yeah, now he's 3-2, and he lost to the Giants,
09:08and he got blown out by the Commanders at home yesterday
09:11and threw a bad pick in the second half of that game when they were trying to come back in that game.
09:15Yeah, when I look across the entire AFC, the team that really sticks out
09:21is the team that's played most consistently really good football on both sides of the ball.
09:27Say it. We hate this. Say it.
09:28It's the Indianapolis Colts.
09:29Bingo. Yeah.
09:30I mean, it just – it very much is the Indianapolis Colts.
09:34You look at the Bills, and for one, they've allowed 113 points defensively.
09:38The Colts have allowed 89.

09:40Well, meanwhile, the Colts have scored 163, and the Bills have scored 153.

09:46And, I mean, last week was the Colts' first time that they really looked,
09:51oh, okay, they're not infallible.
09:53All right, Daniel Jones might be coming down to earth a little bit.
09:56And then, boom, there he goes again, Indiana Jones.

10:28So the score stays 21-6, and then the Titans get it to 21-12,
10:32and they score one of the wildest touchdowns you're ever going to see.
10:36Cam Ward throws a pick.
10:37The guy fumbles it, and literally guys are kicking the ball around on the ground,
10:42and the thing rolls into the end zone, and Tyler Lockett falls on it.
10:46And that's how it gets to be 21-19.
10:48And then they end up winning on a last-second field goal, 22-21.
10:52Just absolutely brutal if you're a Cardinals fan,
10:55or if you hate the Titans like we do.
