00:00All right, we do this every Monday, C.J. Stroud's grade.
00:05Text in your thoughts, 713-572-4610, YouTube and Twitch.
00:09Having a good time. I see you, Johnny James. I see you, Rudy Doss.
00:12I see you, Dwayne in the building, as always.
00:15I saw Joe earlier. Kevin's in the building.
00:18Cornbread, where you been?
00:20We missed you out at Sugar Land. Come on out.
00:22Colton Bradley in the building, I see you.
00:24We're having a good time, as always, out there.
00:28You can text in your grade, YouTube, Twitch, text in your grade.
00:32What was C.J. Stroud's grade, in your opinion?
00:37I see some here, D, C.
00:40Not his fault, but I gave him a D.
00:42Okay.
00:43C.J., I give a C.
00:45C.J. Stroud, C+.
00:46The only, because of that, Marvin, where he threaded the needle.
00:53But then someone just said, but Casario needs to go.
00:57Your grades out there, again, a reminder.
00:5917 of 28.
01:02He threw for 153 yards.
01:04That's got to be a season low.
01:06Two touchdowns, no interceptions, no turnovers, again.
01:11And one sack quarterback rating of 99.3.
01:17Clint, our quarterback.
01:18First, your thoughts on what you saw yesterday, his grade.
01:22Yeah, it's a B for me.
01:25I feel for C.J. Stroud, man.
01:30I feel for C.J. Stroud at this point simply because he has played as well or better than
01:38any quarterback in the league.
01:39And he has, if anybody in the league has earned the right to be trusted and to have the offense
01:46put in their hands, it's C.J.
01:49Stroud.
01:51Especially, more so, with a 1-4 football team.
01:55You should turn it over to the best part of your team and what gives you the best chance
02:00to be successful offensively.
02:02And the reality of it is, Ron, he just is not, he's not being allowed to consistently
02:10go out there and ultimately do what he does best and ultimately do what is best for this
02:15football team.
02:17For them to have a sixth offensive lineman in the game 40-plus percent of the time, for
02:22them to not make his number one receiver who is by far better than anybody else on the
02:27team, Nico Collins, a bigger part of this offense and at least a guy that's more targeted
02:34than anybody else on the team, right, is criminal.
02:41And, you know, I just feel for the kid.
02:43But with that said, I'm going with a B.
02:45I think he did the best that he could with the hand that he was dealt.
02:52And there's just the game on the line.
02:55Gotta have it drive.
02:57He goes down and sticks it in the end zone.
03:00You know, the drive before, they got a chance.
03:03They get a penalty on a run, a long run.
03:05Marvin Harrison drops the ball as he's getting absolutely just, I mean, chin-checked by a
03:12defensive tackle.
03:13Because Keelan Rutledge got thrown out of the house.
03:16And so that drive ends because you just can't get right.
03:20And then the next, you get one more shot and he takes you down.
03:23Kind of busted play.
03:24He ends up throwing a touchdown to Xavier Hutchinson.
03:27I just think the guy's doing as much as he possibly can with the hand that he's dealt.
03:32And once again, this week, I thought it was impressive what he was able to do.
03:35But unfortunately, he couldn't overcome what those around him did not do.
03:41So, yeah.
03:42Some more coming in.
03:45Somebody said, Clinton has lost his mind.
03:48CJ, a B.
03:48What game were you watching?
03:50I'll give CJ a B plus the next text, considering he once again took the team down the field and
03:56gave them the lead or tied up in the defense, squandered it again.
04:01Clint, I'm going to go with my grade.
04:04I'll go C plus.
04:07You know, I mean, 17 for 28, 153.
04:11We're starting there, right?
04:13Like that's, I mean, that's not terrible when you have the two touchdowns and no picks.
04:19But it ain't, you know, it ain't great, right?
04:23They could have, there was some maybe potential opportunities out there for more on the board.
04:29Now, I do agree with you that he is not working with a consistent offensive coordinator and
04:41play caller that puts him in the best position possible.
04:44I think they ran the ball probably on first down, second down way too much.
04:52And, you know, didn't really put the game in his hands like it was the last couple of weeks.
04:59But also, Clint, I do probably put more of it on the play caller, but I do put some of
05:06it on CJ, Clint, that Marvin Harrison, Jalen Nolan, and Nico Collins combined for six catches
05:13and nine yards.
05:14All right.
05:15I do think some of that is the guy who's got the ball to make sure, all right, I'm going
05:23to get, I know for you, you would at some point
05:27get Anthony Lucas the damn ball.
05:29Oh, I don't care what the play is called.
05:32You're going to, you're not going to sit there and, or you're going to die trying.
05:36I mean, it's, you're going to have 10 targets, you know, to him.
05:40So I do put a little bit of that on him, but he didn't turn the ball over and didn't
05:45have a lot of help around him.
05:47Like, like he's out here tricking people.
05:50That one sack he got, yeah, but he was getting his ass pressured throughout.
05:54Denard Wilson was really good, especially in overtime.
05:57And that dropping of Thibodeau right into the passing lane that, that almost ended the game with the interception before
06:05the Giants running game actually did was really, really creative and an exotic blitz and drop.
06:14So, but, but I give him a C plus in this, in this thing.
06:18I just, the offense to me just wasn't good enough to, to get above that.
06:21Okay.
06:22That's fair.
06:22That's fair.
06:23I can be, I can be talked into it.
06:25I'm going to watch some film and, and, uh, see where I land.
06:29But yeah, I just, I'm really, this was, you know, I was starting to come around a little bit on
06:34Nick Cayley really.
06:35Cause he was just, you could tell he was, it seemed like he was just for a lack of better
06:39terms.
06:39It seemed like he was doing a little bit more Sean McVay type things than he was, than he was
06:44Josh McDaniel or, or any of those guys he was, he was under in new England.
06:48And it just, uh, boy, it was a big step back this week.
06:51So I just feel for the quarterback, man.
06:52No, yeah, ultimately that's the bigger, bigger piece, right?
06:56Like he's, yeah, you know, like it shouldn't have, like they, they had, they, I don't even know if they
07:01ever actually did just say, all right, man, F it, man.
07:04We're going to put it in CJ's hands.
07:05Yeah.
07:06I think they continue to try to do that all the way on that final drive.
07:09They're, they're running the ball and, and put themselves in weird situations.
07:13So that is, that's it.
07:15CJ's grade right there.
07:17Um, someone said, I agree with Clint.
07:19Give him a B.
07:20Uh, hell yeah.
07:22Hughley, great minds think together.
07:24Yeah.
07:25C plus B minus range right there for one.
