00:09The deceased has been identified as Aditya Sagar, a third-year B.Tech civil engineering student from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh.
00:18According to information, Aditya visited the gym for the first time on Monday evening.
00:23During his workout, he suddenly started bleeding from his ear, collapsed and fell unconscious.
00:28Campus security personnel immediately rushed him to the institute's medical center.
00:34From there, he was referred to the civil hospital in Rupanagar.
00:38Doctors at the hospital declared him dead.
00:41Police officials said Aditya had no known prior medical condition.
00:45They added that he had gone to the gym on an empty stomach.
00:49Aditya's father, Vineet Sagar, is a senior railway officer.
00:53The family is said to be devastated by the sudden loss.
00:56The IIT Ropar administration has described the incident as an accident.
