Two passengers were injured after unidentified persons allegedly hurled an iron pipe at the Taj Express between Palwal and Hodal stations on Friday morning ( 1 May 2026), officials said.

According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), the incident occurred around 8 am when a 2 to 2.5-foot-long iron pipe was thrown at the moving train, which operates between New Delhi and Jhansi. The impact shattered the window of coach D-6, causing injuries to two passengers seated nearby.

One of the injured has been identified as Rajesh Aggarwal, a resident of Faridabad, who suffered facial injuries due to shattered glass. Both injured passengers were provided immediate medical assistance at Mathura Junction.

Based on a complaint filed by Aggarwal, a case has been registered at the GRP police station in Mathura. Police have launched an investigation and are working to identify and trace those responsible.

The incident has raised serious concerns over passenger safety and highlighted the need for stricter vigilance along railway routes.
