00:00Focusing on the top three teams in the country, Arizona, Michigan, and Iowa State are 1-2-3 in the national polls, and they're all undefeated.
00:08So that makes an interesting debate. Which of these three teams can be the last to be undefeated?
00:17Let's start with Arizona. What's good about them? They're top ten nationally in points for possession.
00:22They dictate the pace, and it doesn't matter if you play slow or play fast.
00:26And then, obviously, their front-court balance scoring makes them hard to scheme for because they have different ways they can beat you.
00:33What's tough? Their road defense doesn't travel, right?
00:37They're averaging almost seven points a game more away from the McHale Center.
00:41They're heavy reliant on half-court shot-making late in games, and their transition defense could be a problem against athletic teams.
00:49And the Big 12, I should say, they're most likely to have their streak snapped.
00:54Arizona's offense wins games, but defense is what protects streaks, and that's the gamble with them.
01:02Let's have to Michigan, who just got a huge scare last night, versus Penn State.
01:08Their physical half-court defensively, they out-rebound teams by almost six per game.
01:13They can play close games. You just saw it last game versus Penn State after blowing a ton of teams out.
01:20But do they have that late-game alpha score? I know election board has been fantastic.
01:26And then, when you look at them against teams that are top 50 defensively in metrics,
01:31their offensive efficiency dips sharply when that happens.
01:36Michigan wins by control, that separation.
01:39And I think that margin is starting to shrink. It was showed that last night.
01:43Michigan doesn't lose because they're bad. They're good.
01:45They lose because maybe they won't be able to close against better competition who defends.
01:51Let's get to Iowa State.
01:53Why do I think it's them?
01:55They're top five defensively.
01:57They force toneovers.
01:59Their elite home-court advantage.
02:02And their defensive identity travels.
02:05Their offensive struggle at times.
02:08And their shooting variance is their only real threat.
02:11But I'm going to go back to what I said before.
02:15Defense travels.
02:18And if you ask me a team that's going to be the one that's going to have the longest winning streak,
02:23even though they're in the Big 12 as opposed to Michigan,
02:26it's Iowa State's defense.
02:29Iowa State doesn't need to play great.
02:31They just need you to play uncomfortably.
02:34Iowa State doesn't need to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's going to be the one that's
