00:00of the NIL, Tom Izzo certainly has seen enough and you have to wonder if March season will be
00:07Izzo season in the future. It feels like his career could be coming to an end, not because
00:11he doesn't love coaching, but just because of all the things that he has to deal with,
00:14including some leadership decisions at Michigan State. He sounded off to the media yesterday on
00:19the loss of his athletic director and his president with reporters. The question about
00:26Jay and the leadership right now for the department, I guess, how do you kind of steward
00:31this through as the senior member and keep pushing it forward? Well, I'll be very honest
00:39with you, which I've always been. I can't stand what's going on. I'm not going to over talk
00:45about it now, but I am in the very near future. I've had it. This is self-inflicted. We just
00:54lost the best president I may have ever been here, maybe. One of the best. And there's
01:01other dominoes that get affected when things go wrong like that. And I'm, yeah, I'm very
01:07upset about it. And I'm sick of it. And I'll go into why when I decide to say something in
01:17the near future. I'm not going to do it right now, but I'm, I'm, uh, I think 600,000 living
01:26alums better start rallying together. If there's ever a time that we need to rally together,
01:33it's now. And, uh, and, and that's all 600,000. I'm not an alum. I'm, I'm, I'm like Greg Williams
01:43or like, like maybe you're a football coach. I'm a very invested, um, uh, stock, uh, stakeholder.
01:55I'm a very invested stakeholder, but the alums better stand up. That's what I'm saying. So I'm,
02:02I'm going to ask the alums to stand up because what happened when our president is, um,
02:12is ridiculous. And he said it, um, we know the reasons. And, uh, I'm ashamed, disgusted, hurt,
02:27hurt, but see what the Spartan nations gets. Spartan nations are the same, though. All 600,000.
02:40All right. So it sounds like Tom Izzo is kind of about to go by the way of Nick Saban.
02:45I hate to
02:46see this, Joe. Uh, you know, Nick Saban chased from the game because of the NIL. There's no doubt
02:51about that. I mean, Tom Izzo is probably going to coach this season. Uh, but I think we're coming to
02:56a close here for a lot of our legendary coaches in college sports. He's asking the Spartans to
03:02step up and obviously pay more money to keep their team president there. I mean,
03:07if I'm reading between the lines, am I missing something?
03:10I just love how when somebody says that I don't want to talk a lot about it and then proceeds
03:15to
03:15talk a lot about it throughout the entire ending. Fantastic stuff, but you got to love Izzo.
03:22Listen, the guy's a national treasure and he's seeing, I'm shocked. He didn't go, um, the same
03:29time that, you know, Jay Wright left and coach K left and you know, they, they all saw the writing
03:35on the wall and Izzo hung around and buddy, I think he hung around cause he had the right
03:41leadership and support at the university. And now that that's not being retained and nobody wants to
03:48spend the money to keep them. Well, you know, you got the athletic director going to Kentucky,
03:53you got the president going to Clemson and he's like, what are we doing here? So I, I sense the
03:59frustration level. It's going to come to a head. I think I'm with you. It's going to come to an
04:04end
04:04at some point here in the very near future.
