Uh, I like, you have Duke one, Florida two, uh, Houston three, and Michigan state four.
00:07
I give Michigan state a lot of credit for their physicality, their defense, their coach.
00:12
Uh, this guy means business when it comes to, you know, sweet 16 elite eights.
00:19
He's won a national championship.
00:21
I guess some people would be surprised he hasn't won more.
00:24
How good do you think this team is?
00:26
They play tomorrow night against Ole Miss.
00:28
How good is this team compared to some of the other ones that he's had over the years
00:32
where he's come this close?
00:34
Oh, I don't think this team is as good as 2000 or even a one.
00:39
It's probably better than the Oh five final 14, uh, that, that did such a nice job to
00:45
get there, but really, uh, wasn't elite.
00:48
Uh, but the, the, the thing that this team has is a tremendous amount of depth and, and
00:54
a number of players who are willing to sacrifice their own game, uh, minutes shots roll, uh,
01:02
to make sure this team is successful.
01:04
That's been the most amazing thing about it in an era when that doesn't happen very often
01:09
and very easily, you know, that transfer portal is always spinning.
01:13
And so the idea that you would have basically 10 guys that only a few will play exceptional
01:20
minutes and the rest will just fill a role on, on a given night, depending on what works,
01:25
who's hot, how the opposition wants to play them and other significant factors.
01:31
I think that he's done a tremendous job with this group.
01:35
It's not going to be easy for them and they're going to have to play much, much, much, much.
01:39
I don't know how much time we have for how many much is they're going to have to play
01:42
better than they played in the first weekend.
01:44
They were really poor for a lot of the game against Bryant, uh, and they were not a whole
01:49
lot better over the weekend.
01:52
They have to execute better than they did in those two games.
01:55
New Mexico really caused them problems.
01:58
They didn't do a great job of staying in front of Donovan Dent.
02:01
And if Nellie jr.
02:02
Joseph hadn't gotten into foul trouble for the Lobos, I'm not sure whether or not the
02:06
Spartans could have won that game.
02:08
They need all their guys to play better.
02:10
And okay.
02:11
So Jace Richardson had a rough game, uh, that's going to happen, but you're not winning these
02:16
games at this level without Jace Richardson, not only not having rough game, but he has
02:21
to be exceptional.
02:23
So you have a Auburn at, at five and they got a big game with Michigan tomorrow, uh,
02:29
the end of the season, they lost three or four, but they look pretty good.
02:33
Uh, the first weekend, uh, how do you think they're going to do against the Wolverines?
02:39
Well it's an interesting matchup because there are very few teams that can go in against
02:43
Michigan and say, ah, you got seven foot seven plus center and a seven foot forward.
02:48
Who's a creator?
02:49
Well, we don't have very many seven foot creators out there, but we can match Jani Brougham
02:53
against him and we can put Dylan Cardwell inside to cope with Vlad Golden and we'll
02:58
be fine.
02:59
I mean, that's the, that's the prevailing theory going into the game for Auburn.
03:02
I think they have reason to believe that'll be enough to stop those two guys or to slow
03:07
those two guys.
03:08
It'll be a different challenge for Brougham and actually probably relative to the NBA,
03:13
it's probably a pretty good challenge for him because he's going to have to show that
03:16
he can cover a big guy who plays on the move and that's what the NBA wants to see.
03:21
I'm sure that's not what he's thinking about, but it certainly could be helpful to him if
03:24
he were able to slow or shut Danny Wolfe down.
03:28
Danny Wolfe is the, is a really unusual player in college basketball to be seven foot, to
03:34
be able to handle the basketball, to be able to create offensive opportunities out of pick
03:38
and roll, uh, out of various different sets.
03:42
He's got so much that he can bring and very few teams like Auburn have someone that looks
03:47
like they can match with him.
