00:00Give me your final four or your best four teams right now in College Hoop.
00:06All right.
00:07So, yeah, I think the three teams that pretty much have been consistently
00:12head and shoulders above everybody from November all the way until now
00:15have been Arizona, Michigan, and Duke.
00:18I think those have been the three most consistent teams throughout the year.
00:22Then you could argue for the fourth team.
00:24I think Florida has kind of emerged here over the last three to four weeks.
00:28It took a minute because they had to replace that whole backcourt that won
00:32the national championship last year.
00:33But Boogie Flan, Xavier and Lee, they're making plays.
00:36They're huge up front.
00:37They brought back the three, four, and five spots in Chinye, Lou, Hawk,
00:41and Condon from that Natty team.
00:43So I think Florida would be the fourth team for me right now if I had to say
00:47the top four teams.
00:49Nine straight for them right now, right?
00:51As much as I have to do this being a Kane and do this here, I mean,
00:55I mean, really, they've caught fire at the right time.
00:58And you said the significance was just figuring out the pieces, right?
01:02Yep.
01:03Yeah, they had to replace the whole backcourt.
01:05They lost their three guards from the national championship team,
01:07but they brought back the frontcourt.
01:09But you look at it, too.
01:11There are non-con losses that they were losing.
01:13They lost to Arizona in a two-possession game,
01:16the number one team in the country, arguably.
01:18They lost to Cameron Indoor, a game where they led a lot of it.
01:20It's a harder place to win in America.
01:22Then they lost to UConn at the Garden, which is basically UConn South.
01:27So, I mean, they lost those three games.
01:29They were trying to figure things out.
01:30But ever since they lost an early SEC game,
01:34they've been absolutely rolling.
01:35Todd Golden's a really good basketball coach.
01:38So Arkansas gets destroyed 111-77.
01:41I mean, you know, they get just absolutely handled by the Gator team.
01:45So you tell me, are you concerned?
01:46Because I thought maybe, Ryan,
01:49that this would be a basketball team that could be a, you know,
01:52maybe a Sweet 16 or an Elite 8 team.
01:55Your takeaways on what happened yesterday to them,
01:59and do you have any concerns about the Razorbacks?
02:02Yeah, I definitely do.
02:04Because this time of year, you shouldn't be getting drilled like that.
02:07I mean, we're entering, we're at actually March 1st now.
02:11So that's a little bit of a red flag to get blown out in a March Madness game,
02:17basically, two weeks away.
02:18So I have my concerns.
02:19They're really young in the backcourt, really talented,
02:22but inexperienced at the backcourt.
02:24So, but Cal Perry has done this over the course of his career,
02:29where he's rallied the troops going into March.
02:31They got to a Sweet 16 last year when everybody was out on him.
02:35So I have my concerns, but I never count out Cal in March.
02:40Bruce Pearl made this comment yesterday.
02:42He said that he doesn't believe that Miami of Ohio should get an opportunity
02:47to make the tournament if they don't win their conference.
02:51Are you in agreement or disagreement with that?
02:54I'm in a total disagreement with that.
02:56I mean, I don't think people realize how hard it is to go 29-0.
03:00I don't care what league you are in America.
03:04And we see this in college football, the hypothetical games,
03:07where so-and-so would be laying so many points on the road or on a neutral site.
03:12It's like, who cares?
03:13We had a 30-game sample size.
03:16It's convenient for Bruce Pearl because Stephen Pearl's the head coach at Auburn,
03:20and they have 14 losses on the year, and they're one of the bubble teams.
03:23So he kind of backtracked his statements a little bit today
03:28because Wally Zerbiak, the Miami of Ohio former player,
03:31kind of went at him a little bit where he basically said,
03:34I would put him in, but if we're selecting the best teams,
03:38are they one of the best teams?
03:39So I just completely disagree.
03:42If it was so easy to go 29-0,
03:44then why hasn't any other team done it in the last 10 years?
03:48Absolutely.
03:49I think the last team to win a national title and go unbeaten is that IU team
03:53from back in 76 was the last team to end up doing it.
03:56How good do you think they are?
03:58How good are and how good is Miami of Ohio?
04:02They're really good.
04:03I saw them in person at Kent State, their overtime,
04:07the one that they almost got picked off,
04:09and then I saw them against UMass as well.
04:11And the other back story, everybody kills their non-conference schedule.
04:16They were coming off a 25-win season last year, brought back four starters.
04:20None of these power four teams would schedule them
04:23because they didn't want to be on the ticker losing to Miami of Ohio.
04:26So it goes both ways where, yes, they didn't have the greatest non-con schedule,
04:30but also the power fours were scared to play them
04:33because they brought back four starters from a 25-win team
04:36in an era where nobody brings back any production with the portal.
04:39There you go.
04:39There you go.
04:39There you go.
04:40So let's go.
