00:00All right, Jenny.
00:01Three, two, one, go!
00:06Yay!
00:09Perfect!
00:13For me and Dave, every day is a lot of moving parts.
00:16With five growing kids.
00:18No!
00:19Do not go in the house!
00:21All right, we break up.
00:22Whoa!
00:24Whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:25A working farm full of our beloved animals.
00:29Sometimes cows don't do what you want them to.
00:30It's the strangest thing.
00:31I think I have to go in and scoop some poop, too.
00:35A renovation business.
00:36Oh, what?
00:39And running two stores in our community of Northwest Arkansas.
00:43I think we did it.
00:44We definitely did it.
00:47We stay pretty busy and sometimes a little stressed.
00:51God!
00:51Oh, my Lord, David!
00:53But when your job is helping your neighbors transform
00:56their lives.
00:58Oh, my God!
00:59By transforming the place they call home,
01:02they crush it.
01:04Oh, my God, it's so pretty.
01:06Oh!
01:07It's not really work at all.
01:08Just another day in this crazy, beautiful life
01:11we call ours.
01:12Oh, my God!
01:13How did you do that?
01:14Just tear it up.
01:28Can you grab that side?
01:30Yep, I got it.
01:31Whew.
01:32Well, that worked out good.
01:33Well, that worked out good.
01:35It's going to be an awesome demo.
01:37It's really nice having guys in all different areas.
01:40You see the progress happen a lot quicker.
01:42Today, we are starting demo at Debbie Neiman's house.
01:45We have had extensive conversations with Debbie.
01:47So far, she and her family have just
01:49used this as a lake house for visits,
01:50but she wants to make this her permanent residence.
01:53We wanted to get started right away.
02:00It's very dated and kind of dark and closed in,
02:03even though you have this incredible view of the lake.
02:08So we're demoing the spaces that we know need to be removed.
02:11This house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms,
02:13with a living room and kitchen separated by a big fireplace.
02:17There's also a dining room and a connecting porch.
02:19We've already been given the go-ahead
02:21to demo all these walls out to open up the space
02:24and make way for a whole new floor plan.
02:26This is a project she has dreamt about
02:28and planned for for a long time.
02:29She and her husband had bought this house a couple years ago.
02:32They were going to renovate before moving in,
02:34and we're just five weeks from starting the renovation
02:37together, and her husband unexpectedly
02:39passed away about a year ago.
02:41So the project was on hold for a while.
02:44But she feels like this is the time
02:46to really go forward with her and her husband's dreams.
02:49This will become the new kitchen.
02:51Does this wall stay?
02:53That wall's going.
02:54This whole cabinet section is going.
02:56The door behind us is going.
02:58OK.
02:59The kitchen is relocated so that it maximizes the lake view.
03:02Can we see if we can get this countertop pop off?
03:11Did I get the giblets?
03:12Yeah.
03:13Thanks for that.
03:14Nice.
03:16It's a big project.
03:19So the plan is to open as much up as we can.
03:24Look at that.
03:25Because Debbie, her son Gates, and his wife, Robbie,
03:27are coming by today.
03:29So we can really kind of plan things out
03:31after it's at the shell stage.
03:34Let me get this knocked free, and then we got it.
03:37Oh, my word.
03:39So we are just updating, like, refreshing, refreshing.
03:43Yep, yep.
03:43But this is the main bedroom.
03:45Isn't it so weird that you would create a room
03:47where you walk through the closet to get to the bedroom?
03:50Yes, it's very weird.
03:51So I think we should move the entrance right here.
03:55So you're coming off the living room.
03:57OK.
03:57They will be here in, what, three hours now?
04:00Yeah, I think so.
04:00So we've got a lot of work to do until then.
04:02Yes, we do.
04:12Hello?
04:13Wow.
04:14Hello.
04:15You guys, I love it.
04:17Annihilated inspired place.
04:18So good to see you again.
04:19You too.
04:20Hi.
04:21Oh, my gosh, look at baby.
04:22Yay.
04:23He's getting close.
04:24Oh, my gosh, yeah, about a month away.
04:26Deb, look, the windows are down.
04:28That is incredible to see this whole section.
04:30I know.
04:31Isn't it so pretty?
04:32Oh, wow.
04:34Wow.
04:34Gates had some of the best conversations
04:37with his dad out here.
04:38Aw.
04:39That's amazing.
04:40I love that.
04:41And I wouldn't have had that time
04:43if my parents didn't decide to buy this place two years ago.
04:46Right.
04:46Greg and I really wanted to move here from Plano, Texas,
04:52because our son and daughter-in-law, Gates and Robbie,
04:55live up here in Bentonville.
04:58We wanted a house on the lake, and our realtors called us
05:02to come and see the house.
05:03We walked in, called Gates and Robbie,
05:06and found out they were pregnant with their first child.
05:09So I looked at Greg and said, we're buying this.
05:13But the house hasn't been touched since the 70s,
05:17so it's run down.
05:18I really don't like the way it looks.
05:21Greg and I wanted to renovate and make it our forever home
05:25together.
05:26I just thought I had longer than I did,
05:28but he passed away last July.
05:31So everything came to a halt.
05:34But Robbie and Gates, they're everything to me.
05:37And I adore my grandchild.
05:40Katie's a blast and soon to be two grandbabies.
05:43So I decided to go ahead and renovate.
05:46I just want everyone in the family to use it
05:49and enjoy time together.
05:52But not having Greg here, it's still pretty hard.
05:55But I'm really excited because this was our dream.
06:01I know we've had some conversations,
06:03but let's talk through what you guys are imagining
06:05for this room.
06:06Carpet gone.
06:07Carpet gone.
06:09Yes.
06:09You want wood flooring?
06:10I would love it throughout the house.
06:11Perfect.
06:12I know you want an electric fireplace, right?
06:15I thought it would be safer with children.
06:17Oh, and it's nice. It's just easy to flip a switch.
06:19Right.
06:20Turn it on and turn it off.
06:21That's what I want.
06:22So this will basically be living in a hangout room.
06:25Right.
06:26And then you were concerned about this.
06:27Greg and I, we wanted to close in the porch
06:30because we felt it was a hazard for all the kids.
06:33Yeah.
06:34It's about a 30-foot drop.
06:35So I was thinking, make it dining.
06:37Dining.
06:38Yes.
06:39Which will be really cool.
06:40Because I know you like to bring everyone here
06:41for Thanksgiving dinner.
06:42Oh, everybody comes.
06:43Huge table.
06:44How many people at Thanksgiving?
06:45Well, last year we had 15.
06:47OK.
06:48And now we're about to have 16.
06:50Oh, it's so exciting.
06:51So reworking the living room.
06:53We're going to have new flooring,
06:54hand lighting, electric fireplace.
06:56You have your dining room.
06:57We'll obviously have new glass that's safe.
07:00And then you also have the big table.
07:01That'll be perfect.
07:02We already cut this hole here for your door for your bedroom.
07:06Ooh.
07:07You will no longer have to walk through a closet
07:08to get to your bedroom.
07:09Yes.
07:10We're going to close the old door.
07:12So now you have a big walk-in closet.
07:14Nice.
07:15Yes.
07:16OK, let's talk about your bathroom.
07:18So what would you like to see?
07:20I still want two sinks.
07:22OK.
07:23And a tub, shower.
07:24Tub and shower.
07:25Any colors that you love for your room?
07:28I like, oh, blues, greens, beige.
07:30OK.
07:31So the bedroom, we're going to close this old slider up,
07:34change out the flooring, change out the lighting,
07:37all new windows, paint.
07:39We'll re-work your entire bathroom.
07:42Replace everything.
07:43You'll have a shower, a tub, two sinks,
07:45and just a nice, beautiful, updated space.
07:47That's wonderful.
07:48Let's go talk kitchen.
07:49OK.
07:50That's very important.
07:51There was some debate on where to put the kitchen,
07:53but it really makes sense to have it here with the view.
07:55Yeah.
07:56We're going to obviously maximize this with windows.
07:57Yes.
07:58This wall will scooch back,
07:59so you can have a nice walk-in pantry.
08:02As you know, we estimated $300,000
08:04for this whole renovation.
08:05But what do you envision for your dream kitchen?
08:08I like lower cabinets with windows.
08:11Oh.
08:12I love that.
08:13Especially here.
08:14I know.
08:15An island, I'm assuming.
08:16Oh, yes.
08:17Yes, definitely.
08:18Big island.
08:19Do you have any preference?
08:20Stained, painted, do you have a preference?
08:21Not really.
08:22I so trust y'all's creativity.
08:24I can't imagine not relying on y'all.
08:27Aw.
08:28Well, we're honored to do this, so thank you.
08:30OK.
08:31So the kitchen will be all new windows.
08:33We're going to replace the flooring,
08:34consistent flooring throughout the house.
08:36All new cabinets, countertops, appliances, island,
08:39and obviously a big walk-in pantry.
08:42If we could also add, like, a little sign above the kitchen
08:44that says, Dee Dee's Camp for the grandkids.
08:47I love that.
08:48Like, you do camp with the kids?
08:49Yes, or I will.
08:50They're a little young yet, but I did get a bracelet.
08:53Dee, I love that.
08:54I love that.
08:55I love that.
08:56So we need a place, since you're going to have all the kids,
08:57you need lots of snacks, too.
08:58So we're going to make sure there's snack storage.
09:00Definitely.
09:01OK, so here we have pantry, which is going to be snack storage,
09:04small appliances, lots of extra stuff here.
09:07And I know we talked about giving you a nice laundry room,
09:09but you still have this space here.
09:11Right.
09:12In your dream world, having a little bit of extra space,
09:14how do you see that being used?
09:16It could be a game room.
09:17We do entertain.
09:18OK.
09:19A lot.
09:20So I would love to have, like, a bar.
09:22Yeah.
09:23OK.
09:24We got to talk about outside, too.
09:25Oh, yes.
09:26Oh, also this door.
09:27What, um...
09:28Yeah, what are your thoughts on the door?
09:29It's a little dated.
09:30No.
09:31On the other side, the hardware doesn't really work.
09:32Got it.
09:33But you would make just a new door.
09:34Yes.
09:35All right.
09:36This is an interesting house.
09:38It's like, it's very unassuming from out here.
09:40Yes.
09:41You have no idea what's back there.
09:42Yeah.
09:43I particularly don't like the outside.
09:46I would like it to be taller.
09:48And I don't mind brick, but I definitely don't like the color.
09:52I know.
09:53I was actually wondering if maybe we could do some sort of dormers
09:55or something.
09:56Like a dormer or something like that.
09:57Because it is such a flat room.
09:58Yeah.
09:59Oh, that's a good idea.
10:00What about stone?
10:01What do you think of stone?
10:02Oh, I love stone.
10:03OK.
10:04Because I kind of...
10:05Yeah, I love stone.
10:06Oh, well then, yeah.
10:07That's kind of what I was thinking,
10:08is to make it kind of like a stone-looking cottage.
10:09I think it could work.
10:10So, instead of the brick, we'll add stone to the exterior.
10:13Update these windows.
10:14Update these shutters.
10:16We'll change out the lighting.
10:17Change out the front door.
10:18Add some dormers.
10:19So it looks like a more of a modern cottage.
10:22That's greatness.
10:23OK, well...
10:24I love about this place.
10:25Like, you came here and dreamed together to, you know,
10:27make this amazing space for your family.
10:29Yep.
10:30My dad was going to be boots on the ground.
10:32Really managing the renovation himself.
10:34And I know that my dad is thrilled that we're working with you guys
10:37to finish the job.
10:38We'll try to do right by him.
10:39Yes, I know.
10:40I know.
10:41Well, thank you for trusting us.
10:42Yeah.
10:43I can promise you we will not be done by the time your baby is born,
10:46but we will hurry.
10:47We are on a time crunch because, at the moment,
10:50Debbie's going back and forth from here to Texas,
10:52and she just wants to be here next to the grandbabies.
10:54So we want to get her in as quickly as we possibly can.
10:57There's just a lot to do.
10:59We are touching every single aspect of this house.
11:03Anything we've got to do on the exterior,
11:05all these new windows, siding with trim,
11:08is going to be a big challenge.
11:10Thanks, guys.
11:11Bye, guys.
11:12Also, we have to be very mindful of Greg's legacy,
11:16because they had this dream,
11:17and they were going to do this together.
11:19So we really have to figure out different ways to honor that.
11:22Yeah.
11:41So this is where I think we do a Florida ceiling.
11:44We just do lots of storage, built-in drawers,
11:48maybe on the bottom where you can put the stuff.
11:51All right.
11:52We are at Debbie Neiman's house today.
11:54We have got all the demo done,
11:56and now we're framing all of the walls back in.
11:58You know, Debbie talked about Camp Dee Dee,
12:00and we talked about snacks.
12:02Of course, Grandma needs to have snacks.
12:04What if, this is weird,
12:06but what if we got a vending machine?
12:08Oh, I love that idea.
12:09Isn't that cool?
12:10How much would our kids love a vending machine?
12:11That's what I'm saying.
12:12I'm going to start looking.
12:13Okay, well, I do want to talk about the front door, though.
12:15I mean, first of all, this one's super, super dated.
12:18I just think the outside of this house needs to be more cheery.
12:20Debbie is, like, cheery and happy and amazing,
12:23and I feel like the outside of the house is not,
12:25and it needs to feel, like, sunshine.
12:27Dutch door would be super cute on this, like, stone cottage.
12:30Oh.
12:31And then when the kids are over and it's out,
12:33she has the top of the door open,
12:34but the kids are trapped and safe.
12:36Not trapped.
12:37That didn't sound...
12:38That's not the right word.
12:39You want to leave it at the same location?
12:41But then what...
12:42This is weird.
12:43Just put glass in there.
12:44No, but it's...
12:45It's...
12:46Put clear glass.
12:47Look how ugly it is, Dave.
12:48Come look out here.
12:49It's ugly.
12:50Okay, so a centered-up, four-foot Dutch door.
12:52Right?
12:53Doesn't that feel like sunshine to anyone else?
12:55Yeah.
12:57Okay, one more thing.
12:58for this dining room.
12:59Okay.
13:00It looks super sketch.
13:01I don't want to go on it.
13:02So remember when Gates was talking about this room?
13:04This is where him and his dad, like,
13:06had lots of really good conversations.
13:08So I think we need to get a giant table, number one.
13:10Okay.
13:11But you know how you like to work with stained glass
13:14back in your college days?
13:15It was an elective class.
13:16What if you make a piece of stained glass
13:19that we hang in the new windows?
13:21It's not part of the windows,
13:23because I don't want to...
13:24Like, that's too complicated,
13:25but we can just hang it.
13:26And then when the sun shines on it,
13:28the colors will come through onto the dining table.
13:30So it's, like, in honor of their dad
13:32and memory of their dad.
13:33And the light shines down on the table,
13:35so he's still here,
13:36because this was the space where
13:37they have such great memories with him.
13:39And I don't think you need to do anything, like, elaborate.
13:41I think it should just be lots of pretty colors
13:43that sort of mimic the lake,
13:45like, really soft lake, sky.
13:47Yeah.
13:48Okay, stained glass, baby.
13:50Some of the classes that you take in college
13:52you never think you're going to use,
13:54but that is one that we have put to good use.
13:56All right, break.
13:57Good job.
14:04Today, Chris and I are cutting eyebrow arches
14:06to go over the bar and the pantry door.
14:08There we go.
14:15Howdy, howdy.
14:16Hey!
14:17Got a lot of framing.
14:18The arch looks really good.
14:19So what else?
14:20Okay.
14:21On this doorway here into the pantry,
14:23what Chris and I had talked about
14:25was, you know, running a three-foot opening
14:28and then just doing the archway and the trim.
14:30So then you'd have just the standard square doors.
14:32Yeah.
14:33The good news is I have the vending machine ordered.
14:37Here's, it's going to match the color
14:39of the cabinetry in the pantry.
14:41How big is it?
14:42Four foot one and a half inches.
14:43Four foot one and a half wide.
14:44Yeah, it's not going to fit.
14:46It's not going to fit?
14:47What do you mean it's not going to fit?
14:48Not with an arched doorway.
14:49Who knew that a vending machine was four feet wide
14:52and seven feet tall and 30 inches deep?
14:54Well, you've got to fit all the snacks.
14:55It needs to fit all the snacks.
14:56Here's a thought.
14:57Do we just do a cased opening
14:59and not have a door on the pantry?
15:01If it's all closed cabinetry,
15:02it's actually really beautiful.
15:03No.
15:04So I have one more question.
15:05Okay, yes.
15:06Is it really weird now that we have
15:08square cased opening, square cased opening,
15:10and one random eyebrow?
15:11No.
15:12That's like a unique spot.
15:13Love it.
15:14No, I don't think so.
15:15That's all I needed.
15:25At the Neiman House, we moved the kitchen,
15:27so now we have this extra space,
15:29and they love to play games as a family,
15:32so we are making a game table for this room.
15:35We're using walnut.
15:36It's really beautiful.
15:37The guys are cutting the top,
15:38and this space in the game room
15:40is going to feel very different
15:41than the rest of the house,
15:42which is what I wanted.
15:43So while you're doing this,
15:44I'm going to go look through a pile of tile
15:45because I need some tile
15:46for the little bar area.
15:48Okay.
15:49Next to the game room
15:50at the Neiman House,
15:51we have a little bar,
15:53and I know we had some leftover
15:56green tile back here,
15:58and I have to find it
16:00because I really think it would be pretty.
16:02Oh, yes, this is it.
16:04I need 35 square feet.
16:08And I knew I had this somewhere.
16:10This is actually leftover
16:11from Sylvie's bathroom,
16:13and I think it will be really pretty
16:14in that arched bar right next to the game room
16:18with that dark walnut table.
16:20I think that will be really pretty.
16:21So, okay, good.
16:22I'm just going to leave it here,
16:23but I'll bring it to the house tomorrow.
16:24There we go.
16:27Time is of the essence at Debbie's house
16:32because her new grandbaby is due any day now.
16:36We're adding the dormer.
16:37The back wall is being prepped for new windows,
16:40and at Derek's shop,
16:41Dave, Derek, and his brother, Damon,
16:44are going to start building the front door.
16:46It's going to be a nice door.
16:48It's done. Yeah.
16:49All right.
16:59Winters are going in.
17:01Oh, my gosh.
17:02Look at this view.
17:03Are you kidding me?
17:04It's incredible, isn't it?
17:05I know I say it every time, but...
17:07Oh.
17:08Hello.
17:09How are you?
17:10It's been a while.
17:11Hi.
17:12It looks like you're knee-deep in something,
17:13are you?
17:14I am.
17:15Look at this view.
17:16Look where I'm at.
17:17Hang on, let me show you.
17:18I mean...
17:19Okay, well, so I'm ED in HGTV Dream Home 2026.
17:22It's in North Carolina.
17:24This is actually the first time I've ever done a lake house,
17:27and you have done, like, a dozen.
17:29We're actually at a lake house literally right now.
17:31Come say hello.
17:32Okay.
17:33So, what's up? Can we help you?
17:34Yes. So, because you've done so many lake houses,
17:37we would love to kind of collaborate on this one area
17:40that is going to be used for al fresco dining.
17:42It's a covered outdoor space on the dock.
17:44Oh, my gosh. That'd be amazing. Yeah.
17:46We would like a table that seats about 60 people.
17:49Okay.
17:50It can be in an outdoor covered space.
17:52But aside from that, we would love your spin on something
17:54that you would enjoy with your own family by the water.
17:56Okay.
17:57Love to see you there.
17:58Okay.
17:59We can do that.
18:00I'll keep you posted. Okay.
18:01Bye, Brian. Thanks.
18:02Thanks.
18:03Bye.
18:04Okay. So, that was a friend of mine, Brian Patrick Flynn.
18:06He is another designer, and he is actually working on the HGTV Dream Home,
18:11which is so cool because they essentially create a dream home,
18:17and then they give it away.
18:18So, he just asked if we could come up with an idea for an outdoor dining table,
18:22come up with something.
18:23But this is very exciting.
18:24Very fun.
18:25I love this kind of stuff.
18:26Dave, we got to think on this.
18:28Oh, my gosh.
18:29Oh, my gosh.
18:30Look at this.
18:31Look at this.
18:32Oh, my gosh.
18:33This is what I wanted.
18:38You're good.
18:39You got plenty of room.
18:40This is the door that we finished at Derrick's shop.
18:45Oh, you guys.
18:46I got it.
18:47Oh, oh, oh, oh.
18:48Like a dream.
18:49Oh, the door.
18:50Knock, knock.
18:51Oh.
18:52Oh.
18:53Hi, guys.
18:54What's up?
18:55Oh, did you see the stone is here?
18:57Oh, my gosh.
18:58Oh, my gosh.
18:59Oh, my gosh.
19:00Oh, my gosh.
19:01Oh, my gosh.
19:02Oh, my gosh.
19:03Oh, my gosh.
19:04Oh, my gosh.
19:05Oh, my gosh.
19:06Oh, my gosh.
19:07Oh, my gosh.
19:08Are you here, too?
19:09No.
19:10Hello.
19:11Charlie, what's up, man?
19:12Brought you a few rocks.
19:13Holy cow.
19:14This was probably a heavy look.
19:16I'm looking at all the different sizes and stuff.
19:18I kind of like that it's all different.
19:20Jay's really good at it.
19:21You're good at piecing it together.
19:22I want it to look haphazard like an old cottage, you know?
19:25Okay.
19:26I don't want it to be all...
19:27Uniformed?
19:28Yeah.
19:29Debbie's going to love this.
19:30She loves stone.
19:31And so I think we just make it super cute.
19:38Dave?
19:39Yeah?
19:40I have Debbie Neiman on the phone.
19:41Debbie.
19:42She has some news for us.
19:43Debbie.
19:44What's going on?
19:45Yes.
19:46The baby's here.
19:47Oh!
19:48Baby Grayson.
19:49Congratulations.
19:50Oh, my goodness.
19:51That's amazing.
19:53Oh, so happy.
19:54I'm so happy to share it with you guys.
19:55Well, thank you for doing so.
19:56And this kind of lights a fire on getting your house done now.
19:59We've got to get that thing done so you can come and enjoy that new baby.
20:02Well, thank you, Debbie.
20:03Go enjoy that baby.
20:04Congratulations.
20:05Thank you so much.
20:07All right.
20:08Bye.
20:09I actually was going to go pick out a gift for them anyway.
20:12Now the baby's here.
20:13What are you doing?
20:14Cleaning?
20:15This is a mess.
20:16I was trying to organize.
20:17I know.
20:18It used to be organized, but it's like everything we have.
20:19Oh, I love it.
20:20We're selling stuff.
20:21I know.
20:22We're selling.
20:23Do you want to help me put together a gift?
20:24Sure.
20:25Yeah, I'll take a break from this.
20:26Okay.
20:27Back at the house, while Jay is working on the stone exterior, the new layout is coming together inside,
20:31and we've got our beautiful hardwood floors going down throughout the house.
20:34It's going to be great.
20:35Feeling good.
20:36Yep.
20:47Okay.
20:48I'm going to stick them over here.
20:52So if you did the metal base with this.
21:01Let me go grab the steel.
21:03So we are working on a tabletop for Brian Patrick Flynn and the dream home.
21:10This is all handmade tile.
21:12You can see it's gorgeous.
21:14This is a mosaic tile that we are going to put as the top of the table Dave will build.
21:21Here's your edge.
21:22And we're trying to decide.
21:23We have this tile here.
21:25Okay.
21:26Which, again, I've got to go get one-inch steel.
21:29This is two-inch.
21:30Remember, this is like on the dock, alfresco dining, by the lake.
21:34It's very soft.
21:35I think this is it.
21:36I think it's so pretty.
21:37We have the tabletop decided.
21:39We have some beautiful mosaic tile.
21:40Dave's going to build the actual top where we'll lay the tile in.
21:44And then for the legs, we'll repurpose some steel that he can then weld into the legs.
21:49It also needs to look old.
21:51That's what I love about that tile.
21:52So it looks like an antique piece of furniture that will be really beautiful for this alfresco dining.
21:58Work is continuing at Debbie Neiman's house.
22:08The guys are installing the trim.
22:11And we're seeing good progress in Debbie's main closet and bathroom suite.
22:17Hello.
22:18How are you?
22:19I'm great.
22:20How are you?
22:21Good.
22:22I'm Jenny.
22:23Great.
22:24I'm Beth.
22:25Nice to meet you.
22:26Hey, Beth.
22:27I'm Dave.
22:28Hi, Dave.
22:29Nice to meet you.
22:30Thank you for coming in.
22:31Oh, this is so awesome.
22:32Now, how long have you been here?
22:33I didn't even know you were here.
22:34Just moved to this location, but I've been in the area for 15 years.
22:36Oh, okay.
22:37Well, we have some plans.
22:38Oh, okay.
22:39So we're wanting to make a piece of furniture.
22:41So we're going to make a piece of furniture.
22:44Well, we have some plans.
22:45Oh, okay.
22:46So we're wanting to make a piece of stained glass art.
22:49Dave is also a stained glass artiste.
22:51Great.
22:52Beth, I took some classes in college.
22:53Awesome.
22:54Just a few short years ago.
22:55And so we wanted to make a piece for a homeowner that we're working with on a renovation.
22:59Her and her husband had been looking for a house out on the lake for many years.
23:03They finally found one, and he actually unexpectedly passed away.
23:06And she is now continuing with their plans to renovate this home and make it what they wanted it to be together.
23:12Okay, wonderful.
23:13So this, I want it to be very natural.
23:15It's kind of like the lake and the sunset and the sky.
23:18So do you want to pick some colors then?
23:21Sure.
23:22Glasses over here.
23:23Good supplies.
23:24Dave has fixed pieces of stained glass before that we found in old homes, so a historic glass.
23:29But I don't know that he's ever actually made a piece.
23:32I don't know.
23:33He says he has in college, but that was a very long time ago.
23:36But we'll pick out some glass here and work on it later at the barn.
23:39Hey, Jen, what about something like this for the mountains?
23:41It kind of has that Ozark Mountain look.
23:43Oh, that's a little bit too much.
23:46It feels a little bit like a peacock.
23:48No offense to the glass.
23:50I like this one.
23:51I feel like that's bright.
23:52Yeah, too bright.
23:53Yeah.
23:54That's a little too veiny, a little too much movement.
23:56There's this kind of thing.
23:58Where are you leaning color-wise?
24:01Oh, wait.
24:02I know you said too bright.
24:03This is very difficult.
24:04We don't want to be...
24:05That's too wavy.
24:07I feel like the biggest issue to getting this done is going to be standing right behind you.
24:17How are you going to cut these little pieces?
24:19I'm so confused on how this works, to be perfectly honest.
24:21It's a glass cutter.
24:22You make a pattern and then you lay them on the glass and then you trace around and that
24:26gives you...
24:27It's like a puzzle.
24:28...where you cut.
24:29Okay.
24:30I feel good about this.
24:31What about this for like the mountains?
24:32I feel like we've got sky, water, and mountains.
24:36I think that's great.
24:37How are you going to be able to do this?
24:38I can do this.
24:40I don't think it's going to be that bad.
24:42Sometimes Jenny, she's not an artist.
24:44She's a designer and it's a different thing.
24:47What'd you say?
24:48Nothing.
24:49What did you say?
24:51I'm not an artist.
24:52I'm not an artist.
24:53I know I'm not.
24:54Anything else you would recommend I get from you while I'm in here?
24:57No, that's it.
24:58See, this is why I love glass is stained glass.
25:01The technology, the only thing that's really improved since the 1400s is that grinder.
25:07Yeah.
25:08That's it.
25:09So everything that I use and do is what they used to do way, way back.
25:13And I just love that.
25:14I love that too.
25:15How do you feel knowing that your husband does a craft that's been done since...
25:18You're basically like Michelangelo over here.
25:21You're basically the sculptor of the David at this moment.
25:23Nice.
25:24Maybe that's why you're named David.
25:25That's right.
25:26We're here at Neiman.
25:31We have the stone on the house.
25:34It looks so good.
25:35We have the dormer up.
25:37All the cabinetry is here.
25:40And in the living room, we're bringing in the stone that we used on the exterior to the fireplace,
25:45giving this whole lakeside cottage a fresh feel.
25:48Are you ready?
25:49Yeah.
25:50You have the gift or do you want me to grab it?
25:51Yeah, I've got it.
25:52Hi.
25:53Oh my gosh.
25:54You're good.
25:55How are you?
25:56Dave and Jetty are here.
25:57I'm good.
25:58Hi.
25:59Oh my gosh.
26:00Congratulations.
26:01Oh my gosh.
26:03Oh my gosh.
26:04What's up?
26:05Hello.
26:06How are you?
26:07How are you?
26:08Dave and Jetty are here.
26:09I'm good.
26:10Hi.
26:11Oh my gosh.
26:12Congratulations.
26:13Oh my gosh.
26:14Hey guys.
26:15What's up?
26:16How are you?
26:17Hey, how are you guys?
26:18Oh my gosh.
26:19Congratulations.
26:21Thank you so much.
26:22Hey, congrats.
26:23Thank you so much.
26:24You guys are so sweet.
26:25Got a little gift for you guys.
26:26Just dropping this by.
26:27Oh, thank you.
26:28A duck.
26:29A duck.
26:30Are you going to be a duck?
26:31And how's he doing?
26:32Is he eating and sleeping and all the things?
26:34Doing all the baby things.
26:35Yeah.
26:36How's your mom doing?
26:37Is she getting...
26:38Well, I'm sure she's just fine.
26:39She doesn't care about the house because she's got the baby.
26:41I'll be honest.
26:42She asks if we can go over to the house and snoop every once in a while and I'm like,
26:45can't do it, Mom.
26:46Nice.
26:47Oh, I love it.
26:48It's looking incredible.
26:49I don't even know where the time's gone because it feels like we were at the house yesterday.
26:52And you were having a baby.
26:53And I'm like, well, that was like three months ago.
26:55Yeah.
26:56I'm like, okay.
26:57Well, there's a whole baby here now.
26:58It's a whole new life.
26:59Well, we'll be done pretty soon.
27:00Well, congratulations.
27:01We will leave you.
27:02See you guys.
27:03All right.
27:04Bye.
27:05Bye, guys.
27:06Debbie's new grandbaby has arrived.
27:07So we're picking up the pace at her house to try to get it done in just three weeks so
27:10she can be close to her family.
27:12Paint is happening.
27:13The bar is underway with the green tile I had being installed.
27:17Kitchen countertops are going in.
27:19That's a big piece of countertop.
27:22This place is coming together.
27:25Let's keep going.
27:26How's it going?
27:33It's going pretty good.
27:35This color is so pretty.
27:37Is the color pretty or is the work that your amazing husband did pretty?
27:43Yeah.
27:44So basically what I'm doing is I'm not following these lines exactly because once I started
27:50doing this, I realized it doesn't really matter if the lines are exact because I can make these
27:57seams wherever I want.
27:58So even though I just broke that piece.
28:00Mm-hmm.
28:01It'll work.
28:02It'll work.
28:03This is like doing a puzzle, which is basically torture.
28:05So what is this thing?
28:06That's my grinder.
28:07That's an old, it's like a relic.
28:10That came from the 14th century.
28:15You want to try to grind?
28:16No.
28:17Come on.
28:18I just don't want to.
28:19I know you, I know there's an artistic side in there.
28:21I know there is an artistic side.
28:22You could just let out.
28:23I picked out the colors.
28:24You're not able to pick out colors.
28:25You can cut and paste.
28:26I can pick out the colors.
28:27That's my art.
28:28I think you just insulted me.
28:29You insulted me first.
28:31All right.
28:32I'm going back to work.
28:35This stained glass project I thought would be really, really special for Debbie and I
28:39want it to be really peaceful and beautiful and evoke a calming emotion, not like a stark
28:45in-your-face jarring emotion.
28:48Yes.
28:49See what you think of the sun.
28:50Okay.
28:51I think I'm close.
28:52Oh, it's so pretty.
28:53I think the color's perfect.
28:55I feel really good about this now.
28:59We've got about two weeks left on the Neiman house.
29:03We're putting in new lighting.
29:05We've got hardware to install.
29:08We have a fireplace.
29:10Let's go.
29:11We've got, I mean, we're moving along.
29:12We're close.
29:13We're close.
29:16So nice and clean.
29:18Perfect.
29:19Are we all set in the pantry?
29:22Oh, yeah.
29:23It looks so cute.
29:24I can't wait to put the vending machine in.
29:25Are we going to do that today?
29:26Yeah.
29:27I'm not looking forward to this one.
29:29I know.
29:30Oh.
29:31Okay.
29:32Twist.
29:33We're going to have to lay it down to go in the door.
29:40I didn't realize it would be this difficult to get this thing in here.
29:44Still a good idea, though.
29:46It's a really cute vending machine.
29:48Do you want me to hold the strap?
29:52Oh, you're doing, oh, wow.
29:53Is that your side?
29:54Yeah.
29:55How are you guys going to fit through the door?
29:56You're not going to fit.
29:57I'm not going to fit that out yet.
29:58Man, that's heavy.
29:59Dave, you're going to get it on those pipes.
30:01Get on hernia.
30:02Oh, my gosh.
30:03Is it on there, Jen?
30:04Yes, it's on.
30:05Hey, now take and push that other pipe a little closer.
30:07Like that?
30:08Yep.
30:09Okay.
30:10Okay.
30:11Now hold on.
30:12Let us get on the inside with the straps.
30:14Huh.
30:15This might work.
30:16Where there's a will, there's a way.
30:18I'm impressed.
30:19Okay.
30:20Do you need the strap?
30:21Oh, you got it.
30:22Okay.
30:23Okay.
30:24Now you need another one.
30:26Hey, hold on.
30:27Oh!
30:28Now you need another one.
30:29Oh!
30:30Hey, hold on.
30:31Oh!
30:32Now you need another one.
30:33Hey, hold on.
30:34Oh!
30:35I think Chris just laughs.
30:38Okay.
30:39Good?
30:40Yep.
30:41I think we're going to clear by about a quarter of an inch.
30:48Yeah.
30:49Yeah.
30:50Yeah.
30:51We're good.
30:52We're good.
30:53Oh!
30:54Look!
30:55Oh my gosh.
30:56It's so cute.
30:57It's pretty cool.
30:58I like it.
30:59You guys did great.
31:00Good job.
31:01Man, the color is perfect.
31:02Looks good.
31:03So we've got the table for Brian and the HGTV Dream Home.
31:17All built.
31:18Did a steel table with the tile that Jenny wanted.
31:21She picked out a grout that just matches.
31:24You can kind of see the white that's in there right now.
31:28So something that just matches that.
31:30So I'm going to just grout this stuff in, sponge it off, and then silicone the edges and get this thing in the mail.
31:38How stinking pretty is this table?
31:41Looks so good.
31:42You did such a good job.
31:44I think Brian's going to love it, don't you?
31:47Whoever wins the house is going to love it.
31:48Do you think they'll change the name of the competition to the Dream Home and Table giveaway?
31:53No, I think they'll call it the HGTV Dream Table.
31:56And home.
31:57And if you win, you get this house.
31:59All right, the table is done.
32:02It's taken apart.
32:04We're packing it up.
32:05We're going to ship it off to North Carolina to the Dream Home.
32:08There we go.
32:18Jenny, right here, right?
32:20Mm-hmm.
32:21Man, it does kind of look like the mountains beyond.
32:23Uh-huh.
32:24Gosh.
32:25I have to admit, Dave exceeded expectations.
32:27I wasn't so sure how this stained glass would come out.
32:30Hey, actually, did you go back to the shop and have her help you?
32:33Or did you really do this by yourself?
32:35100% me.
32:37Okay, good job.
32:39When we started this, it was in hopes that they could remember their dad, like with the sunlight coming through the stained glass.
32:45Let's try it.
32:47Oh, be careful.
32:49Do you like that?
32:50Actually, it's perfect, I think.
32:51What do you think?
32:52Picasso?
32:53I think if you're happy, I'm happy.
32:55All right, should we go get the game table?
32:57Bring that in?
32:58Sure.
33:00All right, keep going.
33:01Let's get you level.
33:02Let's get you level.
33:03Why are you making fun of me?
33:05I'm trying to help him out.
33:06I don't know.
33:07He's just really funny to me for some reason.
33:09Hi.
33:10What's up?
33:11There we go.
33:12Oh, it's so pretty.
33:13The finish looks great.
33:14Yeah, it came out really pretty.
33:15All right, let's bring it in.
33:16Oh, that dude has not gotten any lighter, though.
33:18All right.
33:19It is very heavy.
33:20I'm going to pull around this way.
33:22Yep.
33:23I was trying to help, but I don't think I really helped you at all.
33:26There we go.
33:27I was just making the noise.
33:28It looked like I was helping.
33:29Dave and Austin built this beautiful walnut table for the game room here at Debbie Neiman's.
33:36Right into that room there.
33:38They love playing games as a family, so this table will be the centerpiece of the game room,
33:42where they will enjoy card games and board games and all the things.
33:46All right.
33:47I mean, this is perfect.
33:48It's like the room was built around the table.
33:50Yeah.
33:51I love it.
33:52This is awesome.
33:53It came out pretty.
33:54Good room.
33:55Nice.
33:56So it's you.
33:57I don't even care if you do the two.
33:59Doesn't that look so cute?
34:00Yeah, does that work?
34:01Camp Dee Dee.
34:02Yep.
34:03That little step stool is pretty slick, too.
34:04I know.
34:05It's to get here for the...
34:06Built for kids.
34:07Or Dave.
34:08Yeah.
34:09Oh, my gosh, babe.
34:10Look at this view.
34:11Oh, and your stained glass looks so good with the light coming in.
34:12She does.
34:13It turned out nice.
34:14It looks so good.
34:15Perfect.
34:16Hey, will you turn that lamp on?
34:17Yes.
34:18I got all the pillows, like, all set.
34:19Is this good?
34:20Is this good?
34:21Yeah.
34:22Yeah.
34:23Yeah.
34:24Yeah.
34:25Yeah.
34:26Yeah.
34:27Yeah.
34:28Yeah.
34:29Yeah.
34:30Yeah.
34:31Yeah.
34:32Yeah.
34:33Yeah.
34:34Yeah.
34:35Yeah.
34:36Yeah.
34:37The little pillows, like, all set.
34:38Is this good?
34:39I had done these before, but good job, babe, if you did.
34:42Cozy.
34:46I am so excited.
34:47This is going to look phenomenal.
34:49I know.
34:50I've got butterflies in my stomach.
34:51I know.
34:52Heart rate is jacked.
34:53I'm sort of in shock.
34:54Like, this really is not happening to me.
34:57Yeah.
34:58I cannot be this lucky.
35:01Oh.
35:02Look at this.
35:03Oh.
35:04Oh, my gosh.
35:05Oh, that is so much better.
35:06Oh, my God.
35:07Guys.
35:08Oh, I love this already.
35:09Hello.
35:10Okay.
35:11I said I wasn't going to cry.
35:12Aw.
35:13Hello.
35:14Okay.
35:15I said I wasn't going to cry.
35:16Aw.
35:17Hello.
35:18Okay.
35:19I said I wasn't going to cry.
35:20Aw.
35:21Oh, my gosh.
35:22Good to see you, babe.
35:23Great to see you.
35:24Oh, my God.
35:25This is so beautiful.
35:27What do you think about the stone?
35:28I love it.
35:29All three of the same concept.
35:30The stone.
35:31Yeah.
35:32The dormer is incredible.
35:33Yes.
35:34I know.
35:35It gives it some dimension because it used to be all roof.
35:36Yes.
35:37Yeah.
35:38And it now looks like this, like, little cottage.
35:39We've got the shutters and the window boxes.
35:40The new windows.
35:41Love it.
35:42A new front door, which I don't even think you've seen yet.
35:44No.
35:45Oh, wow.
35:46Oh, wow.
35:47You like the door?
35:48Beautiful.
35:49Don't look in the window.
35:50This is such a gosh.
35:51It's a cottage look.
35:52Yes.
35:53Oh, it's gorgeous.
35:54I always wanted it.
35:55Oh, it's gorgeous.
35:56I always wanted it.
35:57It's beautiful.
35:58It's beautiful.
35:59It's beautiful.
36:00It's beautiful.
36:01It's beautiful.
36:02It's beautiful.
36:03It's beautiful.
36:04It's beautiful.
36:05It's beautiful.
36:06It's beautiful.
36:07It's gorgeous.
36:08I always wanted a dutch.
36:09Oh, yay.
36:10I'm so bad.
36:11If this was the end of it, I would overjoy.
36:14Oh, we have so much more.
36:16So much more.
36:17I am overjoyed at this point.
36:19Yes.
36:20All right.
36:21Go ahead and have fun.
36:22Oh, my gosh.
36:23Oh, wow.
36:24Wow.
36:25It's gorgeous.
36:26Look at the fireplace.
36:27I love it.
36:28Look at the fireplace.
36:29The fireplace.
36:30Yes.
36:31I love that bookshelf.
36:33You know, obviously, this used to be the screened-in porch, so we opened all this, connected
36:37the spaces.
36:38I'm so excited.
36:39I want to go home.
36:40Oh, I'm so glad.
36:42You all just outdid yourself.
36:45Oh.
36:46Well, I know this is a long time coming and a big dream for you and Greg as well.
36:51Yes.
36:52To be able to enjoy with your kids and grandkids and his memories here.
36:56Yes.
36:57And I have this feeling right now just to keep walking to the window.
37:00Yes.
37:01Yes.
37:02Let's go to the window then.
37:03That's how it's been this whole time.
37:04It's just that view is so stunning.
37:06I mean, oh, my gosh.
37:07Oh, my gosh.
37:08Look at this.
37:09Look at this.
37:10Go see it.
37:12Do you believe this word?
37:14This is what I wanted so bad.
37:16This is beautiful.
37:17Before we go in the kitchen, I would like to point something out.
37:20You guys did talk about this is where you and your dad spent a lot of time and had a lot
37:23of good memories.
37:24And so Dave actually made this stained glass piece that we put right here.
37:28Oh, my gosh.
37:29A mirror reflection of the lake.
37:30Thank you so much.
37:31Yeah, but in memory of your dad.
37:32That's awesome.
37:33Thank you so much for that.
37:34That was very thoughtful.
37:35Thank you, Dave.
37:36You're welcome.
37:37Gorgeous.
37:38Yeah.
37:39It is gorgeous.
37:40All right.
37:41Now go check out the kitchen.
37:42Yes.
37:43Okay.
37:44Oh, my goodness.
37:45I am in love with this.
37:47This kitchen is very classic and timeless.
37:50Debbie.
37:51Oh, Cam Didi.
37:53That is so cute.
37:54Yes.
37:55That is really cute.
37:56This countertop was determined by the widest slab of material we could get.
38:01So we're like, we've got the room.
38:03Let's go as the biggest, widest slab we can get.
38:06That's what we'll make it.
38:07I like that line of thinking.
38:08The spread we could lay out here.
38:10I mean, you guys have created like the ultimate hosting house.
38:13We're going to have to kick people out.
38:15Ultimate family house.
38:16Speaking of hosting, we do have like a lot more hosting spaces.
38:20Yes.
38:21We've got to go around the corner here.
38:22Yeah, there's one.
38:23Really?
38:24I can't imagine.
38:27Oh, my God.
38:31What is this?
38:33Okay.
38:34All right.
38:35This is hilarious.
38:36It's hysterical.
38:37You had me a chocolate chip cookie.
38:39I mean.
38:40Look at all the kid pouches.
38:42So you key it in.
38:43You also key in the price.
38:45Yeah.
38:46You can put prices on here.
38:47Well, like two hugs and a kiss.
38:50Yeah.
38:51That's a good idea.
38:52And then it bends right for you.
38:54Yeah.
38:55I love that.
38:56It's a working vending machine.
38:57That is amazing.
38:58And your own swag.
38:59Yeah.
39:00Yeah.
39:01That's what I said.
39:02It can't be on everything.
39:03I love that.
39:04And we thought, consider putting doors on here.
39:06But I wanted it to be really beautiful.
39:07So we went with this like taupe.
39:08Yeah.
39:09It has a little pink undertones.
39:10A little bit of a rose.
39:11So I think it's just a really pretty and fun space.
39:14Yeah.
39:15That we wanted to leave open.
39:16I think it's hysterical.
39:17I love it.
39:18OK.
39:19So we have more spaces.
39:20We'll just go straight out.
39:21Take a left again.
39:22OK.
39:23Oh, wow.
39:24Oh, I love that.
39:25Oh, look at the arch.
39:26This is beautiful.
39:27Oh.
39:28So you have the space in there for the kids.
39:29And then when you're entertaining, you can have the bar set for the adults.
39:32The wood is gorgeous.
39:33Yes.
39:34We put in the walnut and the dark green tiles.
39:36And green.
39:37One of my favorite mellows.
39:38Yes.
39:39I know.
39:40I know.
39:41I love it.
39:42You also said you guys love to play games together.
39:43Yes.
39:44So we also created another space specifically for you guys to come in and hang out and game.
39:48Oh, wow.
39:49Look at these chairs.
39:51Poker night.
39:52I love this table.
39:53You like the table?
39:54Yes.
39:55I built that for you.
39:56Did you?
39:57Oh, my gosh.
39:58We had to have something that was specific for this room.
40:01Jenny wanted to keep the dark walnut.
40:03This is gorgeous.
40:04This is amazing.
40:05Yeah.
40:06So you've got a nice game table.
40:07That's unbelievable.
40:08This is gorgeous.
40:09Isn't it beautiful?
40:10That is.
40:11Oh.
40:12Okay.
40:13So now we have your bedroom still.
40:14You ready for that?
40:15We still have that.
40:16Yeah, there's more.
40:17Let's go.
40:18All right.
40:19Okay.
40:20After you.
40:21Oh, wow.
40:22You're kidding me.
40:23Absolutely.
40:24You're kidding me.
40:25Look at this.
40:26Beautiful.
40:27Look at this bed.
40:28Look at my view.
40:29That's when I wake up.
40:30Amazing.
40:31We talked about colors in here.
40:33I wanted this to be really soft and soothing and peaceful.
40:36It feels very airy.
40:37Yeah.
40:38So you remember before you didn't enter your bedroom.
40:40Yes.
40:41No.
40:42You had to go down a long hallway.
40:43We called it the Hall of Mirrors.
40:44It was the Hall of Mirrors.
40:45Yes.
40:46There's nothing I don't like.
40:48Oh, wow.
40:49Oh, man.
40:50Oh, okay.
40:51Look at this storage space.
40:52I have never had such a.
40:55Oh, I love this for you.
40:57It was a closet, but you don't want a closet exposed that everybody has to walk through.
41:02So now it's private.
41:03And closing off that wall gave us more storage, which is wonderful for a closet.
41:07So you got lots of space.
41:08That's right.
41:09Let's go look at your bathroom.
41:10Yeah.
41:11Oh, wow.
41:12Look at this.
41:13Look at the walnut cabinets.
41:16Oh, my gosh.
41:19Another perfect room.
41:20Look at the shower.
41:22I love the tile, but I love the size.
41:25A nice big shower and a soaking tub.
41:28And again, bringing in that walnut that we have there at the house so it feels traditional,
41:32but modern.
41:33This is just gorgeous.
41:34And you have a separate water closet now, so a proper door.
41:39Should we go say goodbye?
41:40I think you got to take over your place now.
41:42Yeah.
41:43It's about here.
41:44I think Dave and Jenny hit it out of the ballpark, as they say.
41:48This whole house really is in honor of Greg.
41:51He always said in the beginning, he bought it for me.
41:55It turned out he loved it.
41:58We'll see you later.
41:59Enjoy.
42:00Okay, bye.
42:01Bye-bye.
42:02Thank you again.
42:03I know my dad's really happy with this house because he always wanted to take care of my mom.
42:07He always wanted to give her this house.
42:09And now that it's here, I know he can see it.
42:12It's going to be an opportunity to bring our family together.
42:14Hi.
42:15Welcome.
42:16Hey, guys.
42:17The thought they put in.
42:19Dave made a gorgeous round table in the game room.
42:23And y'all play a lot of games.
42:25Yeah, we play a lot of games.
42:26Just beautiful.
42:28And then the stained glass.
42:30When we'd go to our church, we had beautiful stained glass windows.
42:34And Greg would always say, pick one piece in the stained glass, and that's your piece.
42:41We're all going to have pieces.
42:43It is absolutely beautiful.
42:46We thought the view was nice before.
42:48That's what I said.
42:49It looks so much better without screens.
42:52That's the thing as you get older in life that you gravitate to.
42:56The things that you know are going to be priceless.
42:59You did look like a guy.
43:00You did.
43:01You cared.
43:02I had fun with her.
43:03Well, three, one, one.
43:04You were.
43:05Thank you, ר
