00:00So this may unravel faster than a hen without a backstitch, but let's find out.
00:05Are you alright, Patrick?
00:07I have a terrible feeling.
00:09About what?
00:10Like, we've forgotten something.
00:12I don't think so, we've taken care of everything.
00:15We've forgotten.
00:17It's me!
00:21Welcome to the Sewing Bee Christmas Special.
00:24Four celebrities have arrived at Sewing Bee's HQ in Leeds.
00:30One, two, three.
00:32Aiming for top marks in fashion.
00:35I think you'll find Craig will want that back rather soon.
00:37Well, he's not having it.
00:39They're undertaking three challenges.
00:42A Christmas present sack.
00:43Cheers!
00:44Fun fancy dress.
00:47I'm absolutely quackers.
00:49And outfits inspired by their favourite seasonal treat.
00:52So dessert's for the eyes.
00:54Who will get their groove on?
00:56All the jelly goes, all the jelly goes.
00:58Oh!
00:59And who's slip-up?
01:01Disaster.
01:01Snaps.
01:02Will end up a fashion flop.
01:04Do you like it?
01:05I think you've definitely got the edgy number.
01:08Christmas has landed in our sewing room.
01:32Joining us for some festive fun are professional dancer and Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Debeck.
01:40I love Christmas.
01:42I wish I was one of those people who could start buying presents in June.
01:46But I'm not.
01:48I start buying presents on the 23rd of December.
01:51It's not Christmas unless you're running around with your hair on fire.
01:54Going, ah!
01:55I haven't got any more presents.
01:56Oh, no.
01:57Christmas Day.
01:58Now you're doing Christmas Day.
01:59Comedian Lucy Beaumont.
02:01Christmas Day, there's usually some sort of argument, but nothing too major.
02:07It calms everybody down.
02:08We do that.
02:16Oh, my God.
02:18Actor and writer Susan Wakoma.
02:20Christmas gives a point to it being cold.
02:23I love big coats.
02:26And gladiator Tom Wilson, a.k.a. Hammer.
02:35I want to show people gladiators can sew.
02:38From jewel to the sewing machine, I can do it.
02:46Merry Christmas, one and all.
02:49Celebrity sewers, please come forward.
02:51So, I'm your host, Sophie.
02:59I'm pregnant.
02:59I'm practically the Virgin Mary.
03:01Without the barn, the donkey, or the virginity.
03:04Let's be honest.
03:05Yeah.
03:06Are you ready?
03:07I'm ready.
03:08So ready.
03:09It's that time of year.
03:11You're going to make some terrible life choices at the Christmas office party.
03:14You will, I think.
03:16I've got my eye on you.
03:17Yes, I will.
03:18I can tell.
03:19Yeah, you're wild, I know.
03:20But until then, we're going to sew.
03:23Esme, what are we doing first?
03:25Right, here we go.
03:26Pass them round.
03:28Thank you very much.
03:29Oh, okay.
03:29With a drawstring closure and a lining.
03:40Lining?
03:40Yeah.
03:41Is it absolutely necessary?
03:42Yes.
03:43Okay, just checking.
03:44Cheating already?
03:46You'll find loads of coloured fabric in the haberdashery,
03:49and there's festive embellishments on the cutting table,
03:52with which to Christmasify your sacks.
03:56Because we know that Christmas is not all about presents.
03:59It's about the fabulous sacks that they come in.
04:02So, are you ready to pimp your sacks?
04:04Oh, I'm ready.
04:05Are you ready, Anton?
04:06Yes.
04:07Fabulous, okay.
04:09Right, you've got two hours.
04:11Your time starts now.
04:13Now, here we go.
04:15As time is of the essence,
04:16the celebrities need to think fast as well as festive
04:19when choosing both their fabric...
04:21It is with you, lads.
04:23..and their decorations.
04:26That one.
04:28An electric print.
04:29I'm very traditional, so I love this.
04:32This is Christmas.
04:32And if my children were to wake up with a Christmas sack like this
04:35at the end of their bed, they'd be delighted.
04:39So, what have they got to do, then?
04:42We've asked them to make a Christmas present sack.
04:45Think how many presents will go in this bag.
04:48Yeah, so do you think the bigger the better than Esme?
04:51Yes.
04:52Fabulous.
04:52We could almost fit Esme in this sack.
04:54I was thinking that.
04:55That would be the best present, wouldn't it?
04:57So, a bottle of sherry and Esme pops out.
04:59Yeah.
04:59So, what are all the elements that they have to do?
05:02Well, you've got the outside of the bag, you've got a lining,
05:07and then you've got cords.
05:10They might not choose the easiest fabric.
05:12They might go for something sparkly and fun-looking,
05:14which would be tricky to sew.
05:15And you've got decoration.
05:17It's important you express yourself.
05:21You express yourself through your sack.
05:27My job as a gladiator is being up there, knocking people down.
05:30It's pretty heavy-handed, so pinning fabric is a challenge.
05:35I've never made a sack before, but I've made an oven glove.
05:40They're quite different, actually.
05:42Last time I went on the cemetery was about 35 years ago.
05:46We used to make our own costumes.
05:48Basically, love this.
05:50All righty, come on!
05:53The Christmas present sack is made from four pattern pieces.
05:58First, the top band pieces are stitched
06:00to the top and bottom edges of the main panel.
06:03Then it's time to decorate.
06:06Next, the lining is attached to each top band piece,
06:10creating a big loop.
06:11A gap is left in one of the seams for turning out later.
06:16Then the sides are sewn, leaving a gap for the cord.
06:19The sack is then turned right side out
06:22and the opening is stitched closed.
06:25Good morning!
06:26Morning!
06:27Cracking on!
06:28You've got a plan for embellishing it?
06:30Yes, so every Christmas,
06:31I spend it in Lancaster with friends of mine.
06:34And we drink martinis.
06:35So that is what's going to be the embellishment on the front.
06:38Ooh!
06:39Yeah!
06:40She is certainly keen on a Christmas martini.
06:42Have you done any of this sort of stuff before?
06:45None at all.
06:45That's brave of you to come on.
06:47Well, doubly brave,
06:48because you've chosen a slippery sequin fabric,
06:50which is really hard to sew.
06:51It is really hard to sew.
06:52You're right.
06:53That seems like madness.
06:55Madness!
06:55Well, I've made something for madness.
06:58Yeah.
07:00That sucks.
07:02Oh!
07:04Just name drop.
07:05What's Christmas if it's not a massive, clanging name drop?
07:09Clang!
07:10While Susan's gambling on sophisticated sequins.
07:14Hello.
07:15This looks good.
07:16I like leopard print.
07:18Lucy's gone for something saucy.
07:20Well, I'm going to tell a story,
07:22because my mum used to have a nightdress like that.
07:24It's meant to be, you know,
07:25when Mummy kisses Santa Claus,
07:27that song, like, a take on that.
07:29I saw Mummy kissing...
07:33The inside of it is meant to be Father Christmas.
07:37Mm.
07:37So it's a bit like your mum sleeping with Santa in the 90s.
07:41I'm very sorry.
07:43Good luck.
07:44Oh, thank you, sir.
07:45Fabulous.
07:47It's delivering up to sew.
07:50Right sides.
07:51Ah!
07:52Right sides together.
07:54Stitch the top band.
07:55I'm absolutely terrified.
07:57My first step.
07:59Oh, this is exciting.
08:01The first job is to sew the top band to the main fabric.
08:04That's so cool.
08:05A gladiator on a sewing machine.
08:08This is just where it's meant to be.
08:09But the celebrities will have to hang tough.
08:12Ooh!
08:14As even delicate sewing has its own dangerous obstacles.
08:18Men's get in the way, don't they?
08:20They're moving with me.
08:22I feel like I'm on Coronation Street, you know, that factory.
08:26While this isn't a soap, there's certainly room for slip-ups.
08:30Careful of the sequins.
08:31Ooh, God, that's slipped out underneath.
08:34Especially with Susan's slippery fabric.
08:36The sequins are hard.
08:39Esme and Patrick weren't lying.
08:40Hello, Anton.
08:43How are we doing?
08:43You look very studious.
08:45I have to tell you, I'm terribly excited.
08:47My children will love this.
08:49How many kids have you, Kyle?
08:50Two.
08:50I've got a boy and a girl.
08:51Eight now.
08:52Right.
08:52Which makes Christmas even more feminine.
08:54That is fun, isn't it?
08:55Do you dress up as Santa?
08:56Yeah, there's a photograph of me being Santa Claus.
08:58Right.
08:58Very thin, athletic Santa, aren't you?
09:00Well, I try to.
09:01Actually, I am also quite good at moving.
09:05I can do a twerk.
09:06Can you now?
09:07But I'd like to learn some ballroom.
09:09Would you?
09:10Yeah.
09:11You go back with your left foot.
09:12So you go back, side, together, forward, side, together.
09:17I feel amazing.
09:18Back, sitting.
09:18You look like a swan.
09:19You do feel amazing.
09:22Shall I quickly show you the twerk?
09:23Yeah.
09:24The best thing to do, Anton, imagine you're getting electrocuted.
09:27Let me give that a thought.
09:29Hang on.
09:29And it's like it's coming at you.
09:30Right.
09:32And his legs are shaking.
09:33And you're trying to get away, but you just can't.
09:36See, you're just searching.
09:37Okay.
09:38And then all the jelly goes.
09:39All the jelly goes.
09:41That's it.
09:42Yeah.
09:43Yeah.
09:43Yeah.
09:44Ah.
09:46See you for Christmas party.
09:47All right-o.
09:48Let's make some mistakes.
09:55Just like the wise men, you've got a long journey ahead and no sat-nav.
09:59You're halfway there.
10:02Oh, my God.
10:03We're looking good.
10:04You've done this before, haven't you?
10:05No, I've not.
10:06Yeah, you have.
10:07Having attached their top bands, it's time for our novice sewing stars to stitch on their decorations.
10:14Sorry, did I say stitch?
10:15I mean iron.
10:17Martini glass.
10:18I'm going for traditional Christmas design for my new nephew.
10:32My sister's had a lovely boy called Grayson.
10:34Well, I know Grayson Perry.
10:36Oh, do you?
10:37More name-dropping.
10:38Yeah, name-dropping there.
10:41I'm going to sew tinsel, so this is going to be the martini liquid.
10:45Oh.
10:46It's too fast.
10:47Watch your foot thing.
10:48That's the technical term, the foot thing.
10:50A pedal.
10:51I feel like I'm in a band when I do that.
10:53While Susan pushes herself in the name of glamour...
10:56Hello.
10:57Hello, hello.
10:58Lucy's saucy leopard print design is ready for a sneak preview.
11:03Do you like what I'm doing?
11:04Personally, I'm not sure that just a leopard print sack, that just, ma'am, screams Christmas.
11:12It's meant to be, you know that song, I Saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus?
11:15Oh, yeah.
11:16But feels like he's gone a bit seedy.
11:21Wise men, how are you doing?
11:23Tired?
11:24Confused?
11:25Following a light in the sky that you hope is a weather spoon?
11:29You've got 30 minutes left.
11:33Currently sewing the lining.
11:35It's inside out.
11:36With the lining attached to the sack inside out,
11:39there's one input and step for the sewers to remember.
11:42And you must leave a gap in the seam.
11:45The gap enables the sack to be turned the right way.
11:48Oh, I've made a bit of a boo-boo.
11:50This is closed.
11:51But Lucy has sewn us together.
11:54It's all going on here.
11:56I'm going to unpick it.
11:58I'm about to pull this through, this little gap.
12:00It looks a bit like when you get stuck with a duvet.
12:03While the other celebrities turn their sacks the right way...
12:06Can she do it?
12:07Will she do it?
12:09She's doing it.
12:11Brilliant.
12:12Lucy's left looking for an opening.
12:15Surely there's the technology to not have to do this.
12:19The need to invent a machine for unpicking.
12:22Tom, this is quite a sight, I have to say.
12:25Seeing a gladiator intricately sewing a pattern.
12:28So is this a hammer here?
12:30This is a hammer.
12:31This is to remind myself who I am.
12:33How tall are you?
12:34Six foot six.
12:35How tall are you?
12:35Five foot three.
12:36Let me stand up.
12:37Hey, my bum just fits completely just above yours.
12:39Oh, God, yeah.
12:40No, it's really comfortable.
12:41I know.
12:41It's really comfortable.
12:42Can you just follow me around like this?
12:43I'm just staying here.
12:44It's fabulous.
12:44I've finished unpicking.
12:46I might just have a break.
12:50I've been...
12:51I feel like we've been here years.
12:53Hurry up, wise men.
12:54The baby's crowning.
12:55We've got 15 minutes.
12:57I'm trying to pull the drawstring through and it's getting constantly caught.
13:03The cord needs to be threaded through the narrow channels.
13:06Last time I'd pulled the cord through, it was my children's swim costumes.
13:11In actual fact, my wife's swimming costume.
13:14We're nearly there.
13:15I think I can do this.
13:17But Lucy's still battling with her bag.
13:20If I finish it...
13:21It's going to be a miracle.
13:23Right, we've got ten minutes.
13:25Oh, my gosh.
13:26Now I'm going to tart it up.
13:28How about bells?
13:31Esme, I'm just adding to me.
13:33Lovely big bow.
13:34You know.
13:35You know it.
13:37How much time have we got left?
13:39One minute left.
13:42Terrifying.
13:43Keep it up.
13:43Fosse, fosse.
13:44Ooh, ooh, ooh.
13:45Fosse, fosse.
13:46Come on, come on, come on.
13:47Jazz hands, jazz hands.
13:49So, so, so.
13:50Piece of resistance.
13:51Bow.
13:53Get some bells on.
13:54I hear bells.
13:55Perfect.
13:56Oh.
13:57It's just awful.
14:00Needles on the sewers.
14:02It may be the most wonderful time of the year,
14:05but your time is up.
14:07Whoa.
14:08I could actually do one of them martini, Susie.
14:10I know, right?
14:11The candle was homemade.
14:12Wow.
14:13Think arts and crafts.
14:14That's great.
14:14And you've got bells on it.
14:16I like bells.
14:17That's really cool, isn't it?
14:18I saw it a bit messy,
14:20but it's an actual sack.
14:22You can't be sure that he's coming around
14:26With presents in his sack
14:28Four Christmas sacks
14:32Packed full of presents
14:34Made in just two hours
14:37Look at you, sparkly lot.
14:39You look like a fabulous festive bunch of burglars.
14:43So, what do you think?
14:44Brilliant.
14:44All of them brilliant.
14:46Bags of festive goodness.
14:48It's a bad joke.
14:49Yes, I get it.
14:50That was good, that.
14:51Thanks.
14:52Fast.
14:53Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
14:59Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
15:04Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
15:10Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
15:15Hey.
15:16Hey.
15:17I think the candle's great.
15:19You've got little berries.
15:20I love the colours.
15:22Oh, and it's a red lining.
15:24That works really well.
15:25If I'm being nitpicky,
15:26slightly misaligned at the side,
15:28a little step,
15:30but put your draw chords.
15:32Those work.
15:32You hold it and tug.
15:33Hold and tug.
15:34Hold and tug.
15:35That's the way with this sack.
15:37Right, excellent.
15:38Thank you very much.
15:40Oh, I feel a bit emotional.
15:42I've had such a bad experience with judges over the years.
15:46You've been living out once,
15:48you've been living out twice,
15:50but everyone knows it's just the flammies and bones.
15:57Pretty good.
15:59Are you pleased?
15:59Yeah, very pleased.
16:00We've got a Christmas message,
16:02which is to your new nephew, Grayson.
16:05Draw chords are in.
16:06Yep.
16:06The only thing I don't like is gold decorations.
16:11Don't go with white.
16:13But obviously trying to curry favour with this judge,
16:16with a massive bow.
16:18And it's plump.
16:19How do you have time to make bows?
16:21That's the difference between gladiators and strictly dancers.
16:25They have time to make bows.
16:28Thank God I'm no longer a dance.
16:29Well, cheers, Susan and your martini.
16:43I think it's a lovely idea.
16:44I like the fabric and it's great that you've sewed these sparkly bits.
16:49But the martini glasses disappear a little.
16:52I think you needed a bit more contrast.
16:55If they'd been a different colour,
16:56they might have leapt out a little bit more.
16:58It's interesting that you use sequins,
17:01because they come unravelled.
17:02Yeah.
17:03This stuff is really difficult to sew.
17:05There's a couple of little raw bits.
17:07Also gold brocade phrase.
17:09But I think it's a really good effort.
17:11Mega festive.
17:12Bravo.
17:22Well, it's a murkier Christmas tale.
17:32A bit of Christmas sleaze under the mistletoe.
17:35Yeah.
17:36My mother.
17:38I was hoping for a bit more than just ma'am.
17:41I mean, there isn't Santa Claus.
17:42He's the toweling.
17:43Santa's the toweling.
17:45So it's a story we need to unpack with a bit more thought.
17:48Slowly.
17:49I'm not sure about this fabric.
17:51Why?
17:52Because it's brown.
17:54And it's not very Christmassy.
17:56Christmas puddings are brown.
17:57Well, we could throw a bit of brandy over it and set fire to it.
18:01LAUGHTER
18:02Seems a little harsh.
18:06It's a little bit untidy.
18:09Got these little raw bits.
18:10Oh, God.
18:11It's had a hard life.
18:13How come you didn't sew this in?
18:17I don't know.
18:18You don't know.
18:18I think I was eating a toffee crisp at the time, for honest.
18:22When do we set fire to it?
18:26The judges will now rank the Christmas sacks from fourth to first place.
18:31Fourth place, we have Lucy.
18:35It's a little untidy.
18:38And I don't like brown.
18:40I wish she had told you before.
18:42In third place is Susan.
18:45The martini glasses disappear.
18:48Oh, OK.
18:49In second place...
18:51Tom.
18:54Nothing much to choose between them.
18:56You can be really, really proud of it.
18:58It's brilliant.
18:58Thank you very much.
18:59In first place is Anton.
19:04It's fabulous.
19:05I love the candle and all the bells.
19:09Thank you very much.
19:10So you can bob off now.
19:12Enjoy yourselves.
19:12Relax and chill.
19:13And you come back for the transformation challenge.
19:16Off you go.
19:18Shall we have an eggnog?
19:19No, I want a brandy.
19:20A brandy?
19:21Well done, yous.
19:23Well done.
19:24We wish you a merry Christmas.
19:27We wish you a merry Christmas.
19:29We wish you a merry Christmas.
19:31We wish you a merry Christmas.
19:33Two, three, three, three.
19:34Woo!
19:36What?
19:37Screen covered in tinsel and goes ribbit, ribbit.
19:40Mistleturd.
19:42Mistleturd?
19:43Yeah.
19:44Mistlet...
19:44Toad.
19:45Oh, mistletoe!
19:48It all went swimmingly, I have to say.
19:50I mean, this is my...
19:52This is not best Christmas.
19:53I've ever had.
19:55Who knew bells would have such an effect?
19:58You know, Anton's got his creed.
20:06Esme said she wanted to burn it.
20:08She doesn't like brown.
20:09But they did acknowledge that it was a sack.
20:14I'm actually really excited by the transformation challenge
20:16because, like, what's it going to be?
20:17You've got no idea.
20:18Like, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it,
20:20which is basically how I approach life.
20:23That bridge has arrived sooner than Susan thinks.
20:30Patrick and Esme are about to get the party started.
20:34Welcome back, sewers.
20:35It's now time for the transformation challenge,
20:38which is where you take something old, unloved and a bit knackered,
20:42and you zhuzh it up a bit,
20:43a bit like I've tried to do with my feet.
20:46They still look like hocks of ham,
20:48but now they look like hocks of ham,
20:49you might win in a raffle,
20:50which is lovely.
20:52So, Patrick, what are you asking them to transform this week?
20:55On this day of Christmas,
20:57we judges give to the...
21:02...party wear...
21:05Inspired by the 12 days of Christmas,
21:08we would like you to make a fancy dress outfit for a child.
21:13Think swans, milking maids, geese, leaping lords, etc.
21:18Right.
21:19When we look at them,
21:21we must know what verse you did,
21:24and we want to smile immediately.
21:27All right, OK.
21:28Now, the judges aren't allowed to be here for this.
21:30They're going to go out,
21:31probably eat some chocolates,
21:33and put the wrappers back in the tin.
21:34Off you, Pop.
21:36Now the adults have gone,
21:38you've got an hour and a half.
21:40Off you go.
21:41Right.
21:42That is cool.
21:45I think I've actually worn that.
21:47With 12 possible characters to choose from,
21:49our celebrities need to be decisive.
21:52Do you know what colour swans legs are?
21:54Let me think about the last one I shaved.
21:57If they're to transform their chosen garments in time...
22:01What's it do, eh?
22:02A piece of laying, swans of swimming.
22:04This is a swan.
22:05What I'm thinking...
22:07I might just put this on the mannequin
22:09and call it a lady dancing.
22:10I don't know all the 12 days of Christmas.
22:11I was the kid who was quiet
22:14and then shouted,
22:15Five gold rings!
22:20So, party wear
22:22into a fancy dress outfit
22:24inspired by the 12 days of Christmas.
22:26They could be quite literal.
22:28It could be a swan,
22:29or a hen,
22:30or a drummer,
22:31but it could be something
22:32a little more tangential,
22:34as long as we can link it.
22:36There are lots of birds involved.
22:38There's lots of feathery fabrics,
22:39and that lends itself, obviously,
22:41to our feathered friends.
22:42We have cut them a bit of slack,
22:44because we've given them
22:45these base outfits
22:47that they can use
22:48as a kind of structure
22:49to build their fancy dress outfit around.
22:52There's also wadding they can use,
22:54so they could make something 3D.
22:57Right, I'm off to see
22:58what my true love has given to me.
22:59I'm your true love.
23:06Oh, no, that's tall, isn't it?
23:08I need lots of padding, you know,
23:10to go in it, like, fill in.
23:11What I'm doing, three French hens.
23:13We've got, er, kind of, like,
23:16ghibli bits.
23:17Awful.
23:18Er, we've got, like, a bit of red,
23:20we've got a little bit of this.
23:22We're gonna rustle feathers.
23:23That's what we're gonna do.
23:24Oh, it's feathers everywhere.
23:25Tom, how are you?
23:27I'm covered in feathers,
23:28but that should be a good sign
23:29to what I'm doing.
23:30Seven swans are swimming.
23:32Do you like the...
23:33the swan's beak I'm gonna go for?
23:35What else is going on, then?
23:36Have you got eyes?
23:37I had not thought about eyes.
23:40I'm guessing the child will have eyes.
23:42Yeah, because they'd bring their own eyes.
23:44So, I've got a goose here.
23:46I'm doing geese of laying.
23:48Can't you tell?
23:50Can't you tell?
23:51Wah!
23:52Wah!
23:53I'm absolutely quackers.
23:56While most celebrities
23:57choose to make beautiful birds...
24:00Don't fight the sparkle.
24:02Lucy's choice.
24:03What are you making?
24:04Er, udders.
24:05Udders?
24:05You know, the maids milking.
24:07It's a little more niche.
24:08Have you done an udder before?
24:11This is my first udder, Sophie.
24:12Right.
24:13That's quite a good udder, isn't it?
24:14Do you think?
24:15Yeah.
24:15Well, it's gonna be a cow.
24:17Are you confident
24:18you'll know this is a cow?
24:20I mean, it's not a giraffe, is it?
24:23You know you're animals.
24:24I know.
24:25So far, I've done a bit of stitching
24:27on the washing machine.
24:30What would I say?
24:31Washing machine?
24:31Sew machine.
24:32That's about fits on my arm,
24:34to be really honest with you.
24:37That's my swan.
24:39Do I hear the word swan
24:40from over the other side of the room?
24:41I've got bird competition.
24:44Anyway.
24:45I'm creating wings.
24:48Rick.
24:48Hello, dear.
24:49I'm just checking out what you're doing.
24:50I'm just trying to get a few tips.
24:52Since you did win the first one,
24:53I need to know what.
24:55Well, you are...
24:56Yeah, but we've moved on from sacks.
24:57So I'm...
24:59I'm about where I start.
25:02Sewers, you're halfway through.
25:05I've just sewed this
25:06with a slight opening.
25:08Gonna just stuff
25:10with fill-in.
25:11While it's traditional
25:12to stuff birds at Christmas...
25:14If this doesn't say bird,
25:15I don't know what does.
25:16Lucy's udders
25:17are having an identity crisis.
25:19I am worried
25:20that this looks like a...
25:23turkey.
25:24And she's not the only one
25:26getting muddled.
25:27We're gonna be putting
25:28this tartan hood
25:29on my French hen.
25:33Susan's French hen
25:34has become a Scot.
25:36I probably should have
25:36picked something
25:37less Scottish.
25:38But it's cool.
25:39Hello.
25:40It looks fabulous.
25:41I think I might like this
25:42for the baby.
25:43Really?
25:44I might take it home with me.
25:45If it all goes really bad,
25:47and you sort of have to lie.
25:49Yeah.
25:49You'll just know
25:50because I won't pick it up
25:51at the end.
25:54I'm just attaching
25:55patches to the cow.
25:58Look at that.
26:02Wow.
26:03My daughter
26:04would never let me
26:05make her a dress like this.
26:08I've just seen
26:09Lucy's...
26:10Is that a swan?
26:10That could be a swan.
26:12No.
26:12Milking things.
26:14Nice.
26:14Excellent.
26:15Cows are milking.
26:16Ooh.
26:18Hello, cheeky lady.
26:20Do you like it?
26:22Interesting.
26:23Very avant-garde.
26:24Do you think?
26:25Yeah.
26:25You've definitely
26:26got the edgy number.
26:30Right, so it's 15 minutes.
26:32Stress, stress, stress.
26:33All the celebrities
26:34are rushing
26:35to add familiar features.
26:37I might make an egg.
26:39Geese are laying.
26:40And Lucy's milking it.
26:42If you live life
26:43dangerously,
26:43I would like to make
26:45udders for the head
26:46as well.
26:48I'm only going to need
26:48about 10 minutes
26:49and then I'm just going to
26:50cry in the toilet.
26:52Like Christmas Day, really.
26:53For Susan.
26:56Bugger.
26:57Christmas is already
26:58bar humbug.
26:59I've sewed strips
27:00of embellishment
27:01over the beak.
27:02I'm hiding
27:03the end of the beak.
27:05Which I really
27:07wasn't meant to do.
27:08So I've got to unpick it,
27:09which is really annoying.
27:11Well, I'm having
27:11a lovely time
27:12making a golden egg.
27:14A five, six,
27:15seven, and a one.
27:17Anton,
27:17too much fossing.
27:19I said,
27:20lie.
27:21Oh my God.
27:22I'm attempting
27:23to sew
27:24the swan's feet.
27:26And that
27:27is a swan's foot.
27:29I put some
27:29leggings on the head
27:30and now I'm
27:30stitching the udders.
27:32With no one else
27:32dressed like this,
27:33you know.
27:34I've got to sew this
27:35again.
27:35Five minutes,
27:37come on!
27:37Oh God, no.
27:39Shall we hang
27:40the egg
27:40on the bottom?
27:42Ooh!
27:43I love the feet.
27:45It's that competitive
27:46gladiator.
27:46I've got it in there.
27:47Come on.
27:48I'm a bit worried.
27:49I'll ruin it.
27:50One minute!
27:51You're running
27:52out of time.
27:54That's stuck.
27:55No child
27:56would want to wear this.
27:57Ooh!
27:57Shove the eyes on.
27:58Celebrity sewers,
28:00needles up.
28:02I did it, guys.
28:03Nay bother,
28:04as the Scots say.
28:05It's like
28:06Beyonce
28:06if she was a hen.
28:09Imagine
28:09going out
28:10of the house
28:10dressed like this.
28:16Mama's got piles.
28:18Please bring your
28:19mannequins forward.
28:21Got a lot of birds
28:22going on,
28:22haven't we?
28:23Lucy.
28:24Fantastic.
28:24I love...
28:25Genius.
28:31Oh!
28:33I know who my winner is.
28:35You did the audience.
28:36You.
28:36On the first day
28:37of Christmas
28:38my true love gave to me
28:39a partridge in a bird tree.
28:42A collection
28:42of party clothes
28:43transformed into outfits
28:45that celebrate the song
28:46The Twelve Days of Christmas.
28:49Judges,
28:50you can take a break
28:51from wrapping
28:52my fabulous presents.
28:53Come and have a look.
28:54Esme and Patrick
28:55having a clue
28:56whose outfit's whose.
28:58Well,
28:58that's quite a lot of birds.
29:00Ooh la la,
29:01yes.
29:02Somebody's geese
29:02have been a-laying.
29:03On the third day
29:04of Christmas
29:05my true love gave to me
29:07three French tents
29:08two turtledoves
29:09and a bar
29:10taken up there
29:12three.
29:12What do you think
29:14this is?
29:14Well,
29:15I mean,
29:15it is very clearly
29:16a bird.
29:17Yes,
29:17absolutely.
29:18Which of our birds
29:18is it?
29:19Is it,
29:19it's not a French hen
29:20because it's got
29:21a tartan hat on
29:22although the French
29:23did like the Scots.
29:25Yes,
29:25well maybe
29:26it's got
29:27bird.
29:28Yeah,
29:28I don't remember
29:29that one
29:29from the rhyme.
29:32It's not the swan,
29:33it's not a geese.
29:34Is it a calling bird?
29:36I don't know.
29:37But I'll tell you what,
29:37this hat
29:38is brilliantly engineered.
29:40Look how great
29:42the fit
29:43on that hat is.
29:44The feathered dress
29:46has been used
29:47to perfection.
29:47I mean,
29:48it does look like
29:49something you'd wear
29:50to a party,
29:51doesn't it?
29:52Yeah.
29:52I mean,
29:52there's hints of pipers
29:54because they're Scottish.
29:55Is it a bird?
29:56Is it a piper?
29:57Or is it a plane?
29:59On the seventh day
30:00a priest
30:01was like
30:01to look at me
30:02Seven swan for swinging
30:04six
30:04he's all laying
30:05five
30:06golden green
30:07This, to me,
30:10is a swan
30:11Yes.
30:12Size orange beak.
30:13It's great
30:14how this orange
30:15matches this.
30:16I love the way
30:17that they've used felt
30:19just to cut out
30:20bright orange feet.
30:21This party dress
30:22has given us
30:23all the white feathers
30:25that we need.
30:25Yes.
30:26It's really wearable.
30:27I think it's a great
30:28fancy dress outfit.
30:29Love it.
30:30It's brilliant.
30:3028th day of Christmas
30:32night your love
30:33gave to me
30:34Eight maids
30:35a-milking
30:35Seven swan for swimming
30:36Six
30:37he's all laying
30:37five
30:38golden green
30:40This is maids
30:42a-milking,
30:42isn't it?
30:43This is the cow
30:44that the maids
30:44who are milking
30:45are milking.
30:46What do you think
30:47these are?
30:47The nipples.
30:49I think they call
30:49them udders,
30:50but we can go
30:51with nipples.
30:52I think this is
30:53very amusing.
30:54I'm a maid
30:55milking it.
30:57She can't resist.
30:58I think the use
31:01of the fabrics
31:02here is brilliant.
31:03We've just got
31:04a couple
31:04the little horns
31:11if they are horns.
31:12The udders
31:13I just think
31:14are brilliant.
31:14I mean this looks
31:15like a pair
31:16of leggings
31:17that have been
31:18somewhat crudely
31:19manipulated.
31:21Yes.
31:21I've rarely been
31:22more amused
31:23by anything
31:24I've seen
31:24in this room.
31:26That's the sound
31:27effect you need
31:28to make
31:28whilst wandering
31:29around in this
31:30costume.
31:31But I'm not
31:31going to wear it.
31:32You're lost.
31:33I'll be wearing
31:34it anyway.
31:35On the sixth
31:36day of Christmas
31:37which will all
31:38give to me
31:39six feet
31:40to lay
31:40five golden
31:42green.
31:43This is another
31:44bird.
31:45Which bird?
31:46It begins with a
31:47G and rhymes
31:48with moose.
31:50Goose.
31:50Correct!
31:51That's what I think
31:52it is anyway.
31:53Again, I think
31:53it's brilliant use
31:54of the feathery
31:55party frock.
31:56The beak,
31:57the eyes,
31:57you get a lot
31:58of storytelling
31:58there.
31:59Any eggs
32:00you can see?
32:01It's not Peter.
32:01No, what about
32:02the egg at the
32:03back?
32:04What about
32:04this egg?
32:05What did you
32:06think that was?
32:07I didn't see it.
32:08Doing a golden
32:09poo for Christmas.
32:10Yes.
32:11It is laying
32:12a golden Christmas
32:13egg.
32:14I think there's
32:14some really
32:15lovely details
32:16in this.
32:16It's great.
32:17Pass off
32:18to all of you.
32:19This is an
32:20absolute Christmas
32:21cracker.
32:21I don't think
32:21we've seen
32:22transformations this
32:23good in a long
32:24while.
32:26Esme and
32:27Patrick will
32:28now rank the
32:28festive outfits.
32:31Whose will be
32:32gifted victory?
32:33And whose goose
32:34is cooked?
32:35In fourth
32:35place.
32:39It's that one
32:40with the tartan.
32:41Well, that's
32:42Susie's.
32:43We really liked
32:44it, but we
32:45didn't know what
32:45it was.
32:46It's a French
32:47hen, but the
32:48tartan threw you.
32:49A little beret,
32:50and maybe a
32:51string of
32:51onions.
32:52Or like carrying
32:53a baguette.
32:53Anything French
32:54really.
32:56Merci.
32:57In third
32:58place is our
33:00swan a
33:01swimming.
33:02Tom.
33:03I mean, that
33:03is seriously
33:05impressive.
33:05Loved it.
33:06It's just amongst
33:07a menagerie of
33:08other brilliance.
33:09In second
33:10place is
33:11cow.
33:14That's
33:14Lucis.
33:15Oh my
33:16God, I can't
33:17believe it.
33:18It did so
33:18well.
33:19It's mad.
33:20And that's
33:20why we liked
33:21it.
33:21I just knew
33:22how to make
33:23udders.
33:23Sometimes you
33:24find your
33:25calling in
33:25life.
33:25Well done,
33:26Lucy.
33:27Which means
33:27in first
33:27place is
33:28our
33:28wonderful
33:29goose-a-lay-in.
33:32That's
33:33fun, Tom.
33:34I mean, it
33:35was all a
33:36very close-run
33:36thing.
33:37You've created
33:38this wonderful
33:38shape, but the
33:39crowning glory
33:41is its little
33:42egg.
33:42What a
33:43day.
33:43What a
33:44day I could
33:45rarely have
33:46ever dreamt
33:46of.
33:47Yes.
33:47One again.
33:48Sounds too
33:49grand,
33:49isn't it?
33:50I just
33:50came out
33:50on top.
33:51I couldn't
33:52believe that
33:53I came
33:53second.
33:54I don't
33:54think I
33:54deserved it
33:55from a
33:56technical
33:56point of
33:57view.
33:57From a
33:57novelty
33:57point of
33:58view,
33:58yeah, I
33:59wipe the
33:59floor with
34:00everybody.
34:00All right,
34:01mate.
34:01Brilliant.
34:01A bit
34:02disappointing,
34:03I came
34:03third, but
34:04to be fair,
34:05just look at
34:05that line-up,
34:06they were
34:06just all
34:07fantastic.
34:08Every time
34:08I hear
34:09three French
34:10hens, I'm
34:10going to
34:10start wildly
34:12screaming, or
34:13I don't know,
34:14speaking in a
34:14Scottish accent.
34:15it's a new
34:28day, and the
34:29celebrities must
34:30now make garments
34:31to fit a model.
34:32nice to meet
34:33you.
34:33How are
34:34you?
34:34It's nice to
34:35see you.
34:36Whoever shines
34:37in this final
34:38challenge could
34:39walk away with
34:40the Christmas
34:40Sewing Bee
34:41trophy.
34:41In my head,
34:43it looks great,
34:44but whether
34:45that actually
34:46happens, I have
34:47no idea.
34:48Hurry down
34:49the chimney
34:50tonight.
34:51Welcome back,
34:52celebrity sewers,
34:53and hello to our
34:55fabulous festive
34:55models.
34:57So today's
34:57made-to-measure
34:58challenge, the
35:00judges would like
35:01you to create an
35:01outfit based on
35:03your favourite
35:03Christmas treat.
35:05Mine would be a
35:06hot man wrapped
35:06in bacon.
35:09You've got four
35:10hours, and your
35:11time starts now.
35:16Put your arms up
35:17for me.
35:17You hold it on
35:18your waist, and put
35:19it all the way to
35:19the ground.
35:20I love food at
35:21Christmas.
35:21I cook.
35:22It's my job.
35:23I'll do the ham,
35:24because, you know
35:25what I mean, it's
35:26hammer.
35:27I like a soggy
35:29Brussels sprout, but I
35:30feel like Christmas
35:31is the time where I'm
35:32allowed to, and no
35:33one's going, ugh.
35:37So tell me, why'd you
35:38pick this challenge?
35:39We all love a
35:40Christmas treat.
35:41True.
35:41We've given them
35:42complete free reign.
35:43They could dress their
35:44model up as a Christmas
35:45put, you know,
35:46something that's literal,
35:47or it could just be
35:48something that takes
35:49inspiration from their
35:50Christmas treat.
35:51We just want to be able
35:52to follow that story.
35:54But they probably
35:55never done fitting on
35:57the body.
35:58Right.
35:59That's going to be
35:59difficult.
36:00Esme, what would be
36:01your Christmas treat?
36:03Sherry.
36:04Mmm.
36:05It's quite sweet.
36:07Just like you, Esme.
36:09Sweet and alcoholic.
36:11Yeah.
36:11That's what you want,
36:12isn't it?
36:15Oh, the fabric's
36:17lovely, isn't it?
36:18Yeah.
36:18Right, let's go.
36:20Good morning.
36:21Morning.
36:22What is your treat?
36:23Something that I know
36:24is going to be in
36:25abundance in my house
36:27at Christmas, which is
36:27champagne.
36:28Right.
36:29Champagne.
36:30I wanted to incorporate
36:31old Boreham dresses,
36:32something a little
36:33old school.
36:34Lovely.
36:34Structured bodice will
36:36mimic the rim of the
36:37champagne flute.
36:38The front is going to
36:39sit out.
36:40And also, I love all
36:41this stuff, so we're
36:42going to use this in
36:43the glass as though
36:44it's champagne.
36:45Oh, wow.
36:46It's ambitious, but I
36:47think if you pull it
36:48off, it'll be a
36:49knockout.
36:50Hopefully.
36:50Cheers.
36:51Cheers.
36:52Nice.
36:54While Anton plans to
36:55toast his victory,
36:57Tom's hoping success
36:58will be sweet.
36:59What's your treat?
37:00Gingerbread.
37:01Gingerbread?
37:02Oh, you don't
37:02love gingerbread.
37:03And you've got a
37:04ginger wife, haven't
37:04you?
37:04I have got a
37:05ginger wife.
37:05You love the
37:06ginge?
37:06You're ginger.
37:07I know.
37:07Do you know what
37:08I mean?
37:08You're my favourite.
37:09Of course.
37:10Yeah, but don't try
37:11and eat me.
37:12I won't have that.
37:14The base of Tom's
37:15gingerbread-inspired
37:16outfit will be a
37:17satin pinafore dress.
37:19Decorations include
37:20rick-rack icing, a
37:22candy-stripe belt and
37:24an assortment of
37:25treats, plus one
37:26final touch.
37:27There's going to be a
37:28big boat to win
37:29Esme over.
37:30Big boat.
37:30Ready as well,
37:31love.
37:31Loves the boat,
37:31yeah?
37:32I think it'd suit you,
37:33actually.
37:33Do you know what?
37:34It's all yours when
37:35it's finished.
37:35Yeah, we'll see how
37:36good it is.
37:37You'll know.
37:38Yeah, you'll know.
37:39Right.
37:41Hilariously, I need a nice
37:43pencil to make tie.
37:46Come on.
37:47It takes something special to win the Sewing Bee crown, and Susan's sewing a design inspired
37:56by the after-dinner classic, Vionetta.
37:59This is a ice dessert that I would have as a kid at Christmas.
38:05My mum would say, serve yourselves, and we'd be like stabbing it, trying to get it all
38:08crunchy and get to the bottom.
38:09Chocolate and vanilla layers.
38:11I'm pleating to create the frilly chocolate.
38:14The key is to not make it look garish.
38:17So it's elevated.
38:19Yes.
38:19It's haute couture.
38:21Chocolate couture.
38:23Oh.
38:24Chocolat couture.
38:25Chocolat couture.
38:25Yes.
38:27Ciao.
38:27While Susan indulges her sweet tooth, Lucy...
38:31Good morning.
38:32Good morning.
38:33Fancies something more savoury.
38:34I'm doing blue cheese and onions, pickled onions.
38:38Pickled onions?
38:38That's what I like to eat.
38:39What time of day are you getting stuck into the blue cheese and pickled onions?
38:42Straight away.
38:43Before the presents?
38:44I just mean from December.
38:46Oh.
38:47Lucy's festive cheese dress features blue overlay and pickled onion pearls, with a cream cracker
38:54handbag.
38:54Borrowing a style from another era, the dress emulates a wedge of cheese.
39:00The 60s style lends itself to the shape of cheese.
39:03I think the 60s and cheese go hand in hand.
39:05Also, this is very clearly veiny cheese.
39:08It's making me very peckish.
39:10He's going for cheese.
39:11See you.
39:13But attaching the delicate veiny fabric is no mean feat.
39:17The pin coming up.
39:19Mmm.
39:19It's stuck on the pin.
39:21It's so wonky.
39:22I'm going to unpick it.
39:23What a shame.
39:25Although Lucy's cheesed off, the other celebrities...
39:28Careful, I don't ping it.
39:30...are ready for the first fitting.
39:32Yay!
39:32How's that?
39:34It's quite nice, isn't it?
39:36Anton's champagne flute is far from finished.
39:39This lovely fabric will sit underneath, so it will kick out.
39:43He's adding multiple layers.
39:45Well, I wouldn't expect anything less than this sparkly affair.
39:49I'm doing a little gathering technique.
39:51What you do is you put a couple of rows of stitching in there.
40:01Hannah, my wife.
40:03I do topping out and entertainment.
40:04That's my role.
40:05I just bring charisma and a speaker.
40:07That's what I bring.
40:09Then...
40:10Go on.
40:12Yeah.
40:13Go on.
40:15I love that.
40:16You can come round.
40:17I might well.
40:19Might even bring the frog.
40:20Bring the frog for me, I'll have that.
40:22If your wife doesn't want it, of course, you'll be a Hannah.
40:24All right, yeah.
40:25Sod her.
40:25Sod Hannah.
40:26Hannah who?
40:27Merry Christmas, Hannah.
40:37Celebrity soars!
40:40Halfway!
40:41Oh, wow.
40:42I'm so behind.
40:43While Lucy races to catch up...
40:46Hey, I'm sorry.
40:47Do you want a quick dance?
40:48The other celebrities...
40:50Five, six, seven...
40:51...are kicking back.
40:52Turn.
40:53One, two, three, cut.
40:56One, two, three, cut.
40:58Add the jump as well and the big finish.
41:00Well, thank you for that.
41:01A showstopper is certainly on Susan's mind.
41:04Couple up there.
41:05I need massive volumous frills.
41:08But bigger isn't always better.
41:11I'm hand sewing.
41:12The decorations.
41:13Look at these big spades of hands.
41:15It's well difficult.
41:17I want lovely show buttons down the middle.
41:19My needle is really getting stuck.
41:21My hands are too big to get behind.
41:22Let me just bring it up a little bit.
41:26That's not even working either.
41:28Tom might be battling buttons,
41:30but Anton has to make an entire glass of champagne.
41:33This is the paper pattern.
41:35My flute.
41:37There you are.
41:38He can't see how to create the curve of the glass.
41:42Oh, God.
41:43I don't know what shape.
41:45Er, let me have a little thing.
41:47And he's not the only one.
41:48I was making a champagne flute,
41:53but maybe the coupe would have a bit more of an effect.
41:57Sorry, my love.
41:58I'll be with you in one second.
42:00Er, what do I want?
42:02Right.
42:05So, I'm basically going with a coupe.
42:09I'm in sure there's a glue gun somewhere.
42:13Right, I'm catching up.
42:15It's a blue cheese.
42:16I love blue cheese and pickled onion on a cracker.
42:30Celebrity sewers.
42:34You've got one hour.
42:36Oh, gosh.
42:38I think you'll find Craig will want that back rather soon.
42:41Well, he's not having it.
42:43A little stab on the finger.
42:46To join the many.
42:48This is more dangerous than the gladiators.
42:49Tom has really gone to town on his gingerbread creation.
42:54I hope it gets it finished.
42:56I'm now sewing ice cream onto my dress.
42:59As we go, there's more and more material,
43:01so it's harder to manage.
43:02Susan's is pretty complicated.
43:04She's got all those layers.
43:06She's actually still got quite a lot left to do.
43:08These look like pickled onions.
43:10I'm just going to use these as decoration.
43:12Lucy reads well as a veiny cheese,
43:15and I really like the little pickled onions.
43:17But it's the simplest dress.
43:20What Anton wouldn't give for a simple slice of cheese.
43:24Disaster.
43:25This is looking a bit like a shield at the moment.
43:28Anton's is the most difficult.
43:30It's supposed to be the flute of champagne with the froth.
43:33But, yeah, at the moment it's looking more suit of armour.
43:41It seems that somebody's eaten all the chocolates.
43:44I don't know who it is.
43:46But what I could interest you in is 30 minutes left.
43:50No!
43:51I'm making a cheese cracker handbag,
43:56which is going to be all the rage.
43:58Everyone's going to want one.
43:59While the girls rush to accessorise...
44:02Headband.
44:03Tom...
44:03Rah!
44:04..has gone rogue,
44:06ditching his needle and fixing decorations with glue
44:09and some heavy metal.
44:12This is the great work of an iron.
44:14Right.
44:21But Tom's not the only gladiator in the arena.
44:26Is it still too shieldy?
44:29Anton's model should fit in at a champagne reception.
44:32Not ancient Rome.
44:34Maybe the sequence could work.
44:36Oh, no.
44:37It's still too much of this, I think.
44:39It looks like Richard of Lionheart.
44:41Right.
44:41Just need glue.
44:43Oh, well.
44:44The gladiator's nearly done.
44:46Do you know my gladiator name?
44:48Ah!
44:49The spike.
44:50The spike.
44:51How about if we put some of this on the outside?
44:53It's like Chanel.
44:56Let's try and glue the back of that.
44:58Oh!
44:59Disaster.
45:00Snapped.
45:02I need to put this back together.
45:03How much time have we got?
45:04Five minutes, cheeky geese.
45:08Bit of bling.
45:09Do you know what I mean?
45:11Oh, no.
45:11If it falls down.
45:12I'm going to run out of time.
45:13One.
45:13Two.
45:15Come on.
45:16I'm going to just handle that.
45:18Oh, God, that's stuck.
45:19How long left?
45:20One minute, my naughty little puddings.
45:23Panicking.
45:24Stress.
45:25Oh, no.
45:26This pin is going to go through this buckle.
45:28Oh, God.
45:29This could take forever.
45:30Finish.
45:33Nightmare.
45:34Let's see it.
45:36Needles up, sewers.
45:38It's time for the catwalk.
45:39Do you all think you're enough?
45:42That's cool.
45:43It's actually really cool.
45:44This is Christmas.
45:46Yes, Ben.
45:48Woo!
45:48Fashion.
45:50Ooh, ooh, ooh.
45:51Fashion.
45:51Ooh, ooh, ooh.
45:53Fashion.
45:53Ooh, ooh, ooh.
45:54Well, I wish it could be Christmas
46:02Every day.
46:04Work, work, work.
46:06When the kids start singing
46:08And the band begins to break.
46:11Woo!
46:12Beautiful.
46:13I wish it could be Christmas
46:15Every day.
46:18Yes.
46:18Yes.
46:24Big hammer.
46:27Big hammer.
46:29Wow.
46:30Loves a bow.
46:32Got bow envy.
46:38It's an absolute triumph.
46:41I mean, it really, really leaps out at me
46:44that this is decorated gingerbread.
46:46It's got very strong Hansel and Gretel vibes.
46:49You've managed to pull off this amazing feat
46:52of making something that could feel quite
46:54novelty actually feel really fun and chic to wear.
46:57One thing, I just wish you'd put this icing
47:00right over the edge.
47:01You've got half straight, half curve, half straight.
47:04And also, did you sew these decorations?
47:08Mm-hmm.
47:08Or did you iron them on?
47:10Stitch some, iron some.
47:11What did you stitch?
47:13Well, I'll look.
47:16There's ironed.
47:17There's ironed.
47:19There's ironed.
47:20There's ironed.
47:22I think they're all ironed.
47:24But I do think it looks like a gingerbread.
47:28And you've got a bow.
47:30Do you like it?
47:31Yeah, I do.
47:32It's great.
47:33Thanks so much.
47:33Delicious.
47:34Delicious.
47:36Running wild.
47:38Did we see me late at night?
47:42Delicious.
47:44Have the pink.
47:45Don't you think we're out of time?
47:48Feels so right.
47:50Do-do-do-do.
47:52Do-do-do-do-do.
47:54Do-do-do-do.
47:55Do-do-do.
47:56Well, I love the idea of doing cheese.
47:58Yeah.
47:59I like your pickled onions.
48:02And I love this fabric.
48:04It's lovely, isn't it?
48:05But it's puckering because this yellow underneath is longer than the top layer.
48:11It is a simple dress, but the storytelling is absolutely bang on.
48:17It's a literal cracker.
48:18It's very distinctly 60s.
48:20The pearl is reflected in the little pearl in the chain and the handle.
48:23There's a brilliant label called Mother of Pearl.
48:25Yeah.
48:25And Amy Powney, who was the designer, that was her sort of signature detail.
48:30She needs to watch out.
48:31She needs to watch out because there are pickled onion silten dresses coming for her.
48:35It is a treat.
48:36Lovely.
48:37Oh, thank you.
48:38I remember a time when you dressed as a lump of cheese at Christmas.
48:41Wedges of cheese.
48:42Yes, round my neck.
48:43I've still got your cheese costume.
48:45Have you?
48:46You're not having it back.
48:47Yeah.
48:50Diamonds are forever.
48:54Hold.
48:55I can't see every part.
49:06Nothing hides in the heart to hurt me.
49:13I don't need love.
49:15This perfectly reads glass of champagne.
49:19There's a real elegance to it.
49:21You've got the frothy, what the French call the mousse, frothing over the top of the glass.
49:24I am not 100% convinced by the shape.
49:28It's really hard to make an elegant curve in one piece of material.
49:34You just didn't have the time to do that.
49:36Now, it doesn't take away at all from the fact that it's got tons of impact and tons of elegance.
49:41The fit on the dress is fantastic and the way it moves, that net at the bottom, it's pure sort of Ginger Rogers business.
49:50Absolutely.
49:51I love the frill.
49:52It looks 3D.
49:53That reminds me of the old days, reams of netting.
49:56And we've got all this froth.
49:58You know, I drive me best.
50:00You've got glitter on everywhere.
50:02Yes, in my hands, my clothes.
50:03But I feel comfortable with the glitter.
50:06When I don't have enough glitter on, I feel naked.
50:09Well, it looks great.
50:11Let's go together.
50:16Right now.
50:20Oh, yeah.
50:26It's sweet for me.
50:28Let's go together.
50:31Right now.
50:35Oh, yeah.
50:37Oh, yeah.
50:37Oh, yeah.
50:39Oh, yeah.
50:41I instantly feel like I'm in trouble.
50:48There's one thing I'm going to say.
50:50Let me know.
50:51We've got this piece that's longer than the frill.
50:56Oh, gosh, yeah.
50:57But I think it looks great.
50:59You've done a lot of work.
51:02And how was it, sewing those on?
51:04As a complete sewing novice, that was tough.
51:06Well, you've handled all of these layers amazingly and left it feeling so light and fluffy.
51:13It manages to feel like very, very elevated evening wear while still being inspired by a tub of ice cream.
51:20Also, this headpiece, it's a bit like one of those triangle wafers you get on the top of a sundae.
51:25There we go.
51:25Like, it's the perfect shape.
51:27Oh.
51:27I mean, it's a dessert for the eyes.
51:30It's absolutely brilliant.
51:31Oh, thank you so much.
51:34I think that I did my dessert all the justice in the world.
51:38Like, I looked at it and I felt hungry.
51:41I really like it and I would wear it and I'm going to.
51:44I'm going to take it home.
51:45I was concerned it was looking like a big breastplate, but we've got there in the end.
51:56I am massively like a kid at Christmas.
51:59I cannot wait to find the result out.
52:01Just let me know quickly, because I need to know if I've won or not.
52:04And if I haven't won, I still think I've won.
52:09There's a lot of fabulous stuff here, isn't there?
52:11I don't think we've had so many amusing and lovely-looking things.
52:16I mean, we've never had others for a star.
52:26Susan, it's absolutely wearable to party.
52:30We came into this morning with Anton having come top of the roost.
52:36You know, he won the pattern.
52:38He won the transformation.
52:39Today, he was hugely ambitious.
52:42He handled the dress beautifully.
52:45Bodice piece is a little bit cumbersome.
52:48Tom and Susan are top of the pile here,
52:53having been slightly below there,
52:56which means they're dead level in my head,
52:59which makes it very difficult.
53:00Celebrity Soas, you have been absolutely fabulous.
53:11And it has been a wonderful time of year with you.
53:13But there can only be one winner.
53:14And Tom.
53:30But all of you, absolutely brilliant.
53:34I'm going to kiss you.
53:39Oh, God.
53:41Stop shotting it out later.
53:43Congratulations.
53:44Thank you very much indeed.
53:44Wonderful.
53:45Well done.
53:46Thank you so much.
53:47I've won.
53:48And I never win.
53:50And I'm absolutely delighted to win.
53:52This is the best thing ever.
53:53This is the happiest day of my life.
53:55You've no idea what this means to me.
53:59Oh, my goodness.
54:01Merry Christmas.
54:03This trophy is just gorgeous.
54:05I love it.
54:05I'm holding it up.
54:06Don't ask me to put it down.
54:07You want me to do that, don't you?
54:08Be normal.
54:09Absolutely no chance.
54:10Anton reached for the top of the champagne flute.
54:13He didn't quite make it.
54:15But what edged it was his ambition in that final made to measure.
54:19He had the perfect day yesterday.
54:25Anton is just incredible.
54:28Attention to detail, flair, showmanship.
54:31I'm thrilled for him.
54:33The children are going to be...
54:34I want to go deeper into udders because it came natural to me.
54:47I knew what I was doing.
54:49The very lifelike.
54:51I'm not finished with udders.
54:52I'd like to make a full cow.
54:56The last couple of days has really got me in the mood for Christmas.
55:01It's such fun.
55:03Being here, being with you...
55:04It's the most wonderful time of the year, with the kids jingle belling and everyone telling you, be of the cheer.
55:32It's the most wonderful time of the year, it's the happiest season of all.
55:45The most wonderful time of the year, it's the most wonderful time of the year.
55:47It's the most wonderful time of the year.
55:49It's the most wonderful time of the year.
55:51It's the most wonderful time of the year.
55:53It's the most wonderful time of the year.
55:57It's the most wonderful time of the year.
56:04It's the most wonderful time of the year.
