00:00Hello there welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met
00:04Office now the first two weeks in September have been wet and the next 24
00:10hours will be no exception let's pick up on some detail first of all this is the
00:14band of rain moving in through the early hours of Wednesday morning notice these
00:19bright colors this is where the heaviest rain will be and the reason why the Met
00:24Office has issued warnings for rain across the northwest of Wales and then
00:28southern counties of Wales through Wednesday we're likely to see some high
00:32rainfall totals causing problems on the roads with that driving wind here's that
00:36first zone there and then another one extends across the south could see up to
00:4017 millimeters rain particularly over the upsolates all in all yes a wet 24 hours
00:45to come across these parts and that rain pushing ever northwards and with that
00:49some strong winds and high waves so your bigger picture through Tuesday night a
00:55quieter spell across northern eastern areas and then this is a deep area of
00:59low pressure tracks towards the northwest of Scotland so that's where we'll see
01:02the strongest winds into Thursday as well as these trading weather fronts
01:06continue to feed in that cloud and outbreaks of rain a blustery day on
01:10Thursday into Friday the weather front does stall across more southern areas as
01:15we lose the wind towards the north and we gain some drier if not brighter weather
01:20still a few showers lurking out there and that's how we see this evening strong
01:24winds across the far north of Scotland and those showers as where any showers
01:27tending to fade away as that cloud thickens by late evening you'll see that
01:32rain across Northern Ireland the Isle of Man Wales Northwest England down
01:36towards the west country certainly and then central southern England Midlands and
01:40Northern England later towards dawn that rain arrives across southern
01:44southwestern and central parts of Scotland so yet again a wet and windy start to
01:49the day as temperatures hold up it's going to be a relatively mild night away from the far
01:53north and northeast of Scotland where you'll see a dry start to the day there
01:58could even be some brighter skies but a bit cool in places still those showers
02:02across the Northern Isles first thing then tomorrow morning here's that massive
02:06rain so a wet and windy start causing problems on the roads poor visibility
02:09spray even some localized flooding where we're seeing those rain warning the rain
02:14actually does clear Northern Ireland by around mid-morning but extends across
02:18towards northwestern and central parts of Scotland through the day as it remains
02:23wet with that rain coming and going across Wales as well as East Anglia
02:27northern England things and spits and spots as well but it will tend to dry up
02:31here so through the afternoon you can see some dry weather attempting to come in
02:36towards the southeast this is the weather front which trails towards the North
02:39Sea and up towards the far north of Scotland the low is centered towards the
02:43west of Scotland and that's what the strongest winds will be and the reason why
02:46the winds will pick up some strength across the north and the west of Scotland
02:50through Wednesday and into Thursday but certainly a better afternoon to come for
02:54your school run or your commute across Western Scotland as well as Northern
02:58Ireland even down towards the southeast of England southern Scotland as well as
03:02Northern England but this rain continues with that low cloud as well
03:06outbreaks of rain quite a dull and and grim evening to come if you are
03:11traveling or stepping out across the Midlands as well as Wales but look at
03:15these temperatures temperatures will be higher than what we've seen this week so
03:19far in fact we could see 20 to 22 across this eastern side of England 14
03:26though for Aberdeen with that breeze coming in a strong wind from the sea and for
03:30Northern Ireland the central belt of Scotland around 18 degrees Celsius for
03:34mid Wales 20 and in fact as we head through the next few days you will notice a
03:39difference in the air yes there will be some rain around but some brighter skies
03:44but temperatures will be I'd say above average for this time of year it's going
03:49to feel differently as we head through Wednesday as well as Thursday in terms of
03:53how the air is going to feel so it's going to feel a bit warmer which is good news
03:57really but still that rain around into Thursday morning a patchy rain at that could
04:03see the odd heavier burst towards Wales northwest England through into Thursday
04:06daytime northern Ireland seeing that rain as this front pushes northwards and then
04:11some brighter skies coming through so that will help the temperatures towards
04:14the south still that driving wind through Thursday afternoon and those
04:18strong winds across the northwest of Scotland with some high waves here that
04:23front straddles the country northern England down towards northwest Wales on
04:26Thursday afternoon but take a look at these temperatures we could see 23 or even
04:30higher eastern counties Midlands and even across the central belt of
04:34Scotland and Northern Ireland up to around 18 if not 19 Celsius but still a
04:39blustery day with those gales towards the northwest who Thursday evening and
04:44overnight here's that trailing cold front now it will remain in place it could
04:49just push down towards the Midlands for a time again some rain associated with it
04:54and across the far northwest of Scotland that's where those winds will really pick up
04:59so some strong winds I'm going to say gales here particularly along the coastline
05:03over the northwest Highlands and some showery bursts of rain as well into
05:07Friday morning making a game for some tricky conditions if you are traveling for
05:12Northern Ireland though you'll miss most of that particularly down towards down as
05:17well as Newry Northern England southern Scotland not doing too badly at all so real
05:21mix as we start Friday so through Friday we continue to see that feed of showers and
05:27blustery winds towards the north here's that front again bringing with it some
05:32pulses of rain extending from the southwest southern parts of Wales but in
05:37between there will be some brighter weather so the cloud will break a few
05:40fleeting showers across central belt of Scotland as well as Northern Ireland but
05:44still that rain down towards the southwest wherever you are enjoy the next few
05:48days remember it is going to turn milder but there will be some rain around and
05:52some heavy rain over the next 24 hours particularly towards the west I'll see
05:56you later
