03:04this is just the start and I think we've worked really hard to start it I feel

03:12the finals week is off the starting blocks what's good well it's very good yeah and the pressure is
03:24on because this week the judges are staying over so they can experience each couple's culinary and
03:30hosting skills 24 7. last time in the heats they had the luxury of being in their own property
03:38here they're having to host us and only 24 hours exactly and they have to shine for those 24 hours
03:45first up Nicola and Roy who are now halfway through their time hosting the guests who can change their
03:52lives you know what we need a bread knife in case anybody wants to say some worries and a bread
03:58knife sitting I'll be at the sink I did feel a little bit trepid about coming and being a guest
04:05because we've only observed prior but I walked through the door and it just felt like we were
04:12actually having a little holiday it feel like they've been living in the house for months and I
04:18keep telling myself this is about running a B&B it is and we've got to feel that we could sit relax
04:25have a drink have a chat to them go and sit in the garden I feel I could walk down there now and it
04:32wouldn't matter what they were doing what they were up to they'd give me a warm welcome yeah
04:35I've had a cry this morning because um I went in to set the dining table and realized that this is
04:45the first and last breakfast we'll ever do or this is the first of many many breakfast we'll do and I
04:52just have a bit of a I've had my 10% wobble today and um I had a cry because neither of us want to
05:01leave this house but we know we have to today to let the other people have their turn
05:05but now comes Nicola and Roy's biggest challenge because in the heat weeks it was the breakfast that
05:14trip them up breakfast this time we're not taking no risks it'll be a traditional French breakfast I
05:24think the first time we elaborate it and too much we are doing eggs because it's a simple thing as long
05:32as the poached eggs aren't served cold was that a dig at me darling no darling
05:37so I took it out and put it in a plate everything so I put all my yoghurts in there and it'll look
05:47all nice and pretty and I'll keep nice and cool good morning morning did you sleep okay yes how did you
05:58sleep yes very well very well excited for another day we'll take a seat in the dining room sure thank you
06:04very much I think he's realized very quickly that there were issues with some of the dishes especially
06:09the eggs benedicts so I'm hoping he's turned everything down and just focus on delivering the
06:14high-quality breakfast morning good morning Nicola how are you are you are we you okay yes did you sleep
06:23okay absolutely yes like a top they were quite ambitious in their choices of breakfast in the
06:29first week so they got themselves into a bit of a pickle when you are professional chef come on
06:40yeah bring it yeah bring it on show us what you've got exactly I think the girls have decided where you're
06:45what you want us this side do you we want you to sit next to each other just in case you get separation
06:53anxiety while it's Nicola and Roy's big moment Michelle and Steve are waking up with a more relaxed start to
07:06the day do you want a coffee shell oh yes please they're staying at a treehouse B&B as part of their
07:16mission to build a standout business plan for the end of the week right I'm on it Steve I'm raring to go
07:24you made yourself a little pretty don't take a lot you've been in there two hours the owners of this
07:35unique B&B are Brits Nat and Andy who moved to France ten years ago and every morning Nat delivers
07:44breakfast by hand Bon Appetit thank you come on show this is how you get muscles this in it oh oh this
07:56looks posh don't it right go on I love that right come on let's have a look how do you open it then I
08:04love the excitement of what's in there oh my god how beautiful is this oh you smell it yeah you smell
08:13bakery oh pan of chocolates no there's a proper word for that pan a chocolate yes wow there you go
08:25thank you no I'm having a caution I mean this is on another level it's wowsers you know and that's
08:34what we want when they walk into our prize home we want them to say wowsers do you know what it's made
08:42us realize even more the this is what we want to do we want to host we want to look after people we
08:48want to have fun with people and you know what this is just absolutely put the fire in the belly even
08:55even more I didn't think it could but it did
08:58I think they've got great personality I think they'll be incredible hosts I wish
09:16they'll do very well yeah and they're really nice people and they'll go far as Michelle and Steve leave
09:26bursting with ideas they've left behind one of their own just in case Nat and Andy fancy following in
09:32their unique footsteps meanwhile it's crunch time at the prize bnb and after issues in heat week
09:59there's simply no room for error and we have this one who's lucky crew's lucky yeah made with M and he has
10:11lots from the region okay there's some yogurts there there's more as well that's all the set in the dish
10:19well did you ice the dish I'm glad you noticed I made a little ring then put flowers on it just to
10:26make it look nice and keep the earth Nicola you could wear that as a crown it would melt very quickly
10:33the judges need to see improvement today and local produce will be the key
10:44just in case it's not enough but everyone like any eggs boiled poached scramble honestly everyone
11:09okay yeah I think this is great thank you is this the soda bread that's the Irish soda bread yes for us
11:16yes fabulous so hope you enjoy it with four very good hosts this week no one can afford any slip-ups
11:26this week all judges will have to be even more critical of everything because the price is so big I
11:33think this competition is going to make or break people you know and really see who can actually
11:40run a bnb and who can't I mean if they're not on form every minute of those 24 hours they could drop
11:48the ball have you tried your orange juice yet yeah the kids revolting
12:03in the limousine Nicole and Brett are out shopping in a local market getting ready to take charge of the
12:13prize house I think we'll get a lot of things here to be honest yeah I think you can get most things here you
12:18can get your fresh bread if you want it as the second hosts to enter the house they'll need to show they
12:24can embed in this region by providing a locally sourced dinner and breakfast I guess we have to raise the
12:37bar this time maybe free and a few extra specials but I don't know how we're gonna do that we need
12:46to put our heads together and think so Brett if we just pop the cherries on then with lovely croissants
12:51just kind of put out that continental kind of yeah yeah yeah and then we can talk about how they're
12:57seasonal nice day B&B's in this region rely on dinners to bring in extra income don't think in the
13:06butcher spread hey bacon yeah so this challenge is designed to show who has the recipe for success
13:14you should be dreads what patron for me this one we've had our feedback from the judges so we'll
13:25take it on board yeah we've took it on board they did mention the pressure and the stress maybe came
13:30across in our faces so we do need to smile like Brennan says and have fun that's perfect perfect we're good
13:39hosts we're good learners and we're just ready for this right that's like 10 euro for that that's how
13:48I know it's not right oh no it's three ten three yeah I got it mercy shop complete now Nicole and
14:05Brett's 24 hours of scrutiny is about to begin we are super ready let's go game one we've been waiting
14:14for today so we're ready meanwhile it's time for the judges verdict on Nicola and Roy's breakfast service
14:29so what do you think of the breakfast selection it's really good it's really good the only thing
14:38is the orange juice is pretty grim I'm really impressed that they've got the cake they've done
14:44their work they've done their homework the research I liked being offered an egg as opposed to that being
14:50the breakfast they are listening and we put lovely service so I you know if that coffee pot went down
14:58I'm sure somebody will notice yeah that's the difference later Nicola and Roy have one final
15:07time to shine taking the judges on a trip to a bee farm okay guys you want to get ready and we'll head to
15:15the the bee farm this day was wonderful we loved being here and we loved hosting the the guests and
15:26it was just it was it was home it was homely if I can explain that when you walk into a property and
15:32it automatically becomes your home straight away it was it's just amazing we just hope it's not our
15:37last breakfast and nice I hope it's the first of many leaving the house is gonna be yeah emotional
15:43and we just hope that we will be back the recognizes the nice ones the nice judges the nice judges okay
15:59perfect I hope next time we're coming here well that's what we are coming here
16:06and we're unpacking our bags hopefully this is not the end I loved it I don't think we could do any
16:13better something to start you know there's three more couples to go I know love but we've done our
16:17best we did well I tell you I'm proud of you because you've done better than best yeah

16:56as the door closes at the prize B&B for Nicola and Roy it opens for the two new hosts and it feels like home
17:15their 24 hours begins now all right then no pressure today nice and relaxed I think you tackle the bedrooms
17:24yeah because I have a lot of chopping today for dinner have you got a checklist this time
17:31all on there good rooms go my checklist quick learning with my pen
17:38what I've got here is I've got some just bits for each room just to sort of pair our remark on it
17:48so here we've got some bags of lavender and probably pair on this bed
17:52this week the rooms have already been cleaned because the judges are focusing on the hosting
17:58skills the vital ingredient for any B&B it's the people that make a B&B it's a people job and it's
18:07you're pouring your heart and soul your personality into everything that you do they came in the most
18:16professional they had a brand they were gunning for it the brand brand brand brand brand brand
18:22show but I know nothing about Brett and Nicole cooking in this house is just unreal it's really really
18:30lovely tonight Nicole and Brett need to show they can create a relaxed stress-free atmosphere for guests
18:38yeah hey tomatoes okay hang on no but did you put them away no Nicole and Brett's strength from the heat
18:53week was that they've came so well prepared and if anything didn't go according to plan for Nicole it
18:59I did a layer of stress so Brett's forgotten tomatoes but I'm sure they were checked off
19:06it was me that did the less so we didn't get 10 tomatoes then you're gonna have to go and get them okay
19:14how soon do you need them well judges are coming at half four so yes but how soon do you need them probably now
19:22do you need them right now yeah go for it where I am then is this rims nearly set okay
19:35meanwhile Nicola and Roy are heading to the local bee farm are you looking forward to today
19:56yeah super excited let's go then okay it's down to each host to choose the trip that best represents
20:04their USP but that's not all the judges want to see the most important thing for me is that it's
20:12not up to us to be the entertainment for their personalities to come out and the fun aspect
20:22as well I really think would like to see yeah I mean you can you could take anything and make it
20:27a great experience by injecting your personality sure it's so beautiful out there it's amazing
20:34proper forest it's like Ireland only warmer it is so green so how did you find this place how how did
20:42that come about I've always been interested in honey um always have never been a beekeeper but I just
20:48adore the taste of it it's a natural product and hopefully we can do trips I guess for guests
20:54all right here we go today's outing is being led by Guillaume who has two and a half million bees
21:10this is the heart of the house and these are the extension with the honey honey making has a long history
21:22in this region and Nicola and Roy are keen to use this product in their own B&B so we always stay
21:32behind so we don't disturb them when they go out and in and out at the front my gosh are they upset
21:41when they're taking a he knows that these colony of bees are very calm it has to go really slow so
21:47they've got time to move they see it coming down that's blew my mind last night Nicola myself baked
21:59some little Madelins for you some I think it'd be nice to try them with some honey yeah you can tell
22:09which ones are covered in Belgium chocolate I'm gonna go natural oh amazing can we have my oh thank
22:18you all right really that's about everything Nicola and Roy have done all they can and won't see the
22:28judges until the end of the week when they'll present their business plan we look forward to
22:33see on Friday and in the meantime use that time wisely thank you guys thank you what a wonderful
22:46event it really summed up their personalities though there was the fact that it was producing something
22:54natural it was very relaxed it was permaculture it was integrated into the environment there was the
23:01journey there there was the chats at the end and we had a good crack didn't we just being together
23:07and then they had the water freshman's you know the cakes after exactly yeah it's them it's yeah they're
23:15just lovely obviously the next time we see the judges they're not gonna be our guests they're gonna be
23:22our judges and they will judge I think they'll be fierce yeah so it'll be like raven in the headlamps
23:29they'll have to do their job absolutely and we got to be ready for that yeah meanwhile as Nicola and
23:37Roy's 24 hours hosting is over Brett and Nicole's is about to start success that is mission success
23:48Tim peaches Nicole you got to have enough they told us not to stress in Europe was an extra stress you do the
23:57food I'll do the rules okay everyone always says it takes so long cooking a curry but when you're used to
24:05cooking it at home you're kind of quick it's an easy one we're just gonna do something called a
24:11borrow basket so like you know if you forget toothbrush or obviously you can't borrow a
24:16toothbrush and then put it back that's yours to keep but you know like you know it's some cotton buds
24:22there and again you can't put them back but you know you can just help yourself to this and just
24:25take it if you forget something then it's there it's now half past three and time is running out
24:32it's nearly time the judges are coming we need to start getting ready they need to appear calm if the
24:40judges are to feel relaxed too do you think I put myself under too much pressure though uh no I just
24:48think sometimes you're a little bit you just rush you're like don't stress and then oh don't rush
24:55and with time running out the tensions are once again starting to show obviously we're in the final
25:05week now it's it's even more serious than it was last week there's so much at stake they've only got
25:11less than 24 hours to prove themselves not everyone can deal with guests not everyone can deal with the
25:19pressure it's late afternoon at the prize B&B where Brett and Nicole are welcoming the judges
25:37tonight the judges are staying over so they can get the full guest experience I think with a bed and
25:47breakfast particularly the personality the authenticity of your hosts is vital it's the key ingredient you
25:55know we've seen the branding we've seen the cooking I now want to see what they are like as hosts
26:03oh this is lovely yeah that's great you're staying in dreaming this evening obviously the bathrooms in
26:12here and that's all got your toiletries and everything in and if you need the demonstration on how to use a
26:16shower I can show you how to turn it on but not wash yourself thank you thank you I'm really looking
26:24forward to sitting down to dinner with them because I want I want communication I want to see how much
26:30they're willing to give of themselves I just want the heart now so Eva you're going to be staying in our
26:37tucked away room for this evening thank you Nicola you will be in residence our stargazin oh thank you
26:48wow when night is dressed in diamonds bright the sky sings softly through the night beneath this quiet gentle sky

27:08we settle in well okay thank you when they were in the heats they were quite stressed out I think and and
27:18and Brett in particular looks much more uh placid and calm here than he did come in

27:37with how quickly you do things it's like you've got an army of little elves behind you helping you know
27:43there's a nice link between everything with the lavender theme the lavender cushion the lavender
27:47little pouch the soap the actual lavender and everything just a sense of calmness for our guests
27:53do you think the check-in went well then yeah I thought it was it was really good today's got to
28:01be a chance for them to really get to know us though our personalities are really gonna have to shine
28:06as well as lavender and poems Nicole and Brett are hoping to win over the judges with a welcome gift of
28:14chai tea and biscuits we've got a bit of chai tea here for you to try it's only a bit because we don't
28:24want you to spoil your dinner oh very good they're locally sourced French butter shortbread biscuits and
28:34of course I thought I'll get a personalized residence art as Nicole and Brett complete their check-in
28:48Justin and Paul are working on their business plan and today they're heading to a B&B where
28:54they're they're sure to be inspired we'll just have to bombard them with questions one thing this is
29:03she's yellow a five-bedroom B&B where style is top of the agenda it's run by Brits Heidi and Anthony who
29:15moved here in 2015 Wow amazing look at the shutters really pretty hi there hello nice to meet you
29:31thank you very lovely okay this is your room this is a yellow suite oh lovely to have a king-sized bed
29:51amazing and then we have the ensuite through here oh my gosh it's a nice large ensuite
29:59for you it's bigger than our first flat we'll let you settle in all right thank you wow so nice
30:10yeah isn't it finishing everything isn't it yeah brilliant a really nice artwork beautiful furniture
30:15yeah comfy bed yeah we're good to see the rest of the house though in it yeah before the fact to see
30:21the rest of it is so they've got really nice like interior yeah styling have you got really nice yeah
30:26really nice nice sympathetic to the house yeah meanwhile Michelle and Steve are also out and about
30:38getting inspiration for their dream B&B they've arrived at the Trimolet blueberry farm where their guide
30:50Orian and her family harvest the fruit from over 30,000 trees this time in the morning normally I'd be out and in me
31:01van cause I'm a builder but I prefer to be walking in the field looking at blueberries and I love the old
31:08lifestyle of it all Michelle and Steve are going to pick their own would you like to take oh yes please oh
31:16oh oh beautiful so maybe you can try to pick now are you ready always ready bomb ready and eat as many as
31:31you like we ask a picker to do at least four kilo in one hour are you having a laugh we have people from
31:4016 to 60 right and mostly the more quicker and who are doing the better job is the old one oh really
31:50yeah because we used to graft in that's what it is so when I left school and I was 16 I went to
31:55so in factory the more you did more money you got that's what you call graft in that piece work the
32:13farm also has its own shop Wow where jam is a speciality be very careful with you thank you
32:21that's really nice it's fresh the taste is amazing and the price is really good so you know what this
32:42is what we want to give our guest thank you we will absolutely be sourcing stuff from this farm when we
32:51win the prize home yeah we will be back yes this has been absolutely amazing and hopefully you'll
32:58have us back to come and buy some produce from you back at the B&B it's now make or break time for
33:08Nicole and Brett Brett are you not right in bon appetit yeah I'll get the chalk remember it's a small
33:16touches two peas one pea yeah lovely in here user in for a treat I'm sure you're ready for dinner yes
33:32absolutely we'll take you through to the table you sit right thank you I'm intrigued and excited oh yes
33:39we have a menu as well in the heat week we did hear Nicole shouting at Brett for not doing a certain
34:00thing fast enough etc etc so the stress was showing do you look stressed my smiling sag pork curry tender pork
34:12cooked slowly in spinach and tomato based sauce it's bit spicy oh it's not there's some kicks to it I hope
34:20it's just not too hot my message would be to be yourselves don't try to be something else coriander just a
34:29tiniest bet on I think they need to soften their approach a little bit here we go guys dinner is third if
34:38they don't manage to do that this week there's no room for them to move forward in competition
34:43at the prize bnb it's time for Nicole and Brett to prove they have the hosting skills to stay in the running
35:02oh these are some quick course just be very careful I am first day train though so
35:10looks amazing it smells amazing it does smell really good and it's so nice to have such a nice
35:17little selection going on I think I might have to turn this round actually yeah I was gonna do the same
35:22thing because otherwise I'll spill it all over me by eating with the hosts the judges hope to really get to
35:29know each couple so they can decide who is best suited to this life so they were my starter but I just
35:38thought they'll work well well guess I'm gonna say cheers to everyone thank you enjoy this is
35:57absolutely delicious thank you gorgeous thank you so what's your favorite dish to cook mine's actually
36:04yellow doll believe it or not yeah all right it's my it's one of the best dolls I've ever tasted
36:09genuinely Brandon you're not only saying that are you I really love doll oh very good I think my dad
36:18will be proud then eh is it your dad who taught you how to cook then mom and dad actually yeah this
36:23Nicole's mom's Irish and her dad's Indian so there was a dad that taught her mom and then her mom
36:29and her mom is actually very very good at cooking and I have to ask the really underlying question is if
36:35you don't win the composition would you still want to pursue something like this a hundred percent a
36:42hundred percent so initially I thought rural oh god it's gonna be one house and in the phase and no
36:49neighbors but look what you have I'd say yeah I've always looked at Nicole's mom and dad and they've
36:53worked together for years and I've always thought I couldn't do that but coming here and being with
36:57Nicole and actually doing this actually thought yeah we could do it I feel more connected to Brett having
37:03that time with them to be honest and I guess he does calm me down when I'm in a little bit of a
37:09stress mode so is everyone finished thank you clean plate skin yeah I could eat it again oh more in
37:21there so we'll clear there clear the table and get dessert going meanwhile an hour away at Shayser low
37:31the dogs really make it don't know Justin and Paul are about to have dinner with their hosts and want
37:41to know how this income stream could help their own B&B thank you so tonight we have a creamy lemon and
37:54thyme chicken with Bombay and carrot ribbons then we have a wild rice which has roasted peppers and mint
38:03basil and parsley then we have balsamic and soy beans with tomatoes and coriander
38:13looks lovely okay enjoy bon appetit thank you do you think that's what sets you apart the fact that you
38:21guys are serving food because I feel like in the UK the bed and breakfast arena is not really evening meal
38:28no you're right I think obviously a tablet out which is what we are it is known that the hosts will eat
38:35with the guests it's a selling point because we're a little bit more remote so it stops them having to
38:42worry about where to eat that evening yeah well this was so delicious thank you so much for dinner it was
38:49such a treat wasn't it just thank you so much our pleasure good night sleep well thank you we were
38:56well Justin and Paul are ready to turn in Nicole and Brett are still under the judges scrutiny hey guys
39:12oh this is glab jump okay so these are deep-fried milk dough balls thank you thank you thank you very
39:22very much thank you they are so good they remind me of well I guess that baklava re kind of element
39:34of honey soaked syrup soaked stuff it's fabulous they're like a doughnut soaked in sugar and
39:40syrups and the pistachio ice cream is fabulous the first time I'd ever tasted one me and Nicole was
39:48doing a dinner party for some friends and she sent me to the Asian supermarket and she said you're going
39:53to get some galab jump and I was like you're talking gibberish what what even is that was running
39:58around the Asian supermarket I've never been in there before before because I went what is galab jump
40:03how do you even spell it I didn't even know what I was looking for these little sweet dough balls
40:08they work really well as the Sun begins to cast long shadows on day two of finals week all three
40:19sets of hosts are putting their all into winning I keep saying the nigga look as good a chance as
40:25anybody else it is a competition the problem is we don't we don't know what the others are doing and
40:30that's it I keep and I need to stop thinking about them if they concentrate on us I know how is the bed
40:37for one I'll be fine here you you've got the couch let's get a blueberry yeah and let's do it
40:46cheers yeah cheers are we supposed to eat each of us isn't that like what humans do no

41:38so we have our second check-in of this finals week with Nicole and Brett
41:44it was yeah it was from start to finish perfect for me and different very different it's something
41:56that the restaurants just across the road doesn't offer so in terms of a business plan she would be
42:01adding something to the local area absolutely the dichotomy I've got is that spending time with Roy
42:06and Nicola last night and today was that I felt they revealed themselves instantly we ask a lot of
42:14questions sometimes you know in order to just provoke conversation running a B&B is a huge social skill and
42:23it's probably underestimated a lot of the time but it's terribly important but I don't expect I have
42:31to work hard to draw out a host if I'm staying in a B&B I expect them to reveal themselves and to be
42:42interested in me a bit last night was just easy we had like we were staying with relatives absolutely
42:48joviality bubbliness warm easier conversation not quite such exciting food tonight very exciting food
42:56slightly less less exciting conversation actually almost the inverse of what you expect from each
43:01situation in in a way we've given them lots of hints about opening up tonight they know that they
43:08have 24 hours with us to show this so breakfast will be very interesting they have great warmth
43:16they're sweet they're very sweet but that's not enough the judges want Nicole and Brett to open up
43:26more and tomorrow is their last opportunity we're just nearly nearly there so tomorrow we need to nail it
43:33tomorrow I'm really looking forward to because it's just going to be hosting but in a different
43:38setting you know on our on activity you know yeah all 100% be in my element I'm fingers crossed because
43:44honestly the keys belong in our hand really we've only seen a tiny element of what they have to offer
43:52because it's breakfast and then really in a way the biggest thing which is them hosting an excursion
43:59with us a day out with the judges I'm really looking forward to a good night's sleep in this beautiful

44:21happening what's amazing as the hosts hit the midway point in finals week competition at the bmb is more
44:31intense than ever there's no oats in the spread are there I actually couldn't tell you underwhelming it's
44:38all that don't panic just step aside and the judges crank up the pressure I felt that I was at a corporate
44:45event there's just something missing it's not over yet
