00:12with The Klee Tones!
00:14And now, Jimmy Kimmel Live!
00:30Jimmy, thank you for watching, thank you for joining us here.
00:46Please have a seat.
00:47We're in Hollywood.
00:49The award season and the norovirus are officially
00:53upon us again.
00:55We'll be handing out awards every weekend
00:57for the next three months here, starting this morning
00:59with the nominees for the Golden Globes.
01:01And last night, they handed out the Kennedy Center
01:04Honors in Washington, hosted by Donald Trump.
01:07Donald Trump was the host of the show.
01:09He's been boasting about hosting, saying,
01:12we've never had a president host the Kennedy Center
01:15Honors before, which, yeah, why do you think that is?
01:20We've also never had Neil Patrick Harris
01:22order a military strike on a fishing boat before.
01:25Trump was obviously very excited to headline
01:28this once-prestigious event.
01:29He even waddled the red carpet where he was all fired up.
01:32How have you prepared the host tonight?
01:36Well, maybe I haven't prepared.
01:37Maybe you want to be a little bit loose.
01:40If you look at the great host, Johnny Carson, Bob Hope,
01:43and those are the greats.
01:46If you look at the not-so-greats, like Jimmy Kimmel,
01:49he used to be terrible.
01:53That is very hurtful.
01:58I thought we were friends.
01:59I don't know what's going on.
02:01He is really fixated.
02:03I'm starting to think he might have a crush on me.
02:05I thought we never had a president hosting the awards before.
02:08This is a first.
02:09I'm sure they'll give me great reviews, right?
02:11You know?
02:12They'll say, he was horrible.
02:13He was terrible.
02:15It was a horrible situation.
02:16No, we'll do fine.
02:18I've watched some of the people that host.
02:20Jimmy Kimmel was horrible.
02:22Some of these people.
02:23If I can't beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent,
02:26then I don't think I should be president.
02:29Agreed.
02:30I'm with you.
02:32I don't think I've ever agreed with anything more than that.
02:36Do you think Iggy even knows I've never hosted
02:44the Kennedy Center honors?
02:46Maybe he's confusing me with Queen Latifah?
02:48I don't know.
02:49And as far as this who has more talent thing goes,
02:52it seems like he's challenging me to a contest,
02:54which, if so, I'm open to it.
02:55Let's do it.
02:56Let's have a talent competition.
02:57I will come out.
03:00I'll tell a few jokes.
03:02I'll draw something.
03:03I'll play my clarinet.
03:04He can play golf, spank a porn star,
03:07and ruin a country.
03:09I'm kidding, of course.
03:10The truth is, Donald Trump is a talented...
03:12He's a very talented person.
03:13I mean, the man can sing.
03:15The man can act.
03:20Excuse me, where's the lobby?
03:22Down the hall and to the left.
03:23Thanks.
03:24He can dance.
03:30He does impressions.
03:32Oh, yeah!
03:35He is athletic.
03:38Oh, he shanked it.
03:41And he's not only an amazing artist,
03:43he also is an incredible poet, too.
03:46So much talent.
03:48So much talent, the only way you can contain it
03:51is to lock him up.
03:52And I'll tell you something.
03:53The Kennedy Center is lucky to have him.
03:59Do you think the center will eventually be named
04:01the Trump Kennedy Center?
04:02I don't know.
04:03I hear that.
04:04But I don't know.
04:05That's not up to me.
04:06That's up to the board.
04:07That's up to the board.
04:08I appointed and am chairman of.
04:10That's totally up to them.
04:12You know, before he knocked down the White House,
04:14Trump ordered major renovations to the Kennedy Center,
04:16and he was pretty excited to talk about that, too.
04:19And we've done a lot of work.
04:20We've redone great marble floors that were beat to hell.
04:25And we've replaced them with the most beautiful marble,
04:29the statuary marble.
04:30They call it an Italy statuary,
04:32a great white and black marble that forms Greece
04:36in big parts of Italy.
04:38And Italy during a time when Italy was extremely strong
04:43and Greece when Greece was Greece.
04:46When Greece was Greece.
04:48You know, Greece was first Greece, then came Greece, too,
04:52which wasn't as good as Greece.
04:55And I have to say, I always wonder
04:59what Melania thinks when he starts rambling on and on
05:02about this construction stuff.
05:03And last night, we finally found out.
05:05It's a massive change.
05:06You know, the white against the white marble.
05:08The marble is being rejuvenated.
05:10They're great pieces of marble,
05:11but they've been let go and they've been tired.
05:15And I always say, you can take a hundredth of an inch
05:18off of a piece of marble,
05:20and you have a brand-new piece of marble.
05:21Nobody does it.
05:22It's not an easy process.
05:23Marvel, he is always saying things about marble.
05:28He is...
05:30He's just counting the minutes
05:31till those Epstein files come out.
05:33Trump said he was 98% involved in selecting the honorees
05:37at the Kennedy Center.
05:38The man doesn't know who half the scumbags
05:40he pardoned this month are,
05:41but he's laser-focused on that.
05:43The honorees included George Strait, Gloria Gaynor,
05:46the band KISS, who are the only people
05:48who wear more makeup than he does,
05:50and our official ambassador to Hollywood,
05:52Sylvester Stallone.
05:53Got a Kennedy Center honor.
05:55There they are, Rambo and Dumbo together.
05:57Rocky and Bull Cankle with Gene Simmons looking on.
06:02Trump was also the recipient of an award this weekend.
06:05On Friday, he was given the first-ever FIFA Peace Prize.
06:08FIFA, the governing body of soccer, got nervous
06:11because Trump was threatening to pull the World Cup
06:14out of blue U.S. cities like L.A. and San Francisco,
06:17which would have...
06:18It would have cost them a lot of money
06:19to move the games to Bakersfield,
06:20so they did something.
06:21You could call it genius, and you might be right.
06:24They tapped into his disappointment
06:26from not winning the Nobel Peace Prize
06:28and created their own peace prize,
06:30the FIFA Peace Prize,
06:32which is like if NASCAR started handing out Peabody Awards.
06:35It means nothing.
06:36And no one, not even the president, knew who would get it.
06:40Have you been told that you were going to receive
06:42the inaugural Peace Prize today from FIFA?
06:44I have not been told.
06:46There's a rumor about it, but I have not been told.
06:48I don't know that I'm getting it.
06:50I haven't been officially noticed.
06:51I've been hearing about a Peace Prize,
06:53but I want to really save lives.
06:54I don't need prizes.
06:55Yeah, but if you're handing them out, I'll take two.
06:58I mean, he knew...
06:59He knew full well he was getting this dumb fake prize.
07:02That's why he showed up at the event.
07:04This whole scam was concocted by the president of FIFA,
07:07Gianni Infantino,
07:08who looks like Voldemort trying to sell you a timeshare.
07:11I have to say, Trump was so pleased...
07:14He hasn't been this happy since the day before Eric was born.
07:19Mr. President, this is your prize.
07:23This is your Peace Prize.
07:24There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear
07:30everywhere you want to go.
07:32Right now.
07:34Okay.
07:35Let me hold.
07:36Ah, fantastic.
07:37Excellent.
07:38He couldn't hand out all those Kennedy Center medals
07:45without getting one himself.
07:47You know how when you bring a birthday present to an eight-year-old
07:49and you have to bring another one for a five-year-old brother?
07:52This was basically that.
07:54This is truly one of the great honors of my life.
07:57And, uh, beyond awards,
07:59Johnny and I were discussing this.
08:01We saved millions and millions of lives.
08:03So many different wars that were able to end.
08:07In some cases, a little bit before they started.
08:10That's right.
08:12Wars begin at the moment of conception.
08:14It's, uh...
08:15Think wars have to start before you end them, no?
08:18How would that work?
08:19Like, he calls up France and goes,
08:21Don't you even think about going into Finland.
08:24Putting a made-up medal around your neck and bragging about it
08:28is like masturbating and telling your friends
08:30you got laid this weekend.
08:31It is really...
08:34It's so...
08:36It's so sad.
08:39One of the greatest honors of his life.
08:41Everyone, even his family knows this is a BS prize
08:44designed to keep him from screwing up the World Cup.
08:46Except for him.
08:47It is so...
08:48It's so deeply pathetic.
08:49It almost makes me feel bad for him.
08:51I want to thank, uh, by the way, uh, my family,
08:55my great first lady.
08:57Melania, you're right here, and thank you very much.
09:03See, that smile always gives way to pain.
09:06It never...
09:07Thank you, Melania.
09:08Your contractual obligations for the month of December
09:11are now complete.
09:12You really, though, have to hand it to this FIFA guy.
09:14He spent $300 at a trophy shop.
09:16He got the President of the United States
09:18to do anything he wants.
09:19Mr. President, this way, this way.
09:23Or this way, whatever.
09:24You can do what you want.
09:25I will just show you how it works.
09:27I've done a few of them.
09:29Don't be scared, right?
09:31So, you have to, uh, basically mingle the balls a little bit.
09:35That's right.
09:36You mingle the balls.
09:38You mingle the balls, and then you fondle the shaft.
09:41I was...
09:43This whole thing is so embarrassing.
09:45It really is.
09:46Look at his face when they show him the medal.
09:48He does this...
09:50And then he does this cringy little move
09:52where he kind of yoinks it out of the box.
09:55Like the Grinch stealing the star of the...
09:58Cindy Williams Christmas tree.
10:01And then...
10:02Now we have our...
10:03Our lumbering dope grinning from ear to ear
10:06with this meaningless medal.
10:07Like a fat kid who gets a karate trophy
10:10for breaking a piece of balsa wood.
10:12And the FIFA guy is like,
10:14President Trump, are you such a big boy?
10:17You...
10:18You stop so many wars.
10:20We have a golden pizza prize just for you
10:22because you're so, so good.
10:24Even the trophy looked like it didn't want to be seen there.
10:27Look at this trophy.
10:28It looks like...
10:29It's like an embarrassed teenager
10:32hiding his head in his hands.
10:34Meanwhile, the bombs keep dropping
10:37on our Secretary of War Crimes, Pete Hegseth,
10:40who's a front-runner for the next presidential pardon.
10:43After the so-called double tap on that boat,
10:46or should I say on the people who were in the boat
10:48before the boat was capsized by U.S. missiles,
10:51the president and top lawmakers from both parties
10:54say they want the video of the strike to be released.
10:57But Pete Hegseth,
10:58even though he claims it was all legal and clean,
11:01he doesn't seem so eager to want that.
11:03So, Mr. Secretary, you will be releasing that full video?
11:06We are reviewing it right now.
11:08Is that a yes or no?
11:09That is...
11:10The most important thing to me
11:12are the ongoing operations in the Caribbean?
11:15No, right.
11:18Listen, he doesn't have time to release
11:20potential evidence of war crimes.
11:22He's very busy committing new ones right now.
11:24Trump initially said he agreed the video should be released,
11:28but then he said he didn't say that,
11:30which he did say.
11:31So far, he's been standing by Pete Hegseth,
11:33but maybe not after he sees this.
11:35This is Pete Hegseth speaking about this very subject
11:39and the president nine years ago.
11:41It's typical Trump.
11:42All bluster, very little substance.
11:45The military's not going to follow illegal orders.
11:47If you're doing something that is just completely unlawful
11:50and ruthless, then there is a consequence for that.
11:54That's why the military said it won't follow unlawful orders
11:57from their commander-in-chief.
11:58He talks a tough game, but then when pressed on it,
12:01he's an armchair tough guy.
12:03Now, Hegseth made those comments back in 2016
12:07before he had his spine removed
12:09and replaced with a Mar-a-Lago pool noodle.
12:11So...
12:12But it's really amazing.
12:13Everybody in Trump's cabinet just sold their soul.
12:15Hegseth calls him an armchair tough guy.
12:17J.D. Vance called him America's Hitler.
12:20RFK called him a buffoon.
12:22Kash Patel...
12:23Well, he liked...
12:24I think he liked him from the beginning, which is worse.
12:26And then on the flip side, we have Marjorie Taylor Greene,
12:29who is now factoring into this...
12:30The big story here in Hollywood this weekend
12:33is Netflix buying Warner Bros.
12:35Netflix reached a deal to buy Warner Bros. Discovery
12:38for $82.7 billion.
12:40Warner Bros. owns the rights to Harry Potter, Batman,
12:44Superman, for everything.
12:46They own every...
12:47If the deal goes through,
12:48Netflix will have everything on their app,
12:50but they have to get government approval first.
12:53Trump said he will be personally involved
12:56in the decision on the merger,
12:58which is a cute way of saying,
13:00I am currently accepting bribes
13:02to see if the merger goes through.
13:03But after the deal was announced,
13:05Netflix...
13:06I don't know if you got this,
13:07they sent an e-mail to subscribers
13:08that said nothing is changing today,
13:10which is what you tell your kids
13:11when you're getting divorced.
13:12Right.
13:13But the other bidders were Comcast and Paramount,
13:16and Paramount is not giving up.
13:18Today, they launched a hostile takeover bid,
13:20backed by a group of investors
13:22that include Jared Kushner
13:23and his Saudi benefactors.
13:25But at the end of the day,
13:26whichever company gets this
13:27is gonna come down to whether the president
13:29would rather win the first-ever
13:31Netflix Warner Bros. Peace Prize
13:33or the HBO Paramount Medal of Honor.
13:36Today, Trump's mad at his buddy Larry Ellison,
13:39who owns Paramount, which owns CBS,
13:41which airs 60 Minutes,
13:42which last night aired an interview
13:43with Marjorie Taylor Greene,
13:45who did not have nice things to say about Trump.
13:48Trump responded.
13:49Today, he wrote,
13:50the only reason Marjorie Taylor Trader Brown,
13:53Greene turns brown under stress,
13:55went bad is that she was jilted
13:57by the president of the United States.
13:59Certainly not the first time she has been jilted.
14:02Marjorie is not America First or MAGA.
14:05Her new views are those of a very dumb person.
14:07My real problem with the show, however,
14:09wasn't the low IQ Trader.
14:10It was that new ownership of 60 Minutes Paramount
14:13would allow a show like this to air.
14:15They are no better than the old ownership
14:17who just paid me millions of dollars
14:19for fake reporting about your favorite president, me.
14:22Since they bought it,
14:2360 Minutes has actually gotten worse.
14:25Well, I'm sorry that you feel that way about 60 Minutes.
14:29And the last thing I want to do is upset you
14:32during this sensitive time.
14:33But I have one more bit of entertainment news to share,
14:35and that is that I have decided to extend my contract
14:38here at ABC for another year.
14:48Our show has been renewed.
14:54Till May of 2027, or until the world ends, whichever comes
15:02free.
15:03But I thought about it.
15:04I decided I was given a lot of thought and decided
15:06I would like to spend less time with my family.
15:09And so to our audience here and at home,
15:12I'm honored and humbled to be a part of your routine,
15:15whether it's in bed at night or during the morning toilet time.
15:18It means a lot to me to have your attention and to work
15:22with this great group of people for another year.
15:25My co-workers, even my co-workers,
15:27even the ones who do bad things.
15:29Like, for instance, the ones who promise to hang out
15:32and maybe even sing a karaoke song with me
15:35at our Christmas party on Thursday night.
15:38Because, well, we've been friends ever since I discovered
15:41all five foot two of them working security
15:43in our parking lot.
15:44But then when our song came up...
15:46I end up standing there like an idiot alone on stage
15:51with two microphones singing a duet by myself
15:54because he told us he was going to the bathroom
15:57and instead snuck out to his car and went home
15:59the minute he finished his dessert.
16:01So even people like that I am excited to work with.
16:05Are you excited, Guillermo?
16:07Yeah, I'm very excited, Jimmy.
16:09But listen, I want to apologize.
16:12You do? Yeah.
16:13Yeah, I apologize.
16:14I promise you it won't happen again.
16:16Oh, you said that last year.
16:17No, this one, I swear, God.
16:18Oh, this year won't happen again again?
16:20No.
16:21It won't happen again.
16:22I swear.
16:23I'm going to sing a duet with you.
16:25I promise you.
16:26OK, Guillermo, that's great.
16:27Bill.
16:28OK, great.
16:29Watch it.
16:30Let's get a picture of this.
16:32Bill.
16:33Because I'm going to tell you something.
16:34I promise you.
16:35I promise you.
16:36If you don't do it, I'm going to sue you.
16:38OK.
16:39You can do whatever you want.
16:41I am going to take you to court, OK?
16:43OK.
16:44Now, go back to your chair and don't ever come over here again.
16:46All right.
16:47We have a fun show tonight.
16:48Teyana Taylor is here.
16:49We have music on Tots of Tots Running with John Legend.
16:52And we'll be back with Quick Aggression.
17:07All right.
17:08Welcome back tonight.
17:09She is a force to be reckoned with in Paul Thomas Anderson's
17:12One Battle After Another.
17:14And her TV show, All's Fair, Teyana Taylor is with us.
17:17And then later, this is her Grammy-nominated album called
17:21Tasha.
17:22Music from Tasha, Cobbs, Leonard, and John Legend.
17:25This week...
17:26Oh, we got good shows this week with Matthew McConaughey,
17:30Jamie Lee Curtis, Rachel Sennett, Regina Hall,
17:33Pete Buttigieg will be here.
17:34We'll have music from Howard Jones and The Pretty Reckless.
17:37And tomorrow night, David Letterman will join us.
17:39So please join us tonight.
17:41Our first guest tonight is an Emmy-winning writer
17:44and actor from Philadelphia.
17:46You can see the midseason finale of Abbott Elementary
17:49Wednesday night here on ABC.
17:50And the next day on Hulu, please welcome Quinta Brunson.
17:53Thank you, guys!
17:54Hi!
17:55How are you doing?
17:56How are you?
17:57Hi, guys.
17:58I'm so good.
17:59How stylish you are.
18:00Really stylish.
18:07Thank you so much.
18:08Thank you so much.
18:09Thank you so much.
18:10Thank you so much.
18:11Thank you so much.
18:12Thank you so much.
18:13It's the man outside when they hand you things to sign.
18:14Yeah.
18:15There was a nice man, a nice bald black man who said,
18:16I like this dress.
18:17I like this dress.
18:18Ladies should wear more dresses like this.
18:19And I thought that was the sweetest compliment in the world.
18:20Oh, good.
18:21Well, I'm glad you took it because some people might say,
18:22don't worry about what I'm wearing.
18:23Worry about what you're wearing, baldy.
18:24That's what I should have said.
18:25You're right.
18:26Never mind.
18:27Yeah.
18:28Yeah.
18:29It's for that guy.
18:30Um, congratulations on your Golden Globe nomination this year.
18:34And, um, you got a Critics Choice nomination a few days ago.
18:35Yes, thank you so much.
18:36That's pretty exciting.
18:37I'm very excited.
18:38Especially Critics Choice because, um, I love it.
18:39You're a very sweet knight.
18:40I love it.
18:41You're a great knight.
18:42And I love it.
18:43So I love it.
18:44I love it.
18:45And it's such a tough, tough guy.
18:46No, I love it.
18:47I love it.
18:48But, you know, I love it.
18:50I love it.
18:52It's a tough guy.
18:53Yeah.
18:54So I love it.
18:55I love it.
18:56because my co-star Chris Perfetti was nominated and he plays Jacob on the show
19:02and he's just been doing fantastic work for the past five years and I'm really
19:07really and he's a very nice guy he's so wonderful was he getting upset that
19:11everyone else was getting nominated never he was he is the kindest man in
19:15the world it's not a thought to him he doesn't think about awards or
19:18nominations or anything except for acting he's just an actor and he comes
19:23to do a good job and be on set and do good work so he's the exact type of
19:28person that you want to see get something like this have something for it
19:33you want to see somebody who doesn't care about it get it in the same way you don't
19:37want you want to see somebody who doesn't drive win a car
19:42no for maybe a bad analogy yeah I want to ask you about the Eagles because they're
19:49playing on Monday Night Football tonight and not only are they on Monday Night
19:52football they're like at SoFi Stadium not so far from us yes I was given some
19:56free tickets but I had something else to do tonight
19:58yeah did you know that when you skid when you agreed to be on our show no you
20:03didn't put two or two together no I did not in fact they gave me the tickets I went to
20:06the Bears game they they're not from Chicago they're actually Bears I went to that game
20:16where the Bears with us and so I don't know thank you but so I got some free tickets there and I was
20:25like you know I don't know I might have to work or something they were like just take them I check my
20:28calendar I was like I think I'm in the clear I can go to that game and on my calendar it just said JK
20:34like to be a free jokey joke time and no it meant Jimmy Kimmel so I had to cancel going to the game
20:44yeah well I'm happy to be here I know you I'm glad you're here I know you're superstitious though
20:48because I remember you telling me once that I think last season you said you had to stop watching the
20:53games and once you did stop watching the games the eagles won the super bowl yeah yeah um so maybe
20:59it's better that you're here right now i think so that's what i'm gonna go with yeah the eagles
21:06oh speaking of the eagles i want to show you something because this is something i saw
21:09a couple weeks ago i said please save this for when quinta is here oh no this is from a local
21:14philadelphia public school
21:28oh we got another one now as a as a pretend educator in the philadelphia area um should children be
21:48behaving like that at school should they be yes uh probably not
21:55mm-hmm but does it lay the groundwork for them to become full-fledged philadelphia sports fans
22:02well they already are before they even get to that school it does seem like they were already
22:07filled with rage yes they are you get that in the hospital the moment you're born it's your doctor
22:14who's screaming it's a boy go birds at you when you're born doctor gives you a little slap you
22:20slip back yeah yeah that's how it goes um yeah i'm not ashamed of that clip i'm proud of it you um
22:27you started i this is you know particularly fun charity i think your what is your charity is called
22:32the quinta brunson yes i thought it was like a little obnoxious to have the name in it but they
22:37thought it would make people participate more but it's called the quinta brunson fund uh for field trips
22:43for field trips yes so field trips are a really really really big part of my um educational journey the
22:49best thing about school the best thing about school yeah what many people don't know is that
22:58field trips are starting to go away in a lot of public schools there's not a lot of money for field
23:03trips oh um and so i just wanted to find a way where i can make the most impact in the philadelphia
23:09school district it's not always easy to make things happen that you want to make happen but field trips
23:15were so big for me and i realized that that's one thing where all it really took was money
23:20right and permission slips but that's not and all the permission the whole thing so yeah i started this
23:25fund for anyone who wants to donate you don't have to be from philadelphia um i donated twenty thousand
23:31dollars to get it kicked off and you guys don't have to match me if you want to match me you can
23:36do you have memories of field trips that you love yeah so my teachers were amazing any book we read
23:44they would try to take us to a field trip that um was inspired by the book really um was yeah so one
23:51one i remember was going to grand central station because we read a story about a cricket that got
23:56lost in grand central station i don't remember the name of the book um but i remember the field trip and
24:02that was only to new york i'm from philly that's two hours away but you'd be surprised how many kids
24:07from philly never get to go to new york that was my first time ever going there and it changed my life
24:13and i think that those field trips are important i mean i i don't remember i i we didn't take good
24:21field trips um when i was growing up i mean in brooklyn we did we would go to the planetarium which
24:26was great and the bronx zoo which was great right right but um when i was a cub scout we took a field trip
24:31yeah and we went to a carvel ice cream store which i love by the way yeah but what happened was we
24:38went to the carvel yeah and we uh went behind the counter and saw how the machine worked and then
24:43they sent us home we never we did not get any ice cream that's cool i honestly if i could go back in
24:51time a lot of people say they would there are a lot of things they would kill hitler or whatever
24:55i would go back to just before that to find out what the hell these people were thinking sending us
25:01sending a group of seven-year-old boys to carvel and not giving the manny ice cream that's cruel
25:07and if your fund was around boy maybe we would have had ice cream i think you would have and if
25:13people want to donate to this fund you can help little jimmies everywhere oh you know what big jimmy's
25:19gonna make a donation to the farm as well mr brunson abbott elementary we'll be right back
25:30good morning janine and happy birthday what are you going to do to celebrate okay so last night
25:37i was still 29 i go to rubenstein's and turn up with my friends but today i'm 30 very adult so i'll
25:45be going to a very mature dinner with gregory and my mommy your mother yeah oh and she is arriving
25:52now breezing past the front door biddies meet you in the room with the sad people and the free food
25:57she's on her way here that is from the mid-season finale of avid elementary which you can watch
26:03wednesday night quicker brunson is with us your mom is played by taraji p henson which is fun yeah it's
26:09fantastic is she anything like your real mom no my real mom is wonderful wait hold on hold on
26:16hold on not too much on taraji taraji the person is great the character venetta is horrible the character
26:22my mom is amazing yes yes yes my mom just to be clear no this is a fictional mother that was um
26:29put together by stories of many horrible tales of mothers that i was fascinated with just people who
26:34have really really horrible relationships so you guys so you say to the writers you're like okay we
26:38got this character it's my mom she's a terrible woman tell me about your terrible mom stories
26:45it's where they just start talking about they just start yeah i don't i don't mind for it but
26:50you know what i think it's great to be able to explore those kinds of relationships because a lot
26:55of people relate to them yeah need healing from them need to know how to deal with them and reckon
26:59from them so or reckon with them so yeah i like being able to explore that and sometimes there's
27:04nothing there's something about a true story that just it hits hits yeah right yeah yeah it's really good
27:11yeah and what did you do for your own 30th birthday for my 30th birthday i went to vegas oh you went to las
27:19vegas i went i stayed at the cosmopolitan i didn't do anything special i went to one of those weird
27:29little shows downstairs would oh a lounge show yeah it's like the weird ones where it they're they it's
27:35like a play but they're naked oh do you know what i mean i don't know why they're naked well they're
27:41naked to get people to come to yes yeah see i was there for the story i was like what this doesn't
27:45connect why is the alien having sex with the maid i don't understand um i was confused so why didn't
27:52you go why did you go to the that show did you it seemed just strange to you and you thought that
27:57would be the one to see i thought it was going to be a fun show about space and then i get in there
28:01and titties i was very confused i didn't know i had never been to a vegas show before that was my first
28:08time and i just thought i thought that's the one you went to i thought the cosmo was a family
28:13establishment i didn't know that's what they were doing you know what none of it is really for the
28:18family they say it is and there are spots you can go but um yeah no no they're saying yeah but it's
28:23good thing you didn't bring any kids along with you because that would have been quite a surprise
28:27um you're also speaking of kids in uh zootopia too the sequel to zootopia yes yes my kids loved
28:36that movie that's great the first one was so wonderful i was so honored to ask to be part of
28:42the second one um it's an incredible incredible movie if you haven't taken your family yet it's a
28:49great i think everybody did it seems like everybody in the world went to see it already right i know i
28:54know yeah it was either like that or wicked over the break i put well i promise you yes we will be
28:59seeing that movie over and over and over and over and over and over and over again yeah yeah excited
29:04well it's great to see you uh the mid-season finale yes mid-season finale is what we're calling it
29:10it's like halftime of the season yes don't you have that too here no no we just keep going and going
29:16and going until people throw up i hope you keep going and going going for really long well thank you i
29:20appreciate that the great quinta brunson everybody avid elementary wednesday nights 8 30 here at 86

29:44good year her album escape room is up for a grammy she has a hit tv show on hulu called all's fair and
29:50this morning she was nominated for a golden globe for the movie one battle after another this is a new
29:55consciousness and consciousness yeah i'm not your other buddy i'm not your mother
30:04mother you want your power over me the same reason you want your power over the world
30:12you and your crumbling ego will never do this revolution like me one battle after another
30:18is in theaters and on demand now please welcome tiana taylor
30:34you know what you look like an award winner in this uh oh my god thank you i knew i was coming to see
30:53you today i was like let me throw on my suit congratulations there i just mentioned i mean
30:58you seem to have been nominated for all the awards there are you might get a fifa peace prize while
31:04you're out maybe take me through your morning do you wake up to find out if you're nominated how
31:11does it work yeah it's crazy because i had got my feet and nails done late last night and um i
31:17wound up falling asleep on the couch and usually i'm like a 7 a.m waker upper okay the nominations came
31:23on at five right for some reason it was like i just kept tossing and turning and then my people
31:28was in the kitchen making noise and i sleep light so i woke up and it was on i was like ah and i tried to
31:33turn back around and go back to sleep but then i couldn't so i was just sitting there watching
31:38my stomach was in my booty i was just like what is what's about to happen and i guess what we was
31:43watching was delayed because then my whole team called me on a group chat it's like 20 of us
31:47oh my agents everybody called me like ah congratulations i was like wait they didn't say it yet
31:52hold on what's happening yeah so somebody had hit pause on your dvr yeah i was like i'm a little
31:58delayed i'm a little delayed who was most excited in your family about this my mom your mom my mom
32:04everybody is super excited but i actually get scared when i'm nominated for something because
32:08she will like almost catch an asthma attack i'm like girl you have to calm down really no she's like
32:14i'm like mom like you know i'd be scared i'm like winning is scared yeah it's scary winning
32:25is scary because my mom is like hyperventilating i'm like girl you got to calm down how are you
32:29going to handle this with your mom if she comes will she come with you to any of these shows i'm
32:33going to she is going to come with me but we're going to have to have a little talk before
32:37we go and get this popping because it's like girl a doctor with you is really that's what i'm saying
32:42i mean i'm already in culinary school i'm thinking maybe i should just go to school for
32:45you know to be a nurse you are going to culinary school right yeah maybe it would make sense to
32:51take a paramedic class you know what i'm saying i mean at this point i'm doing i'm doing everything
32:55i love that you're going to culinary school in the middle of this you've got all this stuff going on
33:00with the music career and the acting career and you're like i'm going to learn to cook yes because
33:04culinary cooking the art of it uh keeps me grounded you know it gives you the time to be in the
33:11kitchen and be quiet right you know what i'm saying and really just like cook and smell the food and
33:18taste test all the food and eat all the food you know what i'm saying but when you say you're going
33:22to culinary school do you go to a place and you're in a class with other students learning how to chop
33:27and that yeah so i go to this coffee yeah they actually do have a campus but of course i'm here with
33:33you i can't be on campus so i get to do it online which is actually harder because you don't have
33:38it's much harder chef there to say no fix this fix this it's kind of like figure it out so you keep
33:43up no matter where you are i keep up no matter where i was on my way to the one battle after
33:47another premiere doing my discussion panels my discussion forums like i don't play no games
33:52like i take pride in making sure my school work is turned in i'm a straight a student
33:59i'll be so proud i'll be so proud yeah what do you like making what are you learning to make and what
34:05do you enjoy making you know what's crazy out of everything i've been learning so much like i mean
34:09like fabricating protein all types of stuff but my favorite and i think it's the kids favorite is
34:13making pizza from scratch making pizza from scratch yeah it was really really good but it wasn't like
34:19the journal delivery of journal it wasn't that like it's like real brick style like pizza but i also
34:25made butter from scratch cornbread um whipped cream uh palms puree uh peel off rice
34:34all type i mean i'm learning i i even opened up my pallets a lot of things that i thought oh
34:39it's now making you eat more things yeah i've never been a fan of zucchini until now until i made
34:45it it's so much stuff that i'm like oh i would never did you how am i going to pass this test but
34:49then i know you like to bring food uh as i recall to the award shows a sneak food i smuggle food
34:56into the award you smuggle food in the order yes i do which is smart because they go on for four hours
35:00and nobody has anything to eat yeah just as long as i don't get banned you know yeah well no i don't
35:05think you can get banned for that in fact people get pretty excited in fact at the golden globes it's
35:09like a circular table right you know what i heard that the food be good at the golden globes oh so
35:14they do have food at the golden yeah they said it's a round table you've been there no i've never been
35:18to the golden globes no you're gonna celebrate your friend well i'm not saying i'm gonna win i'm just
35:23saying yeah i'll come with you sure we're gonna have on our suits will your parents be mad or your mom
35:28be mad no i just think you've got to bring an inhaler you know you're gonna have to work
35:32you know what i'm saying i'll take cpr class and then i'll come with you we got to calm mickey taylor
35:37down and she'd be she's so cute she'd just be so happy she was on the plane today didn't have no
35:41wi-fi so she couldn't get on a group the group chat call today so she's in the text like i'm losing it on
35:46this plane at all times there's no wi-fi she finally got the wi-fi by the way you were absolutely great in
35:52the movie i did want to say that thank you thank you you and leo really do some uh making out and
36:01so i mean there's some uh there's licking involved there's all sorts of stuff happening there that's
36:06all you got from that well it's not all i got but it's the top line item um and uh so do you like did
36:15you when you work with leo had like were you like uh just titanic you're too young for that right you
36:21you know what's crazy is technically i was too young for titanic i was not too young to be in
36:27front of a window pane singing celine dion with all everything in me like literally when titanic
36:32came out it would be i was like seven or eight first of all you guys and i would be in the hallway
36:38playing around with my friends like we all play in the hallway and my mom would play you know the
36:43titanic soundtrack out loud and while all the other kids is playing my ear is to the door and i mean i'm
36:48singing every night and i mean i'm like singing my heart out like i'm in front of a window pane and
36:54it's raining you hear me i said listen i am too young to be this invested into the titanic and celine
37:01but it was just everything and you love the movie itself i love the movie itself yes i love the movie
37:06i love the soundtrack like everything i was mad when when when my girl threw it through the chain back in
37:12the pool right i was upset about that you're already through jack now you're gonna throw the
37:17chain yeah she's very inconsiderate one thing she's gonna do is put something under that water
37:22she's gonna let it go she let that hand go oh you frozen goodbye and then put the chain in there
37:28i said oh my god i don't even know what to congratulate congratulations on all of the things i
37:33guess yeah maybe next time you come back we could do some cooking or something like that that would
37:37be so much fun you could show us something that you've learned yeah yeah i want to tell everybody
37:42one battle after another it's in theaters and on demand now and the season of all spirits tomorrow
