00:00Welcome to viewers who have joined us on BBC One Scotland, as ever no shortage of drama
00:13across Scottish football, Stephen Cragan and Tom English alongside me in the studio, some
00:19really important games, some big action you'd have to say in the second half, none more
00:24so than up there at Dens Park, Willie Miller is there for us, Dundee and at home to Abbey
00:30quite a tonne around there, Willie. Absolutely, yeah, Dundee very passive in the first half,
00:37Abbey in total control, playing a lot of slick football, getting the two goals, getting the
00:42nose in front, looked as though it was all over for Dundee but they fought back Ryan Ashley
00:47getting one in 60 minutes, Connor from the right hand side, they managed to squeeze it
00:52in at the near post and they've dominated the second half, Dundee are on fire at this moment
00:57in time and Aberdeen are struggling, so much so that I think it's bringing on a couple
01:03of substitutes, Keskin and Schinney to see if they can kind of claw back some control of
01:09this game, it's 2-1, it's very close and all to play for.
01:12It is remarkable Stephen, we've got all the games coming into the studio here and that
01:15game looks so one-sided for much of that first half, Stephen Presley's clearly been very
01:21strong you'd imagine the players in the dressing room at halftime and he's got the reaction.
01:24Well I'd say when it went 2-0 I couldn't see a way back for Dundee because Aberdeen were
01:29so dominant and I suppose it was one of two things could happen at halftime, Aberdeen
01:32take the foot off the gas and Dundee take the shackles off and go and try and chase
01:36Aberdeen down and both have happened, which is why now Ryan Ashley made it 2-1 and it's
01:41all Dundee, it's all about Aberdeen now standing firm, they've been to something, they've had
01:45a clean sheet, they have to try and show the same resilience, what they did against Kilmarnock,
01:50what they did in Europe, away to Larnaca, all those characteristics will be required
01:54this afternoon.
01:55Yes and they'll test for the Dunds now isn't it Tom, you'd have to see a lot of credit
01:58must go to these Dundee players.
01:59Yeah, a lot of spirit from Dundee, they looked at halftime they looked gone, and Aberdeen
02:04it was two, it was going on three maybe, Dundee looked like a busted flush, but I suppose
02:11in that kind of desperation they've found something and Aberdeen are very very deep, the dominant
02:18team now is Dundee, there's no doubt about it.
02:21Right, an equaliser for our Broth, away at Dunfermline, Brooklyn Cabangolo with that goal
02:25on 75 minutes, a bit of a fight back for Dumbarton, away at Edinburgh City, Leighton McIntosh
02:30with a penalty there in 70 minutes, but they still trail by four goals to do, let's get back
02:34then to the Premiership and get to the game at Easter Road, Hibbs are at home to fall cut
02:39this afternoon, there for us is Alan Preston.
02:41We are Hibbs lead by two goals to now and it's just a set fall quicker on the attack, Hibbs were
02:45brilliant in that first half, none more so than Josh Mulligan.
02:47He absolutely ran the show and he took the lead in 36 minutes, Lyssa catches Boyle as
02:52he's going through on goal, the referee points to the spot after a quick BR check, that was
02:56confirmed, upstep Boyle to smash the ball right down the middle into the back of the net, it
03:00was 2-0 in 41 minutes, Mulligan again involved, really good play to Kieran Bowie, first touch
03:05on his right foot, set him up to his left and this curling shot gave Scott Bain absolutely
03:09no chance.
03:10Fall kick at this point, were done and dusted, it looked like they were never in it, but the
03:14second half, John McGrins made a couple of changes, got them right back in the game
03:17and they actually score the goal in 64 minutes, Adjeman through to Ross, he goes through and
03:22scores, beats Salinger, but after a very quick VAR check and the goal was ruled out for offside,
03:26Wolken made much of a better fist of it in the second half, but have Burnham still lead
03:29by two goals to now.
03:30Thanks to Alan Preston, Stephen, it's a similar story, albeit they haven't got the goal that
03:34Dundee have got, they're back in this game in terms of performance, they've had a lot
03:38of pressure in the second half, haven't they, the away side?
03:40I just felt as if Falkirk lacked a little bit of belief in the first half, and they probably
03:45had that feeling last week at Ibrox, they didn't trust themselves, they weren't good
03:48enough with the ball, Kenny.
03:50They've come out the second half, they've taken a little bit more responsibility with the
03:52ball, more forceful in their play, Brian Graham played up front in the first half, doesn't
03:56really give them the ability to stretch the game, Alfie Aguiman has been lively since
04:00he came on, his hold-up play, his ability to run in behind, has just created that bit
04:04more space for Falkirk to go and try and create their magic, but they need to get the goal,
04:08when you're in top, you need to get it back to 2-1.
04:10The home side are also in top in the game at Fir Park, Motherwell are at home to Livingston
04:14this afternoon, let's get the very latest, I'm Derek Lilly.
04:16Yes, 2-0 to Motherwell here against Livingston, I mean, after they went 2-0, 2-0 up Motherwell,
04:24there's a rough substitution that's been made, Livingston's going a lot more direct in the
04:28second half, up front now we've got Muirhead, Bortelli, and this number 30's up front as
04:34well, Yenge, so they've got a lot of height up front, they're going more direct, so the
04:39game's getting really stretched, however Motherwell, they're trying to pick them off,
04:42you know, they're taking their time with the ball, finding that pass, getting in behind,
04:46doesn't look as if they're going to get a third goal yet, the game's, you know, it's a bit
04:50scrappy, Motherwell's, you know, trying to play the better football, I'd say, and Livingston's
04:55trying to make a fight of it, you know, that obviously Motherwell's got a lot more quality
04:58on their side, that's pretty evident, but still 2-0 Motherwell.
05:01Yeah, we can see pictures, Tom coming into the studio, David Martindale, really animated
05:06in the touchline there, and you can maybe just recap for people who are just joining us
05:09on television, you brought up some news earlier on in VAR, there were some strong comments
05:14from David Martindale, and I think yourself and Stephen Cregan feel he may be aggrieved
05:18after this game in terms of the penalty it was given against him.
05:21Yeah, the goal that made it 2-0, Stamatolopoulos with a penalty spot, Katrumbus, a judge to
05:27be tripped by Lewis Smith, it looks soft, I'd like to see another one, it did look soft, Martindale
05:34has obviously spoken about VAR, he spoke about VAR pre-match, he would bin it, right now,
05:39he would bin it. We have a story on the website we were talking about earlier on, the Dave Cormack,
05:43the Aberdeen chairman, says that a 60-second limit should be put on VAR checks, and if
05:48a decision is not clear and obvious after a minute, then the referee's on-field decision
05:52should stand, and he also said that there should be a suspension of VAR if standards don't
06:00improve. I think David Martindale's post-match interview, like all David Martindale interviews,
06:06will be a popcorn moment.
06:08Yeah, stay tuned for that, because we were so strong pre-match, we put it to three managers,
06:12the story that Tom brought us, so we put it to David Martindale, very, very strong, he
06:16has bin it now. We also heard from Stephen Robinson and also Jim Goodwin. In terms of the game
06:21there, Stephen Motherwell, very good, they're very much in control, aren't they?
06:25It almost looks at times, Kenny, one, it's too easy for them, and two, they're playing second
06:29gear. Because they trust their system, they understand how they play. We said ahead of the game
06:35that earlier in the season, they lacked a cutting edge. They've managed to find that. And because
06:40they dominate the game so much, now they have the game exactly where they want it. Livingston are
06:44forcing the game, Livingston are coming on to them, which just creates even more space for
06:47Motherwell to go and play in in the final third of the pitch, and potentially get more goals.
06:51And I'm not going to put it out there, but Motherwell are six points behind the league leaders.
06:56So, hang on, hang on, hang on.
06:57I know the title race.
06:58What are you suggesting?
07:00It's been as close as it's been to the top of the table for a long time at the stage of the season.
07:04Right, let's get to Ian Alde up there in Dingwall.
07:07Ross County back in it. It was a miss-hit, but it doesn't matter. I'll count nonetheless.
07:12Jay Henderson from inside the area. Great work for Miller-Thompson down the left-hand side.
07:17Cut back, found Jay Henderson and his fellow sub beat Cade Melrose for the first time this
07:22afternoon. Ross County one, Airdre and Ian's two.
07:24Yeah, and we'll just stick with that game, because I could see the reaction from you guys
07:29in the studio. It was one of total shock when they went 2-0 down in that game, County.
07:32And I just think, Stan, even if we look at the live table, they have bought them on the
07:36table, Tom. It's been such a struggle this season for them, hasn't it?
07:40It has, yeah. I mean, if you'd said, here we are in early December and Ross County were
07:44going to be bottom of the championship, no one would have believed you. Given the investment
07:48that they have there, given the players that they have, or thought they had. But, you know,
07:55two wins from 16 games, including this one, if they don't win it. It's a lot of goals
08:02being conceded, not many being scored, not as many as you'd think they'd score. It's been
08:08a tale of woe for Ross County. Bottom of the championship as it stands in the second.
08:13It's remarkable.
08:14Right, let's go back to the top flight then and get to the game in pace. They submit it
08:19at home to the D&D. Before we do that, let's go back to Alan Press on the Easter Road.
08:23And it's Bowie. I think it's Campbell to the byline, whips it across. Bowie makes a really
08:28good front post run. Taps it into the back of the net. Volker to what an offside? I don't
08:33think so. 3-0 at Hibbs. Very good. Into the 80th minute.
08:37There's the problem when you're attacking the game and chasing the game. You're going to leave
08:40spaces in behind. It's a simple ball down the right-hand channel. Josh Campbell makes
08:45a lovely run from the centre of the pitch into the wide area. Faces it across goal.
08:48And the man we spoke about earlier in the game, Kieran Bowie, he's now found his touch
08:52again. He's enjoying his football. He looks fresh. He looks energetic. Now I think that's
08:56game over.
08:57See, I think there's one. I mean, you look at the World Cup squad and he may bring four
09:02strikers. And George Hurst currently is one of the four. I think that spot is up for grabs.
09:09And Bowie now is laying down a bit of a claim. So I think it could be nip and tuck. If Bowie
09:14keeps going like this.
09:15Do you think Shanklin's the third?
09:17I think Shanklin, yeah, yeah. So you're talking Dykes, Adam Shanklin to run the play.
09:20Tommy Conway, is it Tommy Conway?
09:21Tommy Conway in the frame.
09:23I think that fourth, that fourth striker spot is up for grabs.
09:28And Bowie is doing himself no harm today.
09:30I just think he does so much to his game. He's such an exciting talent. We'll discuss that
09:34a little more later on. The conversation will continue on BBC Radio Scotland this evening.
09:38On the telly till about 17 minutes past five. We're going to have fans joining us on the
09:43telly tonight to give a reaction to the games they're at today, but also the reaction to
09:47the thing we're all talking about, the World Cup draw that was made last night. We'll get
09:51confirmation of exactly where Scotland will be playing just after five o'clock. We'll bring
09:55that to you. But if you've got a thought on that, if you've made some plans, if you're
09:58going to definitely be going to the World Cup, drop us a voice note on WhatsApp. 08085
10:0292-95-00. We'll get them out later in the programme. So let's then get to the game in
10:08Paisley. St Mirren, Hogden and Dean. Get the latest from Ian McCall.
10:11Hi Kenny. Yeah, I mean, the Dean and 8 are making a real game of it. They've been comfortably
10:15the better team in the second half, but it was St Mirren who got the goal. I mean, St Mirren
10:20took the lead as early as the 16th minute. They dominated the first half and Declan John,
10:24who's put in a number of great crosses today, crossed with a lot of pace into the box and
10:29was headed home to Conor McMenham. And they totally deserved that lead. It looked like
10:33St Mirren were really, really up for it from the kickoff. Second half, the Dean and I have
10:38played OK. Jim Goodwin changed the system back to the normal 3-4-3. And they've had one
10:43or two lot of chances. In fact, they've hit the bar twice. Sartesford rattled the free
10:48kick off the bar. And then a minute later, St Mirren went out of the bar. And again, it was
10:53a Declan John cross. Phillips is a good header. Goalie probably should have done better.
10:58And Keanu Back has got his first goal from St Mirren to St Mirren to put the home side
11:032-0 up. Five minutes after that, in the 72nd minute, Craig Sibold rattled the crossbar
11:09again with another great strike. So the Dean and I have played well in the second half,
11:13but St Mirren still deserving of their 2-0 lead.
11:15Conor Salmon has put Allo Athletic 3-0 up at home to Peterhead. Stephen, I asked you before
11:20kickoff today to pick the game you were really interested in. You chose that game in Paisley.
11:25Just tell us why. Well, just because both sides have probably felt they're actually playing
11:30OK, but the results haven't followed suit. I think ahead of this one, St Mirren, eight
11:36games ready to win. Dundee United, one league win in nine. So you thought something had to
11:40give this afternoon. It was always probably going to be who had the most hunger, who had
11:44the real desire and drive. And St Mirren had it. So they've now got themselves in front.
11:48We've said it. Cup final next weekend. Players desperate to play in the cup final.
11:52And it'll just be a bit of a sigh of relief that they get into that game in a fresh mood
11:56if they can see the game out.
11:57As well, Stephen, where do they play Gogic in the cup final? Because he's been a men's
12:02centre midfield today. Does he drop him back into the back three? Or do they play him
12:06in the back three? He's an absolute warrior.
12:07Well, you'll have to probably think if whoever's taken his place in the back three, I think
12:10you said Richard King. If he's a bit of liability or if he hasn't been playing well.
12:16Ian, it also depends on the fitness of Mark O'Hara.
12:18Yeah. I spoke to him before the game, actually, and I think he's hopeful, but he's not certain.
12:24So I think if he's fit, he plays middle of the pitch and Gogic's place. If O'Hara isn't
12:28fit, then you're right. He's really got a dilemma.
12:30And because I've mentioned Kieran Bowie today, I also have to mention George Hurst, because
12:35he too has scored for Ipswich Town. They're winning 2-0 against Coventry, League Leaders
12:39Coventry.
12:40All good news.
12:41Big result. Yeah, the more Scottish striker, so many goals.
12:44What are you taking, George? Today, which one are you taking? Kieran Bowie or George
12:47Hurst?
12:50Come on, Tom.
12:52I don't know. I'm sitting on the fence for once in my life.
12:54Just give us a name. I'm a revisitor again in June.
12:59Tom's still a bit hurt from earlier on in the show, I think.
13:01Oh, for Mullowell.
13:02Right, let's get to Derek Lilley.
13:05Down the right-hand side, Charles Cook got in behind the full-back.
13:08Cleared there, plenty of space in behind him. He took his time and he's played a nice ball
13:14across the edge of the six-yard box. It's number 45 for Mullowell, who can run as a sub.
13:18He's scored the goal.
13:20We've got number four, Lungelo. Lungelo took it away, right-footed.
13:24Yeah, it was done. I mean, the game was getting so stretched.
13:28Mullowell were knocking about the ball really, really nicely and I've just picked him off
13:32and I think that's the game done now. 3-0, Mullowell.
13:34Just while you're with us, Derek, you were a prolific striker in your day.
13:38What do you make of Kieran Bowie?
13:40Do you know what? As we were talking about earlier on, I would take him.
13:43I think he's young, he's raw, he's powerful, you know, and he's fearless.
13:48And I think that's a big thing you need. You need that bit of an X factor.
13:51And, you know, why not take him along and throw him on?
13:53Because he's a bit of an unknown quantity.
13:55But, you know, you can see in the Premier League, in a lot of the big matches I've seen him playing in,
13:59he's handled himself well and he's a clubber player as well.
14:02You know, seeing him, he can lead that line well, I would definitely take him.
14:05He has been in the squad.
14:07Yes.
14:08And he lost a bit of form.
14:09But he looks to be back in form now.
14:11That's going to be interesting.
14:12And we're going to have great fun doing this until the squad is actually there.
14:16Week after week.
14:17Week after week.
14:17It's a great game of speculation.
14:20And you're going to keep your way out on what the potential we're going to find out.
14:24Hopefully we're still on television today.
14:25We're on television at 70 minutes past five.
14:27Yeah, yeah.
14:27The confirmation of where we'll actually be playing against this summer.
14:30Yeah, it's wonderful because FIFA are having another one of those lovely shows.
14:33So we all enjoyed yesterday so much.
14:35We're doing it again today.
14:36Oh my goodness.
14:37I'll give you a phone call about the expected goals.
14:40Right, OK.
14:41So some goals going in.
14:43Aloua 5-0 up.
14:44Now we're home to Peter Head.
14:46And Aloua 4-0 up.
14:47Sorry, it's just come through.
14:48It's been chopped off that goal.
14:504-0 up and then 5-0 up Burnside.
14:52With a goal there on 86 minutes.
14:53Perhaps a bit of confusion on Viddy Printer there.
14:56Let's get to the games in the Championship.
14:58Let's get to Somerset Park.
14:59Air United at home to Partick Thistle.
15:01Get the latest from Chris Doolan.
15:03And it's still 0-0 here in Ayrshire, Kenny.
15:05Air United have actually had the two best chances, I think, of this second half.
15:09And it's probably the reverse of what was happening in the first half.
15:12Because Thistle had the best chances late on.
15:14Both sides have kind of flung everything at it late on just now.
15:18But, you know, the massive chance.
15:20It was 58 minutes.
15:21Ethan Walker broke away.
15:22Jamie Murphy's been exceptional.
15:24He's just been taken off.
15:25But he's been exceptional.
15:26Those through balls he's played today, he's been brilliant.
15:29Ethan Walker ran away from Luke McBeth.
15:31And he tried to clip it over the goalkeeper from about 25 yards.
15:34And he has clipped it over the goalkeeper.
15:36But he's clipped it wide of the post as well.
15:37And they were almost made to pay for that a minute later when Fitzpatrick broke up the pitch for Thistle.
15:42Cut inside and hit a fantastic shot.
15:44And it was saved very, very well by their United goalkeeper, Russell, onto the post.
15:48But then there was another massive chance for Dowdes.
15:51Anton Dowdes came on at the hour mark for A United.
15:55Again, Jamie Murphy slipped him in inside the box.
15:57And he took a terrific touch from his right foot onto his left foot.
16:01And he got a terrific shot away.
16:02But it was well saved by Clarke.
16:03I think he just gets a touch on it no more to stop it becoming 1-0 to United.
16:08But both sides just now throwing everything at it in the last stages.
16:11But a reverse of what was happening in the first half.
16:14And it looks as if it's going to go all the way to the wire here.
16:15But still 0-0 in Somerset.
16:17Late goal for Stirling Albion.
16:18Sun Ra 3, Stirling Albion 2.
16:20Adam Brown on 89 minutes late.
16:22Equal eyes of a Queen of the South at home to Cove Rangers.
16:25Matty Douglas on 88-1 apiece in that game.
16:28Just confirmation coming through that goal for Langello.
16:30Motherwell 3, Livingston 0.
16:33Let's then stay in the championship.
16:35We have from Chris Dooling down there at Somerset Park.
16:37Let's get to the game at McDermott Park.
16:39St Johnston at home to Wraith Rovers.
16:41And here from Rory Loy.
16:42Yes, it remains to St Johnston 0.
16:43Wraith Rovers 0.
16:45It's been wave after wave after wave of attack from St Johnston in the second half.
16:50Some of it's possessed little bits of quality with no end product.
16:53Other parts have been really, really poor.
16:55Lots of crosses.
16:56Overhit going out for corners.
16:58Sorry, goal kicks and throw-ins.
17:00And another overhit pass there gets Wraith Rovers a goal kick.
17:03I expected Wraith Rovers to show more today.
17:05They have had no attacking intent whatsoever in this second half.
17:09In the first half, however, Diabati should have put St Johnston 1-0 up within the first 10 minutes.
17:13He had a couple of golden opportunities from headers from wider areas, which he put by the post.
17:18McPake had a chance.
17:18Mallon had a chance as well, as did Sidibe.
17:21Jordan Doherty had the best chance for Wraith Rovers and probably the best chance of the game in 33 minutes.
17:25He headed into the goalkeeper's arms when he really should have put it into the back of the net.
17:30St Johnston will keep pushing.
17:32Ichi Ikpiezu has come on.
17:33He's a big lad.
17:34I think that's an understatement.
17:35He's just had a shot, which has been saved.
17:37An absolute masterclass in defending from Darroch O'Connor and Paul Hanlon today, though.
17:41And it remains St Johnston 0.
17:43Wraith Rovers 0.
17:43Thanks to Rory Loy.
17:45Let's get back to the game ending.
17:47Will it be late, late on there?
17:48Perhaps just some time left, Ian All, for the home side to grab an equaliser?
17:53Yeah, Kenny, we're three minutes into stoppage time now.
17:56Cade Melrose and the Airdrie goal is holding on to everything, as you're imagining.
17:59Going to the ground.
18:00Callum Scott's just had a quick check of his watch.
18:02He's got the whistle in his mouth.
18:03I think there's not long left in this one.
18:05It's still Airdrie leading by two goals to one.
18:08Airdrie have been brilliant in the second half.
18:09Got two goals on the counter, you would say.
18:12Gavin Gallagher scoring with a neat finish from inside.
18:14The 18-yard box.
18:15And then Ewan Henderson tapping in at the back post after a great play from Chris Mockery.
18:19Jay Henderson has brought Ross County back into the game.
18:23And they're still knocking at the door.
18:24Airdrie defending for their lives at the moment.
18:27It's Ross County who are rock bottom of the championship.
18:30They trail by two goals to one.
18:32Jamie Gulland has just rattled the outside of the post versus Johnson.
18:34That could be the last action of the game.
18:36It's still 0-0.
18:37But Simo Valakari will be wondering how on earth it is still 0-0.
18:41As Jamie Gulland rattles the post into the 92nd minute here now.
18:45Still 0-0.
18:45Yeah, real excitement across the country.
18:47Let's get back to that game at Denz Park.
18:49Dundee against Aberdeen.
18:51Right, we'll come back to you in a second.
18:53Let's get to that game.
18:54It's on a knife edge up there, will he?
18:56Well, it is, yeah.
18:56Yeah, and you know, in the second half performance, Dundee deserves something out of this game.
19:01Aberdeen have really struggled.
19:03They've been pinned back and Dundee have just thrown.
19:06And it's a chance in the box.
19:07Oh, Simon Murray swipes at it as he's trying to turn.
19:11And hits it on the turn and he misses it completely and falls on his backside.
19:15And now Aberdeen on the counter.
19:17One of the very few attacks in the second half.
19:19But it has been all about Dundee.
19:22Aberdeen have really struggled and Dundee have put up a fine second half performance.
19:26They've got that one goal back and they're pushing for equaliser.
19:30You're right to say it's on a knife edge.
19:32Dundee looking very dangerous every time they go up the park.
19:35But as yet, haven't managed to get that second goal that would earn them a share of the points.
19:40Yeah, a real cracking second half up there at Denz Park.
19:44Let's get back to the game at Fur Park.
19:47Full time in Dingwall.
19:49Oh, there's a big shoot for a penalty there.
19:52Full time at Fur Park.
19:54Oral 3.
19:55That makes a no.
19:55Right, a win for Motherwell.
19:56A win for Airdrie up there in Dingwall.
20:00Let's get back to Willemiller.
20:01I can see Simon Murray on the ground.
20:02He's furious.
20:04He's got a better view of it, guys.
20:06I think it's...
20:07Oh, it's a pass back.
20:08No.
20:08I think it's Jack Millen that puts the challenge in and Simon Murray.
20:13And Simon Murray definitely goes down rather spectacularly.
20:16And the ball wasn't taken.
20:19They're asking the question, but we're played on.
20:22So, obviously, they're not going to check it.
20:24Or they have had a quick check at it.
20:26And nothing doing as far as the penalty is concerned.
20:29I would say it's a risky tactic by Jack Millen because he actually tackles Simon Murray.
20:34And Nicky Devlin takes the ball.
20:36Full time at the Dermot Parks and Johnson 0.
20:37Wraith Rovers 0.
20:37Home support not happy.
20:39No, we can hear that in the background.
20:41Have you had a chance at the ball?
20:42Yeah.
20:43Have you had a chance at the ball?
20:43Look at it, Stephen.
20:44Jack Millen, I don't think, gets the ball.
20:46I don't think he got it either.
20:47Too sure how much contact he makes with Simon Murray.
20:50He does lunge towards Simon Murray, whether he makes contact or not.
20:53Nicky Devlin actually takes the ball.
20:55So, clearly, VAR has cleared that very, very quickly.
20:57Very quickly.
20:58Full time at Somerset, Kenny.
20:59United 0.
21:00Partick Thistle 0.
21:02Well done, VAR.
21:03You don't hear that phrase very often.
21:04We don't have the anger here that we need.
21:07Full time at St Mirren Park, Kenny.
21:07St Mirren 2 to United 0.
21:09Great confidence boost for Stephen Robinson's side ahead of next weekend's league cup final against Celtic.
21:14Full coverage right here on Sports.
21:16And it looks like a late winner for Arbroath.
21:19The second goal of the game for Caban Golan.
21:21The 94th minute, Danferman 1, Arbroath 2.
21:24So, we're waiting for a replay to come through.
21:26A good angle to come through from that game up there at Dens Park.
21:30But a few minutes still to go in that one.
21:32So, let's just stick with you, Willie, for now.
21:35Because Aberdeen have got a chance to relieve some pressure up there right now.
21:38Yeah, they could be doing with it, to be perfectly honest.
21:41In the first half, they were outstanding with some of their play.
21:44And getting the two goals through Ossic as well.
21:47Set them up.
21:48We've only got three minutes in the second half to play.
21:51There hasn't been too many substitutes right enough.
21:53So, and there's been very few stoppages.
21:56But Dundee piled.
21:57They've just piled on the pressure down the slope.
22:00I did see a hill a little bit earlier.
22:02So, upgraded it from a slope to a hill.
22:04It's definitely a slope.
22:05I can confirm that.
22:06And they've just battered Aberdeen.
22:10And Aberdeen have had no answer.
22:11They've had no answer.
22:14They've had no answer for it.
22:15Very few counters.
22:18You know, Aberdeen have really struggled.
22:20But they've held out so far.
22:22You know, we've got, what, two and a half minutes to go.
22:24And if they do pick up the three points thing,
22:27that would take them into the top six above Falkett, wouldn't it?
22:30Of my standings at this moment in time.
22:33Yeah, I think that's right.
22:34You're right.
22:35So, that's a brilliant turnaround for Jimmy Tallinn.
22:38If they can hold on, always bearing in mind that they lost one
22:43at the last touch of the ball just at midweek.
22:45So, Jimmy Tallinn will be hoping that they can show more composure,
22:50more organisation, more confidence in dealing with the situation.
22:53But a fabulous second half performance from Dundee.
22:56Absolutely magnificent.
22:57And Nisbet on there.
23:01Oh!
23:02Oh!
23:04What a goal that is, Kevin Nisbet!
23:07Back and form.
23:08He's been looking like it.
23:10He just stops the ball outside the box.
23:12He takes his right foot.
23:14He wraps it round.
23:15McCracken just does not move.
23:18And it just nestles into the far corner.
23:20Absolutely magnificent way for Aberdeen to finish this game.
23:25He actually finishes it with the outside of his right foot.
23:27Yeah.
23:27The ball comes to him, stops it dead.
23:29There's loads of space because Dundee are really disjointed.
23:31They're chasing the game.
23:33Right-hand corner of the box stops the ball and just nonchalantly,
23:36outside of his right foot, just puts it past John McCracken.
23:39Doesn't even move.
23:40No.
23:40That's what I meant by wrapping it round.
23:42Yeah.
23:42And that's why clearly there's a lot of movement on the ball because McCracken doesn't even
23:47put his hand out towards it.
23:49He knows it's past him and what a way to finish a game.
23:51But also, while you're talking there, Aberdeen over the past six or seven games, domestically
23:55anyway, have added a little bit of steeliness to themselves, harder to play against.
23:59And Aberdeen in last season and an Aberdeen in the first six or seven games of this season
24:02wouldn't have been able to defend like that.
24:04Absolutely.
24:05But for once, I've got a perfect view.
24:08It's down at the right-hand side here and Nisbet, he's back to me.
24:13And I can see exactly what he's trying to do, but you've still got to execute that.
24:17It was quite an incredible finish and you're right.
24:19It moved.
24:20It moved so much.
24:21There was a huge bend on it going into the far post.
24:24So Aberdeen on the attack again as well.
24:27Kesskanen can he show composure?
24:28He does show composure.
24:30Nothing comes of it, unfortunately.
24:32I've done many commentaries in Kesskanen and that is just the repeat of most commentaries
24:38that I've done so far this time at Pichaudry.
24:41He gets you up the part.
24:42There's no doubt about that.
24:43But when he gets in and around the box, he doesn't have the composure.
24:46So the Aberdeen fans are in form.
24:48Hey, there's, I don't know how many he's down here.
24:51There's 7,402, but the Aberdeen fans, a phenomenal response from them.
24:59They're thoroughly enjoying what they're saying.
25:01I don't think they were seeing.
25:03There it is, full time.
25:04We've got an Aberdeen take.
25:06They take the honours.
25:073-2 in a very tough second half for them.
25:10But a magnificent finish from Kevin Nisbet just towards the end of the game.
25:16Makes it to all three points and top six for the Dons.
25:19Yeah, they're always travelling great numbers, Aberdeen.
25:21We'll go through the tables for you.
25:22We'll do the classifies in just one minute.
25:25It's been such a busy day again in Scottish football.
25:27The conversation will continue on BBC Radio Scott and reaction from managers, pundits and the fans.
25:33Lots of fans will come on.
25:34They've been at the games today.
25:35They'll talk about it.
25:36They'll also give us a reaction to the World Cup draw.
25:39So much for us all to look forward to next summer.
25:42We're on air until around about half past ten tonight because we have that game done at Rugby Park.
25:47Come on again, Strangers.
25:48That kicks off at eight o'clock.
25:51We're on TV for another, what, 20 minutes or so.
25:53We might try and bring some managers to you.
25:55We can see the pitchers come in, huge celebrations through there in Paisley.
25:59Stephen Robinson looking absolutely delighted.
26:01Jens Bertolasco going round the pitch at Fair Park.
26:04Another really good performance from his side.
26:06And Jimmy Tallinn, he's in the park now at Dens Park.
26:09Just congratulating both sets of players there.
26:12It's been a really terrific day, you'd have to say, right across Scottish football.
26:15Tom, we'll do the classifies just shortly.
26:17But so many talking points.
26:19Yeah, I mean, there always is.
26:22So many controversial, a few controversial decisions.
26:26Some terrific goals.
26:27Lisbeth won possibly the pick of the lot.
26:31Big, powerful performance from Hibbs.
26:34Kieran Bowie re-emerging as a striker.
26:38Maybe he'll be considering for a World Cup place.
26:41Aberdeen continuing their very good form.
26:43Said Merrin getting a win.
26:45So timely for them with the Cup final to come up.
26:47And Motherwell continuing doing Motherwell things.
26:52Winning games, scoring goals, entertaining.
26:55And Stephen has tipped him for...
26:57Four clean sheets in a row.
26:58Four clean sheets in a row.
26:59Stephen has tipped him for to win the title.
27:01I was just putting it in the mix to see if you would nibble.
27:03And you have, thank you.
27:04Oh, I've nibbled.
27:06I'll nibble all day.
27:07I was doing with Tam Cowan a couple of weeks ago.
27:10And I was talking...
27:10We had a discussion about the style of play at Motherwell.
27:13And he was saying, look, most fans after the semi-final League Cup defeat
27:16to sit there and we'd be going nuts.
27:18But he said, we're all so encouraged by what we're seeing.
27:21And we're all loving this brand of football.
27:23Every week they're turning up and they've been entertained.
27:25I tell you, I can't remember the fans buying into something as much at Fur Park
27:30than they have done under Jens Berthalaska.
27:32Because there used to be half a dozen old guys sat behind the manager's technical area at Fur Park.
27:37And no matter where it was Alec McLeish or whether it was Billy Davis,
27:40or it was Mark McGee or Craig Brown or Stephen Robinson,
27:42or whoever it was, Stuart McCall,
27:44they screamed and shouted, get the ball forward as quick as you can.
27:48So I don't know what they're sitting and thinking watching this
27:50because they do not get the ball forward, but they do it with quality.
27:53So he's convinced the players and he's convinced the fans
27:56and he's convinced the board and they are delivering on results.
27:58Kerry, today he looked like a stroll in the park at times.
28:01Tell me about Elliot's wash, what do you make of him?
28:03Brilliant, smashing player.
28:05I saw him St-Johnson last year and had question marks about him.
28:07I always felt he received the ball facing his own goal.
28:10And the number of times he gave it away,
28:11causing St-Johnson all sorts of problems.
28:13He's still doing it at Motherwell,
28:15however, he's got more options around about him
28:16because they're banning to what he's doing.
28:18The manager wants him to go and receive the ball.
28:19So his linked up play is one touch passing.
28:22Everything is really coming on leaps and bounds.
28:24And I think there's more to come.
28:26Right, let's do the classifieds for you right now.
28:28And then we'll go through the Scottish tables as well.
28:31And don't forget, we'll bring you reaction from managers,
28:33from the pundits and, of course, the fans.
28:36They will join us on BBC Radio Scotland from round about half past five.
28:39So let's then have a look at the Scottish Premiership classified scorelines.
28:44I remember one game will kick off at eight o'clock tonight.
28:46Full coverage right here on BBC Radio Scotland.

30:46Leeds United there at home to Liverpool.
30:49Now,
30:49look at the Scottish tables for you,
30:51just on the other screen in front of me here,
30:52my goodness,
30:53look at Davey Martindale,
30:54guys,
30:54his head is up to the sky,
30:56he looks incredibly frustrated there,
30:59we'll try and bring his post-match reaction to you.
31:01Just a reminder,
31:03we put the story to him,
31:04it's on the BBC website that Tom brought us on VAR,
31:07strong comments on Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack,
31:09and a very strong reaction from Davey Martindale,
31:11he said right now he would scrap VAR,
31:14so more to come on that.
31:16So looking at the premiership table,
31:18Hearts and Celtic,
31:19they play tomorrow at Celtic Park,
31:21they're on 32 points,
31:22albeit Celtic do have a game in hand,
31:25as Steve was saying,
31:25what a season it's been for Motherwell,
31:27third on the table on 26 points,
31:30a good win for Hibs today,
31:31they're on 24,
31:32Rangers down at Rugby Park tonight,
31:34eight o'clock kick-off,
31:35Aberdeen into the top six on goal difference,
31:38they're levelling points,
31:40with Fogkicker on 21 points,
31:42and D&I did a poor run of form for them,
31:44beating in Paisley today,
31:45they're on 16 points,
31:46great win for September,
31:48and what a boost to head of that League Cup final next weekend,
31:50they're on 14 points,
31:51Kelly they played tonight,
31:5312 points,
31:54Dundee a great fight back,
31:55but they just couldn't get the goal to draw them level,
31:57and Aberdeen of course sealed things in grand style,
32:00fantastic finish from Kevin Nisbet right at the death,
32:02they're on 12 points,
32:03it's been a real struggle for Livingston,
32:06bottom of the table on eight points,
32:08and so into the Scottish Championship for you,
32:12let's have a look at the table,
32:13real frustration for St Johnstone and Partick Thistle this afternoon,
32:17they stay top on 35 points,
32:19Saints with a better goal difference,
32:21are both a late comeback for them today,
32:2426 points,
32:25Ayr United,
32:25they make up the playoff spots there in 24,
32:28then Dunferman,
32:29a real sore one for them today,
32:3022 points,
32:31Morton,
32:32a good victory last night,
32:3321,
32:34Wraith Rovers,
32:3520,
32:36Airdrie,
32:36what a result for them today,
32:3814 points,
32:38Queen's Park,
32:3913,
32:40and absolutely,
32:41incredibly,
32:42given the investment up there,
32:43Roch County,
32:44bottom of the table,
32:45they are on 12 points,
32:47into Scottish League One,
32:49then for you,
32:50let's have a look at the table,
32:52Inverness,
32:52Carl Thistle didn't play today,
32:53but they are top of the table,
32:5430 points,
32:55and they played a game fewer than Alloa,
32:57who are on 28,
32:58and Stennis Muir,
32:59who are on 27 points,
33:01Kelty Hearts,
33:02they are bottom of the table on nine points,
33:04just above them,
33:05Cove,
33:05late heartbreak for them today,
33:07losing that goal,
33:09late on,
33:09away at Queen of the South,
33:11and into William Hill League Two this afternoon,
33:15some really significant scorelines,
33:17in terms of the top of the table,
33:18a great win for East Kilbride,
33:20they are on 28 points,
33:21a point clear,
33:22of Spartans,
33:23Clyde are third on the table,
33:25on 23 points,
33:26and as has been the case all season,
33:28a good victory,
33:28for Edinburgh City today,
33:29but they are way bottom of the table,
33:31given that points deduction,
33:33so let's then,
33:34bounce around the grounds,
33:35get a bit more detail,
33:36from our reporters,
33:36who have been out and about,
33:37we'll try and bring you the interviews,
33:38David Martindale,
33:39is still speaking to the media,
33:41there through Firth Park,
33:43I can't tell you how frustrated he looks,
33:45counter to that,
33:46we've got Cian Barry,
33:47down at the bottom,
33:48end of the screen here,
33:49he was fantastic for Hibs today,
33:50could he really stake a claim,
33:53to win that Scotland squad,
33:54for the World Cup finals,
33:56next summer,
33:57let's get back to,
33:58Willie Miller up there,
33:59at Dence Park,
34:00a really important win,
34:01for the Dons,
34:01this afternoon Willie,
34:02absolutely Kenny,
34:03and the fans are really enjoying it,
34:05they've stayed behind,
34:06they've celebrated,
34:07with their team,
34:08as well,
34:09and in the first half,
34:11Aberdeen just dominated,
34:12everything,
34:13and there was a lot of,
34:15slick passing out sheets,
34:17Armstrong in particular,
34:18I mean he just glides,
34:19across the grass,
34:21Carlsen was particularly good,
34:22as well,
34:23and Lazatich led the line,
34:24the line extremely well,
34:26and they did get the breakthrough,
34:28after a good effort,
34:30from Stuart Armstrong,
34:32it was well saved,
34:33it was in 17 minutes,
34:34when Lazatich went right through,
34:36poor defending I felt,
34:37right through the heart,
34:38of the defence,
34:39had the strike,
34:41at McCracken,
34:41it was a decent strike,
34:43it was straight at the goalkeeper,
34:44he should have done better,
34:45in dealing with it,
34:46but he's just parried it out,
34:48you know,
34:49McCracken has parried it out,
34:50for Oshish,
34:51and he doesn't make,
34:52any mistake with it,
34:53as he follows up from midfield,
34:55and slots it,
34:56into the back of the net,
34:57Stuart Armstrong,
34:58had a free kick,
34:59not long after,
35:00a curler from the left hand side,
35:02that rattles the post,
35:03but 30 minutes,
35:04it's Oshish again,
35:05some slick play,
35:06build up play,
35:07brilliant,
35:08a little bit of good fortune,
35:09in the box,
35:09as it fell for the taking,
35:11and Oshish,
35:12was sharp onto it,
35:13and they had to show,
35:14a lot of composure,
35:15a lot of skill,
35:15just to rifle it,
35:16into the roof of the net,
35:17as McCracken went,
35:19to ground,
35:19Loban had a,
35:20a chance,
35:21right after that,
35:22from a corner,
35:23towards the back post,
35:24Logan,
35:25Loban,
35:26he sneaked in,
35:27at the back post,
35:27they had a good strike,
35:28but it was a well saved,
35:29by McCracken,
35:30so,
35:31I've got nothing written down,
35:32in the first half,
35:33as far as,
35:34Dundee,
35:36creating chances,
35:37nothing at all,
35:38you go into the second half,
35:39what a change of,
35:41attitude,
35:42determination,
35:43grit,
35:44play,
35:45good play as well,
35:46skillful play,
35:47good build up play,
35:48and,
35:48they got their,
35:49rewards,
35:50Dundee,
35:50because it dominated,
35:51going down the slope,
35:52and in 60,
35:5460 minutes,
35:54it was,
35:55Ryan Ashley,
35:56that got,
35:57the finishing touch,
35:58Simon Murray,
35:58makes a run,
35:59to the near post,
36:00it goes over his head,
36:01and Ashley's there,
36:02to slot it in,
36:03at that near post,
36:05where there was nobody,
36:06on the near post,
36:06if Aberdeen had a defender,
36:08had a wee chance of,
36:09dealing with it,
36:10it was a great,
36:11Congreve,
36:12whipping the ball in,
36:13difficult one to defend,
36:14and at that,
36:15at that stage,
36:16you're thinking,
36:16well,
36:17you know,
36:17Dundee are going to go on,
36:18and maybe get an equaliser here,
36:19because he totally dominated,
36:21and they did dominate,
36:22throughout the,
36:23the second half,
36:25right up until,
36:26the 90 second minute,
36:27when Kevin Nisbet,
36:28got an opportunity,
36:30that was Stuart Armstrong,
36:30who's been brilliant,
36:31all afternoon,
36:33you're talking about players,
36:34that might have,
36:35World Cup aspirations,
36:36I'll tell you,
36:37and some of the performances,
36:38I've watched him,
36:39he's been outstanding,
36:40and Kevin Nisbet,
36:41been out of form a little bit,
36:42but you can see,
36:43he's coming back to,
36:44what we know he can do,
36:45he gets the opportunity,
36:46a great pass from Armstrong,
36:48he just stops it,
36:49and with outside,
36:50his right foot,
36:51from just outside the box,
36:52he curls it,
36:53into the back of the net,
36:54some composure,
36:56some class,
36:56I would suggest,
36:57giving McCracken,
36:58no chance whatsoever,
36:59he doesn't even move,
37:01the goalkeeper,
37:01it just curls,
37:03it's a huge curl,
37:03can see it from,
37:04the back of the stand here,
37:06nestles into the back of the net,
37:07to give Aberdeen,
37:09a little bit nervous,
37:09in the second half,
37:10but three points in total,
37:12and into the top six,
37:13yeah fantastic,
37:14we can see the pictures,
37:15coming into the studio here,
37:17again,
37:17Aberdeen fans,
37:18travelling in big numbers,
37:19and rewarded,
37:20and you can watch that goal,
37:21from Kevin Nisbet,
37:22on sports,
37:23I've also,
37:24he's a really clever,
37:25technically gifted footballer,
37:26a good victory,
37:27for the Dons there,
37:29at Dens Park,
37:29despite a really good,
37:30fight back you have to say,
37:32from Stephen Presley,
37:33stay tuned,
37:34and we are going to hear,
37:34from Davey Martindale,
37:35just shortly,
37:35first of all,
37:36let's get to the game,
37:37at Easter Road,
37:38Hibs,
37:39great success for them,
37:40Alan Preston,
37:41home to Falkett this afternoon,
37:42yeah very good,
37:43Hibs three,
37:43Falkett now,
37:44thoroughly deserve win,
37:45for the home side,
37:46Kenny,
37:46he took a lead in 36 minutes,
37:47it was a ball played through,
37:49to Martin Boyle,
37:49Lissa seems to catch him,
37:51the referee points to the spot,
37:52Vard confirmed that,
37:53and Boyle stepped up,
37:54smashed the ball,
37:55down the middle for 1-0,
37:56five minutes later,
37:57it was 2-0,
37:57Mulligan,
37:58who was magnificent,
37:59I have to say,
37:59that best player in the park,
38:00by a mile,
38:01played it to Kieran Bowie,
38:02his first touch on his right foot,
38:03set it up to his left,
38:05and he curled it,
38:05giving Scott Bain,
38:06absolutely no chance,
38:07Falkett were really disappointing,
38:09in that opening 45,
38:10John McGlynn,
38:11made a couple of changes,
38:12at half time,
38:12and one of them,
38:13had your man,
38:13roll through Ross,
38:14who scored after 64 minutes,
38:16but after a quick VAR check,
38:17it was a tight offside call,
38:19so the goal was disallowed,
38:20it was 3-0,
38:21Bowie's second in 80,
38:22Sub Campbell,
38:23down the right hand side,
38:24whips it across,
38:25there's Bowie,
38:25making the front post run,
38:27flicking it into the back of the net,
38:29Falkett were decent for 15-20 minutes,
38:31in that second half,
38:32just not enough,
38:33Hibs deserve to win,
38:34final score,
38:35Hibs 3,
38:35Falkett 0.
38:36Yeah,
38:36Hibs were very,
38:37very good today,
38:38so they're fourth on the table,
38:39as we said earlier,
38:40Falkett just dropping out,
38:41on goal difference,
38:42from the top six,
38:43but what a season they are,
38:44having 21 points,
38:45from their opening 16 games,
38:47let's get again,
38:48to another side,
38:49who are having a tremendous season,
38:50Motherwell very comfortable,
38:51this afternoon,
38:52Derek,
38:52home to Livingston.
38:53Yes,
38:54they were indeed Kenny,
38:55finished up Motherwell 3,
38:56Livingston 0,
38:57and I think the build up to the game,
38:58you know,
38:58looking at form,
38:59you know,
39:00this was easily looking like a Motherwell win,
39:02obviously they need to do that on the pitch,
39:03and they've certainly done that today,
39:05they started off really well in the game,
39:06has to do,
39:07move the ball about really well,
39:09but bizarrely,
39:09you know,
39:10I think Livingston sort of,
39:11got the first chance in the game,
39:12Yengi,
39:12they're turning the box,
39:13after 15 minutes,
39:14it was a weak shot,
39:15wide of the goal,
39:16but then on 20 minutes,
39:17Motherwell opened up the scoring,
39:19Charles Cook,
39:20who was a threat all day,
39:21he assisted,
39:22getting the ball back to Elliot Watt,
39:23at the edge of the box,
39:24he took it away nice,
39:25a nice powerful shot,
39:26in the bottom right hand corner,
39:27the rest of the first half,
39:28it was a bit scrappy,
39:29there was a few bookings,
39:31you know,
39:31I think Livingston were putting the foot in a little bit,
39:33trying to just break up the rhythm of Motherwell,
39:35but then going into the second half,
39:37it was a bit more of the same,
39:38you know,
39:38Motherwell coming out,
39:39starting well again,
39:40and then bizarrely again,
39:42a bit like the first half,
39:43you know,
39:43Livingston got a good chance in the 15 minutes,
39:45the best chance he had of the game,
39:47Sosoho,
39:48at the edge of the box,
39:50is a great,
39:50driven right down the middle of the goal,
39:52probably had the ball too sweet,
39:53to be fair,
39:54it was a comfortable save by Ward,
39:56then the deadlock,
39:57got unbroken again,
39:5960 minutes,
40:00Motherwell made it 2-0,
40:02it was down the left hand side,
40:03the full back,
40:05Guter Dumas,
40:06cut inside Smith,
40:08and I think these guys are saying,
40:09it looked a bit harsh,
40:10you know,
40:10it was a good play,
40:11get inside them,
40:12won the penalty,
40:13and the striker number nine,
40:14Stamper put the ball away,
40:15to make it 2-0,
40:17then after that,
40:17it was a raft of substitutions,
40:19by both teams,
40:20Livingston going a bit more direct,
40:22they ended up playing with,
40:23Yenge,
40:23Muirhead,
40:24and Mokeela up front,
40:25so the three big guys up front,
40:27but Motherwell were quite comfortable,
40:28they were taking their time,
40:29they were picking them off,
40:30they were quality,
40:31and that's what happened,
40:32they literally picked,
40:33they picked Motherwell,
40:34Livingston off,
40:35as we got into the 88th minute,
40:38they broke down the left hand side,
40:39and it was that guy again,
40:40Charles Cook,
40:41played a lovely ball in,
40:42Ilungiello,
40:43to make it 3-0,
40:44and to be fair,
40:45if it had been 4-5,
40:46it wouldn't have flattered Motherwell,
40:48they're a really,
40:48really top side,
40:49I don't think any teams,
40:51will relish coming here,
40:52that's for sure,
40:53it'll be a feared place,
40:55on the flip side,
40:56Livingston have got a lot to think about,
40:57I think Martindale,
40:58he's trying to find a formula,
41:00the big thing for me,
41:01is they just don't look as if,
41:02they've got a lot of goals in their team,
41:04which is a real,
41:04real problem,
41:05but yeah,
41:05as we thought today,
41:06it was going to be a Motherwell win,
41:07that's the way it's played out,
41:083-0 Motherwell.
41:09Thanks to Derek Lillie,
41:10very,
41:10very good from the home side there,
41:12as Derek said,
41:12real concerns for the living manager,
41:14Davey Martindale,
41:15he's been speaking,
41:16with Martin Dowden.
41:17I don't think it was much in the game,
41:20in the first half,
41:21a couple of counters for them,
41:22we've got to do better,
41:23with a couple of other opportunities,
41:24in the first half,
41:25we lose a goal,
41:26it's a good goal,
41:27for the edge of the box,
41:27but we shouldn't have turned my back on it,
41:29we should go and,
41:30two of you come out,
41:31and kind of spin my back,
41:32and I don't know if it takes,
41:33a wee deflection,
41:35but really that was it,
41:36we shot ourselves in the first half,
41:38we were playing two on the arrow,
41:39we never kind of adjusted,
41:40we were on the ball,
41:42and off the ball shape,
41:43had to be a wee bit better,
41:44hit us with a couple of counters,
41:48the game was a wee bit stretched,
41:50but that's what they do,
41:50we know that,
41:51second half,
41:53I don't think there's a lot in the game,
41:55and then we give away a penalty,
41:58I've not had a chance to look at it back,
42:00I'm not really interested in that,
42:01to be honest,
42:02I'm not going to sit here,
42:03I told you that weeks ago,
42:04I'm not going to start talking about Varo all the time,
42:06because it's ruining the game bit,
42:08so anyway,
42:08we lose the penalty,
42:10and then the game becomes difficult,
42:11we kind of roll the dice,
42:13we go two up top,
42:14and we know we're going two up top,
42:15it's going to leave us a wee bit exposed,
42:17in the wide areas,
42:18and then the game becomes really transitional,
42:21we have a couple of good entries,
42:22good chances ourselves,
42:23I think it,
42:24I can't remember if it was 2-0,
42:26or 1-0,
42:26so so so short for the edge,
42:28Ward comes up with a big save,
42:30so overall,
42:30I don't think,
42:32the game,
42:33I don't,
42:34we had opportunities in the game ourselves,
42:37to make better ever,
42:38kind of entries into the final third,
42:40we don't capitalise on that,
42:42they did,
42:43but I think we got better,
42:43we'd be a better team,
42:44I think Motherwell's a better team,
42:46but I'll sit and tell you now,
42:47I think Motherwell will probably top four,
42:49and that's not an excuse for us guys,
42:51because we've got our own aspirations,
42:53but I think they're a really,
42:54really good team,
42:54really,
42:55really well drilled,
42:55playing with a lot of confidence,
42:57and I'd be surprised,
42:58surprised if they don't make the top four.
43:00Yeah,
43:01very fair assessment from Davey Martindale there,
43:03Motherwell very good this afternoon,
43:05as were the home side,
43:06and Paisley and McCall.
43:08They were Kenny,
43:09I mean they started the game,
43:10I mean they won 2-0,
43:11obviously the week before they played in a cup final,
43:13but in the first half they were,
43:14they were absolutely terrific,
43:16and Dundee United had no answer to them,
43:18really.
43:19They scored a great goal in the first half,
43:21after 16 minutes,
43:22a great cross,
43:23from Declan John,
43:24which was a feature throughout the game,
43:26and a good header at the back post,
43:28from a menem,
43:28and second half,
43:29Jim Goodwin changed it a little bit,
43:31went to 3-4-3,
43:32his usual formation,
43:34and brought on Fata,
43:35and took off Seville,
43:36and in the sixth,
43:37fourth minute,
43:38Sapsford rattled a free kick off the bar,
43:40a minute later,
43:41St Mirren went up the park,
43:43and a Phillips header,
43:44maybe the goalkeeper should have done better,
43:47Dave Richards,
43:47but Bacchus got his first goal,
43:49from the rebound,
43:50and he's returned to St Mirren.
43:53Five minutes later,
43:54Sibyl crashed one off the bar again,
43:56for Dundee United,
43:57but in truth,
43:57in the closing stages,
43:59St Mirren could have scored,
44:00Bacchus had a chance,
44:01Richardson had a chance,
44:02and Mooney had a chance,
44:03in the last four or five minutes.
44:04Great preparation for the cup final,
44:06it finished here,
44:07Motherwell 2,
44:08not Motherwell,
44:08sorry,
44:09St Mirren 2,
44:10Dundee United 0.
44:10Thank you to Ian McCall,
44:11so in the top flight,
44:12Dundee 1,
44:13Aberdeen 3,
44:13Hibs 3,
44:14Falkirk 0,
44:15Motherwell 3,
44:15Livingston 0,
44:16and St Mirren 2,
44:17Dundee United 0,
44:188 o'clock start,
44:19full commentary to come,
44:20Kilmarnock are at home,
44:22two Rangers,
44:22just very briefly,
44:23Tom Ingers,
44:24so much chat on the programme today,
44:25so much excitement,
44:26around the World Cup draw,
44:28you've been very positive about it,
44:29we're now just waiting for details,
44:30on where we'll actually be playing our games.
44:32Yeah,
44:32that's right,
44:33and we're watching it here,
44:35as it's coming in,
44:36and just a lovely big preamble,
44:39Kenny,
44:41we're watching Lallis,
44:43remember Lallis?
44:44Oh yes.
44:45Alexey Lallis,
44:45we're watching him at the moment,
44:47he's still Strachkov,
44:49who's that now,
44:50we're watching basically everybody,
44:51who's scored a goal in a World Cup match,
44:53ever,
44:54Del Piero,
44:55Francesco Tocchi,
44:55That called dragging it out,
44:56dragging it out,
44:58here we go,
44:59there's the original Ronaldo,
45:01so yeah,
45:01I mean it's,
45:02they are milking it for all it is worth,
45:05we don't know anything yet,
45:06we don't know where Scotland are going to be played,
45:08we know the parameters of Boston,
45:10Right,
45:11New York,
45:11Do you know what is missing?
45:12What is missing?
45:13Rio Ferdinand.
45:14Right,
45:14so that's been it for another really big day of Scottish football,
45:19the conversation will continue on Radio Scotland,
45:21reaction from managers,
45:22from pundits,
45:23and from fans,
45:24full conversation,
45:25big game at Rugby Park tonight,
45:27come on,
45:28I got home to Rangers,
45:29so thank you for all of you for joining us on TV,
45:31we'll see you again soon.
45:32So,
45:33you,
45:33so,
45:33so,
