00:12Open All makes a busy afternoon of Scottish Cup fourth round action.
00:17The goals have been going in up and down the country.
00:20We've got reporters around the grounds and let's head to Tanadice
00:24and Dundee United versus Air United.
00:27Alan Preston, what's the latest there?
00:29Goals up and down the country but unfortunately none here at Tanadice.
00:32It's nil, nil and that's probably about right.
00:35There's not been that many chances.
00:37Dundee United have made four changes in the second half to try and win this game.
00:41Air United is very much in it but still nil, nil here at Tanadice.
00:46We have had goals at Rugby Park.
00:49Rory Loy is watching Kilmarnock versus Dundee.
00:52Rory, what's the latest?
00:53The latest is one apiece.
00:55Dundee have just equalised through Ashley Hay.
00:57However I'll talk you through the opener first.
00:59It came on 11 minutes and it was David Watson who pinged a corner out
01:03which was a well worked corner.
01:05Dominic Thompson arrived late on the edge of the box
01:07and hit an absolute perler with his left foot in off one post,
01:10clipped the other and into the back of the net for one nil.
01:13Dundee had several chances throughout that first half.
01:15After that, Ashley Hay had a couple, as did Yogan.
01:19But they couldn't capitalise on them and it remained one nil until the second half
01:24where Ashley Hay has just smacked one in from about eight or nine yards out.
01:27Flew past Kelroos, he had no chance and that's why it's currently
01:31come on at one, Dundee won.
01:33Well, two teams who could really be doing with a victory this afternoon,
01:36Livingston and St Mirren are in action at Almond Vale
01:39and Cech Young can bring us the latest.
01:41Yeah, there's just been a standing ovation, a round of thunderous applause,
01:44but not for a goal.
01:45It's because Scott Arfield who made his goal-scoring debut for Livingston this afternoon
01:51has just been subbed.
01:52Stevie May has come on to replace him as Livingston try and get ahead in this game.
01:57It is 1-1.
01:58Remember, the goals came in the first half early on.
02:01Of course, rolling the duo early on in the game, three minutes of the clock
02:05and just a tap in from great work down the right side by Richardson.
02:08And then that man himself, Scott Arfield, with the equaliser after just 11 minutes.
02:13All the action early on and the game has basically gone to sleep in the wake of all that.
02:18There's a lot of huffing and puffing from St Mirren.
02:20Look, a weary side now.
02:21Change is beginning to me, as I said.
02:23Arfield has come on.
02:24Stevie Robinson has only made one so far.
02:26Lundoulou came on to replace Ocean Smith.
02:31Another chance for Livingston there just over the crossbar.
02:33It remains 1-1.
02:35Motherwell are up against Ross County at Fir Park.
02:38Ian McCall is watching this one.
02:40Yeah, and it's Motherwell 1-1, Ross County 0.
02:42It was a very nondescript first half.
02:45Ross County very well organised.
02:47There was one chance.
02:48Maswanese, 1-1, beat Carson up in the Ross County goal really well.
02:53But Yakovete, fantastic clearance.
02:55They made a couple of changes.
02:57Fadiger and Jus came on for Motherwell after about 55 minutes.
03:01Whether they're regulars, I don't know.
03:04They seem to have about 18 regulars.
03:07But anyway, five minutes after that, they got their goal.
03:11It was a slattery strike from about 20 yards.
03:14Maswanese, I think he meant it.
03:16I think he meant to deflect it past Trevor Carson.
03:19Trevor Carson had no chance.
03:20There's been a few subs since then.
03:22But Motherwell, I'd hate to see what the possession stat is.
03:25It must be over 70%.
03:27They seem to be cruising.
03:28But while it's 1-0, you never know.
03:30So at Fir Park, Motherwell 1-0, Ross County 0.
03:32Well, from Fir Park to Fir Hill, Partick Thistle up against Montrose.
03:36And Chris Doolan can bring us the latest.
03:38And it's Partick Thistle 2, Montrose 0, Andy.
03:41And Tony Watt has been the difference so far in the game so far.
03:45He's been terrific.
03:46He's scored in both halves.
03:48First half, he gets a free header inside the six-yard box.
03:51After brilliant work from Patrick Redding down the left-hand side,
03:54he clipped a fantastic ball in.
03:56And the box was very busy,
03:57and Tony Watt managed to make some space for himself.
03:59Headers down well into the ground
04:01and gets them 1-0 up.
04:03Second half, they've started really well again.
04:0547 minutes.
04:06Tony Watt again inside the six-yard box from a corner.
04:09Logan Chalmers whipped in a fantastic out swinging corner
04:12and it lands six yards out.
04:14You know, there's no Montrose players anywhere to be seen.
04:17And Tony Watt casually just knocks the ball into the back of the net
04:20to make it 2-0.
04:21Just in the last couple of minutes,
04:23Chalmers has actually just been sent off for Thistle
04:26for chasing back and making a last-ditch tackle.
04:29So the game is now on the balance a little bit.
04:32It looks like Thistle are going to change to a back three
04:34and try and show things up if they can get their subs on.
04:37But 2-0 just now.
04:38But Montrose now with the greater amount of players on the pitch
04:42and we can see if Thistle can see it out.
04:44Andy, it should have been a goal for Livy.
04:46Wonderful move down the right-hand side.
04:48And Stevie May, who's the sub, put through.
04:50He's onto it.
04:51He's 1-1 with the goalkeeper.
04:52But Jamal George just stretches himself out,
04:55gets a leg in it and puts a pass for a corner kick,
04:58which has been taken as come to nothing at the moment.
05:01So a real chance for Livy to go ahead remains 1-1.
05:03Well, Tom English and Tony Doherty are alongside me in the studio.
05:07Tony, that game we spoke pre-match how much riding on at Livingston,
05:11St Mirren, they're locked.
05:13They're locked.
05:14It's tight as we probably thought it would.
05:16And it looks like it might get a bit nervy towards the end there.
05:19I think all the games we've now, at this stage,
05:21we've got five games that are level at the moment
05:24and get into the last 12 minutes.
05:26A cup tie, that's the most important time.
05:28And I think you'll see the tempo of all the games going up,
05:30making sure, as I say, when you're in cup competition,
05:33you're either in or you're out.
05:34And these teams, the ten teams that are involved in those ties,
05:37I've got 12 minutes to make sure they're still in the cup.
05:39And watching the Livingston-St Mirren game coming in at the moment,
05:42it looks like, you know, it's all or nothing now.
05:45You need to go for it.
05:46You need to make sure you get yourself in the heart for the next round.
05:49And the next ten minutes will be good.
05:51Yeah, and it's a big ten minutes or so, Tom,
05:53not only in the course of this cup tie,
05:55but for both Livy and St Mirren.
05:57Two teams are desperate for a win right now.
05:59They meet again in the league on Tuesday.
06:01I mean, there is a lot riding on this.
06:03Yeah, and it's entirely kind of fitting in the way they've been going,
06:06that they're drawing.
06:07Because neither of them can win a game of late.
06:10And certainly if Livy goes back a lot longer than that,
06:1320 games without a win,
06:15they're going to have to be a winner at some stage.
06:17But if this tie goes to penalties,
06:20it's not the surprise of the season, is it?
06:22No, not at all.
06:24Well, Cameland Juniors have been one of the stories of the Scottish Cup so far.
06:28The East of Scotland Premier Division side,
06:30but their journey looks like it's going to be coming to an end.
06:33A Williamson own goal means they currently trail Elgin City by three goals to one elsewhere.
06:40Airdrionians are 2-1 up against our Broath.
06:44What a result that would be.
06:45We heard from Alan Preston.
06:48Dundee United, 0-0.
06:49Air United, 0-0.
06:50Kelty Hearts, 1-1.
06:51Cove Rangers, 1-1.
06:53Kilmarnock, 1-1.
06:55Dundee, 1-1.
06:56Livingstone, 1-1.
06:57St Mirren, 1-1.
06:58Motherwell, 1-1.
06:59Ross County, 0-0.
07:00Partick Thistle, 2.
07:01Montrose, 0.
07:02Spartans, 0.
07:03Inverness, 0.
07:04Stenhouse, Muir, 3.
07:06Greenock Morton, 0.
07:08And in League One, Peterhead, 1.
07:10Hamilton, Ackies, 2.
07:12And in League Two, Sterling Albion, 0.
07:14East Kilbride, 2.
07:15All those games with around 10 minutes or so left to run.
07:20And Motherwell got their goal, Tony.
07:25And we think in this season of all seasons, this bonkers Scottish football season,
07:31you could put money on just about anyone winning the Scottish Cup.
07:34But Motherwell would be a team you would be looking at if they can get through this.
07:37Yeah, I think they'll be looking to progress.
07:39And I think a lot of the bigger teams will be looking at what happened today with Hibbs.
07:42You know, that's one of the potential teams that could go the full way.
07:45So that gives extra motivation.
07:46So if they were to get through this tie, Motherwell, yeah,
07:49would certainly set them up for that next round.
07:52Yeah, well, the big shock of the day came first up in the day, Tom, didn't it?
07:56Amazing.
07:57The Firmland Athletic, 1-0 winners against Hibernian.
07:59What a day for Neil Lennon and his team.
08:02Amiguel Chaiwa, own goal, two minutes into stoppage time,
08:05prompted scenes of unbridled joy at East End Park,
08:09at least amongst the home end, but what a day for the Pars.
08:12Incredible day for them, incredible day for Neil Lennon.
08:15We spoke earlier about the awful loss of his father recently.
08:21He's now at this incredible high.
08:23I'm sure he will dedicate this to his father.
08:25He was a massive influence on his football career and his life.
08:28And Neil Lennon, he was obviously overjoyed at the end.
08:31They were in that game.
08:33This wasn't the smash and grab.
08:34This was 50-50.
08:35This was nip and tuck the whole way through.
08:37And Kieran Bowie had a great chance, missed it.
08:40The goal was a messy affair, but it doesn't matter.
08:44And they're through.
08:45And it's just a momentous day for them, really.
08:47Goal!
08:48Dundee United have scored, and it's the substitute.
08:51Moller.
08:52Good play on the right-hand side by Stray.
08:54And he gets to the byline.
08:55He's strong.
08:56Knocks it across.
08:57And there's Moller.
08:58One of the changes from Jim Goodwin,
09:00from about four or five yards out.
09:01Side foot into the back of the net.
09:03Dundee United, 1-0.
09:05Yes, Dundee United hit the front.
09:07It's not been a chance-laden game,
09:10but Dundee United getting themselves in front.
09:13Jim Goodwin's changes, as Alan made,
09:15starting to make an impact.
09:17And that is a big goal for them, Tom.
09:20It is, yeah.
09:21I mean, air were my tip.
09:22If I was trying to find an upset,
09:26that was the one that I'd picked out.
09:28They've been holding out for a long time.
09:30I know it's been heavy traffic for Dundee United.
09:34Dundee United, they've been a peppering air's goal,
09:37but they've certainly been dominating possession.
09:39And they deserve that goal.
09:41Fairness to them.
09:42Just to be clear,
09:43my tip, Tom, was Stenichmuir the day.
09:46Yeah, but is that an upset, really, Tony?
09:49Nah.
09:50Is that a kind of soft way out?
09:52Possibly.
09:53Possibly.
09:54I was going to ask Biscuits,
09:55how's the...
09:56I said a good finish by the boy Miller,
09:57but how's the impact?
09:58I like Sturton.
09:59I think he's a really good young Scottish striker.
10:01He has.
10:02He's a big lad as well.
10:03Yeah, any time I've seen him,
10:04you know, he did fantastically well on loan at Montrose,
10:06but any time I've seen him,
10:07you know, I'm really, really impressed with him.
10:09And I see Jim bringing on those four subs.
10:11Has he made that impact?
10:12And does he play well with the boy Miller?
10:14Yeah, he does, certainly.
10:15You know, I think he's got a good partnership.
10:17Miller is a big lad that
10:19certainly looks like the mobile one out of the two of them.
10:21Looks as if he can shift.
10:23Well, that was a really good card here.
10:25And it's for Kilmarnock and it's for Jack Thompson.
10:28And once again, it's Ugani who takes the ball in really well.
10:32He turns Lewis Mayo and Jack Thompson decides to bring him down,
10:35which is silly on a yellow card.
10:36It was needless.
10:37Ugani did well, but he wasn't really going anywhere.
10:39And Kilmarnock pay the price.
10:41And they're down to 10 men with 10 minutes left
10:43as it hangs in the balance at one apiece.
10:45Yeah, it hangs in the balance.
10:47And Tom, Neil McConnell of his head in his hands,
10:49that is a big blow.
10:51They've been under the cosh.
10:52They've weathered the storm pretty well,
10:54but Dundee got the equaliser they deserved.
10:56And now Kilmarnock are going to have to hold on with 10 men.
10:58I mean, the way Rory's been describing it,
11:00and we can see it in pictures here.
11:02Dundee have really deserved to be leveled.
11:05They've been piling the pressure on.
11:07Now Kilmarnock have caved with this second yellow card.
11:11And all the momentum, all the momentum has been with Dundee, Rory,
11:14from a long time, right?
11:16Yeah, the one thing I would say is the rare occasion
11:18that Kilmarnock do go forward.
11:20They've had opportunities to score
11:22and they've forced a couple of saves.
11:24You can't say the same about Dundee.
11:26Whilst they've had incessant pressure
11:27for large periods of the match,
11:29you know, they've not created chance after chance.
11:31So Kilmarnock do look dangerous on the counter,
11:33but just as you were saying, Tom,
11:35the main control in the game has been dominated by Dundee
11:38and they deserve to be level.
11:40And it wouldn't surprise me if they go on to win it now.
11:43Tony the tipster, Daugherty, Stenhouse-Muir,
11:47four, Greenock-Morton, nil.
11:49What a shout that was.
11:50It is a good shout.
11:51That fiver, I'll take that fiver, Tom.
11:53Yeah, well deserved.
11:55Chris Doolin.
11:56Last wee ditch of the game, they're throwing a ball into the box.
11:59Clark, in goals for Thistle, comes for it.
12:02He maybe comes seven, eight yards out.
12:04He's probably always second best to get there.
12:07I think the Thistle players think he's possibly been...
12:12I'm looking at him thinking he's maybe been, you know, jumped into it.
12:14I don't think it was.
12:16It lands, I think it's,
12:18Loudon, ten yards out,
12:20and he just fires it into the empty net.
12:222-1 with ten men for Partick Thistle for the last few minutes.
12:25Yeah, a wee bit nervy at Fir Hill now.
12:28And how are things at Fir Park?
12:31Ian McCall, Motherwell, leading by a goal to nil.
12:34Are they looking comfortable?
12:36Well, they were.
12:37I didn't want to interrupt duels in full flow there,
12:40but they've just had...
12:42Matty Connolly's just put his...
12:44He's not had a lot to do.
12:45Great with the ball at his feet,
12:46but he's just had to make a terrific save
12:48from the sub, Kieran Phillips, for Ross County,
12:50who's had a strike from inside the box.
12:52I'm right in line,
12:53and it looks like it's going right in the top corner.
12:55They've got a corner now,
12:56and Matty Connolly got across
12:58and just got a touch to it,
12:59so that's been their chance to get back into the game.
13:01Motherwell have been totally dominant in the second half,
13:03but that was a chance to get it to level terms.
13:07Still 1-0 to the home side.
13:09I think the big thing for Motherwell in January,
13:12Tony, is just keeping hold of their players
13:14because Jensbert Alasko is building something
13:16really special here.
13:17You want to keep those key guys
13:19to the summer, at least.
13:20Sometimes that's what a January window's all about,
13:22just coming through unscathed,
13:23particularly when the team's in good form.
13:25And yeah, I think Sophie manages to hold on
13:27to the talented players that he's got,
13:29and I think he'll be a happy man.
13:31Airdrie to Arbroath too.
13:34What a game that is.
13:35Airdrie were leading 1-0,
13:38and then 2-1,
13:39but Arbroath have scored through Biedling
13:41on the 84th minute,
13:43so they have managed to rescue themselves.
13:45It would seem,
13:47Kelty Hearts 1-0 with Cove Rangers.
13:50Spartans still 0-0 with Inverness.
13:52Callie Thistle,
13:53Stenhouse Muir 4-0 against Greenup.
13:55Morton, was there a chance there?
13:57Yeah, it's Charlie Riley.
13:58It's the second time he's done it in a matter of minutes.
13:59This one came closer.
14:00It was a diving block by Dominic Thompson.
14:03He's cut inside.
14:04What Dundee?
14:05The problem that Kilmarnock have got is
14:06Dundee have used the wood to the pitch all day long
14:09really, really well,
14:10but if you're down to ten men
14:11and you're having to cover the wider areas,
14:13Dundee has stretched the game really well,
14:15and that's even more difficult to defend against
14:17when you're down to ten men.
14:19Oh, it's a chance.
14:20It's cleared.
14:21Bruce Anderson's coming on for Kilmarnock,
14:23which is a bit of a...
14:24It's not a substitution you would expect to see.
14:25One each down to ten men,
14:27bringing a striker on,
14:28but he's going to do it,
14:29so it'll be interesting to see what he does,
14:30and Simon Murray looks like he's stripped
14:31and ready to come on as well.
14:32So, still one each, but Dundee,
14:34all the ball,
14:35all the opportunities in the last five, six minutes.
14:37We spoke about how big a last ten minutes it is in Almondville.
14:41It's no less huge for Kilmarnock,
14:43given the way they're going this season, Tom.
14:45It's enormous.
14:46I mean, Kilmarnock are having an atrocious season.
14:50They replaced the management team.
14:52They're going to be,
14:56till the end,
14:57they're going to be in a grim battle against the drop,
14:59right?
15:00They know that.
15:01Their respite is the Scottish Cup.
15:03And they need to make the most of it.
15:05You know?
15:06And this is...
15:07I mean, these last few minutes...
15:09Oof, there's a chance there.
15:10Last few minutes.
15:11They're vital to add a bit of glamour,
15:13potential glamour,
15:14to what is going to be a grisly battle against the drop.
15:17That's a claim.
15:18It's a man claiming for a penalty kick here.
15:20It's an unbelievable situation.
15:23Big, eh...
15:25It's Lindoulou who's through,
15:27and he's held back for the goalkeeper.
15:29The ball agonisingly looks as if it's going to go in the corner.
15:32Runs past the post.
15:33It's a man claiming for a penalty.
15:35It's the far end of the ground.
15:37I'm not...
15:38I want to be totally neutral in this situation,
15:40but I think it should have been a penalty.
15:42You climbing for the penalty.
15:43Montrose down to ten men as well here, Andy.
15:45Now, ten apiece.
15:47Terry Masson came on as a sub.
15:49He's had two yellow cards,
15:51and he's back off for a tackle on Stanway.
15:54So both teams down to ten men for the last,
15:56whatever it would be,
15:57minute or two of this added time.
15:59One game in League One.
16:00Peter Head have levelled things up against Hamilton.
16:03Aki's two all there,
16:05and in League Two,
16:07Isco Bride leading Sterling Albion
16:09by two goals to one in the closing stages.
16:12And that one,
16:14Alan Preston, Dundee United did get their goal.
16:17Are they looking good to close that one out against Air United?
16:19All credit to Air.
16:20They've brought on strikers,
16:21Scott Brown,
16:22and they're pushing forward.
16:23They've just had their corner cleared.
16:25They're backing Dundee United into their own 18-yard box.
16:28They're throwing everything they can at it.
16:30It's been a very tight game.
16:31It's been a really good finish by Moller for the goal,
16:34but that's been very, very close here.
16:36The United have played well.
16:37They've defended well,
16:38had a really good shape about them,
16:39worked hard.
16:40Scott Brown can't fault his side,
16:42but that bit of class from Moller is a difference
16:44with a few minutes to go.
16:45And Chick Young,
16:47an immediate impact at Livingston for Scott Arfield,
16:50notching that equaliser earlier.
16:52Yeah.
16:53It was, you know,
16:54it kind of evaporated from the game in the wake of that,
16:56but it was early on,
16:57it was,
16:58we thought we were off to a flyer,
16:59thought we were a cracker of a football match.
17:01Remember Saints ahead after three minutes,
17:03a duo,
17:04and then Scott Arfield just eight minutes later,
17:06making it 1-1.
17:07I thought this is going to be a cracker,
17:08but it's,
17:09it's fainted a bit as a football match.
17:11I have to say,
17:12in these last few minutes,
17:13I'm beginning to up the tempo a little bit.
17:15They've created a couple of opportunities.
17:17There was that penalty claim,
17:18the ball just trickled past the post,
17:20and now they're trying to get a bit of impetus into the game.
17:23They've now got a free kick, actually,
17:24which will load the area as we push towards the final few minutes.
17:27Still 1-1,
17:28and as I said a long time ago, Andy,
17:30this has got the feeling of extra time and penalties all over it.
17:34And you know what will happen?
17:35You know what will happen, of course?
17:37It will go into extra time,
17:38somebody will score in the first minute.
17:40It is amazing how often that happens, isn't it?
17:43Well, I hope for your sake, Jake, that it does.
17:46Because, I mean, you know,
17:47you want to get down the road early.
17:49Oh, you know, it's my time of life,
17:51it's a bit late.
17:53I know the electric blankets on the timer.
17:57Absolutely.
17:58Well, we are heading towards the closing stages
18:01in the 3 o'clock kick-offs,
18:03but we are looking like we might be heading for extra time.
18:07Certainly at Rugby Park,
18:08Rory Loy, Comarnet 1, Dundee 1,
18:11Kelly down to 10 men.
18:12Any sense of Dundee finding that winner
18:15that perhaps their play has deserved?
18:17Yeah, I wouldn't rule it out.
18:18That's for sure.
18:19They've now win.
18:20Oh, Partick Dissalande.
18:22On you go, Chris.
18:233-1, Rico Diak.
18:25Young lad just came on 5-10 minutes ago.
18:27He's a big, powerful striker.
18:29He's 6'1".
18:30He's mobile.
18:31And as much as Montrose get back into the game,
18:34they have to commit bodies forward
18:36and they've thrown everything forward.
18:38And then on the counter side of that,
18:39Turner picks up the ball,
18:41slides in Rico Diak,
18:42and he runs a good 35-40 yards
18:44and knocks it low in at the near post.
18:46A fantastic finish with his right foot.
18:483-1, Partick Thistle.
18:49So the Shocks have done Firmland and Steny.
18:52Is that it?
18:53Yeah.
18:54At the moment.
18:55At the moment, yeah.
18:56Can I just say how lovely it has been today without VAR?
19:00No endless minutes analysing lines or handballs.
19:07Just football.
19:08Just football.
19:09That is refreshing.
19:10No way.
19:11That is refreshing.
19:12Yeah, you see that.
19:13And also the whole thing about the cup ties.
19:15You see the bravery of the managers at the moment.
19:17The amount of managers that are just throwing on strikers.
19:19There's Bruce Anderson going on for Kilmarnock.
19:20Simon Murray going on, taking the armband for Dundee.
19:23So that, yeah, you're right, Tom, saying that.
19:25VAR and...
19:26Steven Presley.
19:27He's went 4-4-2.
19:28He was having...
19:29I wondered when...
19:30I expected to see Hay come off, but he brought Murray on and I thought,
19:32is he going to play him right at the three?
19:33I wouldn't have thought so.
19:34So he's went 4-4-2.
19:35And they're having a right go now.
19:37Two wider players are going, holding their width.
19:40Charlie Riley on one side.
19:41Full time in for Park.
19:42Motherwell one, Ross County nil.
19:44Full time in for Hill.
19:45Partick Thistle three, Montrose one.
19:47So both teams are going for it, but Dundee are now set up in a 4-4-2.
19:50But they've got all the ball, all the control.
19:51It's just whether they can find a winner.
19:53Yeah.
19:54And brave as it goes back to that, you're either in the cup or you're out of the cup.
19:57So go and be brave.
19:59So Motherwell booked their place in the fifth round.
20:01A 1-0 victory over Ross County.
20:04We'll get Ian McColl's full time report shortly.
20:07And Partick Thistle, slight scare at the end there,
20:10but they got that third goal to ease the nerves.
20:13And they booked their place in the fifth round.
20:15Also, they had a very good run in the League Cup, did Partick Thistle.
20:18Got to the quarter finals and then were beaten by Celtic.
20:21But a very good run.
20:22They're going along nicely in the championship.
20:24Second in the table under Mark Wilson.
20:26And now into the fifth round of the Scottish Cup.
20:30Still plenty of games ongoing.
20:33We just heard from Rory about Comarnock and Dundee.
20:36And I wonder, Rory, what you've seen in terms of the evolution.
20:39United could finish it here.
20:41And they have done there in the next round.
20:43That's a brilliant finish.
20:44Fatah to Trapanovski.
20:46Back to Fatah.
20:47And it's side foot into the back of the net.
20:50This game's now done.
20:51Dundee United 2, Air United 0.
20:52Brilliant finish.
20:53Dundee United have been made to work for it,
20:56but they too will be in the fifth round draw tomorrow,
20:59which will take place after tomorrow's final.
21:01Kamara scored the goal then.
21:03Sorry, it's Kamara.
21:04Kamara with a second for Jim Goodwin's side.
21:08So 2-0 Dundee United over Air United at Tanadice.
21:12That one is just about finished,
21:14but Dundee United, that should kill off that.
21:17Great finish there.
21:18Very nice.
21:19First thing finish.
21:20Tom's career as a tipster, that one.
21:22Well, it never really started.
21:23Let's be honest, Tony.
21:24I mean, yes,
21:26Berkey could tell you all about my hapless tipping days.
21:29Yeah, he's the prophet of doom.
21:32If he backed your team, then forget all about it.
21:35But no, just for anyone that missed that,
21:37Tom did back Air United today.
21:39Dundee have scored.
21:40It's a disaster for Kilmarnock.
21:42Oh, wow.
21:43Riley pings one up in the air.
21:45It's got snow on it.
21:46It's coming down.
21:47Kel Roos has got to claim it.
21:49The defender jumps with Kel Roos.
21:50It's Robbie Dees.
21:51They experienced Robbie Dees.
21:52They clatter into each other,
21:54and it drops to a Dundee player,
21:56and he pops it in the back of the net.
21:58You'll need to help me out who it was.
22:00I so want to see a replay of that.
22:02Oh, it was an absolute disaster,
22:04because Riley is cursing himself for the quality of the cross,
22:08and it falls down,
22:09and Roos batters in to Dees.
22:12No communication at all.
22:13And it's a goal.
22:15Oh, that's such a gift.
22:18Oh, my goodness me.
22:19You're not wrong, Tom.
22:20What is going on there?
22:22Yeah.
22:23Tony, talk us through that.
22:24Was it Dray Wright that popped in?
22:25Dray Wright scores the goal,
22:26but it looks like Kel Roos is coming out,
22:28whether he's put his name on it,
22:30but it looks a comfortable take for the goalkeeper,
22:32and there's no communication between him and Robbie Dees,
22:34and it just lands to Dray Wright,
22:37and he manages to put it in.
22:38That's it.
22:39We're heading to extra time,
22:40and it's the Almond Vale.
22:41It's finished 1-1.
22:42Twixt the big standard set up.
22:45Imagine, I mean,
22:46I know it's still a few minutes to play.
22:47Imagine going out of the cup on that.
22:49Nah.
22:50To be honest, Tom,
22:51I do agree with you,
22:53Dundee deserve to go through the amount of things we've missed,
22:56but looking back,
22:57give yourself a chance,
22:58you know what I mean?
22:59That is...
23:00I mean, that's a present.
23:01A total gift.
23:02Shocking.
23:03Tony Dock,
23:04that is the kind of thing that must drive a manager crazy.
23:07There's nothing you can do about that.
23:09You know, it's down to on-pitch decision-making,
23:11and I don't know.
23:12It's obviously a communication thing between Roos.
23:14Maybe because he's just new in the door.
23:15I don't know.
23:16Maybe making excuses,
23:17but between him and Robbie Dees,
23:18they've got to see that off.
23:19Yeah,
23:20and goalkeeping has been a problem this season for Kilmarnock,
23:23Rory.
23:24Obviously, injuries have played their part in that,
23:26but they've chopped and changed a wee bit,
23:28and that's not a great start for the new man, is it?
23:30Well, it might make up for it here, Roos,
23:32because Kilmarnock have got a corner,
23:33and he's in the mix-up,
23:34he's in the box,
23:35and he's a big lad,
23:36so we'll see what Dominic Thompson can do in terms of his delivery.
23:39It's too high.
23:40I think it goes to the back post,
23:41comes back across and towards Roos.
23:43Oh, they've cleared it.
23:44Simon Murray could outdo Mackenzie for pace here.
23:47He makes the right decision.
23:48Oh, he's played it to Yandanda,
23:51and I think, oh, he's been brought down.
23:53So it's a foul,
23:54and it looks like it could be a straight red card.
23:58Yeah.
23:59Lewis Mayo.
24:00So they're down to nine men, Kilmarnock now.
24:03Nine men after Roos gets caught up.
24:05Roos gets caught up the pitch.
24:06Lewis Mayo drags him down.
24:08Yandanda.
24:09They're down to nine.
24:10Disaster.
24:112-1 Dundee,
24:12and it looks like it's going to finish that way.
24:14And a couple of minutes of utter madness.
24:17This is what I said to you,
24:18in the last 10 minutes of cup competition,
24:20this is when people are brave,
24:22people make mistakes,
24:23and that's exactly what you're seeing here.
24:24Seems like Kilmarnock have almost imploded in this situation.
24:27I don't know if he gave him a straight red though,
24:29because it was difficult to see whether he flashed the yellow first
24:32and the red,
24:33but it's a very, very harsh straight red card.
24:35I don't think Dandat,
24:36although there's no goalie,
24:37and he's going away from goal to the side of the pitch,
24:39he's trying to check back.
24:41He's not going for a goal.
24:43But I'm not 100% sure whether it was a straight red or not.
24:46We've got a pole right in front of it.
24:48Right, we'll get back to you very shortly, Rory.
24:50Let's quickly get a full-time report from Camelon Juniors
24:54and Elgin City from Michael Steele.
24:56Thank you very much, Andy.
24:58Well, it's finished here.
24:59Elgin City, three, Camelon Juniors, one.
25:02The sixth-tier side of Scottish football, Camelon Juniors,
25:05had hope at half-time thanks to that equaliser from Jordan Kilpatrick,
25:09and they started the second half very, very well.
25:13However, they couldn't quite convert any of the chances into goals
25:16and they were struck on the counter-attack.
25:18A sick piece it was from Elgin City.
25:21And then after that, Kane Hester scored his second of the match,
25:25his ninth goal of the season.
25:28And then after that, Elgin City got their third.
25:31A mix-up at the back from goalkeeper for Camelon Juniors, Dean Shaw,
25:34and it ended up being Mark Gallagher scoring the third goal for the Highlanders.
25:38Disappointment here.
25:39One of the great stories of the Scottish Cup this season has come to an end.
25:42Camelon Juniors, first time in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
25:45They won't be progressing, but Elgin City will be.
25:48League Two side Elgin City have progressed to the fifth round.
25:51Camelon Juniors, one. Elgin City, three.
25:53Yeah, Camelon Juniors' journey in the Scottish Cup is over,
25:57but what a journey it's been for them.
25:59They had already beaten League Two side Edinburgh City
26:01to reach the fourth round and gave a great account of themselves.
26:04So, well done to everyone at Camelon Juniors,
26:07but their journey comes to an end.
26:10Now we will go through the classified results.
26:13Still a few games going to extra time, of course,
26:17that we've heard about at Livingston in particular
26:21and Spartans as well, but we will run through the scores just now.
26:25We kick things off today with Dunfermline Athletic versus Hibernian.
26:34Famous victory for the Pars.
26:36They won by a goal to nil.
26:38A stoppage time goal.
26:40Own goal from Miguel Chaua,
26:43taking Neil Lennon's side through to the next round.
26:46Airdreonians two are both two.
26:48That's heading for extra time, as we've just heard.
26:50Camelon Juniors have gone down 3-1 to Elgin City.
26:54Alan's just told us about the full-time at Tanadice.
26:57Dundee United two, Airdreon United one.
26:59They're still playing at Kelty Hearts.
27:02They're drawing 1-1 with Cove Rangers.
27:04In fact, that's into extra time, that match.
27:07We've just heard the full-time whistle at Rugby Park.
27:10Dramatic end there.
27:12Kilmarnock one, Dundee two.
27:14Chick's been keeping us up to date from Almondvale.
27:17Livingston one, St Mirren one.
27:19That one heading for extra time.
27:21Motherwell were 1-0 winners over Ross County.
27:24Partick Thistle three, Montrose one.
27:27Spartans nil, Inverness Cali Thistle nil.
27:30That one is heading for extra time.
27:33And a fantastic day for Stenhouse Muir.
27:364-0 victors over Greenock Morton.
27:39Later this evening, Hearts will take on Falkirk.
27:43In the final match of the Saturday line-up.
27:46And then tomorrow, Aberdeen take on Wraith Rovers.
27:49And Auchinlett Talbott are up against Celtic.
27:55So that is you up to date with the Scottish Cup.
27:58One match in League One today.
28:00And Hamilton Acquis plenty going on off the field there.
28:04But on the field, they are going along all right today.
28:07They are leading 3-2, or they have won 3-2 away to Peterhead.
28:11So a big result there in League One for Hamilton Acquis.
28:15And one game in League Two which has ramifications at the top of the table.
28:21East Kilbride in second have cut the gap on Spartans at the top.
28:25They have won at Stirling Albion by two goals to one.
28:32Right, let us get some full-time reports from around the grounds.
28:37And let's start at Tanadise.
28:40Alan Preston was watching on as Dundee United took on Air United.
28:46What was the story of that one, Alan?
28:48Yeah, Dundee United are into the fifth round, Andy.
28:50In the end, a comfortable 2-0 win.
28:53The first half is a bit of a non-event.
28:55Not many chances.
28:56Dow had a shot, which Richard saves.
28:58Graham lobbed onto the top of the bar.
29:000-0 at half-time.
29:01Into the second half, Harding had a shot.
29:03Then Russo had a shot for Air United just wide as well.
29:06Fata had a really good effort, well saved by Russell.
29:09But the goal came in 77 minutes.
29:11Substitute Strain came on, and he got to the byline.
29:14And as he rolled the ball back to the 6-yard box,
29:16Moller got across the front of the defender
29:18and rolled his right foot into the back of the net.
29:20And then a minute from the end, another substitute.
29:23Two substitutes, actually.
29:24Trapanovski and Kamara.
29:25They played a 1-2 on the break.
29:27They had a superior advantage with men at this point.
29:29And a wonderful finish by Kamara, opening up his right foot
29:32and passing it into the back of the net for 2-0.
29:34United did have to go through, but Air United certainly made a game of it.
29:37Full-time score at Tanadise.
29:39Dundee United 2, Air United 0.
29:41Right, dramatic end at Rugby Park.
29:44Kilmarnock versus Dundee.
29:46Rory Loy can bring us a story.
29:48Yes, indeed.
29:49It was a breathless 95 minutes here at Rugby Park.
29:52However, make no mistake about it.
29:53The best team on the day won, and that was Dundee.
29:55They came out flying after four minutes.
29:58They showed their signs of intent.
29:59And it was Jogan, who was the best player on the pitch,
30:02in my opinion, all day.
30:03There were some good performers, but he was the standout.
30:05He had one blocked on the line.
30:08He had a header off the bar.
30:10And on 11 minutes, the first real bit of quality in the match
30:13came from Dom Thompson as David Watson clipped one,
30:16or pinged one, should I say, right across from a corner.
30:19And Dom Thompson met it flush on the volley.
30:21Clipped both posts before heading into the net for 1-0.
30:25Kilmarnock slightly unfair in Dundee at that point,
30:27but they went on to miss more opportunities in that first half
30:29through Hay and Astley as well.
30:31Into the second half.
30:33And Hay hit the bar on 48 minutes.
30:37I could run through Dundee's chances in the second half.
30:39It would take me all night, I think.
30:40But Danda Congreve, Ashley Hay, all had chances.
30:44Tiffany had one up the other end, as did Marcus Dakers.
30:47Both four saves from the goalkeeper.
30:49But on 6-8 minutes, Ashley Hay, he found his space in the box.
30:52He took a touch, and he smashed it past Kelrus
30:54in the goals, who had absolutely no chance.
30:56One that he did have a chance with was in the 92nd minute
31:01when Charlie Riley's cross wasn't caught well at all.
31:03It went way up in the air.
31:05I was even about to sit down because I thought,
31:07Kelrus is coming to catch this.
31:09Robbie Dees decides to jump into him.
31:10No communication.
31:11It fell to Drew Wright.
31:13He tapped it into the back of the empty net for 2-1 Dundee.
31:16And all things said and done, after the dust has settled,
31:19you have to say Dundee deserved it.
31:21So it finished here at Rugby Park.
31:22Come on at one, Dundee two.
31:24Right, they're still playing at Almondvale.
31:26They're into extra time.
31:27Livingston up against St Mirren.
31:29Chick Young can tell us the tale of that one so far.
31:32Yeah, it's well into extra time.
31:34First half, first period of extra time, of course.
31:37It's 1-1 after the 90 minutes.
31:39Both of the goals came early in the game.
31:41Udowu on the end of a Richardson cross.
31:43Straightforward finish for him,
31:45and Richardson getting down the right-hand side
31:47and pointing it into the six-yard box.
31:49It was Scott Arfield with his debut goal for Livingston
31:52and the equalised only just eight minutes later,
31:5411 minutes to the clock.
31:55We thought we were in for a thriller.
31:56It didn't turn that out that way,
31:58but it's a little bit lively.
31:59All sorts of substitutions now for both sides,
32:02as you might imagine.
32:03St Mirren getting it forward, creating a couple of opportunities,
32:06but Livingston giving as good as they're getting,
32:07I have to say as well.
32:08It really could go either way.
32:10Just wonder if it's going to be a goal to settle this.
32:12I will be heading for penalties.
32:14It's still 1-1.
32:15We're in well into the first period of extra time, Andy.
32:19Motherwell were up against Ross County,
32:21a return to Fir Park for Stuart Kettlewell.
32:24Ian McCall was watching on for us.
32:26How was that one for you, Ian?
32:28Yeah, an unhappy return for Stuart,
32:29the home side 1-1-0.
32:31Yeah, listen, it was as expected.
32:33I think the first half was a bit of a non-event.
32:36Motherwell controlled the game,
32:37but their passing was a little bit too slow.
32:40The only real chance they had was Maswanisi went 1-1 with Trevor Carson,
32:45and he's beaten Trevor Carson all ends up.
32:47He said, you're just waiting to see the net bulge.
32:49Yacoviti, the centre back from Ross County, come over,
32:53and I think it was a head or a shoulder
32:55or certainly some part of his body that wasn't illegal.
32:58He managed to save it.
33:00Ross County were very compact, didn't really have many chances.
33:03The closest it came was a strike from distance from Lindsay,
33:06and Jay Henderson got in the follow-up.
33:08He was ruled offside.
33:10Really good double save, though, from Matty Connolly
33:12and the Motherwell goal, who wasn't to know that.
33:15I thought the game changed in the second half
33:17when Elijah just came on.
33:19I thought they became, for Motherwell,
33:21I thought they became a wee bit more creative,
33:23you know, about five minutes later on the hour mark.
33:25They got their goal.
33:26Callum Slattery broke forward,
33:28had a strike from about 20 yards,
33:30and Maswanisi, I haven't seen it back to my mind.
33:33He meant to get the touch on it,
33:35and he's knocked it by Trevor Carson.
33:37Trevor Carson in the Ross County goal
33:39to give Motherwell the home side a 1-0 advantage.
33:41They had another chance in the 77th minute
33:44where Elijah just went 1-1 from a lovely pass through
33:47from Slattery again,
33:49and a really good Trevor Carson save.
33:51Ross County hadn't offered much.
33:53They were well-organised, 70% possessed for the home side,
33:56but they had two chances in the last three or four minutes.
33:59One, Kieran Phillips brought out a great save from Matty Connolly,
34:04the young goalie for Motherwell,
34:06and then in the 93rd minute, Phillips again has played a lovely
34:09lot of first-time pass into Ronan Hale.
34:11He's free in the box, he's 1-1,
34:13and the finish was really, really poor, really timid,
34:16and that was the last chance of the game.
34:18So, as Motherwell progress and they beat Ross County at home,
34:21Motherwell 1-0,
34:23Yeah, Motherwell's fantastic season continues
34:25around the fifth round of the Scottish Cup,
34:28as are Partick Thistle.
34:29They were up against Montrose,
34:31and Chris Doolan was watching for us.
34:33Yeah, Andy, and it's finished Partick Thistle 3,
34:35Montrose 1,
34:36Montrose 1,
34:37and it probably got a little too close for comfort for Thistle late on,
34:41after they lost Logan Chalmers being sent off.
34:44But in the first half, it was all Thistle.
34:47Tony Watt headed home after nine minutes.
34:49Fantastic work by Patrick Redding down the left-hand side.
34:52They clipped a brilliant ball into six-yard box,
34:54and Tony Watt found himself free in there to nod it down
34:57and to make it 1-0.
34:58Montrose started the first half pretty well.
35:01You know, they looked like they could be a threat.
35:04They had a chance at goal.
35:06It was saved well by Clark.
35:07It was cut back to the edge of the box to Brown,
35:09who stepped on and had a fantastic shot,
35:11which was well saved.
35:12And that was their first real chance at goal.
35:14And then after that, for the rest of the first half,
35:16Logan Chalmers was involved in most things
35:18that were all good from Partick Thistle.
35:20Everything coming down that right-hand side,
35:22he had a fantastic chance of cutting his left foot
35:25and bent it over the crossbar just to no more.
35:28Alex Samuel also had a cheeky back heel
35:31from three or four yards out, which was well saved.
35:33And by Gillan, goals.
35:35The second half, it all kicked off to life in the second half,
35:38really, because 48 minutes, Tony Watt makes it 2-0.
35:42From a corner, Logan Chalmers involved again,
35:45taking the corner, and it lands in the six-yard box,
35:48and Tony Watt just casually strokes it home to make it 2-0.
35:52After that, Logan Chalmers is then sent off.
35:55Like I said, he was involved in everything, but in 73 minutes,
35:58he was sent off, and that sent the game into a bit of a spiral after that.
36:0285 minutes, Montrose equalised.
36:04They get 2-1, sorry.
36:06A ball was thrown into the box, and Josh Clark comes for it,
36:08doesn't get it, and spills it.
36:10And it actually lands at Tommy North, the young lad on loan from Hearts,
36:13and he knocks it into an empty net to make it 2-1.
36:16All of a sudden, the game is thrown into turmoil,
36:19because Montrose then, a minute later, get a man sent off.
36:22Terry Masson comes on as a substitute,
36:24and then gets 2 yellow cards and gets sent off for a tackle on Stanwy.
36:27And after that, both teams down to 10 men.
36:30Both teams pushing.
36:31Thistle trying to make sure they don't throw it away,
36:33hitting Montrose on the counter,
36:35and they've done just that in the 91st minute.
36:37Rico Diak, a substitute for Thistle, breaks away.
36:40He's a powerful striker.
36:41He's a fantastic finisher.
36:43Kyle Turner slips him through in 25 yards.
36:4530 yards for the goal.
36:47Runs all the way through and puts it in at the near post to make it.
36:49Partick Thistle 3, Montrose 1.
36:52Yeah, Partick Thistle into the fifth round.
36:54Did a good run in the League Cup earlier this season.
36:56Going along very nicely in the Championship.
36:58How far can they go in the Scottish Cup?
37:01Airdrie have retaken the lead against our bro.
37:04Dean McMaster has scored their third in the first half of Extra Time.
37:10But let's chat about some of the games today, guys.
37:14We spoke briefly about early doors.
37:18The first game of the day.
37:20Dunfermline, a huge result, Tom.
37:22But for Hibbs, it's a real disappointment.
37:25Because in this of all seasons, they might have fancied a real good cup run.
37:29Yeah, I think all of those teams, you know, the top six, seven teams could fancy it.
37:34Because, you know, apart from Hearts, there's not really a lot of consistency elsewhere.
37:39Not Motherwell.
37:40Certainly Motherwell will fancy themselves.
37:42Hearts will fancy themselves.
37:43Celtic and Rangers will fancy.
37:45They're getting some consistency now, for sure.
37:47For sure.
37:48But this seems to be a wide open cup for me.
37:50Yeah.
37:51You know?
37:52And for Hibbs to go out this early is a real, real sickness.
38:00It's a game they would have expected to have won.
38:03They lost it two minutes into at a time, 92nd minute to an own goal.
38:09But really, you know, you would expect them to assert their superiority earlier on in that game.
38:15And they never did it.
38:16They never, they never coped what was coming at them.
38:20And Dunfermline, I thought, were excellent.
38:22I thought Neil Lennon did a brilliant job coaching them.
38:24Setting them up.
38:25Asking questions.
38:26And it's a massive day for him.
38:28Personally, professionally.
38:30Huge day for Neil Lennon.
38:32A massive day for Neil Lennon and Dunfermline.
38:34A bad day for Hibbs and their manager, David Gay.
38:37Let's hear from him now.
38:41David, commiserations.
38:42It wasn't your day today.
38:43What went wrong?
38:44The obvious is we've lost a game of football.
38:47I can't stand here and say we fully deserve to win.
38:50I can talk about chances we created, chances we missed.
38:53I can talk about decisions.
38:55It doesn't really matter.
38:56The reality situation is...
38:58Is it just a soft handover?
39:01I mean that with the greatest respect of them filming.
39:03Congratulations to them.
39:04I think they deserve to go through.
39:05They've scored the goal.
39:06And we didn't do enough to win the game on the day.
39:09You had chances, didn't you?
39:10Particularly Ciarán Bowie in the first half
39:12and a terrific opportunity for Feebo late on.
39:15Yeah, I think, as I say, I could stand and talk about that
39:18and not miss chances.
39:19They're big moments in the game.
39:20Ciarán's is a massive moment.
39:21Tebow's is a big chance.
39:23They're the chances after half-time as well.
39:25So, I'm not going to...
39:27As I say, I can't stand and say we played well enough to ensure that we won the game.
39:31And that's really disappointing.
39:33And, listen, we're out of the cup.
39:34It's not good enough, I recall.
39:36What was the...
39:37In terms of the decisions, was it a potential penalty?
39:41Is that what troubled you?
39:43There was a few things, but I'm not going to...
39:45Again, we knew there was no VR before the game.
39:47So I can't stand here and say if we had VR, it doesn't matter.
39:49We didn't have it.
39:50That's part of it.
39:52Erm...
39:53So I'm not going to get drawn on decisions
39:54and I don't want to make it sound like I'm making excuses.
39:56I think fair play to them firmly in the next round of the cup.
39:58And we're not.
40:00The Hibs manager, David Gray there, Tony, sounding very disappointed
40:04but he was not wanting to make excuses.
40:06He says we're out of the cup and it was not good enough.
40:08It's fair play to David and it's what he's always like.
40:10I think he's very honest in his assessment there.
40:13And he's really, really disappointed.
40:14You can see with the way the interview comes across,
40:16he'll be really disappointed with that.
40:17But as you said, it just gives opportunities.
40:20Now it's really, really hotting up in terms of that Scottish Cup.
40:22You look at some of the teams that are left.
40:24You know, you've still got Elgin in there, Stennis Muir.
40:28And you'll see whoever wins.
40:30I think Airdrie look like they're going to progress through now.
40:33You'll see Kelty or Culver coming through.
40:35So it really is open getting into that next stage of the cup.
40:38And some of the Premier League teams going out.
40:40It'll be an interesting draw after that.
40:42Well, let's check in again with Chick Young at Almondvale.
40:45What's the latest check?
40:47Livingston won, St Mirren won.
40:48Yeah, it's still that score line, Andy.
40:50We've had a few changes getting made now.
40:52St Mirren are just going to make a switch or two as well.
40:56I think that's a goal we were going off.
40:58It is.
40:59And he's going to be replaced by Evan Mooney.
41:02So a switch up front for Saints.
41:04I tell you, I don't know what a chance he had before the end of that game.
41:07I think he thought the play had stopped.
41:10He was on the six-yard line.
41:11The ball fell almost in his lap.
41:13He couldn't control it.
41:14He should have put it away.
41:15That didn't work.
41:17So we're well into the first half of time added on.
41:22There's a switch again getting made for St Mirren.
41:26Scott Tanzer coming on as well.
41:28He'll go to the far side, try and get things into the box.
41:32A good striker of a box, Scott Tanzer.
41:34But at the moment, it's still 1-1.
41:36And Levy have a free kick right on the centre circle.
41:39It's the low of the box.
41:41There's been a lot of aerial challenges.
41:43Big players in this game, of course.
41:45Now it's going to stall four for Stevie May inside the box.
41:48Do Samirn deal with that?
41:49Gogic gets it away.
41:50Still 1-1, Andy.
41:52We spoke at the top of the show, Tom, about Steven Robinson
41:55being very strong in his comments about his players.
41:58In the wake of the last few games, actually,
42:00but particularly after the midweek defeat to Hearts,
42:02they said, my players made me look stupid,
42:05which we thought was really strong.
42:07But Tony made the point.
42:09Steven Robinson's built a relationship with these players.
42:12So he's a better judge of them than anyone else.
42:15But they still need to pick up this win just to end this little rot
42:19they've had since the League Cup final.
42:21Yeah.
42:22Look, I mean, they're on a terrible run.
42:24They're not scoring goals or conceding goals.
42:26Confidence is down.
42:28Maybe they're feeling a bit sorry for themselves
42:30because of all these VAR decisions that have gone against them.
42:32Injuries.
42:33But they're playing so beneath themselves.
42:37You saw the same team that won the League Cup.
42:39It's almost like you've replaced those guys
42:42and put in a new bunch of players.
42:44It's got to be galling for the manager
42:46because he knows they're way better than what they've been showing
42:50in the last four games.
42:52Not scoring.
42:54Tom, just to interrupt you.
42:55That's half-time and extra time still 1-1.
42:58Is there anything happening there?
43:00Yeah, deciding the Chinese.
43:03It's...
43:04You know, so St Mirren, it's...
43:06Livy, we know what Livy are.
43:07They haven't won in forever.
43:10And they're battling.
43:11And this is what Livy are.
43:13They're just a team of battlers trying to survive.
43:16We know that St Mirren are better than this
43:18because they've shown it.
43:20But the longer it goes without them showing it,
43:23they're going to get sucked into a battle here at the bottom.
43:25I know it's a cup game today,
43:27but their real bread and butter is the cup, is the league.
43:30And it's...
43:31Everything is a problem for them right now.
43:32Everything is tough and everything is stressed.
43:34It strikes me that David Martindale smells blood here.
43:38He's out at the moment.
43:39He's gone to every one of his players as they come off
43:42to just get a wee refuel
43:44in the short break between the extra time periods.
43:48Having a word with every player,
43:49really urging them on, trying to get them on.
43:51I think he smells blood that they can...
43:53The Lummies can get this, you know.
43:55My instinct earlier on was we're here for the duration
43:58with extra time and penalties,
44:00but I think Livy feel they can get something like this.
44:02St Mirren have just...
44:03You're right.
44:04They've just been just a shadow of the team
44:05that's so early on this season.
44:07They've got their energy levels.
44:08They're not doing things quickly as they used to do it.
44:11You know, the coming games getting forward,
44:13I've told you about not getting the balls into the box early enough.
44:16The Strikers have been off a big Michael Mandron.
44:19He's hardly got himself into the game.
44:22They really have to dig this out.
44:25That's the second period of extra time about to start,
44:2815 minutes away from penalty kicks.
44:30It's almost as if they've had this incredible high
44:32of winning the League Cup,
44:33and they can't bring themselves back down to worth yet.
44:36Yeah.
44:37It's almost they're still living in the past,
44:39celebrating that.
44:41And every game for them now is a footballing war.
44:45You know, this game or every game.
44:47And I think maybe their head is still in the clouds.
44:49Yeah, we still wait to see who out of St Mirren
44:53and Livingston will take their place in the fifth round.
44:55We do know, Tony, that Dundee United will be there.
44:58They had to bide their time.
45:00It was 77 minutes before they made their breakthrough
45:03and did a second late on.
45:05But it's very much a case of job done.
45:07Air United put up a decent fight,
45:09but Dundee United did what they needed to do.
45:11And I think credit to Jim Goodwin.
45:13You know, he made a really brave decision.
45:14He put, the game wasn't going his way.
45:16And he put on four substitutions.
45:18He identified something in the game.
45:19And he strengthened his team, no doubt.
45:21He went to a front two of Sturton and Mola.
45:23And that paid dividends for him.
45:25And as a result of that brave decision,
45:27they're now through.
45:28Fantastic second goal, by the way I've got to say.
45:30Great finish, yeah.
45:31They're now through to the next round.
45:32So credit to him.
45:34Yeah.
45:35Well, we can hear from Dundee United's Craig Sybil.
45:38Craig, fabulous results in the end,
45:42although you left a bit later than you would have thought
45:44or hoped for, I would have thought.
45:46Yeah, a bit later than we hoped for,
45:48but got the job done and we're into the next round.
45:50It looked like a tough game to play and the conditions weren't great.
45:52The pitch looked quite heavy as well.
45:54How difficult was that?
45:56Yeah, it was tough.
45:57The pitch isn't great now.
45:58And United defended well.
45:59So it was tough to try and get the goal.
46:02And I'm just thankful in the second half we took our chances.
46:06I guess when you look at the game as a whole, it was a relatively even first half.
46:10But I think after the break, I don't think anyone can deny that you guys deserve the victory.
46:14Yeah, I would say so as well.
46:15We started on the front foot the second half and we were creating chances.
46:19So it was about just taking them in the end and we're glad that we've done that.
46:23Yeah, Dundee United 2-0 winners at Tanadise over Air United.
46:29Well, guys, let's chat about Kilmarnock and Dundee.
46:33Well, Kilmarnock got off to a great start with that fabulous goal, Tom, from Thomson.
46:39We might not see a better strike in the Cup this season.
46:42A beautiful volley and you're thinking, right, go on and kick on.
46:45But Dundee took control and despite the calamitous nature of the winning goal,
46:51I think from what Rory Loy was telling us, it was a fully deserved win for Dundee.
46:55Yeah, and it was a great volley from Thompson.
46:58I've watched it.
47:00I love shots that go in off the poles.
47:02This one's going off both poles.
47:04Yes.
47:05This makes it a little bit more aesthetically pleasing.
47:07It's like those shots that come down off the crossbar.
47:09The tone of your boys.
47:10Yeah, yeah, yeah.
47:12Love those.
47:13So it's 1-1.
47:14It's finally balanced.
47:15You'd say...
47:16Oh, my score!
47:17Oh!
47:18What a miss!
47:19He's got to score.
47:20He's got to score.
47:22Lundee, he's got his six yard line.
47:24He's full at his mercy.
47:25Takes the first time.
47:26And doesn't score, Tony.
47:28Any connection, it's a goal.
47:31Yeah, absolutely.
47:33Absolutely.
47:34But that winning goal for Dundee, I've watched it 20 times here.
47:41I have it on the screen in front of me.
47:43I keep watching it.
47:44Yeah, here it is.
47:45It's just beyond belief.
47:47It's beyond belief.
47:48The big hoofed cross, high cross into the box.
47:53And Roos comes out.
47:55It's...
47:56I just...
47:57I can't describe it.
47:58I know.
47:59And you know what?
48:00I feel sorry for Neil and Billy.
48:02Because as you said, there's nothing you can do about that.
48:04You know, you and Anders played a cross that he wouldn't be happy with.
48:07No.
48:08And you just think...
48:09Rory's commentary says he was just thinking that he's going to catch the ball
48:12and it's the next part of the play.
48:14And unfortunately, they make that mistake and they're out of the cup.
48:16And that's the consequence of that.
48:18And that's where it's...
48:19It's difficult.
48:20But I think on the whole, looking at it and looking at the match stats
48:22and looking at...
48:23And listening to Rory's commentary, I think Dundee deserved to win the match anyway.
48:27And particularly when Kilmarnock got down to 10 men.
48:29It looked like, again, a really brave decision by Steven Presley.
48:32That he went two up top.
48:34He brought his captain on, Simon Murray.
48:35And again, it paid dividends.
48:37So, both Dundee and Dundee United, I think both managers take a lot of credit.
48:40But when that ball is in the air from Danda,
48:43Robbie Dees, who's under it, who looks to have it under control,
48:48he has a little look to see where his goalie is.
48:51I don't know what the communication is, because we obviously can't hear him.
48:54But then the goalie comes out and they both go for the ball.
48:58And it's just an absolute present, gift wrapped in a lovely little bowl.
49:03Here, here's a goal, knock us out of the cup.
49:06I mean, unbelievable stuff.
49:08Yeah, I wouldn't like to be in that video analysis session on Monday.
49:11Let me tell you.
49:12Right, one of the big results, which fair play to Tony Dougherty.
49:15He called it right at the top of the afternoon.
49:17Stenhouse Muir.
49:19The League One leaders turning over Championship Morton.
49:23And they did it in style by four goals to nil.
49:26It's a great day for Stenny, not so much for Morton.
49:30Let's hear from their manager, Ian Murray.
49:33Ian, can you sum up your thoughts on the match today?
49:35Well, bitterly disappointing, that's for sure.
49:38To lose any game of football is tough to take,
49:41but to lose in that manner is extra tough.
49:44We weren't outplayed by any stretch of imagination,
49:47but we're definitely 100% outfought in the game.
49:49Yeah.
49:50What about the couple of goals from set pieces?
49:54Is that a worry for you?
49:55Yeah, it is.
49:56Three goals from set plays.
49:58We need to be braver.
49:59We need to be more aggressive.
50:00We need to go and compete and have body contact with the opposition.
50:03And on today's evidence, we're not willing to do that.
50:06So we need to go away.
50:07Work incredibly hard on the training pitch.
50:09As I said, if you're going to lose a game of football,
50:12there's ways to lose it.
50:13Today is not the way to lose a game of football.
50:14We've got exactly what we deserve.
50:17Well, that was the Morton manager, Ian Murray,
50:20and that was a bad day for him, wasn't it?
50:23Yeah, he sounds very despondent there.
50:25You know, in particular, it's harder as a manager or coach
50:27when you lose goals to set plays,
50:28because that's something that you really can affect,
50:30you know, in terms of your organisation.
50:32So yeah, I'll be really disappointed about that.
50:34But listen, full credit to Gary Naismith.
50:36I said that at the start, he's got a good thing going there.
50:38He's had a very successful season up to now.
50:41And to get to that latter stage of the cup competition,
50:44just again, just expresses how good a job Gary's doing.
50:48Yeah, absolutely. Fantastic day for Steny.
50:51We were talking about Kilmarnock, Tom.
50:53We heard the boos really ringing out at Rugby Park,
50:56and I was there just around the turn of the year
50:59when they lost to Hibs.
51:00I think it was January the 3rd.
51:01And look, Neil McCann's just in the door.
51:03This isn't on him, but the Kilmarnock fans
51:05have had to endure a pretty tough season.
51:07They're not happy at the moment.
51:09They're not happy because I think it's no wins now in 16.
51:12And at the moment, they could, I mean,
51:16are they going out of the league?
51:18It's toss up.
51:19They themselves and Livingston, I think.
51:22It's grim.
51:25It's really, really grim.
51:26And when they're giving away goals like that,
51:28that's taking them out of the cup.
51:30Goals like that could cost them a place in the league.
51:32It's, they've brought in Kel Roos and already,
51:36one game, calamitous error.
51:38And it's, when they're in that rut,
51:41it must be really, really hard to get out of it.
51:43Like 16 games without a win.
51:45They've forgotten.
51:46A lot of these guys have forgotten how to win a match.
51:48Yeah.
51:49Well, let's end on a positive in Dundee.
51:51They did go there.
51:52They won.
51:53They played very well.
51:54Steven Presley is starting to get a tune out of these players.
51:57We said earlier on, you know,
51:58his appointment wasn't universally greeted well,
52:00but he's getting something out of them now.
52:02Yeah.
52:03And again, I say that earlier on,
52:04that he deserves credit for being brave in the game,
52:06you know, cup competition.
52:07You need to make those decisions and to bring on,
52:09as I say, his captain, Simon Murray,
52:11to go 4-4-2.
52:12And to really force the issue,
52:13then they deserve to get through.
52:15And just the game we're watching just now as well.
52:17Tom, you're talking about how this game can turn
52:19the fortunes of a club here.
52:21Whatever club goes through here,
52:23whether they win it in the match,
52:25or whether they win it in penalties,
52:26that can change the dynamic.
52:28You know, in talking about Kilmarnock,
52:29the way you are there.
52:30This game, you know,
52:31is really important for both teams,
52:32Livingston and Stammer.
52:34Well, you can follow the rest of the action.
52:36from Livingston St Mirren across the website.
52:39We'll keep you updated.
52:40Tonight at Tyne Castle,
52:42it's Hearts versus Falkirk,
52:44the final match today in the fourth round.
52:47Two matches tomorrow,
52:48which you'll be able to follow on Sports Sound as well.
52:51But it's time for our viewers on BBC One to leave us now.
