00:00Good evening, friends, and welcome to The Pulse. I am David Harris, Jr., and thank you for choosing
00:13to spend a little bit of your evening with this brother right here. Friends, you remember those
00:18two pipe bombs that were found outside the RNC and the DNC headquarters in Washington, D.C. on
00:24January 5, 2021? Well, the FBI, they have finally arrested a man, a Virginia man, in connection
00:30with those bombs. And with this news, many Americans are asking the obvious question,
00:37how is it that with all the footage, all the evidence, all the investigative tools at their
00:42disposal, the once vaunted and trusted FBI could track down praying grandmas who wandered through
00:48the Capitol, yet for years kept coming up empty on a pipe bomber in our nation's Capitol? The day
00:56before the now infamous January 6, those two devices were found before they detonated, thank God. We
01:02were told by Biden's FBI that they had poured extensive resources into the investigation.
01:07They reviewed countless hours of surveillance footage, all the images of the suspect.
01:12They interviewed over 900 people, and yet somehow, despite all of that,
01:15the bomber remained unidentified. The total lack of movement on this case in our nation's Capitol
01:26undermined the public trust of our enforcement agencies. This cold case languished for four years
01:36until Director Patel and Deputy Director Bongino came to the FBI.
01:45Sounds like they needed some new leadership. Some might say that the FBI maybe had its attention
01:51elsewhere, like zeroing in on peaceful elderly protesters who were just wandering through the
01:56Capitol. Or were they managing the hundreds of confidential human resources, the FBI, that
02:03were presently reported on that day? Many Americans believe that the Bureau's leadership was more
02:09interested in aggressively pursuing any Republicans linked to D.C. on January 6th, rather than
02:15solving the pipe bomb case. Now we've been told that the investigation, it was complicated
02:20because of the quality and the nature of the video evidence. Analysts even tried gait analysis,
02:26attempting to determine the suspect's sex based on the manner of walking. Still, they came up short.
02:34Why did progress only come after a new commander in chief and new leadership at the FBI? That's the question.
02:43Joining me now to discuss is national security analyst and former U.S. Secret Service emergency
02:49response team member under the Bush and Obama administrations, Barry Donadio. Barry, thank you
02:55so much for joining The Pulse this evening. What are your thoughts on this? The pipe bomber, four years
03:00goes by, FBI can't find them. They're finding little old ladies, though. Anybody else that had anything to do,
03:05they stepped foot inside the Capitol on January 6th. They had thousands of hours of video and images,
03:12and they found them. And yet, new leadership of the FBI, new president, and now they caught the guy.
03:18What are your thoughts? Thanks for having me on. It's just what they said in the press conference
03:24that they gave. The hands have been untied to the FBI by President Donald Trump. They're allowed to be
03:31police again, once again, instead of chasing political ideologies. They're doing expert work.
03:37They were probably on this case the day they came in, Director Patel, as well as my former colleague,
03:44Bongino. These are aggressive guys. He's a smart guys. But mostly, they're interested in serving the
03:51people. These are not politicians. These guys are of the people for the people. I've worked with
03:58Bongino side by side. He's going to give the honest answer every time. So really, ultimately,
04:05it goes down the chain of command, thanks to President Trump, Kash Patel, Bongino, and Bondi.
04:11All of them put together solved this case.
04:16Yeah. Yeah. New leadership, new heads. And I agree with you. I mean, Dan Bongino,
04:20he was making a fortune when he was in the private sector enjoying his podcast. And now he's serving
04:26the American people, making a lot less. But he's in there to get the job done. You know,
04:30Bondi also says that there wasn't any new tips that broke the case. Instead,
04:34just a thorough review of what they already had. Well, sounds like good old-fashioned police work
04:40to me. Where do you think this is going to go? Any ideas at all? Any thoughts as to why maybe the
04:45Biden's FBI and DOJ, why they didn't really seem to care who this person was? Any inclination at all
04:52on who this guy might turn out to be or be connected to?
04:57Well, I think the former administration was so fixated on prosecuting protesters for the January 6th
05:04riot that they lost focus on this case. And it was put on the back burner. So as Trump came into
05:11office, this once again became a priority. There's an enormous amount of information that has been
05:16gathered by the FBI. But it seemed to have been laying dormant. The case was like dormant,
05:22put off to the side, and now rejuvenated once again because Trump is in office and we have new
05:28leadership at the FBI. But what this young man has done was probably looking at a conviction,
05:36facing up to 40 years in jail for both of these charges. They are very, very serious. He's in a lot
05:41of trouble. And I just can't think of why he would do something like that at such a young age. And
05:47it just shows the power of the politics that are on computers and people just taking it to the next
05:54level by doing violent acts they shouldn't be doing. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely insane, insane what
06:01he did. And thank God those bombs did not go off. FBI Director Cash Patel spoke earlier today. I want
06:06to get your reaction. Watch. When you attack American citizens, when you attack our institutions of
06:14legislation, when you attack our nation's capital, you attack the very being of our way of life.
06:22And this FBI and this Department of Justice stand here to tell you that we will always refute it and
06:27combat it.
06:27Would you say that this kind of inspires the kind of confidence that Americans are actually looking
06:36for in our departments like the FBI and DOJ?
06:41Yeah, that's the FBI I want to have protecting me and my family. Every American should demand an FBI
06:48like the FBI is today under the leadership of Cash Patel and Dan Bongino. I would accept nothing less.
06:55So they're on the right track. They're doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing. And I'm very proud
07:00of the both of them. And America is safer because these two men are leading the FBI as well as President
07:07Trump is leading them.
07:10Yeah, they absolutely are leading and that's what they do. That's what real leaders do. Let's bring
07:15in former Chicago PD Superintendent J.P. Weiss. J.P., thank you for joining the polls this evening
07:20as well. You know, Deputy Director Dan Bongino also spoke in today's presser and he didn't sugarcoat a
07:25thing. Before we get to that though, I want to get your opinion on the FBI and underneath Cash
07:32Patel, Dan Bongino catching this pipe bomber. What are your thoughts?
07:36Well, I think David is a really, really important day for the FBI. The old administration, I think
07:42the America's trust and confidence in the Bureau had just been shattered. And I think a day like
07:47today where they go back and they find this case that has been languishing for years. And the key
07:52thing about this, it wasn't that hard to solve. You know, you have cell data, which easily could have
07:57found this person. You've got license plate readers. You then go out and you can find out where
08:03we bought the bomb making materials. This is not the most complicated case, but somebody's
08:08got to want to work it. And apparently that wasn't the case before. So it's a really good time seeing
08:13the new leadership in the FBI. They solve this case. And I think this is important for America
08:18to start getting that trust and confidence back into the Bureau.
08:21Yeah, it's exactly what Americans need to see. Let's watch what Dan Bongino had to say. He,
08:27uh, he cut loose. Watch folks. This is what it's like when you work for a president who tells you to
08:33go get the bad guys and stop focusing on other extraneous things, not related to law enforcement.
08:38Folks, you're not going to walk into our capital city, put down two explosive devices and walk off in
08:46the sunset. Not going to happen. We were going to track this person to the end of the earth.
08:52There was no way he was getting away.
08:57JP, uh, not going to happen. Not on our watch. That's what happens when you work for a president
09:02that says, go get the bad guys. Your thoughts. Yeah, I agree with Dan on that. But like I said
09:09before, David, the real problem for me, I had in this was when I saw how they identified him,
09:13this technology has been out for almost 20 years. So how could this not have been done
09:18before? We sat for four years and we said we don't know who this is, but we sure did track
09:23down everybody that went around the Capitol that day and we arrested a whole bunch of people then.
09:27So it really comes down to the question, why wasn't this done before? But I'm really happy that Dan and
09:32Cash have directed the FBI to solve this case because it's important. People have to have trust and
09:38confidence in the Bureau and this is a way to get it back. So it's a good day for the FBI today.
09:42It's a good day for America. Yeah, it is a good day. Barry, what's the most important lesson
09:49that the FBI and the country should take away from how long this case went unsolved?
09:56I think politics had everything to do with this because this case was dormant and the administration
10:01lost focus on it, put it on that back burner and again was obsessed with January 6 rioters,
10:08other than a man, a madman with pipe bombs trying to blow up the headquarters of both political
10:15parties in this country. So it just goes to show who's in charge, who's president makes a difference
10:21in this country. Yeah, it absolutely does. And obviously we all know how January 6 went down or
10:28how the media tried to portray it. And there was definitely going to be a lot of people around
10:32those two bite bombs before they were taken out. Thank God that they were and thank God that they
10:37found the bomber. Barry Donatio and JP Weiss, God bless you guys. Thank you for joining The Pulse tonight.
10:44Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, David. Stay safe.
